I found this hidden gem through my daughter ...this guy Costa who I thought had either retired when he left private she found him again in Sudbury now called the Catch...although we never had met in the last 12 years he knew who I was right away and it was the same with his food nothing had changed and if an8his standards were higher...Thankyou Costa for keeping a least one good Fish and Chip shop alive ....A credit to the game....although I have a 12 mile round trip for my supplies I wont go anywhere else nowExcellent food .....now and again you always get one critic as the saying goes you cant please them all....but you certainly try...Well Done...Mr & Mrs J C.

Been to the Catch - Fish & Chips many times and always very good. Be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes, as fish is always cooked from fresh - not sitting around - if you want fast turnaround put in a phone order ahead of your arrival.

I am a regular at this shop because it is consistently good. Decent portions of beautifully battered fresh fish and plenty of chips all served by very pleasant staff and manager. Certainly the best in the area. There is also a comprehensive varied menu to consider

Had cod and chips here. It was fresh cooked but very pricey. I expect most of the cost goes into their fancy packaging. Seemed clean enough and friendly but despite the good reviews I’d been given it just wasn’t up to scratch when we went.

WE VISITED THIS FISH AND CHIP , i asked for 2 fish and chips 2 soft drinks, i was asked eat in or take away, i said we will eat in, the lady said it was more expensive to eat in the restaurant , i said we will eat in the front , she said it will be about 15 minutes i said thats ok, we sat down at the table , about 15 to 20 minutes later the lady behind the counter shouted out your dinner is ready , my wife went and collected it , it was in a fish box , no plate and a plastic knife and fork in the box, i said to my wife where is the sauce ,there was no tomatoe sauce or salt or anything on the table , i said to my wife can you ask for some tomatoe sauce , the lady was telling her it was 30pence for a sachet , and £1.30 for mushy peas, at this point i was politely annoyed , i told my wife to forget it, having paid£20 already , you would think that you would get a satchet free, as all the other fish and chip shops give them free, or have a bottle on the table, a plate a knife and fork , i mean a proper one would be good, not plastic, no pepper or salt on table too, to be honest i think the staff are in no way helpful, no smile no politness ,pay £20 its a laugh, fish ok , chips horrid, no taste , we were frightned to ask for salt or pepper , it might be more money. this is a fish and chip shop we will never visit again , we will stick to the ones that dont charge , 30 pence for a tiny satchet of tomatoe sauce , we would need 2, 60 pence , joke.

This was a firm favourite local chippy offering exceptional quality of food and customer service, Verification of its credentials was demonstrated by a host of awards: 3 times London Borough of Ealing best fish and chip restaurant and the ultimate acolade of being placed in the top 10 UK chippies in the National Fish and Chips Awards. So when the long term proprieters sold up and moved away, like for many locals, it was an irreplaceable lost. After many years by pure chance someone told me about a wonderful restaurant in their area; by comparing details it became obvious this might be my long lost chippy. More in hope I made my way up to Harrow expecting false raised expectations so imagine my surprise and joy finding re-discovering a long-lost stalwart. The 'new' restaurant under a different name is definitely an improvement in terms of premises. The glass walls all around makes for a lighter airier feel with furnishings in tones of grey and black; it is spacious, clean with space for tables for dining in though most custom is takeaway (also online orders/Deliveroo).The food is the highlight, I know everyone seems to think their local is the best, but the quality of the fish here is first class. My personal favourite is the large hot, tender, flaking cod (middle cut) with gorgeous crispy batter . The chips are fluffy and fried in good quality oils and there is always such a good portion. They offer a full range of fish and chip shop favourites: other types of fish, chicken, pies, sausages/saveloys, mushy peas, curry sauce, etc. With such great quality food and paucity of high quality retaurants in this part of Middlesex it is popular and can be busy. I have never experiened this but I would argue it is obvious any restaurant that serves quality food will always be popular/busy. I know people who travel quite far to come here.A final word must be said about the other main feature of this restaurant namely the staff. Customer service here is excellent: courteous, always a smile and efficient. National Fish and Chips Day is on 1 June so what better incentive to try this restaurant by then.

I've been to this fish and chip shop a few times either with friends or family in the past few months and we have been nothing short of delighted. The fish is always freshley cooked with a light batter.. Great portion sizes and generously priced. I would recommend this restaurant/take away to any and everybody!

From Costa’s in Perivale to The Catch Fish & Chips in Sudbury, I am so glad to have found this place. The fish and chips here is amazing. Hats off to the owner. There’s also a seating area at the back. It’s very clean and the food is well presented. I definitely recommend this place

Came for lunch at 1pm on the Bank Holiday Monday, ordered drinks and got a high chair. Tried to order food a few minutes later for my toddler while we decided what we wanted; to be told A) they don’t do half the kids menu that I had looked up online and B) the kitchen was temporarily closed while she covered the bar. I asked how long food would be as my child needed to eat soon, and was told 20 minutes. My family then decided what we wanted and I tried to order about 10 minutes later to be then told the kitchen was still closed she couldn’t take our order. Clearly food would then be longer than 20 minutes. Would have been nice to have been told we couldn’t get food when I asked for the highchair as we wouldn’t have wasted our time or money on drinks and just gone somewhere else which we ended up doing anyway, but now with a very grumpy child. Have been coming to this pub for 25 years and the service has never been so poor.

Heriots cakes used to be awesome and really good, however the chocolate fudge cake (8 inch £40) was just as terrible as it can get, it tasted cheap and when we cut it it was as hard as you can imagine and pretty sugary in a nutshell it was probably the worst cake we have ever purchased from cake shop.... Too bad this the last time we are buying after they were the first name we always think about whenever it comes to cakes!!!

We wanted to treat ourselves, as both off work and not been to Castle for a while. We were not disappointed. We both had sunday roasts, which were excellent. Roasties, yorkshire pud, quality of meat, cooking of veg, gravy, all superb. Staff very welcoming and efficient. Definately be going back. Only quibble is main dining area very dark, maybe take screens off windows in there to let some light in. Table numbers would be useful. Other than that, brilliant!
