Lovely old little pub - dog friendly. Great ham,egg n chips. Saw the chicken burger - next on my list

My partner and I visited this pub on recommendation and it did not disappoint. From the moment we entered the staff were so lovely and the food was delicious! We’ll definitely be returning, and passing on the recommendation!!

The family and I visited The Chequers, and we have such a lovely afternoon. The food was delicious - I would definitely recommend the chicken burger, and the squid or sticky chicken to start. The staff were really accommodating and made us feel welcome when arriving. Good selection of drinks. Looking forward to returning with the family again soon.

The bar lady is rude ,racist not a place to be..bad services told us she doesnt like black people

Food uses very cheap poor quality ingredients and does not live up to the articulate menu description or price tag. Bar staff friendly and helpful but table staff moody and rationed sauce. Lovely local pub and location but would not bother a revisit as we have many lovely country pubs with quality food and location.

I’ve not eaten here yet but what I’ve seen looks and smells fab! Great friendly atmosphere, lovely village pub to have a quiet drink with friends and the landlords are brilliant. Definitely one of my favourite local pubs

I think a lot of the people who work there and in the past have a real attitude for certain people,i know that's most places,but why bother when you can go to other pubs with nicer atmospheres and people

I had been on a long walk on the Chilterns with a group of friends. We were all a little hungry. Found this place by chance and what a little gem . The food was delicious and a good portion. The price was reasonable too. Would definitely recommend making a stop here.

Food was disappointing. After seeing such great reviews we thought we'd give it a go. We waited an hour for our food to arrive even though we were the only sitting. The pizzas were burnt on the crust and very chewy where the cheese had been overcooked. The eggs on the ham egg and chips were solid. The staff were polite and friendly, but we didn't feel waited on, we had to chase up drinks and sauces. The pub was clean and there was a good selection of drinks on offer. I think we just had bad luck.

Descent Sunday roast. Nice atmosphere in the pub.

We had a fabulous Sunday carvery lunch here today. The food was homemade and amazing and the people are lovely. I'd definitely recommend and can't wait to return.

Led a walk from this lovely country pub on a Sunday two weeks ago,came back and six of us enjoyed a wonderful carvery,definitely the best I've eaten for a long time.

Lovely pub, lovely Landlords, great food (especially portions)- support this lovely local pub, and make sure you have a pint of London Pride- one of the best pints I have had recently!!..

The only thing wrong with the Chequers Inn is that it's not at the end of my road! Great find. Lovely landlady and landlord, friendly locals... I'll be back for sure.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure my friend and I were catered for, despite the kitchen not strictly being open at that time. Food was delightful too.

Back tonight for a meal, Wow definitely impressed first time in two yrs, Service excellent, food choice substantial, good quality food with generous portions , add on's or different combination no trouble( I'm fussy) Landlord and Landlady came out to check everything was ok (nice touch) Lovely location great for a dog walk/meal or just a quick pint.

A proper pub, traditional pub food done brilliantly. It's really refreshing to see proper pub dishes without irony or gastro-twists, good ingredients, cooked well with decent beer on tap. Just excellent.

Wa-hay, it’s the start of the week so Sunday roast must be on the menu but living on my own I can’t see the point in doing all that cooking just for one. This is where the Chequers Inn in Wheeler End comes in. One phone call and Sunday roast take away ordered. Roast lamb, roast potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, green beans, parsnips, stuffing, yorkshire pudding and gravy with a side order of cheesy leeks and sticky toffee pudding and custard which again, I’ll have tonight. Fantastically flavoursome and as you can see from the photo, very generous portion sizes. Looking forward to sampling the weekday menu - I’ve got my eye on Julies Blue Burger. (zipadedodah)

Cannot rate this lovely pub enough, went for a meal in the week well cooked and flavoursome, hosts are wonderful and attentive enjoyed it so much went back for a roast today, the best roast I have ever had piping hot, I had chicken and my partner had Beef fantastic, so many vegetables and the leeks in a cheese sauce were to die for, will be going back many times and the portions are massive you certainly won't leave there hungry

My friends and I had a great time at The Chequers Inn this afternoon. Food was great, everyone was friendly, and the hosts really looked after us! A great stop for anyone exploring the Chiltern Hills.

Me and my wife came to your pub for lunch with my step mum and her friend on the 1st of March and the lunch was amazing and staff were amazing well done cuz keep it going and will be back soon

New owners are making this a really lovely rural local pub again. One to try. I didn't eat here but the menu looks good and is pub fodder rather than the hoity toity stuff.

Just had a drink very pleasant had a lovely chat with the new owners as we will be having a meal there later in the month. Definitely recommend it.
