Amazing selection of gluten free beers, with delicious gluten free fish and chips!

Server was excellent and informative. Food was ok. Came quickly. Would go again.

Just had a couple of small plates that were just really bad. The chicken tenders were like big fridge raiders, dry and chewy and the potato skins were gloopy, oily and pretty sure they were microwaved. Not nice.

Attentive and accommodating service for food and drink. A good selection of beer available.

Brew a great range and liked the decor too

Went in for drinks pre meal staff were very nice brought our drinks to our table rather than having to wait at the bar. Went back later and the place was heaving but nothing had changed

It's a very good pub. The food is also nice, but the price is too high for the size you get, so sorry to add this comment. I just couldn't believe £7 plus service on 2.5 chicken strips. It's just not worth it eating out. I am not sure how that can be improved

Decent boozer with a great selection of beers. The food is good too. I had a lovely steak and ale pie and washed it down with a couple of pints of really good stout.

They had run out of quite a few dishes so not much choice, and portion sizes were very small, so poor value. Food was OK, but very few side dishes. Overall disappointed.

A little off the beaten track, this large modern pub is a real find for beer lovers. An extensive range is on offer, many of them brewed in the on site micro brewery. This is run by Vanessa, the brew master (or mistress), a very knowledgeable lady of beers and wine, who will give you a guided tour of her operations. Only had sandwiches and portion of chips, but good and wholesome pub snack. Will go again.

I came for a meal but the best part was the delicious cocktails made by the charming and fabulous Louis and Niko.

The advertised kitchen opening times are not respected. I tried two times in a row, the second time I even booked a table for 9pm. However when I arrived at 8.45pm I was told the kitchen had closed... Apparently they already had enough customers for the day and they thought they didn't care about the ones they had not served yet. This is very disappointing and shameful. After 9 I could not find another restaurant open, and I don't live in Cambridge.

Very disappointed about the food. All the ingredients seems frozen food or can food. On the Miso roasted mushroom & spring vegetable kebab, the vegetables were ok, but the pita was very dry, almost impossible to eat. The Steak & Ale pie was nothing incredible and the gravy felt very bad quality. And the chicken goujons for my kid were extremely oily. Otherwise, they have a large variety of beers and drinks.

What a great pub to watch Rugby upstairs’ on a big screen !!! Great atmosphere and excellent service.

So if you want a bar where you can't find a seat and that serves just the bog standard beers you can get anywhere else in the country then unfortunately this isn't the bar for you. BUT if you want a quiter vibe with comfy window seats or high bar stools and tables, a large selection of craft beers and largers, an option for restaurant eating too, plus sports TV then this is the local for you. Loved our visit to this place, even if it is a little HIDDEN gem.

Busy, was a rugby night, so bar drinks too a while food was good and table service was fast.

Portion varies across the mains. The sausage is a particularly large dish especially considering the price. Burger and pie are on the smaller side. (For me the little pie is enough to get a taste without feeling too guilty…) The pie is crispy outside. Though quite dry inside, the chunks of steak is decent. On the other hand, the gravy is one of the best I’ve had. I usually dislike this greasy brown liquid, but this one is actually not too oily and has a thicker stickiness and tastes good with the pie, the cabbage (yes a lot of cooked veggie instead salad leaves :), and the chips. Chips aren’t the crunchiest but they are not soggy like many other pubs and restaurants nor soaked in oil… almost finished them during conversation. Service is friendly but food is a little slow.

Came here for a business event recently, I was working for the company running the event and had some trouble with communication before arrival but hoped the day would go more smoothly. I was wrong, the room booked was not what was advertised at all, barely fitting in 20 guests. We had to make the guests wait outside in a small garden space while we moved the room around to try and make the most of the space we had. Asked for the ‘premium’ buffet to be served at 12 along with the private bar being manned at this time, food took forever to come out and allergen labels half done and half in the wrong place so I had to work this out to ensure guests with allergies didn’t eat something they shouldn’t. The only vegan option was so over peppered I could barely eat it. The bar wasn’t manned for a single moment of the day, we also had to keep going downstairs to the bar to ask for water refills. We were told the room was private and perfect for a business event, the door was made of glass and right next to the only toilets for the entire pub, it wasn’t sound proof so not only did we keep getting disturb by drunk men coming right up to the door, pulling faces, swearing and being aggressive but we also had a huge amount of noise disturbance the entire afternoon from the pub downstairs. The entire day was ruined and we had to keep making adjustments to the itinerary to try and make the most of what we had. Really not suited for business events whatsoever and very false advertised!

Lovely place really nice and big roast dinner and they were very welcoming of my dog and said we could eat inside with her so in my book that makes them amazing 😊

Friendly service, but at the funny run-down end of King Street. Loud characters, yes, but never felt unsafe or unwelcome. A bit sticky.

Enjoyed an event in the private function room. Food was excellent. Real Ale for real men and a real hangover next day. Great mix of people. Well done .

On 30th September I attended a private function which was rudely interrupted by members within the venue now why I understand that the venue is a pub when booking or attending a private function you don’t expect to be disturbed by the noise and people trying to get in, the food was nice but the fact that the staff at the venue didn’t do anything to move the people on that was being disruptive is very disappointing and I find it disrespectful to the lady that booked the event and I hope something is put in place so no one else who books a private function has to go through the disruptions

Honest, friendly and not badly priced.

I went to a private event over the weekend which was sadly rudely interrupted by other people. The hosts were having to almost shout over the Umpa Lumpas in fancy dress who were cheering and trying to gain access to the event. The staff did not do anything to help the event organisers move on the people. A lot of the inner work which was hosted by the hosts, was ruined as it’s hard to meditate whilst hearing people scream and try to gain entry. The venue was not supposed to be open to the public whilst the event was on! Do not book this place for a private function unless you're happy to be interrupted by drunk people all the time. It’s heartbreaking when you spend ages creating the perfect event and when you pay alot of money to have a nice atmosphere and it was totally ruined.

Fully aware that the venue is a pub however when you hire a private function room, you do not expect to be sworn at and have people be able to shout into your 'private function room' all day. Its so sad that staff can not take accountability of where they have missold the event. Private should mean no ACCESS to those not attending instead we had constant distruption from other guests in the venue.

Not really someone who goes out of our way to leave reviews, but certainly wouldn't want anyone else to hire the venue in the hope of a private function, to be interrupted by drunk men shouting and swearing all day.

The food was fine, the experience of the staff and combination of the function room was terrible. Unless you are a uni student, i certainly would not consider your business meetings/ events. We spent most of the day being sworn at, and receiving challenges from rowdy men. The staff were told and very unapologetic... The function room was sold as a private room which is definitely not what it is. There was nothing private about the staff.

Awful venue- please do not fall victim to poor marketing and host your environments here.

This place is just amazing. I was here for so many times and I enjoyed it any of them. The beer is amazing and the food it's delicious. I'd love to know about how to meet the brewer and perhaps learn more about the beer making process. So perhaps that's the next step in knowing this place.

Absolutely loved my lunch visit at this Brew House! It was my first time visiting Cambridge and we went on a beer tour of some local brewers... out of all the places we visited, this was the friendliest! I'll grant you, it was location 3 on our tour so we had a few drinks in us by this point, BUT this was the lunch stop. I had a fantastic burger and tasted 4 of their beers whose names I cannot recall, but were all unique and very drinkable! I'll have to visit again soon and take closer notice of the names of the beers I prefer😁 Anyway, I recommend visiting The Cambridge Brew House for the experience, and go for lunch, the food was really good.

The steak and ale pie was rather splendid. Let down slightly by beer choice - if you don't have it, take it off the board!

Had a wonderful experience here! The bar staff were lovely! Met someone who worked here who was off shift Tom and they were one of the most genuine people I have met I will be coming back!!

Nice pub but a little bit slow service.

The smell alone is enough to draw you in to this micro-brew themed and wonderfully local public house.

Great atmosphere for watching sport and for drinks, my main course was ok.

This pub has gone downhill badly. I was dripped on by a leaky pipe while waiting at the bar and the whole place smelled of puke. The jobs-worth staff refused to give us some change for the table football. We couldn’t get out of there quick enough and left before finishing our drinks. We will not be returning.

Absolute 💯 credit to the staff, they were so attentive and they were so busy. We had a fab evening, bit of a wait, but didn't detract from the fab evening and very good food. Would recommend 👌

Love the beer (they brew their own), food is generally decent, staff are excellent. Always smells of burnt cooking oil or occasionally a blocked toilet. Otherwise would be 5 stars.

Excellent service. Wing's were fab except the missus did have one that was a bit under cooked. Waiter took off the bill so all good. Waiter very knowledgeable.

Visited today to watch a football game. It's a nice place and provides good service and food. Problems included warm, not hot food, bad smell due to leakage (which was stated clearly upon arrival but honestly shouldn't have been open), relatively slow service and an out-of-date till system that provided false promising discounts for students. Otherwise friendly service and decent food.

All the windows are closed during the place is completely crowded. Inside the pub it smells really disgusting. If you want to breath a bit you need to visit the toilet rooms. The food is good

Dreadful! I researched for a traditional pub to take my friends visiting from US. I wanted a traditional pub with traditional British menu. Sadly they had changed the menu the day before and all food was basically frozen food fried to order. Not all the pies were available as “it was what they got in”. My Main of chicken kebab was processed chicken covered in a spicy jar sauce. The bread it came with was from a packet and even then not fresh. How disappointing as we have finally been able to go out to enjoy food and this was so very disappointing.

My daughter booked a table for mother's Day early evening for three of us. When we arrived we noticed an unusual smell which smelt like a farm, this was not pleasant. I ordered a Gin and tonic but then I was told they had no tonic water. We then tried to order from the menu but almost everything on the menu was not available, we then ended up just settling for a Sunday roast which was Luke warm and I felt the meal was just warmed up, it was nothing special and very disappointing. While we sat wait for are meal to arrive another couple came in to order food and was told they could only order Sunday roast, they left without ordering which is what we should have done rather than having a very a average and Luke warm, make do meal. I would not recommend this place if you would like a nice meal.

Nice little pub and a cute barman!!

Good range of beers and drinks, but the bar had an odd smell. There were two stag trips, along with football fans watching TV, making the bar loud. Overall a good bar for groups and sport fans.

Fish & chips were great. Service was okay. Not expensive and lots of draft beers :-)

Sunday roast was delicious and generous. Huge Yorkshire puds and gorgeous cauliflower cheese. The staff were brilliant. A warm welcome and fantastic service.

Nice atmosphere but very expensive drinks

My daughter's burger was forgotten from our food order. They then brought and took away a vegan burger before bringing and taking away a burger without pickles. They got her order right on the fourth attempt half an hour late. They also brought the wrong pies to myself and a friend and we needed to wait half an our for our steak and ale pies. However, the pies also came packed with a generous helping of celery, swede and carrots. When I order a steak and ale pie I don't think 'yum celery'. The waiter did take the meals off our bill but there are much better places to eat in Cambridge.

It was a Sunday night and it was quiet in there except for a private party upstairs. The staff were pleasant and the cider tasty so all good

Went tonight for my friend's hen party. They were so attentive and so friendly..even gave us a bottle of wine for free for the bride-to-be!

Cracking pub this. Great beer, staff and food and always has the big sport on. Can't fault it.

Watched the Six Nations Rugby match here. England vs Ireland. What an atmosphere. Loved the place.

Been here many times and has always been a nice place to have a meal and a few beers. Last visit was slightly disappointing in terms of food but there was a huge table of people in so will let them off. The kitchen did shut before we managed to get dessert which was a little annoying.

The menu is great and progressive in that it provides a lot of gluten ingredient free and plant based options, but there was heavy contamination in my dish (the cheesecake) as after I finished I almost immediately suffered a coeliac reaction. I’m addition to this my partner ordered the half roast chicken and it was served completely frozen in the middle of both parts of chicken. Despite this the staff were lovely and fixed the roast problem quickly and offered a 20% discount. Lovely service but the food needs better care.

Welcome back to R&H's crazy food reviews, This time we are Brewing a storm for a Valentine's special with our special guest J at the Cambridge Brew House. The ordering process was quite straightforward through the City Club app that gave a 15% student discount. Food and drinks arrived quite quickly after and tasted great - the drinks were solid draughts. However the sauces we asked for never arrived and the app stopped working when ordering deserts, leaving bitter taste in what should have been sweet. The prices were a bit expensive for the portion sizes but this blow was eased by the 15% discount. Overall, a good eating experience but the service could have been better. Seemed very hectic on a Saturday night, bar staff run off of their backsides. Mediocre Mac&Cheese.

The pubs got a lot to it. Popular and in a decent location, bar staff were super friendly. Food was average, prices are reasonable. The toilets had some damage to them.

Booked in to watch football and eat lunch at the same time whilst on a weekend break, and it couldn't have been better. Huge screen upstairs with tables in front, and the burger was lovely too. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Food was incredible, I had Fish and Chips, a Friend had the Vegan Burger and another Friend had the Beef Roast, everything tasted really good. Service was a tad slow but really friendly, especially the huge guy with the awesome bear made my day. Only downside were the toilets, didnt have paper or locks on the door. Other than that really good dining experience, the Music was awesome too!

Excellent value for money. This pub brews its own beer and offers some great hot meals to boot. The beef roast dinner was very solid, whereas the sausage and mash was a definite reason to come back. Stellar mashed potato
