We nipped in for a quick drink, the orange wine was delicious and the place has a nice atmosphere. We had some little snacks whilst visiting.

We visited here a year ago and were delighted with the cheese and wine offering, making a special trip to enjoy again. Last year the offering was delightful - this year not so. Indeed as we drove home, we commented it was a poor offering and pricey >£60 for two glasses of wine, some Ortiz sardines and toast and the platters. The photos show last year and this year. Maybe our memory led us to an expectation. So often return visits are an anti-climax. Regardless, it is a very pleasant place to sit and enjoy with a delightful young lad serving us. Thanks to her.

Really cool little spot on the square with seating outside as well as in the main bar. We went for pre-dinner drinks and some little nibbles, and had such a great experience that we returned after dinner for a post-dinner drink. The service was fantastic from our very knowledgeable host, Tamsin. Highly recommend!

Went in for a glass of wine and to wind down after a long drive. Very friendly reception in a pretty small place which as far as we were able to assess, consisted of two rooms, one of which also housed the bar. Very basic furnishing but I guess that could be due to the atmosphere they wanted to create. The menu was given to us and although the prices for wine and food were on the high side, being on holiday for a couple of days, I wouldn't say they were exhorbitant - until it arrived. Two small wines and one Aperol Spritz came to £30 with the food (cheese plate & wild boar pate) setting us back £25 - add the already calculated service charge and the total was £61.88. Home of the main well cooked and presented meals we had on this trip weren't much more expensive. Now had the portions been a bit larger, it may have been reasonable but to be honest, I do think it was too expensive for what we got. Onl the plus side, it was tasty and we were given 3 pieces of Foccacia as we were sharing so not too negative a view. My normal measure is, would i go back and this would be debatable. Only the price/quantity was a turnoff for me as everything else was nice, comfortable (if you are a doggy person), and good staff so I would not rule a return out. Certainly not be running back, however.

Nice enough place although empty when we went in which is not surprising because the prices are absolutely outrageous for very little Those that don't mind spending an exorbitant amount should be quite happy

Loved everything about this place. We stopped for a light lunch. Perfect choice and size of small plates and an unusual wine list, including organic wines. The best olives, delicious focaccia and anchovies in a can (always a favourite), generous charcuterie and cheese plates. And great service from our host. Super find.

Spent a lovely couple of hours watching the world going by whilst sitting outside The Cellar. We paired the white wine tasting menu with a cheese plate, olives, almonds and a meat platter. Absolutely lovely way to spend an afternoon. The wines were wonderful and so pleasantly explained to us. Would thoroughly recommend

What a find !! We absolutely loved this spot. Service was one of the best we came across in the cotswolds. We missed the servers name but he was so personable and knowledgeable. The location is great, looking out across the square and taking in the atmosphere. We got a cheese board to share and some wine. I’d go back in a heart beat.

Stumbled on this place and what a great experience. The guys running it were both exceptionally knowledgeable and we had a fantastic evening tasting or drinking I suppose a lot of different wines with them showing us how to taste. We had chessboard and charcuterie which although expensive, added to our evening out. All in all a great time with helpful and fun staff. Thoroughly recommend this place.

Shocking !! As a qualified and certified food preparer with a successful Grazing business, I was astounded with the poor standard and poor value for money we received today . Despite bringing this to their attention, our concern was quickly dismissed, which was shocking as the venue was empty and my husband was polite and simply enquired if the £15 Charcuterie plate was indicative of their usual offering. It contained 80% sliced fat and a tiny amount of meat. He was assured it was high quality charcuterie !! If you want a saucer full of high quality fat - it’s the place for you. 3 small pieces of cheese completed the £15 cheeseboard which was nice but not generous. Overall , nice drinks but don’t waste your money on food

An off chance find whilst in Stow on the Wold. Delightful. The ambience is good - comfortable and the staff very pleasant and accommodating. We had both the cheese board and the charcuterie platter. Both came with sourdough baguette, gherkins and lovely butter. Good wine chosen from the menu, though perhaps we should have chosen a bottle and lingered longer (corkage £12 - maybe a little steep for two?) The portions of cheese (4 good sized pieces) and the charcuterie from Salt Pig were more than adequate and very good quality. We most certainly will visit again when next in the area. Indeed, we would go out of our way!

I did an amazing review last night as we had sucj a good time. Tonight my first glass of wine was not good. I couldn't drink it as it was sharp and not good. I took it back to the counter and asked for anothee wine that I had been drinking the night before. Neither of the two lads asked why I had brought back a nearly full glass of wine back. BAD customer service. They charged me full price doe the returned wine. I gave them the benefit of the doubt to ask why I had returned the wine. If any business is going to survive you need to ask customers why they are returning a near full glass of wine. Good customer service is dealing with any problems that seem to be arising and find out what the issue is. We spent over £100 last night with no issues. Today we had an issue that the owners chose to ignore.

I can completely see that it's nice to have something different from the usual pub grub in a place that's filled with lots of the same type of venue. And it's nice to have a different style of venue too. The concept in itself is great, but we left feeling quite underwhelmed. The wines on offer were all great, and the host was happy to listen to our preferences and recommend a bottle, which was helpful. However it's not a place to eat a meal and the charcuterie board we ordered was very disappointing, with about 45% of each piece of meat being white fat. The bread it came with also had a "smoked lard" to spread on it, rather than butter. The huge olives felt like they'd been sat in a jar of brine for way too long and were too much for us. It was all just a bit too much for us and we left a little flat feeling it could have been so much better.

The cafe is very basic which is fine, however, the prices are too high. Two coffees over nine pounds. We did have oat milk instead of cows and one was decaf but even so that’s the most we have been charged for two medium sized coffees anywhere in the UK. There was even a 10% service charge added to the bill which again was a first for us in a cafe. Staff were very nice but we won’t return. There is a limit to how much we want to pay for coffee. It’s not £9+.

The bread and cakes from here are epic - really good Croissant and the Sourdough is top class - can perch indoors if you are lucky or sit outside on some rather flimsy folding chairs, either way teh coffee is very good and even better with a bun! Quality of product is the main attraction, its not a large enterprise like some of the other places nearby. Worth finding.

If I could give Smiths of Bourton a 10-star rating, I would. My husband agreed with me that our burgers from Smiths were absolutely the best we have ever had. I don't know if it was because of the seasoning, special sauce, or grilling technique. It really did not matter as we thoroughly savored every bite. I am so glad we stumbled across Smiths during our stroll through Bourton-on-the-Water. It is an awewsome restaurant.
