Lots of taste to be had here. For sure the Fish is fresh and nicely battered, the chips crispy and you can add sauces. the place must be popular since there always seems to be customers present and you may have to wait a while. However the result is well worth the wait since the Fish Supper is mouth-watering.

Another perfect order from The Chippy! Never fails to impress. Fish is always fresh and batter crispy. Curry sauce delicious too, and the chicken fillets are lovely also. Food is always hot and fresh when we order, nice treat!

Really enjoyed the white pudding, black pudding and chicken fillets suppers we had last week. Lovely crispy chips. All freshly prepared.

We had to wait a while and I thought they were a bit pricey. Once we got them they were more than worth the wait and worth every penny. They were some of the nicest fish & chips we have ever had.

We quite often use this place, the fish is always fresh, and the batter so light, it's delicious. Sausage super is also lovely.

We were a couple of nights into our week in Aviemore and were not in the mood for cooking. Having passed the sign multiple times we decided to pop in and try it. What can I say, fantastic chippy, chips were perfect as was the fish. Would definitely go back. Only gripe is no online menu or menu in the shop to take away.

Heading up the A9 to visit family and stopped at The Chippy for a gluten free fish supper. I called in advance to confirm they do gluten free which they said yes. I arrive and place my order to be told the gluten free fish is cooked in the same fryer as non gluten free fish. They guy behind the counter failed to understand the problem a celiac would have with cross contamination. Pointless to advertise gluten free fish and chicken goujons when it is all cooked in the same fryers!

Fabulous fish and chips. We have used The chippy for the last couple of years and it has been consistently good. If you are visiting or passing through it is well worth leaving the High Street and eating here . Just visited this last week , brining friends with us and the fish and chips were perfect.

Often stop on way through aviemore..best chips in town lovely crispy battered fish and huge portions not that stopped me eating the lot !..very reasonably priced as well..

Went for fish and chips and scampi and chips. Food was lovely although they didn't add our lemon to meal 😕 Nice fresh food Bit more expensive than at home Defo worth a visit though Can get busy so do need to wait a while

Hungry grownups and children alike staying at Macdonald resort cabins by the river were delighted to find that our fish suppers were as good as ever - well prepared, well packed for journey home, and as delicious as last year. Great to know that standards are being sustained. And next to the Coop for our other shopping needs. What's not to like. We will return, if only for quick detour off A9 on way to Inverness if not staying at resort next year.

Used this Chippy many times over the years but have visited it twice this visit and have been really dissatisfied both time. Over priced and food overcooked sadly

I hope this was not a regular occurrence but that was the saddest haddock suppers I have had from a Scottish chip shop - very thin, dry and over cooked and I would gladly have paid £7.95 had they been even half decent but I think it’s the restaurant for us for the duration of our stay - they boast locally sourced but I come from the north coast and haddock that size would have been thrown back in the sea. Very disappointed but thankfully the chips were really good -

Good take away haddock and chips in pizza style boxes for easily taking back to our chalets. Next to Coop store so able to do a quick shop while they prepared the fish. We came last spring and it was as good a year later - we were not disappointed. Helpful staff and good prices.

Staying in Aviemore just now and would strongly recommend the chips from here, had them last night and they were awesome.

We are on holiday in Scotland travelling round in a Motorhome. We found this fish and chip shop and decided to stop and get some for our tea.

It’s a shame there isn’t a ‘good’ option on the rating system as this would sit very happily here. I like to think I’m a F&C; connoisseur and had avidly read the previous reviews, taking particular interest in the knowledge that they offer gluten free batter; #winner.

Great chippy.all food cooked freshly for you. Great selection. Handy on high street across from tesco.

Great friendly professional staff. Delicious fish so fresh, lovely chips no grease here! Peas also yummie and decent potion size all round brilliant chippy will be back for sure.

Very good chippy here and good parking next to shop also. Very handy if you have had a busy day with activities and do not want to cook. Haddock was lovely . Very handy if you are at the top end of the village , you can place your order then nip over to the shop for your drinks and lottery tickets etc. Will use again.

As with all my Aviemore reviews I base it on the fact we are a team of eight golfers on holiday and for one nights takeaway we always use the chippy ok its not cheap but not to dear , the food is lovely I can not remember any of our lads saying otherwise we usually ring them put our order in and drive to the chippy where they always have it ready for us

Bought family-sized orders of fish and chips on two occasions during a stay in Aviemore recently. This fish and chip shop is run by a young, efficient, customer friendly team who serve up a truly scrumptious product. The fish is not over battered, tastes very fresh and you get a decent sized helping of chips which are crisp and very tasty.

Best ever fish and chips...2 fish suppers and 2 lite bites for the kids, all cooked perfect and good sized portions as always.

It does exactly what you need it to fresh hot and tasty. Pizzas next door if you want as well and kebabs are great

Between the Coop and the bike hire in north Aviemore off the old main road to Inverness The Chippy is very conveniently located, being modern, smart and friendly. All my family thought the haddock very good and the chips exceptional, though I have had even better (indicating how subjective food comparison is). No doubt we will be back when we return next year for another family holiday.

Great fish and chips, lovely and fresh, crispy batter and not soggy! Away from the Main Street of Aviemore but worth a visit. Would recommend it.

Watch out for cold chips and poor quality food, even when it's busy the food is not fresh. It's a shame as it used to be great.

Never fails to deliver the best fish and chips....a regular Friday night treat for the family. Highly recommended.

Great food , Great staff , good menu and a decent price , 7 of us ate for £40 . If your in the area and want some top draw fast food this is the place to go .

Just finished eating the best, freshest food from here. We had a chips with cheese, a single fish and a fish supper with a side of curry sauce. It was all made fresh whilst we waited which I loved. Honestly the best fish and chips I have had in a long time. I would also love to know how you make / where you buy your curry sauce from as it was delicious!? Lovely food.

Been here on numerous occasions and it is always good sized portions and well cooked. Best I have ever had....and the whole family agree.

Was busy on my visit. I thought it was quite expensive, but chips and fish were both OK. Not the best I've ever eaten, but place was clean and staff were quick and polite.

Lovely food although the fish portions could be a bit bigger. Staying nearby it was very convenient for us to walk through the snow and we were there in only 5mins. Everything was cooked freshly which pleased us.

Used this chippy one night while staying in Aveimore, same price as other chip shops fish lovely and fresh. Sat in had tea, coffee special fish and sausages suppers £16 enjoyed and would use again.

Bought our supper here quite late on in the evening. Not a huge selection of dishes on the menu and burgers not available due to lateness but fish was very good and chips were freshly cooked. Prices same as other chip shops.

Went there for dinner after a long walk and no free tables at any of the restaurants nearby. Nice chippy, good fresh fish and chips at reasonable prices.

Had a family takeway tonight - it can only have been described as fantastic. We have had several takeaways from The Chippy over the past couple of years and have always had excellent quality food at very competitive prices. I will definitely be back. Probably tomorrow night...... :)

Better than the photos above imply! Just popped in for chips spontaneously, a very clean and excellent fish and chip shop. Tucked away, queue not too long - A hidden gem!

Always enjoy going to a chip shop that gives a box as it stops the chips sweating. The chips are quite pricey but worth it as they are very tasty possibly one of the best chip shops in Scotland. All staff friendly and will certainly return is back in aviemore

2 x fish and chips. Chips ok but we were robbed on the fish as they were so thin. Bad buying and quality control. Awaiting management response....

Over priced , fish less fish bites , dry Birdseye looking fish . 6.95 for four bites of what was basically batter . £5.10 for a smoked sausage supper with no chips ( they buy them in and clearly just cut them in half Meaning for £1 super market sausages their making £4 profit . Scandalous place what a shame

Ok, so the reviews on here for the food seem quite mixed so here's my opinion from my experience.

We had two meals here in a week whilst holidaying in Aviemore. The portions were large, the haddock (one and a half pieces each) lovely and crispy and the chips far too plentiful to manage. The gravy and peas were good and again portions were large. Each order was freshly prepared after ordering. Quite a bit dearer than home though.

Lovely chip shop. Ordered a large and varied amount for a family meal on the last day of our holidays in Aviemore. Every single meal was simply delicious. No complaints and would definitely visit again when in Aviemore.

Out of the 5 of us, 3 of us ordered the 'special' haddock, special meaning that the fish was breaded. We were all looking forward to our breaded haddock as it's our preference compared to battered. Unfortunately the 3 of us were all very disappointed as the coating was very hard, especially at the outer edge making us think it wasn't freshly cooked. The fish was also very thin. The chip shop had been recommended earlier in the day by another shop owner as we were considering going to another local chip shop...we now wish we'd gone there. One of us did go for the battered haddock and to be fair it looked a lot better than the breaded version, so if you do pick this shop we'd certainly recommend choosing it. We've been put off so will be going elsewhere in future.

This did use to be a pretty good chippy but there has been more than a few times now the quantity & quality has been TERRIBLE... It should be good quality ALL the time & a decent amount for the price you pay! Don't think we will be back.

I usually go to the one opposite tescos but, today the town was really busy. For the first time I want to this chippy. The guy in front of me ordered fish and chips, so after seeing the quality of his fish, I ordered the same.

Visited during peak time on a Saturday evening. I was served very quickly. The staff were very friendly and polite. Despite the chipper being busy I didn't wait for long before getting my family order. The food was fantastic and very competitively priced. My fish was beautifully cooked with a very tasty batter and the chips were perfectly done. This is a fantastic chipper and is well worth the visit. Will I visit again? Most definitely!

Staying just around the corner in a holiday let so we opted for a chippy one night.

The trick for a good choppy is to have batter that travels home - a sausage supper, fish supper and scampi - all still crispy and tasty after drive back - yumm!

Actually one of the best I have been to for a while anywhere. Excellent chips, crisp and well cooked fish. And pretty good portion sizes too. This may become a favourite!

We were staying near to this chip shop last week and this has to be one of the best chip shops I'm ever tried. Really fresh produce and the wrapping etc stops your food sweating.

Although a mile out of town if you have your own wheels this is a sure fire hit as the food is cooked to order by personable professional staff and is cheaper than the opposition! I had the fish supper but they do everything else if you wish and if you don't there is a sit in take away pizzarea next door

What else can I say - the fish was fresh, not too greasy and the chips tasted great. Amazingly, all the things lots of chippy's seem to get wrong but not here.

Went in after several visits and purchased a chicken burger, little did I know how Ill it would make me, was up all night being sick and it ruined two days of my holiday, never again!

This modern very clean chippy wins above all the other tired looking ones in Aviemore. A little way out of town but walking distance from centre. Staff very attentive,quick polite service, 4 staff on when we went at 6pm on a thursday. Food freshly cooked before you. Cheaper prices than the others. One we visited in town had one girl serving and food was stacked up in hot showcase.
