The Chefs Place in Scarborough

I ordered a meal deal at 6pm on a Friday night. A little annoyed at the 1 hour 10 mins - 1 hour 30 mins delivery time but stuck with it. I called the shop after 1 hour 40 mins asking about my order and was assured it was on its way. I am writing this now at 9pm and the order still has not arrived and the shop have ignored the 11 phone calls that I have made. Disgusted at this. From a Just Eat customer.

We decided to use this takeaway whilst on a family holiday what can I say never ever again avoid at all costs most of the food was stale and full of salt, laziness to say the least considering the chicken kebab was not even in the pitta yet the stale hard pitta was merely chucked to the side...considering what we paid for the food we got we will never visit again and will be informing any future guests not to aswell....MUST TRY HARDER !!!!!

The owner could not understand English. The food was of a poor quality , my girlfriend ordered a cheeseburger & got a battered chicken burger. One Shawarma & a burger £13.50. Disgusting place & filthy..

Wow called for delivery what a joke wrong order and charged £3.50 for delivery when I’m only round the corner never order again

Order taker doesn't understand English well enough to be taking orders, didn't understand what an 8" pizza was, from their own menu. Food is disgusting, pizza was totally raw on the base. Should have got a free garlic bread or drink for spending over £15, didn't even get asked what we wanted.

Ordered a Calzone with extra cheese got a doner kebab, asked for the price the young girl said around £20, then when we asked for exact price we were told £15. We asked to pay by card when it was delivered and told ok, arrived without card machine. Issues with last 2 phone orders now. We have been using Chefs Place for around 10 years but it's a take-away that needs to step it up a bit.

Could not tell you the meat we received as unrecognisable, never have I seen anything so unappealing in my life. Naan bread turns out to be pitta bread when I last bought them they were different. First & last time. Glad we never received anything free after spending over £15 we’d of probably spent all night deciphering what it was! Couldn’t even eat the chips they were cold mushy & hardly cooked

I am so upset how I have been treated. Firstly the owner was rude over the phone when taking my order. Then my order arrives and half of it is missing. I rang up to explain half my order was missing to get shouted at with loads of abuse and then the phone was put down. I phoned back to ask if I could have the missing food as I had paid for it and i got load more abuse and told he would not be dealing with my nonsense and he put the phone down. The food that did come wasnt edible. The cheesecake was rock solid. We only ordered as we all have covid and cant leave the house. My 9 year old is absolutely devastated she didnt get her meal after waiting over 2 hour for it to arrive and it be missing from the order. I went onto their facebook group and the reviews are the same experience as me and worse. The place needs shutting down! Shame on you CHEFS PLACE, SCARBOROUGH

The carbonara was slimy spaghetti, packet ham, burn mushrooms and cheese slapped on the top. Didn’t even want to try it. If you’re going to sell pasta like that, at least buy it from a shop where at least it’s edible. The ‘chicken wings’ …. No idea if it was chicken or what! Had one bit and it was tough. Chips, dry and tasteless. Had high hopes for this place, but it’s offended me.

Absolutely appalling phone manner! Claimed to have come to our bnb but requested them to call us so we could come down but they didn't phone us as requested, was rude when confronted and told us to go bother someone else as they cancelled our order... If you can't talk to customers with respect then get a new job away from people!

Was told delivery would only take 50 min. 2 hours later still waiting. Phoned up and the boss was very rude and said he couldn’t cope and would close the shop! Don’t bother wasting your time here!!!! Poor customer service!!!

Waited nearly 2 hrs to be told think it was the owner he can’t cope and was shutting shop. Then slammed phone down lol so rude on the phone maybe get more staff mate went somewhere else declined the order when it finally arrived

Absolutely shocking paid over £8 for some cheese cake for it to come frozen so I wouldn’t recommend anyone buys anything from this terrible establishment and it also seems the owner only speaks english when he wants to will never ever go there again

Just ordered from here. Told us half an hour wait come 1 hour later. Onion rings Mushy and soggy. We got nachos with cheese they came cold and the cheese was not melted I rang and complained they said they don’t melt the cheese. I’d pursue they would melt it and it be warm as anywhere you get nachos they are? Go to eat my pizza and it’s not even cooked doughy as out would not recommend unless you want to waste you money on total s**t

do not order food is the worst in Scarborough cold looks like kids made it and management a waste of time not helpful they have ripped a lot of customers of wouldn't even listen they put the phone down ..so unprofessional they should be no way serving food please avoid there's better pizza places

forgot the cheesy chips, donna kebab was dry, chilli sauce was tasteless and horrible texture always ordered from here but wont be from now on. waste of my money

I ordered a shish/ donna/ kebab It was absolutely disgraceful Nothing like what I have had before. The staff all very abrupt And unprofessional. Price was £10 It tasted just vile I urge you to not go here .Seriously totally disappointing and not anything like before Do not go

The pizza 10 inch (pepperoni and donner meat) greasy and , the donner and chips medium actually not that bad, kids enjoyed it, but the rest was a proper piss take, got a kids meal that contained a whopping baby hands worth of chips and a mini mee burger to accompany , guy must have tiny baby hands .....any way back the the story.... Oh yeah... a fruit shoot, bought from the one the only TESCO, yano... . Ha ha hahaha,, what!!!! But I saved the last as you have proably seen already but they got a chocolate bar, I only got back from the shop, when they had finished eating almost, kitchen for my tea as you do, saw a TITAN , it's like 8-12 from aldi man!! Cmon bro got be a kitkat chunky atleast!!!Wouldn't order again my pizza more than from tesco too hahahahaTbc.......

what a disappointment!! 1 hour wait for delivery !!! the the food finally arrives and two of the three cheese garlic breads contained mould, the carbonara was infact tomato sauce and mushrooms with some cheese, not a carbonara in my opinion. when we rang to confront them about the mould we had a rude response stating that “the mould was impossible” and that he “could not listen to us”. he then preceded to hang up on me. will not be ordering again.

I ordered a Meal Deal with a burger and fries but got two Donner kebabs instead. The pizzas were delicious however. Definitely going back.

After waiting 90 minutes for our food to arrive at our Caravan Park we saw that some items were missing. My wife called and they promised they would be delivered shortly. An hour later i called asking where the food was to be told the boss was bringing the missings as we spoke. Another 90mins after that i rang again to demand my money back, to be told that the boss was out and would call when he got back.After 4.5 hours after our initially delivery we gave up and went to bed. This was not far off 11pm. When we got up in the morning we found our remaining items in a bag hanging off our caravan door handle. SERIOUSLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!To fulfill their obligation to deliver our food they leave it outside, gaining germs by the minute. Such disgusting customer service - i am embarrassed for them and will not be made a fool out of. Chef's Place, you are a disgrace !!!!

I get my cold freezing rancid chicken home the chicken was not cooked properly and it had a green tinge to it, the salad was not fresh all of the soggy tomatoes women must in with cucumber and some sweetcorn and if you onions I complained about the food and I wanted my money back but he refused I would avoid it like the plague never again

Best calzones and pizzas I've ever had in my life, highly, HIGHLY recommend. Best in Scarborough. Scottt

Got meal deal one pizza was nice as was garlic bread. Donner meat amd chips came as a huge portion and kids meal came with 6 turcky dinosore

AVOID - cold dried up food - salad, coleslaw and garlic bread missing. Refused to give refund and offered a credit off next order - HA!! Seriously??? I certainly won't be ordering anything from here again! Food - nil, customer service- nil.

Telephone manner was excellent, took my order, special kebab n chic cake. 8 quid. Delivered. Phoned me as asked. Meal tastes amazing. Sauce included with salad n chips, slice of cake enough for three people. No problems, better than expected . Chuffed :)

Mal mi pedido, el dueño era increíblemente grosera y me echaron. Pretendió rectificar su error sólo para llegar a casa para descubrir que ellos lo atrapado una carga de pollo encima de la original pizzas! ! got a kids meal that was meant to come with a ribena and chocolate bar. came a cheap tesco fruit splash and choclate from aldi meal deal cma aldi coke and food was horrid cheap nuggets, pizza very bland! dont go here!

I think it hardly surprising that we in YO12 receive quite a few of their brochures each year....more than 10 in any calendar year so far....They come thru the gate and put 2 each time part way into our letter box...then leaving the gate OPEN they leave...So anyone can tell they have been and we may well not be in....If the food is half as good as their care in the community then DONT bother...and i have read other reviews and the leaflets received this week are going where the others have gone....recycling!!

Ordered a family takeaway,drove down to pick it up,

I placed an order at 8.40pm for a pizza & a pasta dish, was told it would be between 30 & 40 minutes, I then called again at 9.35pm as the food had not arrived, I was told it was on its way, I then had to call at 9.50pm to be told it would be there in a minute, the food arrived at 10.05pm. It took 1 hr & 25 minutes for our food to arrive and the pizza was only luke warm, we wouldn't have minded if we had ordered a banquet but it was only 2 items, we will never order from this take away again, I definitely wouldn't recommend them, there are much better pizza places who offer better customer service by a mile!!

no one speaks english, raw food,, waste of money..very rude staff ....never again,very dirty shop .. wont go there again

Han sido conseguir comida para llevar desde aquí durante años. Los precios son muy razonables especialmente si tienes una de las ofertas de comida y las porciones son enormes!

It was over an hour to arrive. Food was cold and the chips were hard and under cooked. Didn't bring the bottle of coke. Charged more than was quoted on the phone. They don't understand what garlic mayo is. To some it up, VILE!

Kabab taste like it's come out of a dogs bum hole, chips are skinny and cold, dry and veloting probably have poo in the morning

Amazing food, very nice staff, cooked very quickly and well. I ordered a BBQ Meat Feast pizza, it was absolutely amaaaaazing. Will be buying this from them again!

Called for a delivery at 4.30, ordered meal deal 6. In that was 3 ten inch pizzas, toppings asked for were missing! Kids meal was over cooked chicken goujons, cheap tesco fruit splash n chocolate bar was a Titan from Aldi, bottle of juice was Aldi coke. It took an hour and 40 mins, was cold and soggy when arrived. Called to find out where it was after being told half an hour and it was well over an hour by this time only to be ranted that it was on way and phone slammed down! Our meal should have been £16.50 but was £19 when arrived. As we spent over £15 we should have got free tomato bread but this was missing. Wouldn't waste my money on this place, was our last night in Scarbourgh and this left an awful taste in our mouths in more ways than one!!!

i ordered meal deal 5 when it arrived they had forgotton the kebab so i phoned them back up they blamed it on a new member of staff that she hadn't wrote it down even though meal deal 5 states it has a kebab so they said it would be sent out meanwhile my partner opened up her pizza and it wasnt even cut properly so you had to basically tear off a slice same with my daughters also the onions on the pizza werent cut properly they were massive pieces. so after about half a hour the kebab arrived with no salad by this time the rest of my family had already eaten.so we phoned them up again and i basically told them if it didnt arrive in 5 to ten minutes the kebab would be cold and id have to come to the shop and get my money back as soon as i said that he started being funny with me and hung up no salad turned up i was past caring at this point and just threw it in the bin an absolute waste of money.

Disgusting! Ordered a takeaway from chefs place and the phone was handed over four times because mon pf them understood the language! After an hour I ring up to see where ot os and get told it's here and the phone slammed down! Rimg back to explain where we are cp we lice in an awkward place and get told it's our fault! Food was cold and wrong never again! Also coleslaw was a shop package with the label ripped off!
