Amazing place, great friendly waiter, home cooked amazing food, the Pie is to die for and obviously extremely popular. Made our stay in the area worthwhile. Highly recommend

Lovely dining area we were met by a lovely cat who made us completely forget to look at the menus, I had the steak and ale pie and my gosh there was so much steak in it I struggled to finish, my partner has a duck salad, but the cheesecake oh my god it was the most creamy and perfect cheesecake I have ever had, I have been in Michelin restraints that serve worse then this amazing cheesecake.

I had the hunters chicken. Greasy bland and very pricey. No starters as the starters were as costly as the mains. Friend asked for a rare steak and got medium so had to send it back she then felt guilty about wasting meat. My partner had a burger. Small portion and very bland. He described he may as well have gone to mcds for half the price. Nice posh toilets so that helps. Drinks fairly priced. For a pub in the middle of no where it needs to rethink its priceing

Not a great Sunday lunch experience, albeit the Friday night fish and chips are an absolute delight.

Came across this little gem by chance. Quite an extensive menu but all of it reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Service was quick and the food well presented.

If you're looking for the most authentic English pub in the most out-of-the-way place go here. Great atmosphere and just as quaint as anyone could ask for. I love this place. Ask about and when the Friday Fish and Chip special is in the month.

This place was hyped up by some friends. We expected a special experience, only to have sub par service and overcooked salmon.

Staff friendly, food excellent and a great choice of real ale. Location tucked away and quiet, outdoor seating plentiful. Pub full of old world charm.

Rooms shoddy and in a state of dis-repair eg the radiator in room 17 was ripped out and replaced with an electrical o e which did not work. The shower was broken and there is a screw sticking up in the bath room which I caught my foot on causing me to bleed when mentioned to staff they said they'd sort it 4 days later it was still the same. Which I suspect is still the same now. The staff were very unhe

Nice venue, shame about the staff! Food for lunch was ok, nothing amazing. But what really let it down was the staff! Could not be bothered to check if mayo was dairy free (found out later that it was), water never arrived. Not friendly. And then had the cheek to add a service charge to the bill!!! We requested that it was removed. Such a shame as the location and venue looked nice.

Lovely, genuine old thatched pub, with lovely staff. The food could not be faulted and the portions were more than generous. Definitely intend to return.

We didn't eat here but we hear good things about the food. The beer was nice (Albion stout) but it would be nice to have a selection that isn't a woodfordes. A good Guinness on tap would be great.
