There were 8 of us, 2 were staying at the resort and the rest of us fairly local. We'd not eaten there since the new management and at first didn't quite understand the setup, with menus for the Indian cuisine and a board with other pub food. But we had quite a mixture of things among us, and all of it was very tasty. The chef was very accommodating - we asked if potatoes come with the lamb, and they made mash for us by request. Their service was really attentive, and they made the restaurant lovely in it's atmosphere, with the proprietor even amazing us with magic tricks that were really good! There weren't many people there, but it was nice that they pulled out the stops for us. We'll definitely be returning, and I hope they do well there.

This restaurant has only been open since April '24 as I understand it, however, many of the reviews are from a previous restaurant with the same name. This is extremely misleading as the reviews suggest A 4.5 star rating which really couldn't be further from the truth. The grounds around the building look beautiful but once you get closer you can see the sad tired building and the interior is worse. The crisp white table cloths on the photos were replaced with bare tables and sticky homemade table mats. It's very much a 'this will do' interior. The owner was very friendly but didn't seem to know how to run a restaurant which is surprising as I understand he has done for many years. No plates cleared so we had to balance one plate on another to eat. Plastic water glasses which should have been thrown away. Questionable quality/freshness of poppadoms and sauces. Portion sizes, very small. One of our party was given chips with a congealed white sauce which was supposed to be cheesy chips. Another had coconut chicken with no coconut. I could go on. Needless to say, we won't go back.

The owner and his wife were so helpful when we checked into Macdonald resort after hours. So we had to go for dinner the next night. Our dishes were amszing as well as desert. Portion sizes just right. The Naan was thinner than my preference. The Malbec wine was good. 3 hours of relaxation.

We were lucky to find this Indian restaurant, the food was delicious, authentic and tastes just like homemade. Very nice service and it was a delight to meet the restaurant owner Mayur Raj Verma who we recognised from the bollywood movies, he was a child actor, such a humble gentleman he is. This is a lovely restaurant in a stunning location, we were so happy we visited this place.

Definitely not the best! We thought we’d have a take away save cooking in the van while being away, almost £40 for 2 meals and a naan, my mild curry had a strange cheesy undertone it was so awful I couldn’t actually eat it but we weren’t in driving distance to even head back this appears to be our saving grace as it’s definitely not one for a return visit for us

Hello, we came from London on 26 August and pick up the food at night and paid 115 GBP. The owner said that the food will be very tasty but to be honest the food was very bad. We tried veg options as well as non veg options. The worse part is that we ordered parathas and rotis and you will be shock to hear that they gave the frozen Roti (the packet one) rather than fresh Roti. Never go to this restaurant the food is very bad and the price they are charging is very high. You will regret about the taste after eating.

We travelled to have our dinner after a long day to be disappointed. Food quality not good, portions are very small, chapatti, poori, never seen such bad as in a restaurant. Pizza is just cheese and tomato burnt in a tortilla wrap. They are also using old restaurant name in google which is very misleading. Don’t recommend to any one

We booked a table for four to celebrate a friends birthday. On arrival we were offered a table in a small room adjoining the bar. This room was full of young children running wild and at that point we were ready to leave. We accepted the offer of a table upstairs in the restaurant where we were the only guests. Alarm bells should have gone off! The table was not clean, crumbs were left on the tablecloth and the placemats were sticky. The menu is very limited, two chicken dishes and one with lamb. We all chose a chicken dish, three of us ate our food and one of us didn't because it wasn't liked. The food is not the best. The three of us who ate our food fell ill during the early hours of the following morning, the person who didn't eat was fine. Very disappointing.

2023...closed. moved to holiday village 20 miles away. What a shame. 2022 update. Now open again after pandemic. Still absolutely excellent. Real Indian food served in a great atmosphere. Booking essential. -------- Wow. Never expected to find such a place in the shadow of Cadair Idris! Fabulous authentic indian food served in a great setting by lovely people. This is not the usual curry house fayre, but real food. This place would rival the best in Birmingham (my home town) or Leicester (my adopted town). Superb from start to finish, and Raj kindly offered us a couple of tasters of other things from the menu - and they were fabulous too. We will definitely be back !

This gets 4.4 for reviews on Google, but something is weird. Have a look at some of the 5 star reviews and they are drivel; probably bots. Some of the pictures in the reviews suggest it used to be an actual Indian restaurant. Not any more. It's a pub/restaurant in a holiday village. It has a limited menu, and half of that is typical bar meals (lasagne, pizza). The place hasn't had much love recently it's pretty tired. The food was very mixed. We had two curries and a pizza. The dal was ok, but the chicken curry was poor. The pizza was terrible. The pakora were very nice though. The £13 for the curries was too much. Would definitely not come back. The best bit of our experience was the server. Very friendly.

Slightly weird set-up and feels un restaurant like when you first go in and runs with a limited menu. Our table was a bit grubby with food stains from previous guests under our mats. Well what can I say...... What a lovely little place this is💕💕💕 Went to Fairbourne for the day and upon leaving saw this Indian and phoned on spec to check if they were open. I was told only for takeaway and when I Said "Oh, not to eat in then?" Was asked how many of us there were, "just 2". The owner said " Give me 15 mins and I'll set up a table for you "!! How lovely is that? They only do 2 tables on a Saturday night and they were already booked in but we were lucky enough aswell. We felt so looked after, the owner was so nice and couldn't do enough for us. His wife does the cooking and it was really authentic and traditional. The traditional peshwari naan bread is to die for. Not doughy at all and really sweet. 5 STARS 🌟 Highly recommend this hidden gem. If you are lucky enough to get in.

How this place has 4.5 stars is a complete mystery to me. An absolute abomination to cookery . If anybody has the slightest clue about Indian cuisine then you need to steer clear of this place and save yourself the fortune they charge for such sub standard food. Upon ringing through to make a table booking we were asked if we could takeaway instead however wanted to sit in so we were what’s apped to pre order. The atmosphere of the restaurant was ok, good lighting however unfortunately food was disappointing. We ordered chilli paneer along with a couple of curry dishes which were very small portions for the price they were. Surprised they asked us to pre order as there were only two other tables full. We were given complimentary pakora which arrived as small battered under seasoned bits of greens. Not so sure if they taste their dishes before sending out as a bit of seasoning would have improved all dishes. The daal was extremely bland and chilli paneer tasted like cubes of under cooked cheese smothered in sriracha chilli sauce and tomato ketchup. Not sure the poppadoms were fresh as tasted like the packet ones from a supermarket. Rice over cooked and topping it off with quite an expensive bill to foot. Luckily we were pretty hungry so it filled a hole but really wouldn’t recommend for future.

We have visited this restaurant many many times and have never been disappointed. The host is so accommodating and the food consistently delicious. I think most people would agree that the best place to eat Indian food might be India. Failing that; the bigger cities in England where the taste has grown immensely since the 60’s. Being brung up in Derby and a citizen of the East Midlands I might not be an expert but am used to a variety of Asian cuisines. When I first visited this little restaurant a decade ago I was astounded to find such a brilliant chef and such a careful, attentive owner in far west Wales, off the beaten track, so far away from the big cities. I expected a plate of curry and rice and was, to our pleasure, astounded. A decade on we still visit Indiana Cousine every single time we visit Einion House, (the best guesthouse in the west), as the food is so good. Book early beforehand and discuss what you would like to eat with Raj. He will advise and you will not be disappointed. At the moment they are trying to restrict in house bookings but, as covid eases, that may change. The area, in general, has suffered much during the lockdown and the sea has not helped. The front looks run down which may be off-putting. Believe me none of that matters since the food is excellent. There is, simply, no better asian restaurant for a hundred miles!

I ordered a take out on Saturday 21August from here. The food was extremely expensive but appalling. The meat dishes had very little meat in all 3, the rice was clumpy as though it had been microwaved ,the chips appeared to have been warmed and reheated several times. It was all thrown in the bin despite us being hungry.I can honestly say it’s the worst curry I have every had in 30 years and I have a take out curry weekly. I would not give any stars in fact I would give it minus 5 stars. .

Despite it being very late and a quiet Sunday evening, the owner was super helpful and accommodating - he opened up the little garden/terrace area especially for us and his wife prepared some delicious dishes for us both - lamb curry (was delicious, nice heat level and meat was very tender) and a prawn Karachi (again, full of flavor and good ration of prawn:sauce) and well as some rice, delicious parathas, and popadums! We had a very strange experience eating here, greeted with warm pints of Cobra which had been individually poured into pint glasses from bottles to give the illusion that they were on draft. This illusion was destroyed due to having only one bottle opener, and our first round taking over an hour to be served. They soon gave up and left bottles on our tables. I asked for a menu and was handed one takeaway menu between six with the comment “you don’t want to see what you’re eating here do you?” They brought out a selection of very deep fried snacks, the type that you would find in an ‘Iceland curry banquet’ pack. The mixed grill course was the redeeming feature, it certainly made up for what had been a dismal start. Then four very small curries arrived, with one piece of meat each, between the six of us as part of a larger group. Without forgetting the one bowl of rice to share with one Naan bread, so it’s fair to say that portion sizes felt conservative. The curries themselves were very good so no complaints from the one mouthful I had. The waiter/owner was a bizarre chap, he locked us in at one point because he either didn’t want other customers to arrive to create further chaos or he either thought we would leave without paying. There was no music to cut through the stale atmosphere, it was an all round strange evening. One of my fellow dining compatriots had to put some Bollywood classics on to create some ambience. The £36 per head fee for this experience was a surprise, although why wouldn’t you when you’re the only Indian in the area and when you’ve locked your punters in. Maybe give this one a miss if you’re passing by.

Pretty poor to be honest, perhaps even the worst currys I've had. We were grateful to find a takeaway open on our way to our airbnb. We were surprised how expensive it was but after a long drive we were willing to pay to get some decent food. Unfortunately looked like very little effort had gone into making it, flavours were either bland or sharp, and the textures were just a bit...wrong (god knows that the "Indiana" is meant to be, but I could be really rude with that description). Reminded me of a budget supermarket microwave curry. Hopefully they were just on a bad day and the standard is usually better.

A hidden gem that's remarkably well used! A full restaurant greeted us even on a blustery and very dark winter's night where we discovered a different take to the usual contemporary BIR (British Indian Restaurant) fayre. Here there is a strong emphasis on producing well balanced, delicately fragrant spiced food - rather than taking things to the more dizzy heights of the taste bud numbing scoville scale. It's nice to taste all the fresh ingredients, complimented, rather than dominated by the spice combinations. A relatively small menu means that the dishes featured have all been mastered. Expect a convivial and unrushed dining experience because each dish will be freshly prepared especially for YOU. This isn't a grab a curry type meal. It's one to be savoured and enjoyed. So. We discovered a genuinely authentic experience featuring some excellent Asian fayre in a very beautiful and unexpected rural location. I suspect this restaurant was once a closely guarded secret but I can see that the secret's out - especially amidst the more descerning lovers of fine subcontinental cuisine. Booking, I would suggest is highly recommended because this is only a smallish restaurant of 20 or so covers. We were there on a pretty miserable winter's evening but the place was very well attended. I dare say the summer months means a regular full house. Easy access from the railway station - for those who prefer to WINE and DINE. A very pleasant surprise and a truly great find. One for the diary!

We had the take away as we were holidaying with the dog. After reading all the reviews we thought we were in for a treat. £38.80 for two standard meals and two portion of onion barges, OUCH! Same thing back home £22. Oh well it must be amazing, sadly not it was just okay. The owners are very nice and the restaurant is pleasant but as a takeaway don't waste your money.

This is undoubtedly the best Indian cuisine I have ever had. Better by far then the Michelin stared Indian at the Complete Angler in Marlow.

Delicious food and extremely friendly service. We called there tonight not realising it was Diwali, the owner said they were only serving takeaway (which we were more than happy with) but he ended up giving us a table and inviting us to stay. Lovely friendly service. Would highly recommend

This is Indian eating for people who know a thing or two. Raj is proper old school, out front, meeting and serving as if it were his home. To find this place in Fairbourne is quite unexpected and gives holiday makers and locals a treat. Not too pricey, very down to earth, good food and service, clean and easy to park. Winner.

A very cosy, queer-friendly pub. They do a good selection of their own cocktails (would recommend Shrek's Cum) and the staff are lovely. There is also usually a pub quiz on Sundays, which is good fun. They have the occasional bar snacks, but otherwise don't serve food.

Really good! Car park over the road, short walk costs approx £6 overnight. Staff incredibly helpful and rooms clean and quiet. Will honestly stay here again as 2 large supermarkets either side and a mcdonalds down the road.

Called for a drink, friendly leading us to the table, drinks were expensive and when I went inside to look for the loo the owner was very ‘off’ the place needs a good scrub down. Glad we weren’t eating there after I’d seen the toilet hygiene
