We had a very pleasant lunch in this cosy and friendly cafe. It opens on Monday and Wednesday lunchtimes to help students with special needs gain valuable experience in the catering industry. The food was freshly cooked to a high quality and very reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and a great way to support young people with special needs.

I was there today with my 10 month old baby. I had a beautiful cappuccino and we shared a delicious sugar free biscuit for 2,50£. There was enough room for her to practice walking and crawling and lots of toys to play while I relaxed on the sofa. There's an inviting garden with tables. We loved it and will visit again soon.

This is a wonderful place away from the busy part of the High Street where you can get a home made quality meal and a variety of drinks for a very reasonable price. More importantly it is a community project that supports and employs those less fortunate and born with various problems and issues, providing employment for them with abled bodied support working alongside them. All the staff are charming, polite and welcoming and it is truly a humbling experience using these facilities. They have a quiet garden area although this does seem rather neglected recently. Overall a great facility and one that should be supported otherwise it will cease to exist.

I visited the Cherry Tree Cafe (TCTC) for the first time last year, and I must tell you: it's great, By: - Employing adults with special needs, - Setting a simple menu for the wealthy E11 mums and dads, and - Setting simple prices for the poorer E10 customer (me) ...the TCTC seems to be aimed at everyone. And these three things are perhaps what makes it unique over any other cafe I know of in East London. I think it runs differently from the other excellent cafes on the High Street; I believe it is a community project, in part, set up to employs adults with special needs (I hope that doesn't sound politically incorrect, condescending, or worst of all, 'middle class' - sorry if it does). TCTC serve good quality cakes; hot and cold snacks; and decent-enough coffee. Opposite a great playground and lovely park; next to the library; and right next to the High Street, it is ideal for parents with small children. Great at the weekends and during school holidays. However, all the other parents in the park seem to use the ice cream van then disappear into thin air. Not sure why more don't drop in; it is clean, spacious, but - unfortunately - always quiet. I suppose TCTC's biggest threat is the superb 'Larder', on the High Street, which must draw in the 30-something hipster mums, whom like the ethical idea of TCTC, but are tempted into The Larder because it's produce is more akin to their usual Stoke Newington/Berlin locals. The food is good, rather than 'excellent', but, in the case of TCTC, there are maybe more reasons to eat there than what you're putting in your mouth. Go there, and if you like it, spread the word. :-)

Visited this cafe with my two year old grandson, very friendly and welcoming. We had a cappuccino, baby chino and a croissant for £2.90. Lots of toys to play with and comfy sofa. They also have a nice outside area. Seems very overlooked, while other high street establishments were turning customers away, this had plenty of room for the pushchair. I understand believe It is run in partnership with Woodbine and HAIL and enables people with a learning disability to gain work experience.
