The Charlecote Pheasant Hotel in Stratford-on-Avon

Excellent in every way we were a group of friends all with dogs it’s a very dog friendly hotel. Mazine was the duty manager that weekend he was brilliant always there and happy to go that extra mile for the group. Fabulous food, clean spacious rooms and the staff are very friendly. I would highly recommend the hotel it’s in a great position friendly great food. I can’t understand why anyone could write a bad review if you want 5 star go to the Hilton or the Savoy

We recently spent a wonderful day at the wedding of our son and daughter-in-law at this hotel, and it was truly memorable. Despite only being in the role for three days, the Manager was attentive, kind, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The staff were incredibly supportive and made us feel well looked after throughout the event. The food was great, with the starter and dessert being particularly delicious! Our rooms were comfortable, and the beds were exceptionally cozy. Overall, it was a fantastic day, and we’re so grateful to the team for helping make it special. Thank you!

This hotel is in such a lovely setting and you are always greeted with a warm welcome. The food is so lovely and the rooms are exceptionally clean. There was a very big party arrived just after we sat down to our meal but we were still very well looked after.

We stayed overnight and enjoyed an excellent meal in the restaurant. The blade of beef was cooked to perfection and the pork was wonderful. The sweets were good although the starters were not of the same quality. The staff were attentive and the bar was well stocked. We only stayed one night but, whilst the food was fabulous, the menu was very limited. I would be interested to know if that was, in part, due to it still being "out of season".

The hotel is ideally located for Stratford upon Avon, it’s in a beautiful location and easy to find. The hotel could do with a bit of upgrading in places. Bella, Ellie, Laffy and Jeremy deserve a special thank you for being friendly, helpful and professional.

Just got back from a family wedding and i have to say everything was awesome. Great venue great food great staff. Especially Molly she couldn’t do more to make my sisters wedding special going above and beyond on more than one occasion. She is a true gem. Highly recommend for anyones wedding. Thank you to everyone especially Molly.

Very disappointing Sunday carvery. Went with a group as had been recommended but quite honestly it was about as bad as could be. Food order was very slow, we had been sat nearly 30 mins before the order for starters was taken. We had to request plates were cleared so there was room for the main. By the time we went to the carvery there was so little choice. There was only 2 out of 3 meats available, one of which looked v dried. The vegetables were sparse and the cauliflower cheese looked like yellow porridge. It was mush and I’ve no idea how it was made but wasn’t imo from fresh ingredients. Roast potatoes ( only potatoes offered) ran out, as did the greens. Our friends were returning to the table with barely half a plate. The chef produced some roast potatoes but most of us had finished by then. Again we sat and sat waiting for plates to be cleared and sweet orders taken. Despite asking if the fruit salad was a true salad or predominantly apple ( a previous guest had advised us it was mostly apple) we were assured it was a true mixed fruit salad. It was 90% Apple which was a problem for one of us and rendered it inedible. It was clear by now the staff were wrapping up service and coffee was not offered. In fairness the bill was substantially reduced when we spoke with the duty manager. We go out as a group frequently and this meal was exceptional for all the wrong reasons.

Had a wonderful 3 days here. Comfortable and good food. The staff are the stars, smiling and professional unlike some of the dour efficiency of the nameless chains. Couple of minor niggles such as outside furniture could do with a lick of paint but for the price paid deserves a five. Handy for Stratford on Avon.

Dinner was inclusive in our package but they did a great job and it was delicious, good starter, excellent roast and a pudding!

Just returned from a lunchtime visit today, having enjoyed an autumn sunshine walk in the deer park next door (NT). Sunday lunch was a carvery and jolly good too - pink beef a highlight and freshly cooked veg. Three choices of starter - we had a very nice prawn cocktail. Staff very pleasant and helpful. House wine a good accompaniment. £60 all in for 2 so good value too. We shall return with my 7 yo grandson who loves roast parsnips and 5 yo granddaughter who loves broccoli.

Our Group of Ladies stayed at the Charlecote Pheasent Hotel to go into Stratford on Avon. The Hotel was good and the package included Evening meal that was excellent. Bus Stop was just outside and 25min journey.

My review is somewhat disappointing after eating at this restaurant. My husband, friend and I had been eating out over 10 days from the Cotswolds to Stratford upon Avon. This was our worst and most expensive for little satisfaction. The menu was not appetising and the staff need some urgent training in serving the public. If we had been food critics they would have missed the mark. With very little choice on the menu it was not the best by a long way. Finally my husband asked for a coffee, we had finished our desserts by the time coffee arrived, a cup, no saucer, no sugar and no spoon!!! Everything had to be asked for, which at times we felt we are just a bother!! Needless to say we will NOT be returning. Usually I can find positives in most things however on this occasion I would struggle.

From the moment my partner and our puppy Marley arrived we were made to feel welcome. If you have a dog I would strongly recommend this hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Marley loved it and was made such a fuss of by the staff at the hotel. The food was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay. We will be back for another visit 😊

I don't normally eat restaurant fish - bad experiences - but the trout was really good and the mash was superb! Keep up the good work!

The food was really amazing, with a good choice and the staff were very attentive. There was a good choice of wine also.

We stayed at the Charlecote Pheasant on a two night dinner bed and breakfast break and couldn’t have been more delight with the hotel. As a group of four ladies we were most welcomed by the staff and our rooms were perfect for us, especially as they had been so good to give us interconnecting rooms. The food was excellent quality, plentiful and served with a smile. Dan, in the restaurant went out of his way to ensure we were looked after and enjoyed our time at the Charlecote. If you’re looking for a quality weekend away at a very reasonable price don’t hesitate to book here. Just one tip …. Take a jacket or jumper along to the bar/restaurant area, it was a tad chilly on a cold January day.

Due to an unforeseen problem we decided to stay here for one night in the executive room , the room and bed was all ok .. so no complaints there , I’m afraid food wise was no good at all

Staff were very welcoming. The place was busy when we went and was fully booked, food in the restaurant was great quality in the evening, there is no entertainment or music in the bar area but that's ok as you can just chat, room was great good size clean and tidy, only let down was breakfast which was ok but was only lukewarm, apart from that the stay was good.

We stayed at the Charlecote Pheasant and had meals included. Whilst a limited menu each day (same choices) the food was of very good quality so overall enjoyable.

Lovely hotel in an ideal location. Nice & quiet. Had a great package deal through Great Little Breaks company in Droitwich. Food, service & rooms excellent. Highly recommend.

Visited the Shakespeare Distillery as part of a one night deal with the hotel. Also visited Charlecote House & Park which just happens to be right next to the hotel. Very nice room in the hotel & we enjoyed a very nice 2 course meal....

WE ONLY ATE HERE BECAUSE WE STAYED OVERNIGHT. NIce ambience and staff ok but our meal was not properly cooked and they totally messed up with the order for desert. We complained as very disappointed and received a 25% discount.

In summary the hotel delivered good value and excellent food both at breakfast and dinner where the menu changed daily but always providing a good selection of dishes to select from

It was good to go back to the pheasant again for Sunday lunch. The staff were very friendly and the service was good as well as the food. I would have preferred the carvery though, but overall great food and service.

A fixed price menu or a la carte available, limited selection but expected in COVID times. Reasonable prices and nice wine. Nothing bad to report.

Good choice bar menu and evening set menu. Food was really good, and the staff were very welcoming and eager to please.
