Just had a pint. No food served on Saturdays. Only had micro brewery bitter from it was ok. Good range of outdoor seating. Plenty of parking.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Katie and her boss who recently opened the pub especially for us so that we were able to celebrate what would have been my father's 100th birthday. My grandparents were previous licencees of the pub and The Cat held a very special place in my Dad's heart. Thanks to Katie coming in on her day off we were able to spend a very special time showing our own grandchildren a little of their family history. Thank you thank you thank you.

What a fantastic public house with the most amazing history. This place wants to stay as it is forever. I can imagine the Battle of Britain pilots and ground crews in here and the photos on the wall bring it alive. Not immaculate and not meant to be. A fantastic atmosphere and piece of history.

We take elderly clients who used the Cat and Custard Pot when they were stationed at the nearby airbase. They enjoy the memories and the ambience. Where it falls down is with the food which has been indifferent at best for quite a while. One person ordered fish - and it was very dry. Another ordered a steak which was tough and tasteless. And the cook went home before we could offer dessert. Its sad because it used to be very good.

A fantastic pub. It was originally a pub used by RAF fighter pilots and officers stationed at RAF Hawkinge. The pub is full of aviation memorabilia and often hosts fantastic WW2 reenactors resplendent in their period dress. The food, choice of beer and staff are quite wonderful and it is a pub that instantly charms. There is also a wonderful billiards (not pool!!) table for patrons to use.

We stopped here for a cocktail with a view to dining if we liked the look of the menu. The young man, Freddie, who served us was polite and attentive. He was in his second week there (a student in his gap year) and doing very well. The cocktails were nice, the food was lovely and we thought, reasonably priced for the quality of the restaurant. Would definitely return should we find ourselves in Folkstone again. Thank you for a very enjoyable dinner with such good service.

Had a later lunch been here before so know the food is really good We went in seated immediately and ordered a 2 person platter Not a long wait and platter arrived worth every penny food is cooked to perfection what we couldn’t eat we were able to bring home in a take away box My husband loved the box of Turkish delight which he polished off that evening We know it gets very busy here so bear that in mind it might be worth booking a table ahead of time
