Food was good for the price can't complain, typical pub food better than spoons. Good choice for adults and kids. Lovely bar staff very helpful and didn't feel rushed, plenty of space too

Went for breakfast on Saturday. Service was friendly and welcoming. Food was hot, looked good and tasted delicious 😋. We then returned later that evening for a very tasty lasagne and a few cocktails. Definitely good value for money. We will be returning. Thank you. 😊

Popped in for a cheeky pub lunch to catch up with a friend. Great food we had the 2 starters 2 mains and 2 drinks for £20 great value. All the staff gave perfect service and very happy and polite 😀 really great atmosphere. Do try the baconaisle chicken wings they exceeded my expectations

We had our staff christmas meal here last night and it was great! The food was lovely, the girl serving us at the table was amazing - we had filled in a prebooking for all meals so everything went extremely smoothly even with 11 of us! The atmosphere was good and we were given our own private section with complimentary fizz which was a lovely touch! Thanks so much to everyone at the castle we had a great time

Looked a really good pub. Guinness needs a bit more attention, the pint wasn't the best. We only stayed for a couple as they weren't able to show the football game we requested as others had booked earlier. Great looking pub and the service whilst we were there was friendly and quick.

Really nice since the refurb. It’s more than a lick of paint it’s massively improved. Seems to be a different vibe though. I’ve watch loads of matches here. My only reservation recently is last few times I came to visit for a premier league or international match since refurb they weren’t showing. Fair enough rugby takes precedent in Wales, got to respect that but they used to have one screen showing EPL. Tonight no showing of the 5pm international game Ireland vs England. Again we are in Wales but I’d expect it to be on it’s as a decent one for neutrals and Celtic nation. Recently it seems like a more reserved dining vibe. It’s still a great pub massively refurbished but I’m hoping next time I come to see a footy match it will be on, busy and have loud commentary.

Nice pub for a drink or a good meal. Staff were friendly and food arrived quickly.

Just popped in whilst visiting our son at university. Very friendly and served a great pint!

The food was really good and could not fault the service. The best compliment I can leave is that my stroppy 14year old granddaughter thought it was the best steak she had ever eaten.

The burger I ate was DELICIOUS and the price was almost too low for its quality. Love the atmosphere, perfect place to eat a lunch or get pissed. (I ate lunch)

The Castle has a Lovely Landlady and fantastic staff, who are so friendly and welcoming.They all work so well together and work so hard but at the same time create a lovely atmosphere, which makes you want to go back time and time again. There is a great choice of drinks, and a lovely choice of food which is always hot, and at a great price. This has to be the best pub with the best staff and atmosphere I have ever come accross, absolutely amazing staff every single one of them. Guaranteed to cheer you up. Most importantly I Always feel safe at the Castle, and always have a great time either day or night. Great place for families to visit for lunch or dinner, or even on your own, with friends, or even with your little fur baby as it is also Dog friendly.

Can i say I had a fantastic time when I visited the bar staff could not do enough very friendly and polite. The Land lady was so welcoming with my two dogs. The food was hot and enjoyable. A good selection of beer. There is a very funny camp bar man I think his name was Ben he was so nice and helpful. Will definitely be returning. Thanks to you all

I love Sarah to bits she has been there for me when I have been in a bad place and never what her to go if she does I will never go in that place again and I mean it I could go on and on and on I love her she is the best don't take her away from me or the people of Bangor

This place is bloody brilliant. My girlfriend and I were in bangor for 2 nights and had a table booked for football yesterday. It turns out I booked it for the wrong date - a week later! Sarah was wonderfully understanding and got us the table we requested despite it being busy. Nothing was too much trouble. Jamie was absolutely fantastic, taking the time to come over and talk to us and our dog. As it was my girfriends birthday weekend, he even gave us some blow up 'stuff' and some flashing lights and orchestrated a full pub sing along of happy birthday. We have the thai green curry on Friday and the Chicken Tikka Massala on the Saturday - both were spot on. All of the staff are super attention, service is fast and as soon as your glass is empty or your plates are clear, theyre removed. Honestly, going here, enjoying the atmosphere and service is what made our weekend great. What a great place and the clientele were all nice and up for a laugh too. If you're in Bangor, go here. If you arent in Bangor, then go to Bangor and go here - you won't regret it. THANKS AGAIN GUYS!

Lovely local and student pub with entertainment on during the academic year, with lots of sports televised throughout the year and lots of seating. The service is quick with polite and conscientious staff.

Went here with some mates a few days ago. A spacious pub with a great choice of drinks. The bean chilli burger was delicious; good to see there was a range of vegetarian options. Drew made us feel welcome as soon as we went to the bar, and was very friendly with each of us. He went out his way to make conversation and made it a very enjoyable evening.

I went in for food and drinks with some friends the other day and everyone was so friendly. I was served by Drew who went above and beyond making us feel welcome, comfortable and gave the best experience. Would recommend going!

I've been in a few times for different reasons, and I can't fault it. When I've been in for drinks, there has been a great selection, and the food is always of good quality. The staff are great and the service quick, if you're looking for a spot for a quick pint and decent pub food in lower Bangor, then this is place to visit.

Stunning pub! Very spacious inside, staff very friendly and reasonably priced! Been in here a few times and always feel very welcome and staff are really helpful. It was steady for lunch time. Lovely bar stools at the bar and then a varied selection of tables and chairs. We took our dog in the pub and they offered our dog a bowl of water which was really lovely 😊. They came out very fast with the food and it was stunning!

Lovely friendly pub we popped in with our two dogs. Made to feel very welcome we ordered a sausage sandwich and chicken gougons both were delicious. Even provided a bowl of treats and water for our dogs . Would definitely call again if visiting this area again

Staff friendly but food was undercooked partly served and over priced. The customer area was sticky under foot and the bar was covered in drink.

So friendly felt like being at home . For is as you would expect great value. We only had burgers but they where delicious the chicken cheese bacon burger was awesome.

Dirty floor that you stick to when you walk across it. Dirty stained tables. Worn thread bare and split seats, tied paintwork needs a refurbishment and the tan need to keep in top of cleaning. So dirty we decided to eat elsewhere.

Came here for a couple of beers and food with my partner. The food was lovely and I thought It was good value for money the beer was nice . The woman who was working was very polite and friendly . Are tables were clean we will be coming again when we’re next in the area . I would recommend the burning Caroline reaper burger for any one who loves hot food and a good burger comes with a alcohol drink for £11.49 you can’t go wrong

Excellent food and good atmosphere. Friendly staff, up beat but pool table is desperately in need of levelling! Impressed with mixed grill and peppercorn sauce . Great value and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend.

Nice enough pub in the centre of Bangor with reasonable prices. We didn't have food but it looked fine going out. Quick, friendly service. Perfect for what we wanted on Saturday.

Food is always good and the castle pub quiz is always a good night out! Always good to see Aidan behind the bar too, always puts our orders on the right SU tab without us having to ask!

Top service by the staff, especially Aidan who a cut above the rest. A stand out bar man who makes sure the customers are really cared about no matter what time of day!

When I was a student in Bangor, Castle was my go to place for drinks and food. Even though I've graduated, it's still my favourite pub and that's mainly because of the staff. I want to give a specific shoutout to Aidan, who gives each customer the same stellar service and makes everyone feel welcome each time they visit.

Local with a fairly extensive menu of American-style food. There is a lot of sports atmosphere and they show matches from the most popular teams on multiple televisions. The service is quite fast and the food is not bad.

Pub in Bangor. Centrally located near the mall. Typical bar food, good beers and cider. Ideal for watching sports as there are lots of screens The chicken tikka masala was very good, typical pub food.

Came here today food and service was OK nothing special my little lad ordered chicken goughons off the kids menu and it was the whiteist goughons I've seen! He said they tasted horrible aswel normally very good chain greatukpubs probably won't return to this one.

I come here VERY frequently, often several times a week. You get very good and polite service, and very often the place is at least fairly busy if not very busy, so a very good atmosphere as well. I have also been given a 'Locals Discount Card' where certain drinks can be bought slightly cheaper (My card shown in the photo is a bit 'Worse for wear' now). Very satisfied!!
