This was a very pleasant experience with good friendly service and excellent food! Service was prompt. The desert menu is fabulous! This is a dog friendly pub which is very handy for many customers!

Great service, they reserved an area in the bar for our large group to watch the six nations rugby matches Nothing to much trouble for them. Would highly recommend.

Plenty of screens to watch sports; rugby and football. BUT. they seem play music in the sports section. No one wants it, they are there for the game and it’s annoying. It’s their choice too, different music playing in the main bar. C’mon Central, up your game and realise your potential.

I had chicken wings with a delicious sticky garlic ginger and chilli sauce. WOW! Also the drinks are very good. Great friendly staff. Also dogs are welcome and receive treats.

This is such a lush spot!! Sat under the heat lamps & it felt just like summer!! The manager was really accommodating and we will be coming back!!! Highly recommend!!

This is a really nice pub, with lots of seating choice, wether you want open tables or cozy booths. Didn't eat here but the food looked and smelt amazing. Friendly staff and a well stocked bar.

Stumbled across this gem on our stay, Tyler and Beth couldn’t have done anymore the food was incredible and the best service we have ever received! Would definitely recommend you really won’t be disappointed. Look forward to coming back here again in the summer.

We had the pleasure of dining at The Central Inn multiple times during our month-long stay in Newquay, and while our first visit wasn’t perfect, the incredible service from Assistant Manager Tiff completely turned things around. In fact, she was the reason we became loyal customers, returning three times a week! After a less-than-ideal first experience, all of the staff made sure that every visit afterward was nothing short of exceptional. Their warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care for guests made us feel like valued regulars from the start. The team went above and beyond to ensure that not only was the food always top-notch but that the entire dining experience felt special. Speaking of the food—every dish we tried was fantastic. The menu offers a great mix of comforting classics and creative flavors, all prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether it was a casual lunch or a celebratory dinner, The Central Inn never disappointed. We can’t recommend this place enough, and we owe a huge thanks to Tiff for making it feel like home during our stay. If you’re looking for amazing food with even better service, The Central Inn is the place to go!

Me and my partner visited Central for a meal last night and although it was a busy Saturday, Josh managed to find us a lovely table and made sure we were taken care of throughout the evening. The food was great as always and service was fantastic. Big thanks to Josh for being so friendly and attentive!

Nice food small plates were tasty and burgers good only spoilt by surly waitress who was rude and kept watching us from the till point not sure why but it was off putting

We came to Newquay for new year and I booked a table for dinner on NYE. We visited the Central a few times on our trip and were pleasantly surprised. The food on NYE was excellent despite it being busy. It was good to be able to choose from a normal menu rather than other places creating a special NYE menu and charging the earth for it. If we come back to Newquay, we will not hesitate in eating and visiting here again.

Always decent food in here at a reasonable price, the staff are always friendly and attentive There was live music in the bar area the last time I visited, they were quite good The other side has a dance floor and large TV screens throughout. If you're a sports fan Easy access for wheelchair users Plenty of seating around the bar area There is an entire floor upstairs that I haven't seen open for a few years. Guess that's a sign of the times My only gripe is the air conditioning in the food area Several groups had the sizzle dishes and the whole area was smoked out. To the point my eyes were stinging and when I got home my clothes stank of stale food odours Apart from that I've always enjoyed my visits!! And lovely desserts!! The drink isn't cheap, over £6 a pint which apparently is close to London prices. 2 single shots with mixers was around £13

Good food and service, unfortunately what let it down for me was the sheer amount of dogs, barking and farting. It literally stunk of dog trump in there and we could hardly hear ourselves think over all the barking.

Well done The Central! We had a family evening meal for eight last Wednesday and had a wonderful time. All the different courses arrived together with great service and the meals were enjoyed by all. The staff were all very attentive and very cheerful. We thought it was so good that myself and two friends went back there for lunch yesterday. Many thanks to Benn and his team for making us so welcome.

This lovely place was spot on,great atmosphere,really friendly staff,the manager was amazing and it gets a 10 out of 10 from our group of 10, we drank,played pool and had a lovely afternoon 😀

Good place to visit, good beers and food.

We ordered fish and chips and the chicken fajita tower. The Chicken was presented fantastically and taste great. Fish and chips was lovely the fish was a tad oily but still nice. Service was great and the interior was quite nice. Would reccomened if looking for a nice reasonably priced lunch would visit again

Visited today and was served by the lovely Emma, she truly is a credit to the team. She goes above and beyond and is a very bubbly chatty person. We had the most pleasant experience whilst having a few drinks here. We will definitely be visiting again in the near future!

Great place, nice people. It's has a great selection of beers. The food was good but not really to my taste, but the kids loved it.

We’ve been visiting the Central for many years now and have always enjoyed our time here as a family. We called in for a couple of drinks on Halloween and decided to order the chicken burger for my daughter and starters for the wife and I as we weren’t hungry enough for a full meal. It disappoints me to say that the food served up was not good. The chicken burger was soaked in a spicy dressing which simply overpowered the dish and was inedible, The cheesy garlic bread and falafels were so bland we felt like we were chewing cardboard. St Austells should really reconsider their food suppliers because I believe this rubbish does not reflect the ability of your chefs! I will say that the staff we encountered on the night were fantastic and a real credit to themselves. We’ll continue to use the pub when in Newquay but only for drinks as there’s much better food on offer throughout the town.

The staff is very friendly and there was always Bear available. There is plenty of space to drink and (outside the weekend night) the music is not too loud.

Party of 6 had the pleasure of eating here on Tuesday. We had booked a table and on entering were warmly welcomed and showed to our table. We were promptly asked for our drinks order, a very good wine was suggested and enjoyed by our group. Our food order was taken by a very informative staff member (sorry I didn’t take her name. However, all the staff we came across were very polite and helpful) We only ordered main course meals, but everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The fish and chips were delicious, not greasy at all. The fish, which was plentiful, was cooked perfectly. Greek Salad was fresh tasting with lots of Feta Cheese. Three Steaks plus Chicken Fajita were all very tasty, cooked and presented beautifully. Would certainly recommend to anyone who enjoys a warm welcome by very professional staff and great food.

The food is great, I've never had a wait for a table and the staff are friendly, including the door staff. No child play area, dog friendly. A nice place to have a meal in Newquay.

They need to sack the DJ, 12 Oct 24. If you’re the DJ you need to be ashamed, might aswell have put heart radio on. Lazy DJ. Honestly it was terrible. I could say much more but won’t.

Absolutely amazing service, food and atmosphere. Ordered the American wrap and fajitas with a sticky toffee pudding for dessert and couldn’t find any faults. Both waitresses Des and Tiff were very kind, and helpful!

One of my all time favorite pubs! Great selection of drinks and really good food. Perfect location to sit outside and watch the world go by or alternatively you can sit inside and watch the footie... Either way you'll have a great time.

My visit to Central Inn was a very good experience. Lunchtime, and even though there was an influx of customers, the staff were friendly and organised. Each customer was seen too in a prompt manner, but still with a smile. Inside, the building seems to go on forever, with I believe, an upstairs too for during peak season. Dogs are welcome and are catered for with water and treats to help yourself to. I would very much recommend a visit, whether for food or just a drink.

Great place for an afternoon stop ..best outdoor seating on a sunny day .the staff were very welcoming and helpful can't go wrong. The food did look amazing alas we did not stay long enough to sample it ,next visit we sure will.

Just wandered down the high St and found the Central. As my wife is celiac food can be an issue but not here. The staff are professional and fully aware of any requirements. The food was fantastic and well cooked, the Gluten free fish and chips..well we couldn't fault it. Staff were great so friendly you're a credit to the business.

Great food and gin served here and other spirits too. Seated inside or outside you should enjoy being here. Would come back again if in Newquay!

We had a brilliant time at Central. The staff were friendly and attentive and were very accommodating of our three year old son. The food was delicious, well cooked and came in good time even on a busy Saturday lunchtime.

Beautiful atmosphere,all tables nice and private,service was fantastic as was the food,fish and chips,fish was cooked perfectly and the meatballs and arribiata sauce was yummy,spicy but I loved it,would definitely visit again,also asked regarding any allergies which I have never been asked before so another plus for sure

It is a pub, I visited around lunch time, but didn't order any food, just a drink. I was there for little less than an hour and observed the several members of staff serving food and drinks to a good standard. the cleanliness of the facilities and the pool table side of the pub needed some attention (sticky floors and smelly toilets) in my opinion, but these are not a reason not to visit

When suffering low blood sugar and had no meds I was assisted by the amazing staff especially Amy, who made sure I was feeling better.

Ok experience. Dirty toilets, slow bar service and outdated accommodation. But it's full of people.

Friendly stop for breakfast, menu was a nice change from the other options, very fresh and reasonable, service good too.

My experience at this place took a terrible turn when the staff became extremely rude and hostile as they were closing for the night. I understand the need to close, but the way they handled it was completely unacceptable. One particular staff member was incredibly arrogant and disrespectful towards my brother. After enduring repeated rudeness, I confronted him, as his behavior was simply out of line. No customer should ever be treated in such a manner. Their approach to customer service needs serious improvement—treating people with hostility is never okay, no matter the circumstances.

The food here is exactly what you think it will be pub grub and decent for the money. The staff however are appalling 1 young gent walking around petting dogs whilst carrying food not to mention the obvious personal hygiene issues. I never comment on an individual but the smell of body odour when he took our plates was disgusting. I l9ve coming here for a drink but would never return for food after seeing what I saw

Gorgeous food and great service from Tiff. My greek feta salad was 100 times better than when we went to actual Greece earlier in the summer holidays. We will definitely be back next year x

100% would recommend this restaurant. The food was amazing. We had the small plates, but each was cooked beautifully and the mains coming to other tables looked great too. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location. Huge building with lots of seats and booths. Thoroughly enjoyed.

We had travelled over to newquay and found ourselves 1 hour early for our booking. We asked if we were OK to eat at 5 instead of 6. The girls couldn't have been anymore accommodating. The food was good, we only ordered basic stuff and I'm no Gordon Ramsey mind. The live music outside is loud so if you want a quiet meal sit inside. It's a really friendly atmosphere, we've been here a couple of times for drinks and food and it's never let us down.

Really disappointed with our visit today, one member of staff in particular made us feel so uncomfortable she was extremely rude and looked as if she didn’t want to be there! A friendly welcoming face goes a long way in my opinion We also had to wait an hour for food with 3 children which wasn’t ideal I will say we couldn’t fault the food and thought it was lovely.

This is truly one of my favourite pubs in Newquay. Great food (Steak on the stones! So good!) and great service from a girl named Tiff, who was polite and very helpful as my date was late and helped me with the ordering of the food. Will absolutely come back, cannot complain Thank you Central

We frequent central and have never had a bad service or meal. It’s a lovey atmosphere always, and our lovely server Tiff made us feel right at home. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back :)

We recently met up with some friends visiting us for Lunch in The Central. They remarked how much very really enjoyed their food (as we did) and the wonderful service from all the friendly staff. This is why we have no worries about recommending the Central. They especially wanted to thank Benn the Manager for stopping by to make them so welcome.

Waited 120 minutes for food! Other diners got their food before us even though arriving after us! When our food order did come out it was wrong so had to wait another 15 mins! Waitress was very rude
