Amazing Saturday at The Castle, Tooting, celebrating two 40th birthdays! Jo was a pleasure to deal with over email when we were reserving our areas and made everything really easy. Unlike a lot of places, they didnt want a huge minimum spend for our booking (we just paid a reasonable, refundable deposit) so we were grateful for this and we easily exceeded the sorts of minimum spend that other places would have required (several times over) - which goes to show that being a tad more customer friendly will usually pay off! The food and drinks were good and the spacious pub and huge outside areas were great for mingling in mixed weather. We love the pub and will definitely be back/ will reccomend to others. Thanks a lot!

Never do the quiz there. place is too big the winner will always come from the back where you can easily cheat. you either cheat too or are only playing for a spot prize. price for the size of food you get is ridiculous and the drinks are competing with mayfair for price. will avoid the castle like the plague

Popped by for the first time to this place earlier today, and won’t be our last visit. Lovely pub, Dan recommended both food and drinks for us, all which was fab, and went above and beyond for us all night. Highly recommend a visit here!

Honestly couldn’t recommend this pub more, from outside doesn’t look like much but as soon as you enter what a beautiful place. I was served by a blonde girl called lucy she was so friendly and helpful, thank you again . Im now going to call this my local happily

Working away from home, used this pub twice great Atmosphere, but the food and service are not great,had cold fish and chips, and waited nearly 50 minutes for a steak, it wasn’t even busy shocking service.

Tried to get a drink in here. The staff have no idea who is next to be served. Serving people who came in after us. No acknowledgment from anyone. All looked miserable and looked like they didnt want to be there. The pub wasn’t even that busy. Definitely need to look into staff training. Ended up walking out

Unbelievably slow!! The order was mixed up, we had to wait 30 minutes for a dessert!

Standard Youngs pub but categorically the worst burger I’ve had in a pub to date. And waited 40 minutes for it to arrive too.

This place has a great vibe and I would recommend it for sure. The only downside side was the food at the burger shack was very average and overpriced for what you got. Drinks were great though.

Went to tooting to visit market found this pub on the high street sunny day amazing beer garden end up staying all after noon

Delicious food, could tell chefs took pride in this. Staff very warm & accommodating and served us promptly. Atmosphere lovely; particularly enjoyed pub garden.

What a great pub down in Tooting Broadway. The dairy cow burger hit the spot! was not expecting it to be as good as it was. The interiors is also slightly more upmarket than your average pub - such a good atmosphere, with a great beer garden in the back on the sunnier days.

Only visited for a short while but really enjoyed people watching in the beer garden!

We came to have dinner as a family, the service was very good! Katrina was our waitress and was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back again.

Unexpectedly really nice. The pictures of peoples food on the reviews doesn’t do it justice. I had the meat burger and it was so juicy! I would come back again. I also got the sticky toffee and banana pudding for desert.

Very pleasantly surprised at what a lovely place this is! Was going to the Bake Off experience (adjoined) and booked to have lunch at The Castle. We were greeted by friendly staff, enjoyed some lovely food, an excellent wine selection and a funky place to sit and enjoy the afternoon! Would very much recommend! Friendly staff make the difference - an often a rarity in London! We will be back!

My wife and I went to The Castle for lunch today. We last visited years ago and were blown away by how much it has changed. Our server, Dan, was awesome: friendly, attentive, and really knows his onions! (And sauces, and cocktails, and Belgian beers...) I had cider-battered haddock with chips and mushy peas, plus tartar and curry sauce, all excellent. Lesley went for the steak, a rump so fat-free we figured it must think it's a sirloin. The peppercorn sauce - literally the best I've had, never mind your Argentine steak houses. Dan obligingly explained the torturous process they go through to produce it, along with mixing us some fantastic cocktails: I can recommend the Godfather in particular. All in all, a brilliant and unexpected afternoon. Many thanks to Dan and the Castle team - we'll be back!

Fantastic pub with great food, friendly staff, fantastic atmosphere and great setup for watching sport.

We stopped by early Sunday for lunch, wanting something other than a roast. Service was very friendly and efficient, personal but not too invasive: Lucy was wonderful. We chose a burger, hake with samphire and sausage and mash for the little one. All very good, with the hake being the stand out dish. Young’s food can sometimes be a bit hit and miss yet costly, but today was great. It was getting pretty busy by the time we left at 1.30, so felt relaxed and happy with our quieter family meal in the sunny dining room.

Mixed reviews on this place It was the Saturday england played We got there just before 7 found a table (not that busy inside) hubby went to bar to order food etc I asked a member of staff if he would wipe the table as it was messy he started to walk off & then turned round and said this table is booked for the football so we would have to move before 8pm he was fairly rude i guess he didn'tlike me askinghim to clean the table(but there was no sign on the table )we waited ages for food & at 7.40 I asked waitress what shud we do as our food hadn't yet arrived she said she would seat us I the restaurant as all the seats were booked fir the football From there on the service & food was excellent We started watching the match but it was so noisy we left at half time

I came with a friend to the castle today and was greeted by a lovely gentleman called Dan he was really inviting and asked us if we needed anything to call him he remembered our names and came to check if our food was ok was very attentive and effiecient ensuring we had everything we needed what a pleasant experience and service thanks Dan 😁

Had a meeting here, large enough for privacy, quiet areas as well as busy atmospheric areas. Dan was lovely , he greeted and served us, food was delicious, tasty and filling, quite reasonably priced. Haven’t been to the Castle for a while. But never disappointed. Thank you Dan, you went above and beyond to ensure our comfort!

Anita truly made my experience at the castle. Her enthusiasm and charisma was out of this world a true 10/10 girl. She deserves everything, what a woman!!!

We sat outside, and a waiter named Dan served myself and my wife. We ordered drinks and food. I can not praise Dan's people skills and customer service enough. He was so professional and engaging. He had no idea that I'm involved in the Events and hospitality industry. I would not hesitate to offer him a job. I think the senior management should not overlook this individual as he could teach the other staff a lesson or two. We had a great time at the castle, fantastic customer service from Dan, but the food was not great in truth.

Took my Dad for some food and we were blown away by the food and the service. Dan took care of us and he couldn’t have been better. Lots of care and great suggestions! We will be back.

We had a fantastic evening celebrating a birthday in one of the garden huts! The garden was exactly what we were hoping for and the whole place had a great atmosphere. The staff were amazing and our server Angus looked after us very well, making sure we always had what we needed. Would highly recommend to anyone, can’t wait to go back!

An oasis on Tooting High Street

Went for Sunday Roast. Great service and have always loved spending time at the Castle. My only criticism would be your choice of serving "puréed vegetables" with the roast dinner. I get it's a time saver for the chefs/service staff in getting the meals out, but the colour of the purée makes it look like, at the best, baby food, and at its worst baby poo (somewhere in the middle would be curry sauce). No complaints on taste, service or anything else - as usual spot on. You just need to rethink that presentation of the veg. I would add, I'm old enough to realise it wasn't those things and still ate it, and wouldn't have thought of sending it back, just needs a rethink is my point.

We had a great experience with Castle for our son’s Holy communion after party. They gave us the entire back room and catered for us fantastically throughout. Special shout out to Chloe who was the perfect host!

The place is spacious, we had Sunday roast the pork was ok, potatoes are super dry and very hard impossible to cut. Out the back you’ll have to catch the waitress for service.

Really nice pub in Tooting. Dog friendly and got all the drinks I like. Big garden at the back. Haven’t tried the food yet but it does look good

What a fabulous pub/restaurant! Great location and loads of tables/space, really lovely very friendly staff, great range of beers and wine and the food was absolutely superb! There were 9 of us and food all arrived at the same time and was piping hot. Recommend the Sunday roasts - our group had 3 different ones and all excellent, fish and chips was amazing - perfectly cooked and the Dairy Cow burgers were fab. Very good value too.

Nice place but ridiculously overprices, we paid £40 for a bottle of wine £8.60 for a single vodka with tonic, the same bottle in the City costs £26, Central London is cheaper than Tooting Broadway 🤔

Well well well, I gave it 5 stars. I would have given it 10 stars if that was an option. Why I hear you ask? The service. Our server (Chloe) made the night. I’m taking fantastic and attentive care, I’m taking overwhelmingly positive vibes. A vibrant and colourful atmosphere. 3 that’s right 3 thumbs up. As you’re probably aware most humans don’t have 3 thumbs, but if they did they would put up all 3 for sweet sweet Chloe. Long live the Queen of the castle.

Visited on a Thursday which turned out to be Scattegories quiz night. Ran by Harvey who is a great host! Good atmosphere.

Had Sunday Roast lamb option, which was good. Shame Fish and Chips was not available. Good meals had by all at our table.

Although the staff were lovely, the waiting times at the bar were ridiculous 🙄 but the staff were so lovely- think that is a hint to Management to staff it a bit better please 🙏🏽 don't over work such a fabulous team 😀 great vibe with the band playing too

How can a pub not have Brandy? A couple of mains were not available along with a couple of deserts.

Lovely pub , food was good but disappointing at the wait for it. Took longer than expected to get it but then the last meal turned up when the others had almost finished their meal meaning I felt rushed to eat.

I had an issue with a food order, but the customer service from Yovela was exceptional and turned a potentially poor experience into a great one. Will definitely come back when I am next in London.

It was my first time at the castle in Tooting and I can honestly say I wasn’t disappointed! We was sat in the orangery. Our server who was Chloe was absolutely amazing. Everything came out quick but with enough time in between! The food was amazing and the drinks were lovely. Will definitely be visiting again !! Thank you
