I don't like many chippys but this one is great, I like proper British fish and chips and jennys house makes brilliant chippy tea. Chips are always perfect, plenty of salt and vinegar 😋. They do Chinese food too.

When I phoned up they told me to go back and they would make me another. When I got back to the chippie, one lady started accusing me in front of a shop full of people of lieing. (*Why would I lie about ordering my food without vegetables). It was really embarrassing for someone who doesn't like situations like that. When she gave me the food, she told me again that I need to order it without vegetables. I again told her that I did but she just looked at me as if I was lieing. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. PRETTY DISGRACEFUL BEHAVIOUR FROM A BUSINESS 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Excellent take away for Chinese food or English fish and chips

Was told to try this Chinese takeaway today by a guy from Direct Meat as Chinese Chef was closed, glad I made the choice the food was amazing

I never do bad reviews but … I ordered chips, peas , pudding and gravy and suffered bad food poisoning from here tried to ring today but closed.. when finally spoke to them, they said they have loads of people eat there puddings and not get poisoning , didn’t really solve the issue , didn’t care, and no follow up

Always fantastic service. Telephone ordered and picked up. No wait time, when they state a time, it's nearly spot on. Great selection of traditional fish and chips and Chinese cuisine. Staff are very friendly.

Overcharged for food and chips weren't fully cooked non of us enjoyed the food maybe they were just having an off day so could be willing to give it another go and try again at some point in the future but I doubt it

I'm not sure who Jenny is but the food that comes from their house is spot on, a tiny bit expensive but it's a local business and bills are mad at the moment, quality of the food makes it worth it :)

Fish is probably the best in the area, cooked just right but service is usually excruciatingly slow. Chips are good too. However, this evening I was short changed by £5 and when challenged, within seconds, instead of correcting a mistake they argued a bit then had to go off and review the video evidence which took some time but proved me right. The assistant then put a £5 note in a tray and started giggling, no apology for the error or disbelieving me. I asked whether she thought short changing customers was funny - no response. The other assistant did then apologise. Lesson: check your change or better still use the exact money. Mistakes happen but put them right, don't compound it by making the customer feel like a liar then not apologising.

Never had a bad meal there apart from on one occasion they forgot the chips only realised when arrived home and couldn't be bothered to drive back but excellent food there would recommend

I've been going here ever since I could walk here and buy a Scotland after school just for 40p and when I've had money I've always had Chips pudding peas and gravy just because but 8 do admit when jenny is shut I go to chaues chippy on tonge moor Road but I do really like jenny House chippy and just memories of coming here growing up and getting a bag of chips for walking home

Salt&Pepper dishes are really good ✨Honestly, I think it’s the best one in Bolton and staff there are nice and friendly. I’ve had food from Jenny’s for years. On the fish&chips side, I’ll say - they are high standards, especially the lightly battered fish. The size of course will be slightly smaller than the standard ones, it’s reasonable to me tho

I have to make a public complaint about how the fish are getting smaller and smaller, I have been a regular customer at Jenny's for 20 years and I can accurately state that the fish served are now tiny, this is a deliberate decision to charge customers full-price for a much smaller fish.I have shopped at various chippy's in Bolton and all are much larger than Jenny's and are all similar sized, making it glaringly obvious that Jenny's are selecting fish much smaller than their local competitors and still charging full-price. It's outrageous to treat customers like this, we deserve value for our money. Family, friends and acquaintances agreed with me when I raised the issue, they too have noticed a reduction in the size of the fish, we even bought a fish from Jenny's and one from another chippy to compare the two and the other chippy's fish dwarfed Jenny's...but importantly both was the same price. Their shenanigans have lost my custom...I refuse to be exploited like this.

Food is delicious. Freshly cooked to order. Chinese food is brilliant, as is English food, we usually have both! Worth a visit.

Great service we called in as she was finishing up and she turned the fryer back on for us. Brilliant!

Went in for fish and chips tonight as a treat. Was very disappointed. The chips were so full of bright yellow oil soft and sloppy. The oil was dripping out of the fish. Had to wrap the fish In kitchen tissue before I could even think about eating it. As for the chips they were not edible at all. What a waste of money £9.40 and it went in the bin. Never will I ever go there again. Not the same as it was a few years ago. I called to complain and the lady said oh it’s new potatoes I don’t think so just cooking chips in cold dirty oil more like. Will not advise any one to go here.

This chippy is underrated, always cook fish fresh in front of you. Always piping hot. can be pricey but worth it as it’s cooked in front of you and not sat.

Food is lovely and not salty like most Chinese, also open at lunchtime

By far the best chippy for miles. Chinese meals are consitantly good as well but speak up if you want mild. 3 chilli dishes may blister untrained lips & I love my spicy.

Not great for the money very expensive for the food you get not sure the chicken was real in the mixed curry thats why I score so low everything else was not to bad maybe a 3 we will not be returning very soon we will try somewhere else

What a great chippy. The lovely staff here have done the best fish, chips & peas on Tonge Moor Rd for years. Open 6 days a week for dinner then again from tea time until 11 p.m. The Chinese menu is also good and good value but beware of the Chilli ratings 1= hot 3= flipping eck! However like most chippies they don't deliver I wouldn't think that battered fish travels well!

Superb food. All dishes are freshly prepared using good quality ingredients and are full of flavour and really delicious. Prices are very very reasonable and you get a lot for your money. Best takeaway in Bolton.

We've been coming here for years. By far the best Chinese take away food in Bolton if not the north west. The chicken n mushroom is our favourite, highly recommend!!

This chippy is fantastic! Proper fish & chips and the options of perfect Chinese food! Sweet & Sour is delicious. Great service, very friendly staff. Regularly went here when I lived in Bolton. The only thing I miss about Bolton is Jenny's House Chippy!! (Much better than Chae's down the road)

So-so chippy with not very good portion size...no good parking...food is average...Plenty better chippies round here.

Chips too hard, like they've been cooked and cooked again, fish didn't seem to fresh but the kids liked the sausages

I've never had a bad meal here yet been going for ages and the owners are very nice and polite . The fish are huge I would say if you put 3 cans of coke end to end that's about the size of them . So fish and chips will feed 2 people unless you are very hungry
