Monday night. Brilliant food lovely service. Spotless thanks to all staff.

The early bird 3 course menu is £17.50. For starter, I was going to go for the Thai fish cake, but at the last minute I changed my mind and foolishy opted for the Malay paper chicken. Out come these things that look like spring rolls, only for the waitress to say 'you can't eat the paper', so I sat there digging out small bits of chicken which gets dipped in the hoi sin sauce. For main I ordered the Malay fried rice. Again I was disappointed when my plate arrived and it was pretty much an upside down ball of egg rice with a few prawns and bits of chicken. No flavour whatsoever and very very dry. Dessert is either a banana fritter or ice cream. Everyone else in our party thought the food was nice (hence the 3 stars), however, I can only go by what I had. And the John Smiths bitter that was on the drinks menu is incorrect, they only have one draught beer, Carling. The staff (of which there were many) were attentive, but I think the Peacock Chinese is nicer and better value on a Sunday afternoon.

We picked up a takeaway. The food was probably 3.5/5 and the value 2/5. Char sui & mixed veg, was tasty, but 4 decent pieces of char sui...? Peeking ribs, not great at all and £9 for 8 x 2 inch pieces isn't value. Hot & Sour soup, again average. Plain soft noodles, very nice. Have certainly had worse, but won't be going back. Other similar takeaways in the area out compete here.

Went for the early bird menu but was not available on a bank holiday. We opted for the banquet a for £20.90 and were not disappointed. All the food was absolutely gorgeous,hot tasty and plenty of it x Would highly recommend and will be back xxx

This place does great food though the chicken (salt + pepper) can get a bit soggy it is great for take outs. So overall very good

We always order from here but the last 2 weeks has not been a good experience for us the food is very poor it was excellent until now meat is not soft anymore like chewing on bones and no meat and the soup is usually thick and tasty but it is now watery and not very tasty we are hoping this is not going to turn into a regular thing but twice now it was just a waste of money had to throw away if this carries on will not be returning or recommending at all and usual we would can't understand what has happened and seem to be different staff.

LAST NIGHT WE HAD AN AMAZING BANQUET FOR 36 PEOPLE FROM THE MAGHULL AND LYDIATE U.3.A TABLE TENNIS GROUP AT THE CHERRY HOUSE WHERE DOMONIC AND STAFF COULD NOT DO ENOUGH FOR US. THE SERVICE FOOD, AND ATMOSPHERE WAS SECOND TO NONE. MANY THANKS TO YOU ALL. GEORGE DOBIE.

Really great food. Bit quiet when we visited as it was early afternoon but the lady who served us was absolutely brilliant. Everything done with a smile, nothing was too much trouble. And really good prices. Will definitely visit again.

Enjoyable place to eat, decent food and not expencive

It is all very nice. But the tofu is not always consistently good. I would highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken wings because they are absolutely amazing, same with the ribd. All lovely.

Good food, lots of choice, Pad thai was tasty but not typical Thai. Seabass was very good, we will go back soon

Visited The Cherry House with my girlfriend for the first time last night , staff were welcoming and friendly. Restaurant was not full but still had a nice atmosphere. Food was delicious and there was plenty of it....we were given time between courses 🙂 so didn't feel rushed. We left with full tummies and had good value for our money. Would definitely go back again ..

Had set menu £15.95,main course beef curry,sweet and sour chicken,egg fried rice,noodles,starter soup all very tasty and descent portions,but let down by cold prawncrackers,watered down soya sauce and no dip.Crackers kept in plastic container at back of restaurant, not a good luck,staff seem a little disinterested and no check back to see if everything was ok

We often dine here. We love the friendly staff, the efficient service and the quality of the food. I’d say out of the 10 past visits we haven’t had a bad meal, it’s a great Chinese and we are very happy with it!

Really expensive for a takeaway - 33 pounds for a special Charmaine - And mixed meat special curry +=. Am not being tight with money ,, but you no that saying +++++ you get what you pay for - Av never EVER EVER had the worst bland takeaway in my life :: described as the worst food av ever had in my life- Sort your chef out—- And your prices

The best customer service, the owner is extremely attentive and is clearly aware of his customer needs. Excellent choice of food and able to cater to individual diets. Had the prawn toast, Singapore fried rice, sweet and sour king prawn (perfectly cooked), steamed seabass, pad Thai - everything very tasty. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent authentic Chinese with great customer services. I’ve been to the Terry house now on a couple of occasions I cannot fault the food, always fresh, authentic and service with a smile.

What a friendly place and the guy is always so welcoming and engaging and interactive. Food is just divine and it's a great favourite of ours. Lemon /orange duck is my choice but it's all amazing and good value for money.

Absolutely gorgeous food. We got the banquet between 5 of us. Wasn't over priced and the staff were lovely. If your looking for a takeaway or for a sit down meal you won't be disappointed.

Lovely food, would recommend. My partner is coeliac and I called ahead to see if they could cater for this. The person I spoke to was very helpful and clearly knowledgeable about how to make the food gluten free. We both enjoyed it and would happily order again knowing he is safe to enjoy the food without being ill. Thank you! 😊

We were staying in the area and decided to try The Cherry House. What a welcome we had. Excellent, professional and friendly staff. The price was excellent, very good value for money. It was so good we decided to go back at the end of our holiday to get another. The food was plentlyful and very tasty. Thank you for the wonderful food.

I've eaten in the restaurant a few time but we mainly have takeaway. Fiod is consistently excellent and we've never had a bad experience, but it's very expensive fir a takeaway

Went here for mum's 70th the Chinese guy was lovely, inside is bland and no atmosphere, food was terrible 6 pieces of tiny beef yes 6 !!!! On main meal wich was bone dry and tough , chilli sauce on it was sickly sweet pure sugar ,chips were warm ups fried rice was like boiled with egg / avoid £15 for 3 course / 1 small scoop of cheap ice cream course not worth it at an all you can eat is same price and much better quality and choice

The Restaurant are was average -but this is what we expected - very clean and Pleasant. No Crazy Music . The service Excellent. Staff smiling could not do enough for you . Did not rush to next course. We ordered far too much and took home a selection which the staff kindly potted. Menu - Excellent a good verity of both Chinese and Malaysian foods. With some unique tastes.

Visited the cherry house with a group of friends. The Chinese lady that served us was very abrupt to say the least. Literally threw the cutlery and plates on the table just a very rude lady. We will not be returning.

Terrible ordered a takeaway travelled 7 miles to pick up our delivery as the meals have always been of high standard. Not tonight we we were given bought in cooked chicken that was then battered and cooked again tough as old boots! Fried rice was boiled rice with the skin off the egg scraped on the side of the takeaway box! Crispy noodles ( they were raw just emptied from their box into my box😤 I rang and complained about the very low standard of my meal and they said that is how they serve it ! They will give me a credit note for the noodles and rice 😂 this sends red flags out to me avoid .

Best Chinese in Ormskirk by a country mile. Highly recommended by our next door neighbours and we approve that choice aswell. Returning customers 100%

This is now a regular for us - it is by far the tastiest Chinese restaurant in Ormskirk, with no close competition. The owner is extremely friendly, staff are respectful. Could not recommend more, everything you would want in a Chinese restaurant - and unlimited prawn crackers!

The meal was excellent; delicious, well presented and served by very helpful and friendly staff in a light, airy and pleasant space. What more could I ask for? I would definitely visit again.

Absolutely delicious 5 course special banquet and wine, all the courses were divine, Cherry House is a family favourite and Dominic and team members never disappoint, the Pinot Grigio is amazing and the house special seafood soup is food for the soul, the sizzling beef is tender and delicious so all in all it’s a 10/10 from us

Oh my word at last I have found a event Chinese restaurant in ormskirk !! Sizzling filet steak platter was amazing, nice and fresh steak cooked perfect and soft really reasonably priced and lovely staff will be a new regular!!

spent over £30 on 2 peoples food for the salt and pepper chips to have no taste, the satay sauce was a thick paste and everything was freezing cold even tho we took home and ate within 20 minutes. only okay item was the prawn crackers and they were free. will not be back

A last minute decision to eat here early evening mid week. The Early Bird Menu is a great deal, 3 courses for £13.50. A choice of 5 starters, 12 mains and 2 desserts. We had good sized portions of and it was served piping hot....

Ordered food on Saturday . The chip's were absolutely disgusting. About a week old . The ribs were vile ! Even the dog refused ! Yes it's pricey .

Food was superb Service was somewhat haphazard as the staff were rushed off their feet . Drink prices for alcohol free bottles absolutely extortionate (£13 for 4 bottles of Becks Blue)

Spent around £50 (large order). When I got home the fried food was soggy and the dishes are not what they are described too be on the menu. The one item that was good was the pulled duck with pancakes

The salt and pepper chicken was undercooked and a bit pink in the middle. All the rest of the food was nice however you expect cooked chicken when you pay a good price for it, dangerous!

We had friends arrive today, impromptu, and they requested Asian food for dinner. A quick search and we found The Cherry House. And wow. We were not disappointed. Staff were welcoming and friendly, food delicious and excellent service. The Early Bird Menu (2pm to 7pm) is excellent value for money and the range of dishes superb. Our only disappointment is that we didn't find it sooner! Will definitely return!

We were surprised at just how good our first takeaway was from the Cherry House.Its not the cheapest Chinese in Ormskirk, but the quality of the food was super impressive.I started with the two large vegetarian rolls which were huge and very filling including lots of greens.We had three mains between the four of us. The favourite for everyone was the great crispy chill beef which was almost excellent. We also had the prawns with bamboo shoots and mushrooms which was also good. The chicken and cashew nuts was fine but a bit lacking in flavour for me.I can't wait to try here again very soon.
