1st time visiting Monteiths! Lovely place! We had the Sunday Roast! Veggies were a bit undercooked! But everything else was lovely. Definitely be back!

Excellent place for a relaxed meal - great value and the opportunity to create your own main course is a bit different. Service is friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend Monteiths.

First time dining here. Lovely bistro/restaurant area upstairs, staff very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and portion sizes amazing. Great value for money and far from your usual “pub grub”. Definitely another level and will definitely return again! Thank you team Monty’s!

Had a lovely lunch here today - big crowd and even though restaurant does not to lend itself to 14 sitting together the staff tried and succeeded to make us very welcome, the banter was good with staff and the food was delicious. Will be back, but maybe not soo many at one time. Thank you to all the staff and apologies for not having your names.

Recommended to us ,so booked a table went early had lovely cocktails a seat at the window result it was so relaxing, then upstairs for dinner everything was great ,lovely staff they even kept our seat downstairs where we returned to finish our wine so thank you, we will be back, and its only 1o minutes from E K.

Went in for drinks a lovely place and girl was so nice.But how can you justify charging £9.25 for a glass of wine in a suburb area.Its not if its the Town or the Westend.I have to say I was shocked at the price,its a very ordinary pub with obvious regulars.Even the OP don't charge these prices

Nice bar and restaurant upstairs, not the cheapest lovely log burner in the down stairs bar . First visit for a long time and I'm afraid it's a bit tired looking ,Clarkson not the best for restaurants or bars 😒

1st time in Montieth's and couldn't fault the food, service or pricing. Had a great burrito which was customised to suit my vegetarian diet. The pakora was also delicious.

Monteith's offers a great selection of alcohol free options and vegan menu items which is great if you want to be out and not be bombarded with meat and alcohol. Nice decor and attentive service from the staff.

What a lovely venue. The decor is beautiful, the Menu, fantastic choice everything freshly cooked. Had a lovely table upstairs at the window, great for people watching :) Very pleasant staff serving the tables. We had a reservation booked for 12.30, by the time we left 2 hours later, the place was so busy. I reckon booking would be recommended. Lovely Sunday lunch. Would highly recommend.

Great food and atmosphere every time we go

We dropped in here mid-week. First time here, and we were looking for a light early dinner. We chose upstairs. Various deals were on ..lots of choice. I'd a lovely chicken salad starter; my wife had the buttermilk chicken dippers. Both dishes were delicious! Then for mains, I'd the Katsu Chicken Curry and the boss chose fish and chips. Well, the fish was the tastiest she'd had in a while - so tasty she actually finished it all despite it being a large portion! My dish was perfect too Too full for dessert, we'd a coffee and a tea. We both had soda water and lime. The bill came to just £37 ! Couldn't believe just how good value it was! The food is lovely; the service friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere just spot on Toilets lovely and clean. Well done to all the staff who really make this place stand out

Unfortunately I need to say I got a dark course hair in my chicken milanese. It was in the spaghetti and tomato sauce 🫣. The waiting staff were so nice and offered me another main but I declined. The kitchen is open plan and the chef had gray hair!

Food and services were great. The place was a wee bit on the cold side, but it is January.

I've never experienced watered-down spirits before on such an epic scale Irrespective of what you order - Southern Comfort & Lemonade, Vodka & Coke, etc - they taste disgusting. The draught is horrible sickly and you just end up with a clear icy glass of syrupy muck. How can Southern Comfort ( yellow/ orange in colour end up clear? Or a pink gin& lemonade end up clear? I complained to the young barman who was clueless and it wasn't cheap. Ask him to take a drink to try and guess what it was - he refused so another girl had to redo it which was any better. We had three rounds all watered-down to sugar water then left. If yopu like expensive sugar water with ice then go nuts. Of you actually want a proper drink that you paid for, go across the road to a real pub.

Took my family here for a pre Christmas lunch. Food was beautiful with great service and atmosphere. Very clean and toilets spotless.We will be making regular visits when we come to visit our son and family 😁

Great food in relaxed atmosphere at reasonable prices.

First time eating here & probably picked the worst time to do so (just before Xmas) Absolutely blown away by quality of the food, staff & choice of drinks! I'm a fuss pot but truly can offer no criticism of my experience last night. My king prawn spaghetti was on a par with Ciao's (praise indeed from me) & I wolfed the remnants of my daughter in law's chicken & mac n cheese. Service was speedy & skilled. We'll be back soon & regularly.

The best pub in the Clarkston area by quite a distance. The food is generally of a very good quality, there is a mixed range of drinks and the staff are very attentive. Atmosphere can be a bit muted at times, and I wouldn't recommend this as a place to have a few pints while watching sport, but it is a great place to catch-up with friends or take the family out.

Monteiths is a one of a kind establishment. Ive never met friendlier and attentive staff, the food is delicious and the regular customers are always welcoming. I could not recommend this pub enough and suggest you dont miss out! X

The food was probably the best I have had in a long time. The portions were big and the half portions were like a main size. The atmosphere was good and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I would certainly recommend and will be back. Thank you. Craig

If you like ambience and good food this is one to check out. Restaurant is upstairs and a separate bar downstairs so you can stay on for a drink after dinner. There is a fixed price menu and A La Carte. Both have good choices and are competitively priced. Corn dog starter was different and very tasty. Mini fish and chips was delicious. Service was efficient and friendly. Have used sister restaurant Loks many times and decided to check this out and was not disappointed.

After hearing about a previous bad experience from a member of our party, we thought we would give Monteiths another chance. Unfortunately we had to wait 15minutes and we weren't even given a menu. We left and came across the road to The Overlee. Disappointed and won't be returning

Very nice pub in Clarkston. The food is excellent. The pub is dog friendly, and the quiz on Tuesday night is great fun.

Went with friends for a birthday treat, disappointing, waited 45 mins to be served main course, which set us back on time, we all had the chicken with haggis, dry potatoes over cooked veg, not enough gravy. Gets good reviews but I'm afraid we felt it didn't come up to the reviews . 😕

Went there for a date night last night and the food, service and drinks were fantastic. We had tempura prawns and chicken tenders to start then chicken burger and macaroni for mains. The food was so delicious and so fresh. The cocktails were fab and the service fantastic. We will definitely be back there.

Great wee pub, good pint of Lager.

My sister invited me, as she had an Itison deal. I had never been before, but it was well worth the visit. The staff were lovely and the food was amazing. I couldn't finish my chicken tenders starter but my sister had no problem finishing her mushroom starter. The mac and cheese was lovely and my sister said the chicken linguini was great, so well worth a visit.

I had not been in Monteiths before which is strange as we live locally but I will definitely be back. We went for lunch with friends and really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere but even more so the great food served with a friendly smile ☺ we had a lot to say but there was no hint of being hurried and the coffee was very good as well . Will most certainly be back I want to try a couple more of the things that were on the menu

This was my second visit here and I had really enjoyed the food last time. I had read some recent reviews which were less than positive and I wondered if Monteiths had gone downhill. But it hasn’t. The food was very good, the service was prompt and efficient and the overall ambience was friendly. I had the hot smoked salmon starter - it was excellent - followed by a Cajun chicken burger which was very good.

Excellent, good choices, of food and drinks, happy service from all of the staff. We've been before and shall certainly go back.

Was expecting a lot but was very disappointed. After waiting 30 mins Steak and eggs- very well done steak of poor quality and eggs overdone. Toast and poached eggs - Eggs overdone, very small portion. Drinks overpriced. Sorry to say won't be back as 2nd time we've had a bad experience here.

Dogs - don’t mind that the bar is sometimes more of a kennel than a bar. What I do object to is the bar staff rubbing their hands all over the dogs (face/mouth/eyes) and then going straight back behind the bar to serve drinks/food. It’s absolutely disgusting. At least wash your hands instead of spreading disease to the rest of us.

Top quality beers to choose from very friendly staff and a lovely cosy atmosphere

We visited here recently on a 5pm brunch deal. The choice of food was excellent and the deal included two cocktails. We had the spicy beans with black pudding and two poached eggs and the French toast with crispy bacon. The food was made to order so was piping hot and tasted delicious. The plates were well presented. The other food being served also looked good. The choice of cocktails was good and we chose the mojito and the French martini both of which were well made. The service was excellent. Would certainly recommend a visit here and will definitely return.

Come in myself at 6, no we won't serve you food! 20 mins later get off the table at 7. Not the friendliest welcome I've ever had!!!

My friend and I had dinner there, the fish and chips were delicious ,good portions and reasonable priced.I highly recommend

Booked the night before and checked the 50% off coupon would be OK, got a positive on that. Arrived following day and once again checked 50% off coupon was valid to which I got a positive. Had and enjoyed food and asked for bill offering the 50% off coupon which I was then told was not valid as it was valentines day (can I just say at this point there was no indication of this on the menu, in the decor nor in the atmosphere). When I told the person who gave me the bill that we had been told the coupon was OK when we booked and when we arrived she said she would see what she could do. Outcome was we paid £43.92 instead of £25.46 . Moral of this comment is I suppose double double check coupons before buying.

Nice enough establishment - clean, tidy, good selection of drinks and friendly staff. Too many dogs wandering around the bar and in some cases sitting on the seats which I didn't like. I'm uncomfortable around dogs and there were two dogs sitting at opposite tables on the way to the toilets - there should be dedicated dog areas away from doors and access points. I can't imagine how it would be for someone with a dog allergy sitting on a chair without knowing a dog had been sitting there previously.

Really attentive staff and great food

I live locally and have been to Montieth's on more than a few occasions for a drink or for something to eat. Every time I have visited here it has been brilliant and have had no issues. It is 10 times better than The Overlee over the road who seem to have completely lost the plot these days.

Had a lovely brunch, good food and nice atmosphere

Quite impressed with the food here when went for a family gathering in between Christmas and new year (2022). There was 9 of us so they had to put us on the biggest table that they had which was unfortunately placed under the huge tv screen in part of the bar. This meant that half of our table were sat facing this giant TV. I think in an effort not to annoy other regulars there was no offer to turn the TV off. Service could have perhaps been slightly slicker but I think they have usual problems in recruiting staff. One of our party asked for a starter as a main course, which seemed to be a major issue but fortunately was sorted out. Despite all of the above, the food was of a very good standard, with plenty choice and decent value for money in this day and age. If you are in the area, give it a try, just avoid being sat in front of the huge TV!

I have been to Monteiths several times over the last 3 yrs and always had extremely good service and great food. I do normally visit during the day with my elderly dad twice being on xmas eve but was unable to make during the day due to work commitments so booked 5pm for our meal weeks before xmas.We arrived and were seated at a table for 2 at bar area.Both my dad and myself were unable to hear each other due to noise and asked of any other table was available but none were.We could not wait to leave due to noise.If it had not been so close to xmas i would have left.I really dont think this table should be used as a eating table or at least be advised of this table will be allocated to you as you do not feel part of the restaurant due to all other tables being upstairs or at the back of ground floor.We have always been seated in both those areas which are fantastic. I had requested a booth if it was available when I booked.I was so looking forward to catching up with my dad before xmas but was left very disappointed this time.I do think you should be advised if going to be allocated to this table and only used before being seated prior to your meal.i will in future make sure when booking will not be given this table as have no other complaints at all.Love the atmosphere,food & staff.Thank you. Myself and seven of my friends had a fabulous night in Monteiths Clarkston on Friday the 16th On arrival we were given a very warm welcome, directed to our table , given enough time to settle in , order our drinks and go through a menu which was very impressive. As I mentioned, the quality of food , and the standard of service was 5 star.nd value for money Would we recommend Monteiths, of course we do and we look forward to making a return visit very soon. Go on give them a call , you won't be disappointed.

Love it here. Different atmosphere depending on what time you go. Chill during the day and great for a drink or a quiz at night.

The staff are exceptional. Had a cracking dinner on Friday night. Great menu for kids (pre-school section is a brilliant idea) and it's dog friendly. Will definitely be back.

Maybe it's unfashionable, but "dog friendly ' isn't my thing... especially in food establishments and would have affected my going in if I'd realised beforehand. Nonetheless, service was very friendly, food quite good and reasonably priced. Nice small private booths

I visited Monteiths a few days ago and I enjoyed the experience, I particularly liked the layout and the staff where exceptional. The food was good but I found the dessert to be tasty but a bit mean.if I could suggest two balls of ice cream and maybe a small jug of cream would have made my day more satisfying .overall I recommend this gem in Clarkston, good atmosphere lovely staff give it a try I will be back.
