Fantastic evening for a friend’s birthday celebration. Huge choice of food which is always gorgeous and plenty of it. Salah usually recommends something yummy and really tries to find out what you like. He is the perfect host and nothing is ever too much trouble. It’s become our regular place to go now and we can bring our own drinks which is fabulous. I’d recommend Chilli Tree 100%!

Hi, It’s Pat from Delaware (East coast of the US). We are here staying in their flat with our friends, C and G. C grew up in Bexhill (and attended Sunday School in this very building when it was still a church!). Before learning about Chilli Tree we previously had gone to Mowgli on the oceanfront where we were largely ignored throughout the meal (to be fair they had a very large group in the back room to attend). Though the food was okay it was pricey. While looking for a restaurant for my birthday dinner I read reviews on the seven Indian/Asian restaurants in and near Bexhill, and found on balance the greatest praise and positive comments about Chilli Tree and Sal, the owner. We came prepared for his attentive, joking manner, and had a delightful back and forth across a wide spectrum of topics. The food was plentiful, along with a number of free sides. All the dishes were mild at our request due to the palate of one of our party. A Chicken Grill dish (also free) was tender and delicious! Lamb balti, garlic mushroom, chole masala, lamb saagwala all had nice flavor (though the lamb was a bit chewy), and the rice was light and flavorful. Each dish was prepared well, though we did find the Chicken Kurma was very sweet (we are much more used to a savory Kurma back home). Many restaurateurs tend to be personable as it is in their best interest to engage with their customers. Sal is super-attentive, yet does so with aplomb and a good-natured repartee! Chilli Tree will be on our schedule for our return trips to Bexhill !! Thanks Saleh for helping to make my birthday special.

We were a party of 9 work friends and I would recommend this restaurant. We went for an evening meal and found friendly attentive service from the owner whose name I'm afraid I don't know. He gave us several extra dishes for free. We took our own drinks as they do not service alcohol. The food was delicious, hot and cooked to perfection. There is a small car park on-site.

This restaurant is amazing. The owner and staff are very welcoming on arrival. The food is absolutely delicious. The owner also gave extra dishes for free. There was so much we couldn’t eat it all. As 9 guests we all got the right meal that we had ordered and it was all piping hot. We all took our own alcohol and the restaurant provided us with glasses and ice. They do sell soft drinks there if you want too. We just took our own. Desserts were delicious too. The owner is funny and ready to meet your needs. The quality of the food was 5* and we will all definitely be returning. The prices are also very good. Excellent place to eat. Would highly recommend.

I have been abroad for nearly a year and came home briefly for Christmas. The Chilli Tree has been my favourite Indian restaurant since I was a teenager, and I had been craving a chicken bhuna for a good part of the year. So I asked my parents if we could order an Indian takeaway the day before I flew back abroad. It was so delicious! I'm sorry we couldn't come in to eat, but I would love to when I'm back. Till next year!

This restaurant is by far the best.... After having to cancel my birthday meal for 6 of us for my birthday due to the stromey weather last week only 2 of us could go. We had to go through the kitchen cos the owner was stuck in Kent, but the staff were very accommodating and apologetic. The food was still the best. The next morning the manager phones me to offer myself and friends a free meal ( where else would you get that service? ) We went back tonight and could not be happier with the service, food and company. This restaurant and staff come very highly recommend from me. Thank you salah for your hospitality and generosity.

Great night out, good food and good service will go again

The food at the Chilli Tree is just incredible and plenty of it too! The service is fantastic, front of house could not make you feel more welcome. There are clearly a good number of regulars - if I lived closer I fear I may be one!

If you'd never had takeaway from here , you'd probably walk right by, from the outside it's not the most attractive building. Once you get inside however you get a warm friendly welcome, a very interesting menu that contains the classic English curry House dishes but also lots of unique different recipes. The food is delicious ( having had delivery from here before I wasn't surprised), with decent portion sizes and good value. If you fancy eating out rather than take out one night, it's very worth a visit.£20 a head gets you a lot of food and a doggy bag to go

From the moment you walk in , you are welcomed like family. The hosts go above and beyond to make your time there special. The food matches the service in its excellence. I highly recommend it!

We booked a family table for today to eat out for the very first time as normally I’d cook after spending the day at work so it was nice to be waitered on today , we shall be going back next year as we couldn’t have had a better meal anywhere else especially with the excellent service from stepping inside the door from the very attentive host and lovely waitresses. Two of my family members are vegetarian and although there wasn’t anything on the menu my daughter liked Sal went out of his way to make sure they had something, even for my grandson, great service all round as well as excellent food, we weren’t rushed and felt like we was at home enjoying ourselves nothing was to much trouble highly recommend the chilli tree if you’ve not been before you won’t be disappointed

Absolutely fantastic food and so much choice. Much better than other Indian restaurants we have been to. The owner greets you and is very friendly. Had some poppadoms free of charge and dips which was delicious. Starter's and mains delicious and such a good price. Went here for our daughter's birthday who is Autistic 🎂😘 We went on a Thursday and it wasn't busy at all there was us and another table. Owner was absolutely lovely and got our daughter a bunch of flowers for her birthday as she doesn't like Cake.🎂 The Owner is so thoughtful and makes you feel welcomed. We love this place food and company is fantastic and would highly recommend this restaurant to our friends as we have no family in the area. We will be going back in the near future or ordering Takeout. Fantastic all round at a great price and you can take your own booze and not be charged for it.😁👍👍👍👍

First time visitor to the Chilli Tree... well worth the visit and once you've eaten here you'll definitely return as the food is absolutely fantastic with incredible flavours and decent portions all at a great price. The menu has some really interesting and unusual dishes and I'm looking forward to trying more. The owner is welcoming and friendly and it's all very laid back. Give it a go... you won't be disappointed

Really surprised great atmosphere really friendly food was best I’ve had and not expensive definitely going to be regular eat out for us they do takeout but I prefer to eat in because of the atmosphere we’ll recommend

We came over on a Friday evening to place an order for collection, we returned at the time specified and food was hot and ready. On return to our accommodation for the weekend, we had an abundance of food and it was excellent. The owner is great and beyond helpful and we will return to sample the restaurant in a few weeks. If you want a great takeaway or eat in we highly recommend the chilli tree.

A great place to eat in or takeaway! I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal from here! The service is second to non! Would definitely recommend trying it out!!

Got food from here twice on Uber eats owner is so lovely! answered any questions I had when I called and the food is amazing! I don’t ever write reviews but the service is so good I needed to do one also have had extras thrown in for free that I didn’t purchase which was even better! if you’re going to get a curry order from here will now be my go to :)

Had a fantastic meal here with my family while staying in Pevensey, we were looking for a good curry and struggling to find one so weren't sure what to expect. But the food and the service was just brilliant, the owner went above and beyond to make sure we had a great meal and it was truly tasty including best bhajis we've ever had! Being able to bring our own alcohol was a bonus and the whole meal for 7 of us was really good value. Highly recommend paying a visit! Wish he would relocate back to London so we could enjoy his food more often....

Take away or resturaunt this place is fabulous. Sala is such a dote lovely host wonderful food. Top Indian in Bexhill. You should travel here too its well worth the trip.

We are new to the area and used trip advisor to find this absolute gem. Very friendly proprietor who gave us excellent recommendations and then was so good to us… can’t rate this highly enough… the food was outstanding, will definitely be back!

Very average curry. It comes with “extras” which are a waste in my opinion. Namely to hide the rest of the meals are pretty underwhelming. Not somewhere I’d rush back to.

Ordered a takeaway last Sunday and the owner was so lovely and helpful. I couldn’t find a vegetarian option that I wanted online, so called to ask if they had it, the owner not only made the option but also put extra vegetarian things for us to try! Food was amazing and we even had it for the next two days as there was so much! Will definitely be ordering from the Chilli Tree again 😍

Oh my goodness it was INCREDIBLE! The food was the best Indian I have had in my life! The man was so lovely and kind and even gave us some extra food as well which we were very grateful for, me and my family will definitely returning again when we feel like having an Indian again, the flavours were just amazing! I can't stress how good this restaurant was from employees to the food just 5 stars. Fair price and big portions take me back to how restaurants used to be. There's no cut on quality food was amazing could taste the passion that these guys have for good food. You will not regret, nor will you forget this place Amazing

Beautiful food and excellent service. Can’t say enough good things. Huge portions too! I had the Tindaloo and it was hot but balanced with flavour and not oily as many are.

Me and my boyfriend went there for the first time last night and it was lovely !! The food was wonderfully presented and delicious and as for the service, well, the staff were very welcoming and the owner was lovely and helpful, very chatty. I loved that he came up and took our orders and made sure we had all we wanted in our meal. Lovely atmosphere!! We are definitely going there again. Can’t wait!

Best curry house around, in the restaurant and takeaway, the food is absolutely amazing everytime can't fault it, never had any issues its always delicious, portion sizes are very good, the service from the owner is absolutely outstanding nothing is ever to much. Would 100% recommend !!!

Just had a takeaway delivered, randomly incorrect dishes, the ones that were delivered are just not nice, 90% of it has just gone in the bin. Total waste of money. The poppadoms were nice but it’s hard to mess them up.

I am therefore,I am Nil by mouth.why go to a restaurant you,say. Bear with me. First, there ia always a warm welcome. Remember i'm in a wheelchair,withe ventilators etc. Sala,iimedeately organieed a place we could sit without being in the way. I told him about,my problem and told him my problem.,But I could drop a. Swab in sauce. Sala said , leave. It to me I,will create especialy for me. He treated,all my party,as special. Whenever he spoke to me, he did that, he didnt,address my wife or carer. He spoke to ME.He created a vegan vegtable Jalfrais .a spicy hot one. It was lovely. The point is, when you are disabled, to be treated normally,means so much. Amazing meal here the other week. I'm celiac and although kitchen handles some wheat products so no guarantee no cross contamination. I felt very reassured as the host knew what celiac was and what measures can be taken to reduce risks. Happy to say i had a gorgeous tasty meal and no problems. Service was brilliant and food flawless. Going back very soon for sure.

Ordered takeaway for the first time this evening , to be delivered. The menu was very extensive, and ordering online was very straight forward . Food was delivered on time , it was hot and absolutely delicious with a few extras thrown in . Thank you Chilli Tree I will definitely be eating from this restaurant again. Can highly recommend .

I cannot recommend this curry house enough. Me and 5 others attended on the 17th of november. We were spoiled with the amount of food that was brought out. We were given free starters and sides to share with the table. Plus some extra dishes for us to try. Everything tasted amazing and the service is fantastic. Incredibly friendly host, nothing is ever too much trouble. You are guaranteed a great meal and a great experience. Such a great variety of dishes to choose from too. I am a regular and will keep coming back Also side note, the takeways are brilliant too. Had one the friday before and was incredible. Even went to the effort of adding extras for us. First time ordering from them last night, meal appeared nice and the staff were accomodating.... TO GOOD TO BE TRUE. This morning our whole house has woken up with extreem sickness and an upset stomach. We have had to call in sick at work.... i have never felt pain like it, my stomach has been ripped to shreds. Host Saleh was first class, recommended dishes for my fussy partner, all of which she loved. All food was delicious, including some different dishes you wouldn't normally find. Atmosphere was brilliant, would highly recommend and would come back.

We have been wanting to eat at the Chilli Tree for a while so on Monday 24th October I called to book a table for the following Saturday. The person who I spoke to went to the trouble of explaining that they don’t serve alcohol...

The owner is super helpful and nice and goes out of his way for you, giving you extras even! BUT he needs a new seafood supplier as they were some kind of seafood stick type substance and not real prawns. We couldn’t eat there again...

My partner and I had a takeaway from here a few weeks ago. I'm not a curry fan, but this curry was delicious. It was that good that we went out for dinner there last night. I'm so surprised at how dead it was in there. Its clearly not known enough. The owner is a friendly, welcoming and chatty man. The food was again very good, the owner gave us some sides to try! As I told him I hadn't tried much before as I wasn't really a fan until I had curry the other week. All of the food was very flavoursome. Good pricing. I'd definitely recommend going.

A pick purely on the basis of Trip Adviser rating and an excellent curry was had by all. The manager was very friendly and helpful, I went with his recommendation of Garlic chilli chicken which was superb as was the chicken tikka scandal he did...

Another excellent meal. Wide ranging menu, fresh ingredients, very tasty & great service. As a curry lover who lives near Bradford this is my go to when in Bexhill.
