An Amazing restaurant that I highly recommend to anyone to go there and try out the amazing food.

Hadn’t been to establishment in quite a while found the restaurant to be very clean and welcoming, ordered food at bar as had difficulty joining WiFi so couldn’t use app (only negative) was helped by a young lady (Orla) with collecting cutlery and accompaniments, she was very friendly and happily going about her duties, she later brought our food over and checked in later that we were satisfied and without being obtrusive. She made a point of thanking us and saying goodbye when we left. Over all very happy with visit and quality of food, will definitely not leave it so long again.

Met with a friend for a quick dinner, restaurant was clean, food was good and great value for money. We needed help with the menu at one point and Orla was extremely friendly and helpful - she dealt with our query quickly and efficiently and was an asset to the company.

Service & Atmosphere The staff are friendly. The pub has a welcoming feel, making it a good place for casual dining or a quick drink. Value for Money Prices are reasonable, making it a budget-friendly option for families and groups. Meal deals and promotions add to the appeal. Overall A decent choice for an affordable meal in a laid-back setting. Will be back.

Food is nothing special, the service was better but not all of the waitresses were friendly and nice, just the brunette girl was very nice, the blond girl was very unpleasant and seemed bothered about our presence there

Called here after driving since early and too late to eat at the hotel next door. Served by Colin at the bar and asked about food. Told unfortunately kitchen closed but asked the chef Gav if he could serve me a curry. Happily obliged even though it was well after 9pm. Brilliant service and went out if their way for me

First visit booked table for food..food lovely staff very nice aswell no long waiting times for food..highly recommended will be back

Went here to watch football, good atmosphere.

Really disgusted with the service, left stood waiting for someone to come to seat me as per instructions. Instead they rather not move from being the bar and serve people approaching bar after I had been stood waiting. When I asked when someone might come to seat me I got told she was busy serving people. When I arrived 1 person was being served with nobody waiting . They proceeded to serve another 4 people before I said anything. Not even an apology, I turned and walked out. Obviously my custom was not important. So much for customer service

Waited to long for food and when it arrived it wasn't cooked properly chicken was spongy and a bit pink I thought it was scampi at first chips where cold and chicken wings very pale didn't eat it but by the time it arrived late we didn't have enough time to complain.as.we.would have been.late for our event we r very disappointed with our meal as I don't get to go out very often as am disabled

We have been here a few times over the last few days each time our server was Colin . Help was jolly made us laugh and served us with a smile . He made our visits enjoyable , the other staff members were good to . Food was great each time , today was with my brother and his family as a remembrance meal to on my dad's first anniversary of his death . It was lovely .

We had a lovey family dinner and drinks here for my sons birthday. The food was lovely, reasonably priced and didn't have to wait too long either which was a bonus. You have the option to order at the bar or use the app from your seat. Plenty of parking and a heated outdoor area for the smokers. It also has a play area outdoors to keep the children amused. Just a lovely family friendly atmosphere ☺️

Nice place for a snack and drinks

Thank you to Amy for looking after our table when our family came to have a delicious meal together. We ordered a variety of different meals across the menu and everything tasted amazing. Our drinks were replenished very rapidly and overall we were taken care of a great deal. Huge thank you to all of the friendly team, we will be back!

Looked on line to see opening hours new year's day. Shown as closing 11 pm. Went there for a meal. Had a three coarse meal. Meal was good. Rang last orders at 9 45 not 10 45 as advertised. Told to get out at 10 10. Barman very rude. Was not given chance to finish drinks.if this is Scottish hospitality you can keep it. Glad to be going back to England tomorrow.

Food was fairly decent for what I expected but for a family friendly place, I didn’t find it really was. There’s nowhere indoors for kids to play and we had quite a lengthy wait for food - kids never like this.

Friendly staff, fast delivery on food and drinks, walled park for kids outside, great for while waiting on food. Prices are affordable. Can get busy and loud during events, other than that it's very family friendly.

Quiet for a Saturday morning, food came really quickly & was very reasonably priced. Would come here again!

This was a new experience for me and it did not dissapoint. Jenny took great care of me and was very helpful and attentive. The food was delicious and amazing. I had a number of meetings with clients and the atmosphere was perfect. Very convivial. Thank you I will return.

Very nice very good EDIT POST 13/11 2024 just came with friends and now you have to order at bar, not good also you now have to pay before you get your food now that is very bad ,are they cutting down on staff ,,lost customer after tonight

Decent pub grub at a. decent price

We were just visiting for the weekend and stumbled upon this gem of a pub. The dj was in full flow and the atmosphere was great. Bar staff were friendly too

I was here a few weeks ago for a family birthday. It was great. Back today for breakfast and yet again excellent service, good food and great value.

Had a fantastic experience at Hungry Horse! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great, but the highlight of our visit was the service. Dave was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Highly recommend and will definitely be back

Lovely friendly pub. Was served by a well-mannered lady who helped pick the deal deal of the day. Food was served promptly and hot. Mixed grill, chicken was delicious. Well done all.

It is a place where you can share a talk with family or friends. A calm environment. Acceptable attention from the staff. The food acceptable.

Good green king p.h. meeting my family in this venue, ideally situated for a logistical reason, in Mearns opp premier Inn where we are staying. Excellent atmosphere and good food!! Breakfast to good to miss!!.

Meal was good and at a reasonable price, also didn't have to wait too long for it. Ordered the meal and a pint of King Mango, through the app, for some reason the drink I ordered wasn't in stock and they had never heard of it. Had a nice pint of Neck Oil instead.

Went on a Saturday night for dinner and a few drinks. We were served by Jenny who was very helpful and friendly and the food was served quickly. Lots of great vegetarian options and the nachos are delicious!

Lovely morning here for breakfast. Disappointed there was no butter, orange juice or decaf tea but otherwise it was good. The service from Alexis was first class. She was lovely and couldn’t be more welcoming.

Always nervous about a Hungry Horse, but lovely food and great service. Play area is really nice. Great for a beer garden dinner with the kids.

We visit regularly and to be honest it's always been fine. Nothing enough to rush to review. This time ( a Friday about 4weeks ago) the service we got from Annabel was outstanding. She was super friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She was a star.

Lovely warm welcome and great service from Sandra when we popped in this morning for coffee. Dog friendly in the bar and so my friend's dog, Oscar, was made very welcome too.

Popped in for an impromptu lunch and were met by Annabel and showed us to our table. Ordered drinks and meal from the extensive menu. Also noticed that there is a curry + drink for £7 on Wednesdays so will be back to try that !! Good food, good price and excellent attentive service - thoroughly recommended

Popped in for lunch here on a weekday. Always have special offers each day on food. Food was fine. Standard for this type of place. Stuck with fish and chips and steak pie. Both were nice. Got a couple of sides which were good as well. Got their doughnut special as a dessert which was very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Cheap and cheerful place with a play area for kids outside and dog friendly in certain areas of the pub. Section split off for adults only as used more as a bar I think. TV advertising euros just now. Lots of evening entertainment advertised also.

Annabel served us she was friendly and efficient ,all 6 of us enjoyed our meal and evening out.

Service on 29 may 24 at lunchtime was excellent from the two guys. Breakfast cooked perfectly.

Decent food, does the job. Lovely wee place. Desserts are pretty meh. Lacking any general atmosphere Service was decent also, although i asked for sauce and the lady said “aye just grab it yourself its at the thingy majjigy”?. Right okay then.

Colin was lovely and made us feel welcome.

We had a meal for my dad's 80th and the staff were fantastic. There were 21 of us and the service was brilliant.

So disappointed with this restaurant. We regularly attend but now doubt we'll return. To start with when we tried to order I couldn't get a salad as they didn't have any. Ordered corn instead on the mix it up and it was a waste to dirty the plate. Chicken skewers were tough and as fir the veg on the sizzler I guess they were running out of that as well. Mu mum then asked if she could have the gammon steak sizzler but have the gammon steak on a separate plate as she doesn't eat veg and I was going to take it. Male waiter stated no even though we've done it on numerous occasions. It was either the gammon came on the sizzler or on a plate without the sizzler veg. Won't even mention his table service for drinks. Never again.

Typical chain pub, but with below average food. Staff were nice, helpful and friendly but certainly wouldn't rush these for food again. Really lacking in healthy vegan food.

A great visit with delicious food so would highly recommend. Sandra was our server and could not have been any more pleasant or helpful so a big shout out to Sandra for bringing a little bit of sunshine to our day.

our local but the service is always faultless, staff are always very friendly and efficient. Sandra is someone who knows us well as we have been going for a number of years. Always very busy but always with a smile on her face and very good with our little one.

We ( 6 of a family with two school age children ) came here on a busy Saturday ( one before Mother's Day ) All waiters were very prompt - drinks, meals came within 15-20 minutes. Absolutely enjoyed the time there - children and adults all content with their meals - v well cooked. From entering to leaving, just under two hours - most acceptable

I'm a regular at the capelrig so I'm a bit biased when I give this review. However I have to give a shout out to annabel. She is always there giving great service with a smile. Even in the very busy time slots she will have my pint waiting. She deals with the odd rude customers with ease. Thanks again for your service.

Always good food, at reasonable prices. Occasionally put on offers. Staff always pleasant and place is always clean. Never had any issues. Use on a regular basis.
