Empezaré diciendo que este fue un intento aventurero de algo diferente y que no estábamos familiarizados con la cocina nigeriana de antemano. Así que no estoy seguro de si lo que experimentamos fue auténtico o no, pero ciertamente puedo decir que no fue agradable. Probamos algunos platos africanos, incluyendo Crain Crain, Okra y sopa de aceite de cacahuete y todos eran increíblemente aceitosos y tenían un sabor horrible, creo que los fhjs vinieron de la 'salsa de palma pil' todos los platos fueron descritos como servidos. El servicio era bastante lento y un bjt hit o miss pero principalmente miss. la lager tampoco era genial y una marca que no conocía (el Roma creo) que a £ 7 una pinta era muy caro por la calidad. Puede ser genial para algunas personas si se trata de una auténtica cocina nigeriana. Pero realmente no era para nosotros; tuvimos que parar en otro lugar en el camino a casa para obtener algo para quitar el sabor insípido!

The worst restaurant I have ever been to. Please avoid. A family run restaurant with no waiter to start with. Sixteen of us arrived to dine on a Sunday night. We had preordered our food in advance. We arrived to an empty restaurant with no waiter to to show us to our seats. A ten year old child was sent to take our order along with the alcoholic drinks. We were not offered any cutlery to use or glasses to drink from. The drinks did not arrive. Water came in small bottles with no glasses to drink them. We sat at the table waiting for the starters which took almost an hour to come, eventually only two of the starters arrived cold. We had to skip the starters for the rest of the group and went straight to our main courses. Still the main courses took almost two hours to come out. Some of us got our main courses, some had to skip their food while some of us had to wait a little longer while still dealing with the 10 year old waiter. The owner walked past a few times but did not say anything to us and neither did he maintain any eye contact. He stood at the bar manning the cash register the entire time, whilst leaving a 10 year old to bear the brunt of a bad service. We saw two other diners walked straight out after waiting for almost an hour. The wife was in the kitchen prepping the food, the husband was standing at the bar the entire time while the 10 year old daughter was taking orders and clearing the tables. Appalling customer service and the worst food you could ever imagine. The most horrid experience of my entire vacation. Absolutely avoid this restaurant and don’t be lure by their Groupon offer

Absolutely avoid this restaurant!!!! Ordered stew and rice via Uber eats. £15 for a portion and you get 3 pieces of cold meat. Rice was old and not fresh. The taste was bland. Tried to rectify this problem by calling the restaurant and they were rude and unprofessional. No understanding, professionalism or attempts to offer any gesture of goodwill. The pictures on the menu offer false advertisement and needs to be investigated further.

We were excited to visit Calabash restaurant on 19 March 2023 and drove over an hour from Brentwood to Greenwich to try their food. Unfortunately it turned out to be a really disappointing experience and we would not recommend this restaurant. I visited Calabash restaurant with my mother and three children and we were warmly welcomed by who I assumed was the restaurant owner but his countenance changed as soon as he realised we had a Groupon voucher. It was then that we were turned away from the restaurant despite having a 3pm reservation, which I booked three weeks ago because my mother was visiting from the USA and I wanted to treat her to an African restaurant on Mother's Day. However, we were discriminated against because we had a Groupon voucher. I made the reservation at the end of February and spoke on the phone to a man who made the booking. At no point during this booking was I told that I would not be able to use Groupon until 6pm. Yet, we were told on Sunday 19 March that the restaurant did not accept Groupon vouchers until 6pm, though it was not mentioned anywhere on Groupon, on the restaurant website or on social media, and it definitely was not mentioned when I phoned the restaurant to make the reservation. Secondly, I explained that we had travelled from far and had nowhere to hang around for three hours until 6pm. We couldn't drive another one hour home and an hour back to the restaurant, and there was limited parking in the vicinity, with most roads being resident permit only before 6pm and a maximum of two hours of paid non-resident parking. The restaurant made no attempts to accommodate us and claimed there was no space for us to sit, and that the downstairs area was full, yet immediately after we left, another customer who was dining there later told me that there was indeed empty tables/chairs in the downstairs area as the restaurant had allowed another family through after denying us. It was clear to me that the restaurant could have chosen to be helpful yet they chose not to. The male restaurant owner was brash and dismissive of me in front of other customers. He seemed uninterested and unwilling to help and then tried to blame me for not adhering to the restrictions that were in place which was not written anywhere or communicated to us prior. I have never been more humiliated in my life. We had planned a nice afternoon out for Mother's Day, only to be denied and treated so poorly by the restaurant and embarrassed in front of other customers. I strongly believe that it is wrong to discriminate against customers based on their payment method and I left Calabash restaurant feeling disrespected and devalued. No customer should ever have to feel this way. This experience has certainly soured my view of the restaurant and we will not be returning there in the future nor will we be recommending anyone we know to visit.

I ordered choffy, jellof rice and roast beef off of Uber eats, I was really looking forward to the food because I love Ghanaian food and to find one in my area, the rice I received was stale and burnt as if they use the metal spoon and scraped as much rice from the bottom of the pot , the roast beef is nothing like the picture the beef doesn’t look roasted the beef is boiled the choffy was ok, people don’t spend money to receive food that isn’t good, I should of known not to buy from here when I was 3* on Uber, it’s as if they don’t put effort to those ordering online, it’s actually the worst food I’ve ever received online Online the beef mentioned it’s on skewers the picture says it served with salad Well at least my dog enjoyed it.

As we were having a look at the menu outside, this lovely gentlemen pointed out the great vegan options and we were sold. The jollof rice, the black beans and plantains were so delicious - will definitely be back. Cant recommend more highly!

The chef and owner was so warm and hospitable it was a pleasure to meet him and the food was delicious also, we will be coming back! He was very accommodating and even gave us things to try while we waited for our mains. We don't live in the area, and came to ice skate near by but overall, this meal was what made our visit really special :)

I went to for dinner on the 24th October with my girlfriend and had seasoned grilled fish with 2 sides and we were presented with 2 huge fishes with our 2 sides that were incredibly tasty, which was good value for money. They have 2 floors and and the location was hugely cosy and comfortable with good music in the background. I would recommend as the food was tasty and they have only opened this year.

Tables are very close together and unfortunately I heard more of the conversation of the table beside me than my partners! Service was very good. Pricey for what you get foodwise.

Being gluten-free on a trip to London was hard, the tantalizing bakeries around every corner just looked and smelled so good. I stumbled upon Ruby by accident while meandering through the food area of Greenwich looking for something to eat, which I usually can't in food markets because of the gluten situation. Finding Ruby was a real treat for me. Not only are there many gluten-free options (most bakeries just have one if any) they were the best I've ever eaten. I got a salted caramel chocolate cupcake that I will remember for the rest of my life. The fact that it was all plant-based is pretty mind-blowing too, because the frosting was divine. I also got a piece of lemon/elderberry poppy seed cake which was insanely good. I also got a mushroom quiche to go for a quick snack which I ate a few hours later and wish I got more. Thank you Ruby for letting me have something sweet on my trip to London. (I gave the atmosphere 3 stars because there is no bathroom, so it was hard for us to hang out for too long. But I don't really blame them because all the people from the food stalls would use their bathroom.)
