I’m gluten free and this place is excellent for me. Lucky to have it local. And a nice friendly team that run it.

Ordered 2 small cod and chips this evening and, although there was nobody else waiting to be served when I arrived, there were soon more customers in the shop, and I hadn't realised just how many orders they already had on the go from phone calls! They seem to generally cook the fish to order, which is what you want, so I was expecting to wait a bit, but with all the other orders ahead of mine, it did take quite a while! However, it was well worth the wait because the cod and chips was truly excellent - fresh, tasty, and a very generous "small" portion!! No wonder they were so busy! Great to have such a good local chippy.

I've reviewed this place before but having had a takeaway yesterday I have to give another review. The service was again very good. They recognised me from before which was nice. Their products are always cooked fresh which does mean a bit of a wait but it's worth it. They do Vegan and vegetarian too. I have to give them 5 stars.

Super friendly staff and a charming little shop with tons of options to choose from – including the best gluten-free menu around! The shop has comfy seating and a long bench if you want to eat in, or you can grab takeaway. We ordered scampi, large cod, large haddock, and chips. Honestly, you’d never guess the food was gluten-free – it was that delicious. The prices were reasonable, especially considering how everything’s going up these days. Five of us ate well (with enough leftover chips for a morning chip butty!) for just £47.

Portion Sizes were tiny, 15 chips in a large cod and chips box is ridiculous, won't be ordering here again

The fish and chips taste was 10/10 BUT this fish portion size was like a small when ordered large cod and chips also it is a bit over priced for the portion sizes staff are nice and friendly

I've been past a number of times and it just looked like a chippy. We then popped in to get our lunch and now we can't stop going. The team takes huge passion in the meals he serves and everything is definitely got that homemade feel about it. The veggie options are something else and taste incredible. The team have taken the traditional fish and chip shop and given it its own twist. Really can't recommend the food, the service and the overall choice of items enough. Great job team and i can see why you have so many 5 star reviews.

Had the fish tacos with the generous portion of chips that came with it, they were fantastic, fish was cooked to perfection. I will be back to try the burrito next time round.

Had an absolutely phenomenal lunch, burger meal deal is a must try. I expected a standard ‘chip shop burger’ but what I got was a proper tower stack with hash browns, onion rings, 2 patties, and gorgeous toppings. Chips were brilliant, proper fried chip shop chips. Definitely coming back again 🙏

This is honestly one of the friendliness beings I have met in a long time. The man at the shop (forgot his name but from Manchester) gave great customer service. Food was very fast and was absolutely delicious. My little Niece has made a friend for life. Thank you for looking after us ans filling our bellies. I absolutely love this place!!!

It's not the first time I've been there and each time I go there I wonder if I might get different result, but I don't. The staff make me feel very welcome and I can see that the food is fresh. OK, we have to wait, but it's worth it. Great food and atmosphere.

Real chips, home-made ! The menu had lots of options for takeaway and vegetarians catered for ! Burgers as well as genuine fish n chips! The owner was helpful .

The food was really good. Cooked fresh to order, so I can't falt that. Crispy batter and great chips. However, the portion size was a bit small. You'd expect a large Cod and chips to feed two, but the chips weren't quite as expected, especially for the price of £11.80. Overall, though, the food was very good quality

I was recommended to try this place some time back and had eaten there before. I was in the locality again, so I popped in to place an order. It has to be 5 stars. The staff were so attentive and friendly and kept us informed of the timing of my order. I ate the Masala cod and chips in the car rather than wait until I was home. The flavour was amazing and the chips were perfection. This is my new goto fish and chip shop. Highly recommended.

These guys have the best fish and chips ive tried and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and connections they make with the customers. The food there is really good and just looking at the menu made me even more hungry. I hope you give the chippy a try because trust me it is worth it:)

An absolute delight. Was looking for a chippy on the way to the match and found....The Chippy. What a find. The large cod was cooked to perfection and the chips were absolutely delicious - and the curry sauce was light, spicy and wonderful - again freshly made and loads of it. Next time, I'll definitely be giving the Masala Cod a try. Highly recommended.

AWFUL burnt chips - Gave me a upset stomach. Apparantly these chips are triple cooked ( BURNT) . Not worth the money.

So grateful for the Vegan fish and chips available from The Chippy! I’d not been able to enjoy this Friday night tradition for so long before I found The Chippy. The staff are really friendly, I would say that only downside is collections and deliveries do take some time, but they are always busy so it’s not surprising. Would definitely recommend if your veggie/vegan

Very friendly service from staff that are clearly passionate about what they do. I have visited on many occasions and have always enjoyed my conversations with the staff and the food is exceptional. This is much more than just a ‘chippy’ with some great other options such as their burritos, wraps and veggie/vegan options. Always enjoy going back!

Fabulous Gluten Free chippie! Fresh and very tasty gluten free battered cod, not greasy. Even gluten free vinegar for chips. Really good, we'll be back for sure.

I've been here before and wondered if was as good as before. No need to wondered, the fish and chips were as good as before. Thoroughly recommend them.

£3.50 for small chips. Good portion but overdone. £12 minimum for card - I didn’t have cash. So they made an “exception” for me. Even ketchup is paid for. Employee from the back made a comment out loud “nothing is free.” End result I had chips with no sauce of any kind. Customer service could have been better. Will not be back.

This was an awesome place to eat! The food was delicious, the prices were great, and the portions were huge- I definitely recommend getting food here. And as an added benefit they have celiac safe, gluten free food for those who need it (separate fryer and everything).

Last night my husband I ordered Cod and chips plus cheese sticks (all gluten free) for a late night snack—it was delicious, fresh and crispy and way too much food for even two of us. Today I had to go back for the cheese sticks as they are the BEST I’ve had—everything is cooked fresh, right in front of customers. Would love to live here if just for this food! Last night the gentlemen working the counter has said “we don’t have much for gluten free” but then went off to list way more options than I find at most restaurants. I just cant say enough praise for this little gem. Fantastic food, super affordable and such kind service! They get all the stars! Thank you for the great food and service!

Half a cod, supposed to be a large, fish and the chips were re-fried, stale, burnt, cold and greasy. Never again will I order from there. £17 wasted. The shop has replied but compare my photo to their's, this is what I got delivered. You've gone downhill the past year. And them chips were not like they used to be. As I said they were soggy/greasy as seen in photo.

Mr Chippy catered our Centenary event in Bray this weekend. Ash and Jay delivered fish and chips for over 70 people. The fish was crisp and hot and tasted delicious. Lots of the party goers commented on how nice their dinner was. Thank you guys for your part in making it such a successful evening. We will definitely be using you again.

Very good venue for a lunch. Went on Tuesday for pie, chips and drink. Excellent meal and good value for money. The staff were extremely sociable too. I would definitely return.

Went here last night with a friend after our Chinese takeaway never arrived. Was absolutely starving and the food was amazing. Massive portions and really tasty. The service was really friendly and everyone was so nice. Very reasonable prices too, I would 100% recommend this place!

Had a beautiful Cod and Chips cooked fresh while I waited. The owner was pationate about his menu and chatted with all the customers. Had a sample of a deep fried battered Mars bar which to my surprise was delicious. This is how all take aways should be run.

Brilliant for gluten-free and available everyday! Our first time here and we'll definitely be going back - the crispiest gluten-free batter I've had on any fish and chips. The mozzarella bites in gluten free batter were also so tasty

Got take out from this establishment for a quick lunch. The fries were soggy and tasteless, no salt and no ketchup provided. We ate perhaps 1/8 of the food provided only to satisfy our hunger before we gave up. Stay away!!

Had a grand ol time over at The Chippy. The fish and chips were great and I learnt a lot about straws.

Do not come here for quick service. So very very very slow. I’ve never known anything like it!!! So many staff doing so so little.

Good chips. And the only place we could find open at 3pm on an afternoon. Chips and food all cooked to order. Huge portions- we orders 3 chips for 4 of us and still couldn’t finish it off. Curry sauce was a bit runny, but the battered sausage was demolished by the kids.

This place is now our go-to Chippy. Although seemingly expensive, when I checked other local fish and chip shops I saw that the prices were similar....Inflation I guess. Either way, there are so many choices of food and not only fish and chips. They have vegetarian and vegan and I noted that they use a different oil for those dishes. I can only recommend this place to anyone.
