The Cardamom House in Cheltenham

We had chicken korma and chicken Tikka masala, neither of which tasted like they should. It was edible but not great. My peshwari naan was very dry and had a powderlike substance in it. I had to mix my naan w the korma sauce just to eat it, it was that dry. Rice was Luke warm. Will be ordering again.

Arrived nice and hot tasty dishes without the layer of oil a lot of others places seem to have.

Food was nice portion sizes are a little smaller but quality and taste was nice ordered for at 525 said 50 mins wanted it delivered at 645 so ample time had a message saying now later almost half an hour later than ordered for bit disappointed

Avoid at all costs we went to collect a Indian there was a rat right outside the door and droppings all around the front of the shop I have reported to environmental health!!!!!

I don’t want to be negative but I have to say worst Indian I have ever had. The food was hot on delivery, but chicken was very very dry and everything was completely flavourless, the naan bread was awful completely inedible.

The food could have been a bit warmer.

Alright food and good value for money. However, the food was only warm by the time it got to us.

Always ordered from here as food was always really tasty, been disappointed the last few times consistency has gone down hill a bit which is a shame, oily rice, overcooked naan and stale poppadoms.

Ordered a takeway from here whilst the delivery was quite good unfortunately the food wasn't. The masala was bright red yet tasted of nothing but oil and salt. This was same with the korma and biryani sauce, flavourless and oily. I am sorry but that was very disappointing. You can't find a good indian takeaway in cheltenham these days they all seem to do the same trick of overcoulering the sauce and not including any flavour! Shame.

Never ever again will order from this restaurant. I have placed my order thru just eat. Food arrived about 25min earlier. The driver was absolutely lovely. But the food............Food test it absolutely horrible. Did taste like I would use ready made jar of curry sauce and just add chicken. Wanted to put review for it but they have canceled my order. Even that I have received the order. Never never again.!!!!!!!!

Delicious chicken tikka biryani, best we"ve had from local takeaways, 1st one from Cardamom House. Will definitely use again!

Really lovely people and fantastic food!

Good delivery time, hadn't been here for a while but used to be great. Disappointing low quality this time. Why is the Tikka chicken in the curries so vastly different compared to the regular side Tikka chicken? Really odd texture on curry chicken, crunchy, cheap tasting. pretty bland sauces, chewy naans and old rice. Lamb Tikka had that slight fish taste of old meat. Tired of this area being so hit and miss. Amazes me people call this the best in the area.

Was extremely disappointed after spending £56 here to receive a starter of white fish bites in batter which in fact were cheap fish cakes nothing indian about it,There were two of them at a price of nearly £5. Tasteless curry and very little meat. Will never return

First time ordered at cardamom house, tasty samosas and bhaji, chicken rogan was bhuna sauce with added tomatoes and chicken tikka sagwalla was the same bhuna sauce but with added spinach!, they were tasty and the chicken was soft but there was more sauce than chicken 🐓 delivered on time and hot, free delivery and good prices always a bonus. We would definitely order again but try different dishes next time.

Awesome onion bhajis - naan was good and madras well spiced if a little light on heat and tomato pieces overall a strong 7/10

I have never ordered from The Cardamom House before, glad I did. Food was very tasty (albeit not piping hot, but that was as expected as they are not that close to where I live). Quick service, arrived earlier than expected, order was right (which makes a change from other Indian takeaways I have used, always something missing! And no refunds for loss of food!) Friendly delivery driver too……Well done The Cardamom House, will definitely be ordering from you again. Keep up the good work.

Had to order from this restaurant as my original order from another restaurant was unable to accept ( I am still waiting for a refund as funds were taken )

Delivery was great, but the quality of the food was a bit below par. For me, it was the naan, which was severely undercooked. My wife had an issue with the onion bhajis, they were very doughy, more like a doughnut with onion on the outside. Of course, it wasn’t all bad. We really liked our mains.

The chilli and cheese Naan bread was so delicious! The curries were very good and portion sizes excellent. It would be a nice touch to add something extra like popadoms or a free side, just to make it an outstanding experience.

Food is well presented and generous portion size. However, it is really lacking in flavour. Unfortunately, the curry was very bland.

Nice but should mention on the menu that the Pathia is quite spicy. Sweet and sour makes it sound like it will be mild.

One of my favourite Indian takeaways in Cheltenham.

Food was tasty- the lamb was well done and not chewy. The sauces tasted the heat level that they should be rather than coming up too mild or spicy. Only downside is I never got the salad that was due to come with my mixed grill, but I couldn't be bothered to phone on New Year's Eve about some missing veg!

Not sure if this food came from a satellite kitchen or the real business 🤔. We have ordered from here before and have been happy with the flavour, quality and contents. However, having placed, received and consumed the food we have just ordered, we were all (family of 4) completely underwhelmed. The food lacked flavour, the food lacked quantity (1 prawn in a special Biryani, barely any lamb in the Rogan Josh) the pompodom and pickle starter has no flow or combination of tastes. Prices have increased and we understand this and are willing to accept the increase. However, we spent a lot of money and were not satisfied with quality, taste and quantity. We will give another takeaway a try the next time we decide on an Indian.

Normal have had good curries from here but the latest one was far too watery. The Madras had no heat to it and the lamb was really poor quality. Not sure if this was a one off but it's unlikely I will order again.

The Korma was not creamy enough it was too spicy

Ordered a takeaway from here via Deliveroo tonight. The korma and mushroom pilau were great, but sadly the 1/2 tandoori chicken left a lot to be desired. The masala used for the chicken just didn't taste good at all-v.sweet and just not balanced. It certainly lacked that 'deep' taste and aroma that normally comes from a tandoor-cooked dish. I would possibly order again, but it won't be the same menu choices. Such a shame as I had read all the good reviews and was really looking forward to this meal.

Had an enjoyable meal with these guys. Called up to ask if they could do a lactose free korma and they were very accommodating and happy to help. It turned up hot and well packaged

best in cheltenham,lamb could just be a little bit more tender but i love the cardamon.

We always use Cardamom house. Always delicious, hot and fresh ingredients. We are a vegan and vegetarian family and find the food delicious. Tonight's was the best ever, even better than usual!!

Arrived on time and was hot, but a bit bland compared to other curry houses in Cheltenham. Reminded me of a curry you’d see in the supermarket.
