Fantastic food & very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Dim sum was delicious & crispy duck was so tender. Wanted to try the birds nest dishes, but opted for black bean sauce instead. Was not not disappointed

Had a recent family gathering here for my girlfriends birthday. We were all made up with the attentive service. All food prepared in detail and no items wrong.

Ordered a takeaway last night after having had several great meals in house in the past. I'm afraid it wasn't nice at all, the food was luke warm at best and the egg fried rice was missing, (as was the egg when the rice finally arrived with us). When I phoned to say the rice was missing from the order, in fairness they rectified this quickly and sent someone to deliver it along with some complementary prawn crackers - thank you. However the rice was congealed, missing any egg and again barely warm! Best part of the meal was the crispy duck, the rest.... poor quality and an expensive lesson learned, dont order take away from here - sorry

Really nice. I had the Sui Mai Dim Sum and the Schezuan king prawns. I really should have checked the spelling before posting! But yes highly recommend.

Visited here last night after a friend recommended it. We were not disappointed! Service was great, small place and was packed (now I know why you have to book) the food was delicious especially the duck. Will definitely be visiting again and soon

WOW -visited Saturday evening with friends. The restaurant was very busy (we had booked), but we were shown to our waiting table straight away. Then when a bigger table came free they came and asked us if we'd like to move to give us more room which were very happy to do. Without exception, the food was fabulous, and the customer service all evening was brilliant despite the restaurant being completely full. It's only having experienced such wonderful service that we all realised how lacking this is these days almost everywhere. Well done every single one of you - can't wait to come back.

First time for me here this evening although my beautiful wife has visited previously. Couldn’t fault it, great food, good atmosphere and superb staff who all go the extra mile to make the evening even more enjoyable! We will return!

Can’t believe I’ve never been whilst living in the area all my life.. will definitely return. Food is standard UK version of Chinese cuisine but cooked to a high standard and comes out fresh & hot. Service is brilliant, each member we encountered was polite and very funny.

Lovely staff and place but unfortunately everything was far too salty. We understand Chinese food is salty but unfortunately this was a lot more salty than the four of us have ever tasted elsewhere. The soup was delicious though!

This was our first visit, we had the dim sum mixed platter for two and king prawn on a golden nest, everything was really tasty, I especially enjoyed the gyozas, but all of the starters were really good. Then we had chicken in black bean with green peppers, which was delicious, and chicken Cantonese which was also really good. We shared a portion of soft noodles. The portion size was good, it was all good value. The staff were lovely, helpful and polite. Overall we had a lovely meal.

I visited this well established venue a few days ago and ordered a takeaway of steamed dim sum and a quarter of crispy duck. Both dishes were absolutely delicious with the duck being the best I've had in ages. Stephen and his Team are professional, engaging and very informative. I'm looking forward to booking a table in the very near future when I'll be able to have the full China Room experience.

Quality food and service Reasonable prices in a nice comfortable setting

The staff are really welcoming. We got a table straight away despite it being quite busy on a Monday. The service was quick and the food was hot and tasty. We had the chicken Satay starter and the sesame King prawn with lemon and honey.

My first visit for a long time and it didn’t disappoint. Staff were attentive the service was prompt and the food excellent. A good ambiance inside . I was genuinely surprised at how busy it was for Sunday teatime but that’s the sign of a good restaurant I suppose. The only negative is that the wine list was somewhat limited and they didn’t have my wife’s favourite white wine . All in all a lovely visit and I will be back soon.

I'm coeliac so I can't have anything containing gluten the 4 times I've been they have adapted dishes for me the food has always been good, the Sunday -Thursday menu is under £20 there's a good choice of dishes I highly recommend a visit

Went for meal for the second time we had the set menu which was excellent. We love the Peking Hot & Sour Soup and the rest of the meal was great. The rest of the set menu was Salt & Pepper Ribs/Mini Spring Rolls Aromatic Crispy Duck (Served with Pancakes, Cucumber, Spring Onion & Hoi Sin Sauce) Chicken with Green Peppers in Black Bean Sauce King Prawn with Cashew Nuts (Served in Golden Bird’s Nest) Stir-fried Mixed Vegetables Egg Fried Rice. All the food was well cooked and the staff are a credit to this restaurant.

We visit here quite often. As far as Chinese Restaurants go I’d say this is one of the best I have been to. Great food, great service and an overall pleasant dining experience.

Are here recently and the service was amazing, I suffer with allergies and the staff quadruple checked everything. The food was brilliant I would definetly eat there again.

On arrival we stated that my wife is gluten free (cealiac),after discussing the menu with staff who also claimed to be gluten free- we ordered carefully recommended food- what arrived was definitely not gluten free and the staff apologised- they thought we could share a plate and give no thought to cross contamination-the management needs to take this more serious and educate/train or retrain the kitchen & front of house staff- my wife was ill for three days after and won’t be back until they improve their standards.

Have been here for the very first time. This time I came with my friends and order serval dishes. I ordered a Char Siu Fried Rice, it came in a good portion, the taste is quite good. Salt and pepper squid is really good.

Really nice place. Staff were so friendly and helpful and I was able to be comfortable with the food as I have a severe sesame allergy and they completely catered to it. We got the Set Meal D and it was really good and such a different array of foods! Will definitely be coming again

Went for a meal today 18/11/2023. As always the food was excellent , service was spot on from all the staff, with the personal touch from Stephen as always who never forgets a face or name and always greeted with a friendly smile.. The best Chinese food I've ever eaten!! My husband and I went to this restaurant for our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed! We opted for the set menu E for 2 people. The starter was a choice of either hot and sour soup or chicken and sweetcorn. We had one each and they were delicious. We then got more appetizers including ribs and spring rolls, followed by crispy duck and pancakes. The main course included sweet and sour, chicken in black beef... all absolutely amazing. The service was spot on, the restaurant was immaculate. I honestly can't say enough complements. We will definitely be back!!!!

OMG what a lovely place. How have we not discovered this place before now? We had a great time. Service was excellent, food was amazing. The place was full, we had booked and it was a good job we did. Party of 7 and nothing too much trouble for the staff.

Firstly I will go back and give it another shot as it certainly wasn't bad but I have had better. The service was good, a little flat maybe but attentive and pleasant staff. The atmosphere didn't make me feel like I was going out to have a Chinese meal bit nevertheless clean and nice. The starters were the best part of the meal.. very nice and when these arrived I thought we were on for a winner. Good value and very tasty. We had the sharing starter and my son had the chicken and sweetcorn soup. The soup was full of meat and sweetcorn and very nice and the platter was very tasty. Unfortunately the main meals were not up to the same standard. Chicken chow mein was rather tastless however was full of fresh vegetables so that was a shame as it could have been amazing. Everything else was also mediocre. Look... I think it is worth a go as this is just my opinion and I will certainly give it another chance. Thanks for the lovely service though.

Lovely Chinese place, our first visit. Welcoming, awesome staff and most importantly tasty food! I went for the chinese chicken curry with egg fried rice and my partner had duck and pancakes. We both loved it 100% would go again if in the area :)

This was my first visit to The China Room but it won't be my last. My parents had recommended the place and it's a true gem of a find with so many options to choose from! My friend who was dining with us can tolerate gluten free food only and the selection was huge (including desserts), as well as the options for vegetarians. The flavours were divine, staff welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure the experience was a positive one. Thanks to all.

Food was really nice here, lovely restaurant, nice and clean, Staff are friendly and helpful too. We was a group of 10 and it worked out at roughly £30 each which isn't to bad that's for food and drinks. The only negative thing I can say is could of done with more chips.

4 of us visited last night.....food was faultless and service was great! The chilli beef was soooo tasty as was the squid dishes and schezuan chicken. 1stvtime eating here, but won't be the last....the soup was divine too

We love this restaurant! Definitely book as it is always busy whenever we go. We had the China Room platter for starters which was lovely, then soft noodles, salt and pepper chips, salt and pepper chicken and curry sauce; it was all so good! Fresh, flavourful and such good quality. I did also try some of the dim sum but they weren't my cup of tea, but that's just personal taste. The staff are lovely and can't do enough for you. We were given the wrong bill at first but this was soon changed. Definitely recommend and we will be back! In the past I have had the chicken in satay sauce which is great too.

Again another good meal and staff were always helpful, great little place not rushed through had time to enjoy the meal, they are not worried if you need to change sauce as maybe to hot, goof price. Great evening.thanks.

The food is the best once you've been and eaten here you won't go elsewhere . Is a little more expensive than most places but it's all in the food.

Always first class food, service, friendly staff

I really enjoyed my meal here. It was fairly busy on a Tuesday evening, but not noisy at all. The atmosphere is really nice, and the decor and furniture are comfortable. The food was really good and hot, decent portions and tasty. And the staff were attentive. We got a doggy bag from the main course.

Awful from start to finish for me. I ordered king prawns in OK sauce which was highly priced £13.95, i was disappointed when my dish arrived on a flat plate with an huge amount of RAW onion with lack of sauce. The prawns was not fresh they tasted cooked from frozen no taste to them at all & very watery. The service wasn't what i expected. We wasn't asked if everything was okay. I didn't want to make a fuss we would never come here again.

Fantastic food, surroundings and staff. Every course was served piping hot and the portion sizes were very generous. No idea how some people can complain they were small... we were absolutely stuffed. Took a cake for my sons 13th birthday and they were mire than happy to light the candles and let us slice it to eat there. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend 👌

Always enjoy our nights at the China Room. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much effort for them. The first time we took our friends there they said it was the best Chinese restaurant they'd been to. We tend to get the set meals as they are extremely good value and you can swap out dishes for similar priced dishes that you prefer.

Fab meal last night as always I had crispy chilli beef hubby had special curry both delicious. Brill service and nice talking to the lovely lady who works there she is an absolute asset to the restaurant so warm and friendly.

Dairy free food. Food hear always taste nice. Staff are friendly too

Visited tonight and had a lovely meal. We had the mixed platter and salt and pepper chicken wings for starters. The best salt and pepper wings I have ever had! Then we had sweet and sour chicken, followed by chocolate fudge cake and Eaton mess. All the food and service was excellent, thank you!

Seated and served drinks, over 30 minutes passed 3 tables that arrived after us were ordered and served food. We were just completely ignored. When we decided to leave we were given an apology. Half hearted at that. No attempt to rectify the issue or even offer to take our food order. Would have given no stars if I could. Will not return. Service is basic and this place has none what so ever. Shame as the food is lovely.

Warm welcome greeted us by Steve's staff and the professionalism stayed all night. We were served by the friendly and knowledgeable Josh, a young man who knows the menu well and was happy to swap a few ingredients around to make sure we were happy with our choices.He was friendly, efficient and being a waiter is something that comes natural to him, we were delighted to be served by him. Food was superb as usual and the minor adjustments we made were spot on ! Delicious, hot and tasty and looked after by a great member of the team..Thanks Josh we can't wait to come back and don't forget...try the veggie Lettuce Wrap ! Food is tasty, beef slightly over cooked. Portions really small, the expensive stuff will be served on flat plates and the cheapest will be served in bowls. £52 for what is in the photos plus 1 portion of prawn crackers, 1 JD and coke and 1 larger. Service was good. If you like small portions of food this is the place for you.

Had an excellent meal tonight from the a la carte menu. The chicken wraps were terrific as were the salt and pepper ribs. Our mains, sreamed sea bass and scallops in OK sauce with asparagus and special fried rice can only be described as sensational!...

Busy but nice and pleasant. Food was nice, good value for money, staff were lovely, didn't rush us but came over when we needed anything. I Will return again and will also recommend to others. The chicken wings and prawns for starters tasted amazing and my food was delicious but Chinese food doesn't like me as much as I enjoy it. Doesn't stop me though.

Firstly, the staff were amazing and kind!! Yet the service was very mid!!! The food was okay but not nearly amazing!!! Not one of the 5 of us walked out thinking that it was a great meal!!! And nobody returned after we asked for the bill so we ended up going to the bar ourselves!! It was okay, the staff held this one together!!!!
