Drove 40 miles to attend an entertainment event at this friendly club. facilities and staff were excellent. only wish we lived nearer

Popped into Carlton House club for lunch after Thursday market. Can’t believe how tasty and generous the 2 course set meal was, especially for the money! Drinks very reasonable and somewhere warm to be on those cold winter days approaching. Don’t need to be a member to eat there, so pop on in and try it👍

Always good steaks at the Carlton. The food and beer is well priced and nowhere else in town shows sky and has bad games available. Would definitely recommend a membership!

Sunday Takeaway this time and again, a great experience. 3 roast beef meals delivered to the door within 5 mins of expected time. Everything piping hot and loads of it. Beautiful well cooked beef and chunky veg. Tremendous value for money.

Opening up after the lengthy Covid lockdown, I wasn't sure what I would find. Really needn't have worried as lots of thought, action and much effort has been put in to ensure the safety of customers. Full table service for drinks and food is now the norm and the staff seem even more enthusiastic getting away from behind the confines of the bar. Very pleasant experience. We took advantage of the mid day lunch which is value beyond value at 2 courses for under £6. My wife had sausage egg & chips with me going for the mince pie which came with veg and new potatoes. Good platefuls, cooked to perfection and followed by deserts (1 ice cream & 1 apple crumble) making it a welcome break from the problems of the country. Absolutely delicious and an often to be repeated experience.

There's a quiet members bar, a lounge bar, and a lively bar, something for mist peoples preferences. Food is home comforts, reasonable snd tasty

Popped in for a lunchtime meal on Market day. A couple of different menus are available along with a 'special'. I settled for the BBQ ribs, chips @ onion rings with my wife choosing the chilli with Garlic bread. Service was a bit slower than normal but when the plates arrived, wow, the portions were huge and it clearly tasted must have taken time to cook. The ribs were done to a tee, falling off the bone and the chips and onion rings were superb. The huge plate of chilli was very tasty and packed with kidney beans. 3 slices of garlic bread topped off a great flavoursome meal. Add a couple of soft drinks and the cost of £17 was real value for money.

My parents come here every week for Sunday lunch and I can see why - the beef and lamb are cooked to perfection, the roasties are crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle - Richard and Viv are so welcoming too! Drinks are very reasonably costed. Excellent food and great value!

Nearly a 100 people enjoyed the carvery. Our first visit, a great venue. Food was very good despite the numbers needing to be served. Good bar too. Ideal function room.

We visited and had a magnificent meal. The steaks were cooked exactly how we asked and we had a couple of special requirements that they were more than happy to cater for. The food came quickly and was superb. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had a great experience.

Book early to avoid disappointment! Perfect Carvery again!! Best roast dinner in the area by far! Great service, great people!!

As always The Carlton House Club doesn't disappoint when it comes to a Sunday Carvery lunch, the meat was cooked to perfection, I had the Gammon and it was nearly melt in your mouth, same for the lamb that my partner and the 97 year old birthday boy had, being a big age he finds it very difficult to get through a lot of meat, but not here. Excellent value for money, service is very efficient. It's not the first time we have been and certainly, won't be the last. Book in advance because it is VERY popular! Well worth a visit!

We attended a Wedding Reception with about 80 guests. A sit down roast meal was provided which was of a very high standard. A separate bar was open in the function hall at the back of the building for the guests attending the Reception. The staff were very friendly.

This was not a place I intended to visit when driving through Olney, but when I saw that a model railway event was happening yesterday in the building, I decided that it was worth stopping over at this place, me being a train enthusiast of course. Entry to this particular event cost £3. Anyone could come along for the day - you didn't have to be a member of the club , even though in most other circumstances it's 'members only'. The model railway convention was a highly enjoyable event with railway sets in operation showcasing what the modellers can display with working model trains. Sellers were also promoting model trains and books about the railway and the history of British transport in general. Tea, coffee, cakes and filled sandwich rolls were also on sale too. If another event was to take place which I would be interested in, I would go back to The Carlton House Club for sure.

We booked in for Fathers Day for a Roast and so he could watch Football and have a drink outside the house.

We had our wedding here last night and we couldn’t rate this venue high enough for a wedding. Richard and Viv are fantastic and very passionate Managers and went out of their way to make sure we had a fantastic wedding. The main function room is very spacious with a large dance floor and loads of room for tables. The drink and food prices are very reasonable. We had the carvery and had so many comments from our guests saying that it was the best carvery they have had in a long time and probably the best. Richard also ensured that all of our special dietary requirements were met and bought special desserts accordingly.

We held a birthday party here, in the main function room. We had a hot buffet for 80 people, as well as vegetarian lasagne for those had previously ordered. The food was very tasty, made and served by Richard, with plenty to go round. A great venue for weddings, general events etc.

Popped in after Thur Olney Market.

This is a very popular place for locals at lunchtime on Sundays, booking is always advisable. Tables well spaced out, so even when it is busy it doesn't feel crowded.

The summer special consists of a Steak followed with Strawberries & Cream which if two diners take advantage, also includes a bottle of wine. At a price of £20 total, this is value for money if ever there was one.

We have dined in this establishment several times and never had any complaints food was excellent. Following an earlier comment on here we did have to wait a short while for the food, but this is due to the fact it is freshly cooked. The comment about the young bar staff there was a young girl training but that is fine as she was supervised and within the law. On one occasion a fried did not like the meal he ordered (his fault not there's) the staff changed it at no cost. The staff are always polite and friendly. I think the adverse comment was geared to one member of staff and suggest they use a different restaurant. we definitely will return as it is value for money.

We had a wake here also a 90th birthday gathering. Lovely private functions space. I love the lasagna or roast dinners or burgers

Loads of under age children serving behind bar not 18years service not good because it's run by bad management because my meal was served with chips I asked for a baked potato quite happy to pay the difference when potato came I asked for butter and they gave me Marge made me sick . previous I arranged to go with my friend on Sunday but I got called to a office and was told i was not wellcome back for lunch on Sunday who do this management think they are ? Please tell me why this people should continue to be payed for accommodation and treat customers so bad when I was not rude to any employee or staff

Visited at lunchtime today with parents. Nice clean tidy restaurant area. Basic lunchtime menu at reasonable price. On placing our order the meal took a long time to arrive at the table. Prior to the meal being served the table remained cluttered with the plates and redundant meal from the previous visitors, this took a long time to clear. We were not given any cutlery or napkins. The napkins never arrived and the knives and forks arrived after our plates were presented, after having to ask for them. When the food arrived it was very disappointing, myself and my mum had steak which was just ok, no garnish or any peas, just steak, mushrooms, chips and grilled tomato. My dad ordered gammon steak which was unacceptable. The gammon was more like a slice of bacon and was stone cold. On complaining the meal was taken away and then promptly returned, clearly having been microwaved,this made the bacon style slice dry and with a cardboard texture a further complaint was made and the meal returned we asked for a refund for the gammon / bacon meal, which was dealt with promptly and without any confrontation. Despite the issue with the bacon meal, the venue is clean and tidy and in a good location, maybe it was just an off day,but all the same a disappointing visit, we will not be returning.

Good range of tasty food, with generous portions. The steaks in particular are the best for miles around! The menu doesn't change much but there's something for everyone.

Although a private members club, the food served here is exceptional. Whether in the members lounge or at a larger function, you can be sure of fantastic value, great quality and a staff which tries to make your visit a memorable one.
