The Cafe Place in Stockport

Can't say this is a place anyone would want to spend time at. Aside from the broken toilets and disregard to cleanliness the staff and pricing are quite peculiar. For example a cup of tea is £2, add a bit more water (in the form of a pot) and they want £4. No extra teabags just double the price for extra water. Not that they were able to get the tea order right or answer why they wanted to charge so much. Given the variety and choice of cafes in Stockport this is really one that can be avoided without any misgivings.

By far the best healthiest breakfast in Stockport Staff are really welcoming I’ll be back great coffee too .

This is the first time I have visited this cafe. Surprisingly you have to go up to the till to order. They have a wide and extensive menu with sandwiches, panninis, jacket potatoes, burgers, other meals and drinks available along with a range of breakfast meals. I ordered the full breakfast with the addition of black pudding. This consisted of a tinned tomato, fried mushrooms average portion, a decent portion of baked beans which were okay, 2 hash browns average, 2 thick and tasty pork sausages, 2 decent rashers of bacon which were tasty, 2 fried eggs slightly overcooked a decent and tasty slice of black pudding, 2 slices of white toast. A decent latte, my son loved his cup of tea and enjoyed his sausage sandwich. Slow service, no apology for the delay, and some rude and noisy customers sitting next to us. Overall a good experience and a decent breakfast. Clean cafe with good social distancing measures.

The Cafe Place, made a welcome change in Stockport - the food and drinks were excellent value for the money. Well worth more visits and why not

Had a lovely snack after the cinema. Tasty food, reasonable prices, friendly and efficient girls and the place was sparkling clean. Will definately go again.

Visited today with my mum. The food was beautiful and very reasonably priced. Very impressed and will definitely visit again!

We were very pleased with the food we ordered as it came quickly and was served with a smile, the menu was good value and we enjoyed our visit, thanks guys!

On our trip to Stockport we called in to The Cafe Place on Princess Street We decided what to order I went to order The lady who served me wasn't really interested She gave me a food order number 14 My wife ordered a Toasted Teacake My daughter and I ordered Paninis The coffee's and hot chocolate arrived The toasted teacake then came The girl who brought it went back for the serviette and cutlery After a while our Paninis arrived I watch the lady go around the counter so obviously she was not getting our cutlery I went and got our cutlery The food was excellent However the service was rubbish they were not interested in any of their customers I called here about two years ago and was extremely disappointed then I will not be calling again You need to go on a skills course Disappointed Dickie :-(

I ordered a Jack potato and coffee, they gave me coffee and half an hour later I went to ask about the potato, and they had forgotten! They should be more attentive to orders.

This is definitely the best Cafe in Stockport town centre. Nice and beautiful menu with lots to choose, food ,service and music just love it.will be back soon .

I have tried other places but non of them clean we went last Sunday with my family we had lovely breakfast good cook and clean all over the kitchen and coustomer area we will be back every Sunday

Came here this morning with a friend who told me she knew a place that does a really good breakfast. Well she was right. This place is in Stockport on Princess street and I had a big breakfast. Little bit of a wait as it was cooked fresh but that didn’t bother me at all as I was busy catching up with my friend. The breakfast was really nice, fresh, hot and went down a right treat. The staff who work in this place keep the cafe clean and tidy and very polite. Gonna be coming back here again soon for another breakfast as I really enjoyed it and was a good plateful for the price which you can’t moan about at all. Did the job and filled me right up. Thank you to all the staff there for a bang on breakky :)

I ordered bacon and poached eggs on toast with a latte. It came as 1 thin rasher of bacon, two microwaved poached eggs that were completely dry on three pieces if toast. This was at a cost of £7.15 and a total rip off. I dont normally leave reviews but this was by far the worst in value for money. Ask for the price before ordering as you may be shocked by what you get.

I have been many places but this one is always nice and clean always fast and hot and fresh food top quality.

The place has a massive interesting menu and the staff are really nice and helpful. The place looks clean and tidy. It is always quite busy when passing so thought would give it a try. I felt that it would be of been a place with pots of tea but it was more like a mug of tea. I didn’t try the food but people looked like they were enjoying it. I would try this place again as it looks great in the Summer with tables outside.

I called at The Cafe Place for a change I ordered a Big English Breakfast and a Coffee Consisting of Two eggs Two Sausages Two rashers of Bacon Two Hashbrowns Tomatos baked Beans in a pot Two toast The Breakfast was like it had all (except the eggs and toast) been pre cooked and heated up Not good I had to ask for my coffee The lady replied have you ordered one Why should I ask if I had not order one When it came it was nice and hot While I was eating my meal a member of staff was brushing up It does have outside seating Inner seating with heaters on all four tables Then seating in the main Cafe

My best mate brought me to this place yesterday and treated me to a late lunch after all the shopping we did. The place is well kept clean and tidy. All tables where kept clean and wiped clean. We both had the full monty breakfast and a latte. Very reasonable price for it as well. So no complaints from me at all. The services was very fast so there no waiting around. The breakfast it self was just actually dead tasty and very nice indeed and hot. Will be coming back to The Cafe Place in the future. One last thing I wanna mention is that all the staff are all very welcoming into the cafe and all full on smiles and very polite. Would be telling all my mates about this place and will be returning very soons myself next time I am in Stockport shopping :)

With couple of my friends we went to the cafe place to have a breakfast. Food was delicious and staff was very polite and fresh . We def will go back and highly recommend it .......

This is a great cafe for a good choice of food and drinks, value for money spotless friendly staff, a must cafe to visit next time you are in Stockport.

First time visit to the cafe place although been meaning to go for breakfast there for a while,should of gone a lot sooner because the breakfast was delicious. Fast,friendly and down to earth staff. Cant wait to eat here again. Thankyou.

Came here for a bite to eat at lunch. Great food, fast service and friendly staff. Would deffo come back, and would eat here rather than the well known chains for some lunch. 2 paninis, chips, tango and a cup of tea £11. Brill

Just popped in for a quick cuppa and were pleasantly surprised. There are a number of coffee shops in the high St but this one caught our eye.It was very busy but we got seated fairly quickly. Orders are taken at the counter and a table number allocated.There is a good selection of snacks to go along with your hot or cold drink.Overall, nice place, nice staff, nice coffee.We will definitely return.

Seen this place and not used it because I thought it would be expensive and being a tight git I went to Debenhams and got ripped offI went today and I'm now really p*%#& off because I'm going to be away on my Narrowboat for a year now and won't be around to use this wonderful little cafe for a full year. I can't see them closing though so I'll be able to eat here again. When we decided to give it a go I said I'll go in to see if smelt good and if it was warm. It smelt great and, novelty of novelties, it was warm. I'm sick to death of going to eat while out shopping and having to eat with my coat on. It strikes me that the owners of this Cafe feel the same as I doThe food was very tasty and HOT! Another novelty, hot food in a cafe.The prices did shock me though, I had a hot Cajun Chicken sandwich with a properly washed fresh salad (another gripe of mine, I Hate the unwashed, dry limp excuse for salad that most places give you) I also had a side order of chips for me and her to share. The mother of my children (otherwise known as her indoors, amongst other things) had a different chicken sandwich (don’t know what it was cos I didn’t eat it) and she said it was fantastic, hmm never calls me that! I had tap water (don’t forget, I’m a tight git) and her indoors had teaNow to the price…. 12 quid, bloody hell! 12 quid, is that all. Let me tell you, If I think it’s cheap then it is. I mean, 12 quid, come on, her indoors couldn’t make it at home for that.(no point me trying to make it cos I don’t know where she keeps the cooker)Then her indoors said I wanted a piece of cake, I said ‘do I’ she said she’s having one and she wasn’t letting me have any of hers, so, yes I did want cake. So we had a piece of cake each, it was bloody lovely. Now you know when you go to normal cafe and you get cake, you’ll be expected to fork out around £2.50 to £3.95 and sometimes even more. Well this cake cost us £1.90 per slice. I said it’ll be very small so she’s probably right for us both to have a piece, big mistake. We couldn’t finish the cake and even though we didn’t eat it all we still broke the diet for the day and it came with 2 blobs of cream each :-)

Popped in here a few times while out shopping in town mainly just for drinks. The regular coffee is fresh, well priced and most importantly hot unlike many larger chains that serve their drinks lukewarm. I've previously sampled the excellent breakfast but this time opted for a Mexican Burger served with a fresh side-salad. The burger itself was OK, though not homemade, but the salsa, jalapenos and onion rings really hit the spot. I also ordered a side dish of fries to share with my better half who had opted for a mushroom omelette. The omelette looked freshly made and was well cooked with no sloppy bits of egg floating around. All in all we enjoyed our brunch and for £14 I considered it to be good value. The Cafe Place is excellently located to take advantage of the additional footfall created by the Red Rock development and it deserves to do so. The premises are very clean and well looked after and the service is friendly and efficient.

Had the big full English breakfast there today, and it was fantastic. Bacon cooked just right. Not over done or been left too long its hard as nails. Nice egg's. Just done the way I asked. Beans cooked just right. Not like they been there for hours and hash brown cooked just right. Friendly service. And very clean places. Best full English I've had in years. Definitely go there again and other things on the menu

My sister and I stopped by for late breakfast, as we had been a month earlier and were impressed. There was a special offer on for the full English breakfast with tea for £4.99, I was ordering the vegetarian breakfast - no egg - for my sister, so asked if that was also at the special offer price, and was told yes. When it arrived, it was the full English breakfast. The guy was quite abrupt - no apology, but he insisted over and over again that this was what I ordered, even though I said I would never order that for a vegetarian! He reluctanctly agreed to bring the vegetarian breakfast - no egg please - which came with scrambled eggs (!). Unfortunately this experience has made us feel that we will not be returning.

This is one of the better cafes in the area of the new Redrock development and deserves to do well. It is bright and clean and they serve a wide range of meals at sensible prices. Service is good from friendly staff. Really just what the area needed!

I am on a diet . Just went in for coffee saw the English breakfast and bang went the diet !. Well presented breakfast and good quality bacon and sausage . There is a bonus of a sheltered outside area . Great for out of the rain and two more tables in the fresh air for smokers . The staff are good friends and welcoming . Everything served from breakfast ,burgers,sandwiches and gooey cream cakes . And more . Try it .

My son took me here for lunch whilst out shopping had seen it before but not been in its very modern and light with good space, we found a seat and browsed the menu i opted for a hot chicken club sandwich and a cold drink, my son had a hot blt sandwich and a cold juice and his girlfriend ordered a chicken tikka panini with a coffee theres a good choice of food and reasonably priced usually go to the coffee shop across the way but find it expensive.Our food was lovely and fresh and thoroughly enjoyed it i think the bill was £17 which was good value will definitely return.

Popped in for dinner today and regretted not going in previously. Great looking restaurant, great food, and most of all brilliant service at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Ordered the English breakfast. Took forever and the bacon was garbage. Service ok. Mostly attract olde ppl.

I've been there few times and I have ordered a few dishes from their menu.The prices are reasonably low comparing to the quality of the food you get.I had a few different paninis,burgers,Jacket potatos,cold sandwiches and mugs of latte and cuppocino.The salad was fresh all the times and the staffs are caring,making sure you are sorted while you're there.The quantity of food is fine.I even asked for more salad and I've been offered crisps for free.I would suggest this place if you ended up being hungry at stockport centre.

Good food, friendly environment. They ain't overpriced which is a rare thing in that area these days. We couldn't tell that the food wasn't precooked like some other places around. Would definitely try it again.

The presentation of the food looked quite nice but one snack was bland and the other extremely greasy. We chose a chicken panini and a 'steak' with cheese sandwich which had to be eaten with a knife and fork as the cheese was dripping over the bread too much. Not pleasant. Priced at just over £ 13 for 2 drinks/2 sandwiches.

myself and a friend when here to eat on Wednesday of this week and have never been so rudely spoken to in my life and why because the lady I was with was in a wheelchair and I had to move there chairs in order for her to use a table not once were we offered any help with seating in fact the young girl behind the counter though it was very amusing to watch me struggle , once we had got sorted the gentleman an I use the term loosly came from behind the counter stared at us and promptly started to move the chairs about when I ask what was wrong he started saying that I had thrown his chairs about an he wasn't happy about it started to tell him that I didn't an we told to leave as they didn't want our custom in their cafe

This is the place to go for an excellent meal, a great variety of food to choose from, well cooked and presented, the staff are very friendly. Lovely clean place, I have taken my family and friends there who throughly enjoyed their meals.

Saw a good breakfast offer outside. However once we ordered they said the offer finished at dinner(writings conveniently faded) Had a toddler so asked for small portion of sausage and chips. They can't do that. Got beans on toast. Didn't know a price so it was £2.50 for a slice of toast small pot of beans. Breakfast one mushroom one sausage one bacon rasher really felt overpriced. Won't be going again fair better priced cafes in stockport with fair sized portions

During a stressful pre Christmas shopping spree I found this hidden gem! First class service from a professional and friendly staff. Planned to only grab a coffee but with the welcoming atmosphere and comfortable surroundings ended up eating there too :) Great coffee and quality food at a good price! I left completely relaxed and calm and able to continue my Christmas shopping. What an excellent find! - I will definitely return and would highly recommend!
