The Cedar Tree Restaurant in New Forest

Excellent menu choice, the Chefs dish of the day was beautiful. Salmon encrusted with potato, samphire, broccoli spears and sauce, the desert of chocolate bread and butter pudding was heavenly.

Recently ate at the restaurant really enjoyed it ,the cauliflower and mushroom pasanda was lovely I added prawns to mine and my husband had the fish and chips , our friends had the fish pie which had loads of fish all food came out well presented and was tasty., all staff that served us were very friendly , we also ate here for the breakfast that too was really nice it was a mix of self serve for the toast and preserves pastries yoghurt cereals etc then an order was taken when ready for the cooked breakfast .

We had bed and breakfast at the South Lawn Hotel during our 4 night stay. The choice of cereals and pastries was excellent. The full English was excellent as was the Healthy Option of smoked salmon and poached eggs on brioche rolls. We also had three evening meals, choosing the 2 course special menu for £18.50. This was excellent value for a 2 course meal. The food was nicely cooked and quite delicious. The service very pleasant and friendly.

Eating here is always a pleasure, whether its breakfast or dinner. Dinner has always been a good experience here, always cooked very well and presented well too and they have a pretty solid wine list - on this visit, woolloomooloo shiraz comes to mind, both red and white are very good indeed, just difficult to say if you have had a couple of drinks already! Breakfast is always very enjoyable, especially the cooked one; always cooked freshly and always presented very well. All the staff are friendly and accommodating if you want to deviate a bit from the stated menu. I just love the grilled bacon with fried eggs - I found out where that bacon comes from on this trip and so we descended on the butcher at the Everton Garden Centre to grab some before returning to Wales. The most outstanding meal on this visit was by far the Grilled Ribeye Steak, one of the best we have ever had anywhere - compliments to the chef without a doubt!

As part of our stay at the hotel we booked a dinner in the restaurant, very good menu. Vegetarian option ! and the food was excellent could not fault anything including the service, The bar area is also very relaxing.

We ate in the restaurant whilst staying in the hotel overnight. The food was really very good indeed, and we appreciated the generous portions of vegetables.

Wonderful breakfast nothing was too much trouble cooked to perfection! The Staff were very friendly and efficient. Throughly recommend.

We recently returned to stay again at the hotel for 4 nights, so had breakfast each morning. There is plenty of choice and the staff are very accommodating when taking orders for the cooked choices. The breakfast was delicious and well cooked. We chose to eat dinner in the restaurant each evening. We had our dogs with us and the staff were very welcoming. There was a good choice of food on the menu plus a daily chefs special. The food was delicious, well cooked and nicely presented. We will be back soon.

A lovely selection from the buffet area, followed by a tasty cooked breakfast. I had a full English on the first morning and couldn’t manage lunch ,but was ready for my evening meal! I had the fish pie which was delicious. The following evening I had glazed chicken, also very well prepared and tasty. Both meals came with a selection of fresh steamed vegetables which I particularly enjoyed. The staff are polite, well trained and professional and I look forward to returning to eat in the restaurant soon.

I have eaten at the restaurant many times. They are currently running a chef's special daily which is excellent value. My recent visit was up to the usual high standard and am happy to see that Cedars is currently No. 1 rated for Milford on Sea.

I have really enjoyed eating every single tasty freshly cooked meal over the past few years in The Cedar Tree Restaurant and in the garden on summer days, which you can't say about most hotel restaurants. The friendly staff can't do enough to get you - and your dog - everything you ask for.
