The Charlton Cat offers a full orbed English tea experience. Easy access along the A342, super views over the Pewsey Vale, excellent coffee, exquisite cakes and in a delightful atmosphere dressed in interesting art (courtesy of the patron's artistic talents and temperament). It complements the local area with great pubs and a range of accommodation from garden lodges to manor guest houses.

Great venue and tasty main course of salad and leek tart was SPOILED by rude and critical attitude of staff when inedible hard vegan flapjack pudding was politely rejected. When it was suggested that the pudding should be removed from the bill, there was shock and horror from staff. We were told ‘well, you ordered it’. We won’t be visiting again.

After driving past so many times me and my wife finally popped in today (30-7-22) to check it out. We were not disappointed. The place is calm, clean and relaxed, the lighting was nice and not very loud inside, making it a very nice place to be for my autistic wife, thank you!, The dog friendly aspect is definitely an attraction too!. The service was great and we were met with a smile and allowed some time to decide on our food & drink. The food was very nice and portion sizes were very generous, cakes also very nice and of a good size!. This will be our new go-to. Thank you!

We had passed this cafe a few times and kept meaning to pop in. What a fabulous place, immaculate inside and out. The decor is great, so clean, modern and fresh. The view from the tables on the outside terrace is beautiful. The welcome and service was friendly and helpful. We both had a sausage bap, which was so tasty. We then had a homemade cake each, we had the peanut & chocolate flapjack and the pina colada cake - both were delicious. Definitely going to pop in again when we are passing.

What a great coffee stop of coffee shop!! I only review positive if an establishment goes above and beyond and the staff at the Charlton Cat certainly did. We arrived in groups totalling 15+ cyclists out on a Saturday morning. First we were allowed to bring out bikes into the secure rear garden for security then Arriving hot and thirsty we had complementary jugs of iced tap water with sliced cucumber no less whilst we perused the menu. Coffee and cake for some, Bacon rolls for others. The cake slices were generous with plenty of choice. A top tip is to choose the large cafetière and enjoy a few cups of coffee. The staff were just so helpful even when it came to splitting up the bill. The views from the garden seating were lovely. Whilst this was a coffee stop with cycling mates, my next visit will be for lunch with my wife and parents.

The Charlton Cat is somewhat in the middle of nowhere; no habitation around it just an old pub, now a tea room, situated amongst the tress on a bendy bit of road between Upavon and Devizes. Blink and you'll miss it, but not stopping here is a definite mistake. It's really nice inside with an interesting menu, attentive staff and prompt service all for a reasonable price. Booking advisable thanks to covid spacing but this place is well worth a visit if you are in this part of the world.

Lovely tea room which we’ve driven past so often. Friends recommended it so we went off to have coffee and see for ourselves. It’s been beautifully decorated to provide a light, airy and elegant room. We ordered a large cafetière of coffee and two cakes from the excellent selection. Both the cakes and the coffee were delicious and the service was excellent. The menu offered quite a selection of cooked breakfast dishes along with sweet or savoury scone and toasted tea cake. A tea room we have passed many times before and always commented we should go in next time we pass by. Well today was that day and we were not disappointed. Friendly staff as soon as we walked in. Cosy and warm setting with a modern but rustic look, complete with a log burner. A small selection on the menu will satisfy most visitors and there is also a daily special board to tempt you further. Our food arrived promptly and was fresh and hot. We had mushroom soup and 1/2 sandwich each and it was lovely and tasty. It cost £6.70 and we also had a pot of tea for two. If you are still hungry or just want a cuppa and a piece of cake, there are several fresh cakes on view to choose from.Overall, I very pleasing visit.

We knew when we pulled in that we would have to wait as the car park was nearly full of motorbikes. Clearly a stopping place for a Harley Davidson club. The friendly staff greeted us asking if we were ok to wait as they were very busy and we assured them that we were (there was a today's national newspaper, a local weekly newspaper and several magazines at the "comfy sofas" table we chose) and several times we were asked if we were still ok. The wait was well worth it. Lovely cakes and lots of hot coffee. We'd had breakfast at home (sadly) as the smell of cooking bacon was intoxicating. We're hoping to move to the area soon, and if we do it will become one of our regular haunts. I would imagine it's lovely in the winter when the big woodburner is on the go.

The staff were very welcoming and were quick to make sure we were comfortable. Our order arrived quickly and was delicious, in fact there was so much to the afternoon tea we had to ask for a doggy bag for some of the cakes. Would certainly recommend the Charlton Cat for a lovely tea or a quick cup of tea and one of the beautiful cakes they have. The only downside is pulling out of the car park as it is on a nasty corner.

Visited on one of their steak nights. Lovely welcoming pub with lit fires and smart decor. We were initially invited to a table which was extremely close to a small group but seeing our dismay the lovely waitress moved us to another table. The starter came quickly then we had a wait of almost an hour for our steak, chips and salad which I found quite ridiculous. Fine if you are in a group but when you are sitting with your husband who you have spent the day with what are you suppose to talk about! However when the steak eventually came it was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection.

Been meaning to pop in since its conversion from a pub years ago. Recommended by family to visit, so popped in for lunch one Saturday. It looks fresh and interesting. Could have done with upgrading the flooring as very springy in places. Food was OK, some issues with portion size versus expectations around menu description. Nice selection of teas. Menu is limited to specific times of the day, so just be cautious about what you want to eat and when. Nice touch with dog biscuits for visiting pooches & a open fire for ambiance. Car park is entertaining to access/disembark as the cafe is on the corner of a 50mph stretch of road - line up, pick your moment and launch! :-)

Spotted this today ( 27 Oct 17 ) on our way to a car dealers nearby, so made a point of stopping just before midday for just a bit of something to "take the edge off" before another hour or so on the road. Looks very plain and unassuming from the outside, but very clean, tidy, and well decorated within. Met by three smiling faces and more or less sat where we wanted as it was very quiet. We had a very nice pot of tea for two, and I had a proper bacon sarnie on white bread, no sauce as I wanted to taste the locally produced bacon, gorgeous! My wife had a very nice bowl of coconut parsnip, and another veg soup (wasn't paying attention due to my sarnie), which was excellent, and freshly prepared, we could hear the blender out back. I had to take some courgette, coconut and lime pie home for our grown up son, and I tipped a fiver on top of a reasonable 15 quid bill. The ladies wished us a safe trip and said to bring our Frenchy next time, as we'd been talking about dogs. We live in Fareham (Hants) and travel to Bath a few times a year, and will probably go this way to visit again. A hidden gem. Thank you Ladies.

The food was perfecectly acceptable if not inspiring, however who wants to eat somewhere where the welcome is compleatly absent. I think the owners here need to re think their front of house offering. All though we waited 3/4 of an hour for a very simple open sandwich we are still waiting for someone to acknowledge the delay. Communication is tantamount to a successful front of house operation.

Toilets and rest of premises are really clean and can’t wait to visit again

Food was lovely, my boyfriend and I haven’t enjoyed a meal as much as that in a while. Food and drinks are low price, especially considering the portion size. Service was good; they were fast and they made sure everything was okay. Definitely coming back☺️
