Railway Bell in Redbridge

Hubby and I regularly visit the Railway Bell for drinks and lunch. The service cannot be faulted with friendly staff and impeccable service. In warmer weather we take advantage of the ample seating choice outside and enjoy watching sports on the large screen TVs or listening to the latest tracks over the speakers. A great place to visit and highly recommended.

It isn’t a fake nasty review just to let you know. We did said we had BRP cards, which is officially given by the Uk govt. to us (international students), we don’t have no other id’s than that. Also, you did check my BRP card, also you did serve me the previous day. Where did the photos of Id came from? QWe said photos of passport, & the bartender walked away. The same guy denied us, we didn’t felt welcome like the day before. So, not professional. Just after we went back, we called our GM saying about the incident. He felt sorry for us of what just happened. So, this is not a fake review. We had 4 people around, might be one of my friends review. Obviously, they would when you won’t get served but get served the pervious day. Thank You

I held surprise 50th drinks and food on Friday for my hubby at the railway bell. What can I say it was the best event I organised or she’ll I say Michelle Ross and Sam organised for me. They were excellent I felt like they went above and beyond with every thing to help me plan this such great local pub with amazing vibes. All the staff were just so happy to help they even put up decorations up prepare the cake and big out for me. All my guests were well looked after through out the evening. Ooooh and Michele Jackson tribute by David was just amazing too. Thank you for making my Hubbys big birthday so special in his favourite pub 😃🎉🍾🥂🎂🙏🏻

This is a great spot for really nice food. Great to have a senior menu option for great price of 6.99 with two courses and having the right portion size for someone with a small appetite. I had a lovely 8 oz steak cooked medium rare to perfection! Garlic and mushroom sauce was delicious and chips were lovely and warm. Other half had a beef burger and had the option to add an egg and texan bbq burnt ends and he scoffed the food down. Lovely member of staff Kim who served us. She was really attentive and friendly. Will definitely come again when visiting my nan again.

A great boozer for sports and having a Sunday drink with your mates

A few days ago, I stopped by Railway Bell for lunch. Opting for a Bacon & Blue Burger paired with a Neck Oil, I found the service and drink quality to be quite satisfactory. However, the burger experience fell short. Despite arriving promptly (i.e. 5mins after placing the order), the burger itself was disappointing— the meat did not taste great, and the blue cheese was an unappetising solid chunk. It ranked among the worst burgers I've ever had. The accompanying chips were somewhat greasy but still enjoyable. Despite devouring it due to hunger after a 15km walk, I doubt I'll choose it for lunch again. Nevertheless, I'd still consider returning for drinks.

I come regularly to the railway bell with friends and family. It’s always a really nice atmosphere and welcoming with children. The staff go above and beyond and are really friendly. The food is also great.

Good burgers and beer. The pub is nice and slightly busy on Thursday. Overall, we enjoyed the evening.

We stopped for lunch with our 2 children, staff are welcoming, friendly and polite. The children were given colouring activities to do whilst waiting for their food, we were able to relax and enjoy our meal. The food was also lovely. We will defiantly visit again.

Went into the railway bell with my family and friends. there was 9 off us including my 2 grandsons. we had a lovely time and was well looked after by the staff. Food was very tasty.

What can I say, this has to be the best pub, not only in Southwoodford, but east London. The staff are second to none, very warm and welcoming. The food is wonderful, I would highly recommend you visit this pub if in the area.

Had a great Sunday lunch with the family. Great selection for both adults and kids (they particularly liked the brownie and ice cream) and very reasonably priced. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.

Savignon Blanc is awful, we couldn't drink it. At £20+ a bottle it would be great to have something that tastes nice. We left here to go to another pub with better wine.

A prize and spacious getaway for a fine pint and quality bites. I highly recommend the sharer plates. Expect generous portions with top tier tasters. The team are welcoming and nothing short of fantastic. Ample seating, and many screens for sporting events, but they don't take over the vibe of this excellent establishment.

Lunch-time at The Railway Bell in South Woodford with 3 of our grandchildren. And so very well looked after by Ross, Sam and Broody. This was my first visit to the Railway Bell late December 2023; for my late brother‘s wake. My family could not have been made any more welcome by ‘Michelle from the Bell’ and her team; they were simply fantastic. The food laid on by the Bell for the mourners was great and the staff and customers were so friendly – such a nice place to spend some time. Next time I’m in the London area I’ll be sure to drop in for a pint (or two) at the Bell.

Myself and my Wife went last night for the Abba Tribute night! We had booked a table which Michele showed us to straight away & we ordered 2 Burger Meals, it was very busy but the meals came within 10 mins and were lovely, we then watched the 'ABBA Tribute' which was fantastic,never seen so many people dancing to the Music in there,they played until almost 11pm and the Pub was rocking...despite being packed,Bar Service was still very prompt & a credit to Ross, Michele and all the team.............Now been to 3 'Tribute' nights and they just get better each time...Well Done the Railway Bell!!!

I popped in for a spot of lunch whilst out working. I decided to have a quick bite from the lunch menu. For just over £10 I had a steak and cheese ciabatta with a side salad and chips and a Guinness. Absolutely fantastic value...

Been going to the Railway Bell for some time now, ans every time I go in we always get a warm welcome. The staff are brilliant, constantly working hard especially through busy periods, and always on top of making their customers happy. They keep bringing me back in with the amount of events they have. I came to watch the ksi vs tommy fury fight, they were very busy but still managed to serve me in a timely manner. I had the cheese and bacon burger and it was nice, the pub even stayed open a bit later as the boxing over ran. Amazing atmosphere and friendly staff who are always accommodating and attentive. Great for sport and great selection of food and drinks. Every 2 weeks there is karaoke or some kind of entertainment that is definitely worth coming down for.

In a busy pub with signs everywhere telling customers to order on the app, that's what my friends and I did yesterday for our Sunday roast. After ordering for myself and my partner, my friend was unable to order his as they had run out of roasts. A short while later, the waiter brought 2 roasts to the table and confirmed this was the case, and that despite them still accepting drinks orders on the app, they wouldn't be bringing these to the table as they were too short-staffed. Fortunately for my friend, the roast was very mediocre, so he was the winner in the end.

Could do with reviewing the seating are by the bar as quite claustrophobic for those sitting there when the bar area gets busy but other than that a great place to go. Also if you are not taking app orders please let customers know or do not accept the app order in the first place. 5 star rating was saved by Chris Ramsay...what a legend! Over 50 years ago my dad met my mum here - she was working behind the bar. This brilliant pub has been my dad’s local for the last few years and he waxes lyrical about the staff and the venue. Even though we live locally, I’d never been in there until today - to remember mum on the anniversary of her death. The kindness that the staff show my dad on an almost daily basis is what makes you think humans are actually ok. He’s not easy yet they understand. A huge shout out to the landlady- you are the very best of people. The drinks are extensive and well kept, the menu simply great pub fayre. Inside is cosy - not in the small sense, but in the ‘you know you’re in a local’ sense. Really pretty garden area. Sports available but not intrusive. Entertainment including tributes and karaoke regularly. I know where I’ll be heading from now on.

Bit noisy as they had karaoke. Avoid 1st Friday of the month if you don't like karaoke. They do a nice vegan katsu curry

I can’t stress enough how amazing the bell is for sport!! Over 6 tvs great selection of beers and gins! The atmosphere and the service is unreal! Not to mention the tribute nights! It really is a great pub!
