Excellent takeaways always so went in to their very bijoux set of maybe 5 tables. Super service, super food and excellent all round BEST takeaway and in store Chinese dining for miles. Take away is slightly more expensive than elsewhere but reflected in portion sizes which are slightly bigger on everything . Cannot fault this place….LOVE IT!

We decided to have a takeaway on return from holiday after a long day's travelling. We had not experienced Sunrise Gourmet before but were amazed by the Set Menu B for two persons. The dishes were superbly cooked, hot and delicious and more than enough for a couple with very healthy appetites. Can't wait to use them again and would encourage others to enjoy their meals. Highly recommended!

Staff were extremely polite and helpful, and the aroma of other peoples food made our mouths water, whilst waiting for our food to arrive. The food as always, was absolutely delicious. We had mixed starters, followed by a range of their main courses, with rice and chow mein. One of our party was a pescatarian and she very much enjoyed her Prawn Toasts. They were chunky and flavoursome. I had the Sweet and Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style and Egg fried rice, which was very tasty. Some of us had room for pudding, and I had a Toffee Banana. Again, very nice if you can squeeze it in after all the other delicious food! Will definitely go back again. This is one of the few, if not only, eat-in Chinese restaurants in Bexhill and it's a really nice intimate place to go for a family meal. Not too loud, so you can enjoy conversation, and on the plus side they have wheelchair accessible toilets too, if needed.

Delightful little family run Chinese restaurant. Excellent food and service. Would thoroughly recommend. Unfortunately we live too far away to take advantage of it's takeaway menu but we'll definitely be visiting again.

Waited an hour and a half for food which was bland and tasteless very disappointed .Will not be going there again in the future.

Was very disappointed in the service and the meal. I ordered and was told it would be an hour for pick up. I went down to pick up my order and still waited another half an hour before I got my order. There were four other people that came in after me and got there food before me. The food was bland and tasteless, certainly not what I expected. Very disappointed

Very, very disappointed after being recommended. Sweet and sour sauce definitely had no sour flavour. It was like a sweet jam. Could taste no ginger nor see any sign of spring onion in chicken dish. We thoroughly enjoyed the prawn curry and appreciated the prawn crackers.

We've been getting takeaways from Sunrise Gourmet for the past 9 years and with a hand on heart it's the best Chinese food one can buy in UK. We've been getting takeaways all over London but stopped doing it as once you eat good quality meal at Sunrise Gourmet, you just don't want to buy anything else as it's not even close to being anything good. It's always clean inside the restaurant ( which since covid is closed but that's where you wait or food is being transferred from), never any nasty smells coming out from the kitchen. Staff is polite, helpful and welcoming and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended by us, our friends and family.

We had a takeaway for four of us and it was absolutely delicious. A big order was phoned in the day before and it arrived the following day, on time and no order mistakes. One of our favourite takeaways 😁😁

This is a take away restaurant only. We looked at TripAdvisor reviews so chose this one for the 1st time. All in all we were impressed. Portions are generous so we had the leftovers for lunch the following day. The ribs were large and not the usual miniscule ones you usually get. I did find I wanted more flavour but that's probably a personal choice. We particularly like pancake rolls (larger than spring rolls) but they weren't on the menu which was disappointing. We will probably visit again at some point.

I decided to use this Chinese restaurant after doing my research of Chinese takeaways in my local area. This Chinese had the best reviews and an excellent food hygiene rating. It was my daughter’s 18th Birthday celebration and we were having 30 people round to celebrate. My daughter had requested a Chinese banquet and had chosen her favourite food. This Chinese is further away from our house than others but we obviously wanted to provide a good meal for everyone. I telephoned a couple of days before explaining we were catering for 30 people and what we wanted off the menu. A helpful lady phoned an hour later saying she had spoken to the chef and they had worked out quantities for 30 people and I paid for the food over the phone. We ordered 7 dishes in total and it was very reasonably priced. My husband collected the takeaway at the agreed time. We live 15 minutes away and when he arrived back the food was too hot to touch. I put it in a warming oven until I was ready to serve it. The food was amazing and plentiful. There was enough for everyone to have a large portion and seconds and thirds. Some of our guests took it home too. Since our banquet we have had so many positive comments about the food and people have asked where the Chinese came from and many have said it was the best Chinese they had had. Thank you for making our celebrations memorable.

Sadly the food was the worst chinese I have ever had it all went in the bin I was so very disappointed.

We had set menu B for 2 people takeaway. The portions were generous in fact three of us sat down to dinner and there was plenty. It was well packed and nicely presented. We live 5 mins from the shop so we’re very disappointed that it was at best lukewarm and the noodles were cold. We microwaved the food in the end to make it more palatable. I’ve rated a 3 due to the temperature issue (because when warmed through it was delicious), otherwise it would have been a 5.

Very disappointing, food was either burnt or bland. The spring rolls were clearly shop bought, chicken balls were burnt, the rice was bland and the chicken in the chowmein was horrible! Looked and tasted horrible. This was delivery so maybe in shop food is better but not one I'd recommend sadly...Bexhill do better

Sunday "All you can eat" Lunch was very good and food and tablecloth very clean! Beer & Wine served with an adequate take-away service. Parking outside very handy and the bill excludes service charge!

Not the cheapest but spotlessley clean, lovely staff and fabulous food. Would definately recommend. Changed to take-away only during Covid and not yet reverted to a dine in service.

The veggie hot and sour soup was exceptional. It is a very good Chinese takeaway which was worth waiting for on Saturday which can be very busy over the weekend.

Best Chinese in Bexhill by far! Fantastic service, lovely friendly staff who always make you feel welcome and an individual. Efficient as they know your last order so takeaway is quickly ordered. The food is always delicious fresh and consistently so too. Can't recommend enough and can't wait to be back in in the restaurant too!

One thing Bexhill is not short of is Chinese cuisine but Sunrise Gourmet is the best by a country mile. The quality of the cooking never dips regardless of eating in or taking out and the service faultless. Looking forward to being able to enjoy table service again in 2021....

This was the first order we had placed, and we’re so glad we tried the Sunrise Gourmet! The food really is excellent. The service was very efficient, the young lady who was dealing with the orders was very polite and conscientious. Overall awe thought they were doing a great job in demanding times and definitely recommend them. We can’t wait for our next takeaway!

Ordered from here as our usual one was shut. Read the reviews so thought we'd give it a try. Wasn't impressed at all and it was expensive. Won't be going back.

Genuinely the best Chinese I've ever had. Huge portions. Chicken balls were crispy and not oily. Starter for 2 left us full. We will never go elsewhere from now on!

Best in town, way ahead in the game! First time today they delivered a little late, however considering the circumstance it was expected. However they rang to let me know, and they gave a couple of free cold beers with a little note apologising! Dont get much better than that.

They tell you a delivery time and then call you 10 minutes after it’s due to say it’s delayed!! Not impressed.

Family of 4 visit on 21sr February. Food was excellent, service was excellent and very friendly. Would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great quality food at a reasonable price in pleasant surroundings and with great service. My daughter drinks a lot of water, and her glass was constantly topped up without ever having to ask.

Back for daughter's birthday. Good starters (mostly deep fried from frozen) but the Ho Fun thick noodles were not properly cooked- like cardboard, hard stuck together. We pointed this out and were told how they SHOULD be cooked - but I know that. No offer of a reduction in price. It's how a company deals with complaints that counts.

Eaten in and taken away here. Food is brilliant! Not your normal greasy sad Chinese. Great service, great food.

Visiting Bexhill-On-Sea for a concert and craving a Chinese meal. Saw the Sunrise Gourmet on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. Clean, welcoming interior, decked out with Christmas lights and decorations. I ordered the crispy chilli beef, aromatic crispy lamb with pancakes and smoked chilli chicken. All were perfectly prepared and flavoursome and certainly well above average for these dishes. Service was efficient, but unobtrusive. Immaculate toilets. Recommended and worth seeking out if you’re in the area.

We ordered a take away from here a few days ago. We were told half an hour as we were collecting the order. It was ready on our arrival and there were prawn crackers and a bottle of cola included free, which was a nice touch. When we paid we received a 10% discount too. The food was very good and there was plenty of it. We will be back.

Walked in to this restaurant without reservation, hoping to get a table. It was reasonably busy, but had a couple of tables free. We walked to the back to make our presence known, whereupon a rather unfriendly face peeped out from behind and went away again. Good start. Within a couple of moments, my partner and I noticed how smokey it was in the dining room, almost suffocating actually. In that instant we decided not to stay for dinner. You may wonder why I take the time to write a review of a restaurant at which we did not dine. Restaurants and their kitchens which have inadequate extraction/ventilation solutions really annoy me, and sadly there are a lot of them around. It’s an unpleasant environment in which to sit and eat, no matter how good the company or the food. And it’s so unnecessary. I was really disappointed to encounter this here, as the reviews for this restaurant seemed excellent, and it’s a nice change to find a good dining experience close to home. Think of your customers, and ventilate properly. Won’t be coming through your door again until you do.

Went to this restaurant on Saturday evening with my family for my husband's birthday. As always it was really lovely. I have been to this restaurant many times, at the end of our meal the owner gave my husband a birthday drink. I can recommend the food here and the cleanliness is first class. So thank you. Susan

Have been looking for a Chinese restaurant for a while and after reading the reviews decided to give this restaurant a go. So glad we did, I agree with previous comments do not judge on it’s kerb appeal which, is zero. Staff were welcoming and not intrusive. As Asian culture is efficiency sometimes you can feel rushed, however not here. We had a lovely relaxed evening. We chose aromatic duck which was nice. To follow we had Kung po chicken succulent and prawn with cashew generous portion. Singapore chow mein was tasty. Complimentary prawn crackers too. Will be returning.

Visited here on 8 June. We had been looking for a decent Chinese restaurant for a while. Eureka we have found one! This little sweetie in Bexhill is just scrumlitoous!We have exhausted Eastbourne and surrounding areas in a search for a satisfying Chinese restaurant. This little gem has us looking forward to next time. Small impersonal and laid back with lots of mouth watering dishes. Honey,coconut chicken is well worth trying!As with most Chinese restaurants it isn't cheap eats, around £65 with 1 beer and 1 glass of wine, which is about average. But if you are going to enjoy it as much as we did, then well worth it. The food is anything but average!!

Wow!! Love Chinese food. Have eaten it in many countries too. The Sunrise Gourmet, a small eaterie and takeaway in Bexhill, is the nicest Chinese food I have had in the south east yet! Try it and see....

Read the reviews and booked a table on Saturday night. Fulfilled an ambition by having soft shelled crab which was superb. As was the crispy beef, king prawns with mushrooms, sweet & sour chicken and chow mein. Very busy with deliveries so courses took a little time but great service from Lynn and Cam, Hey good food is worth waiting for and its nice to pace the meal. Restaurant is cosy and warm and great clean disabled toilet I needed. With only around 24 seats you need to book , it will be worth it. I cant wait to visit again for for exotic dishes.

We visited this restaurant whilst in Bexhill and was very pleasantly surprised as from the outside it is very plain. However once inside the decor is lovely and the food totally delicious. I had the duck and pancakes and it was wonderful. We also had prawns and cashews and lemon chicken - all superb. The lemon chicken is excellent. Probably the star of the show was the dim sum that we had to wait 15 minutes for but it is certainly worth the wait. We will be returning!!!

Small place, you have to book, spotless decor and tableware, good service. Food is very fresh, great tempura, soft shell crab. Your favourites will be here. Wine is pricey, though.

Had delivery of my meal. Well...... The sauce was more like water. Wouldnt recomend this place at all. Would like a full refund if possible. Wont be going back there ill stick with china garden.

Takeaway was late. Chicken was inedible, like eating cardboard. They refused a refund also as they had no other complaints that night. Fabulous way of keeping customers ay!!

We often go to this friendly little restaurant which in my opinion is the best Chinese in the area and my wife who is Chinese also thinks it is excellent . It's nicer inside than it looks from the street .

I have been a frequent diner here for quite some time but the last meal i consumed from here was very unpleasant. I'm not sure if new cook have been hired but the meal was full of oil and tasteless to say the least. When the consistency of a great service dips, my custom will disappear.

Had lunch here today. Although we were the only diners who were celebrating a birthday we were well looked after. The food was hot and delicious and the waitress was very attentive and as one of our party does not do garlic she chose dishes which did not contain garlic. We all chose different dishes so had a good variety of pick and mix. It is very small so suggest you book. They also do take away.

The Sunrise Gourmet is a small Chinese restaurant away from the centre of Bexhill. It’s well organised and very friendly. They also do some Thai and Malaysian dishes. The wide selection of food between four of us was all good and very tasty. Bottled Thai and Singapore beer plus some reasonable wine as well.

Visited for the first time following recommendation from our neighbours. What a fabulous place. Ultra clean and tidy. Very friendly hostess.

We used this takeaway last night for the first time. We've never ordered a takeaway Chinese since moving to Bexhill and had no idea where go, so we picked this one out of the blue. We're glad we did as it's one of the best takeaways we've had and reasonably priced. We will return in the future.

We use Sunrise Gourmet as our go-to Chinese and it never disappoints. We have eaten in the restaurant several times and ordered take-aways too. The menu is extensive and offers a good choice for everyone.

I was pleasantly surprised by the take-away this restaurant did - sauces not over-heavy, beef and duck perfectly cooked, flavoursome spring rolls and vegetables, including delicious pak choi. Among the best chinese take-away I've had, and prices reasonable. I would definitely recommend.

Having had a busy weekend with family we all decided rather than cooking at home that we would get a takeaway . As we were hungry and our original choice wasn't open for another hour we decided to get a Chinese from the Sunrise , we ordered a number of dishes several of which we hadn't tried and adjourned to the local pub while it was being cooked . Twenty or so minutes later we collected the meal and headed home . What a delicious feast we had , the food was hot and absolutely delicious with a wide variety of food !

We ordered a takeaway, the crispy duck was good but the chicken with cashews was completely tasteless as was the king prawn chow mien. It wasn't cheap and was very disappointing. We will not be returning.

My favourite place to go for Chinese food! Brilliant service and absolutely delicious food! Especially the dim sum and sizzling dishes! The flavour is absolutely amazing! I've been several times and always had a lovely experience and the most yummy food and massive portion sizes! Very reasonable prices too! I've also ordered takeaways and the portion sizes are very generous! Everyone is so friendly. I highly recommend for a nice Chinese meal!
