A wee gem close to where we'd stayed. Had a Yummy brunch without much boasters! Sitting on the perfect corner to give you that traditional corner cafe feel.

As a member of the Cake Club (a small group of cyclists who plan our routes around the best home baking), this cafe is now a firm fixture. The staff were all lovely and couldn't do enough for us (offering to fill up our bottles, then putting them in the freezer until needed) and the baking . . . well, what can I say? All homemade, all mouthwatering, and all other millionaire's shortbread pales into insignificance. Seriously, it'll spoil you for all others. Worth a trip to Musselburgh just for that!

We were looking for a coffee and a snack and could only find restaurants or chain coffee shops. Trip adviser pointed us to The Cafe on the Corner. Lovely cafe; I had a bagel and the coffee was great. There was also a tempting looking display of cake that we didn't have time for :(

This wee place is a gem of a find, slightly tucked away off North Castle Street in Edinburgh but so worth a wee bit of effort to locate.

This little café is delightful with good food and drink. It is also lovely and fresh and clean. The food is excellent and great value for money. All is freshly made and there is lovely homemade soup every day. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. All in all a very enjoyable visit and I will definitely return. It's a little bit off the beaten track as it is the continuation of Thistle Street which has more in the way of shops and pubs but if you continue along, you will find this lovely café. I really liked my Newyorker bagel which is served with a dressed salad and some crisps. That together with a coffee was great value at under £10 for a very generous helping. There are also cakes which have been made by the café and these would be good with tea or coffee in the morning or afternoon. My lunch didn't leave room for any!

This cafe was handy to our accommodation and very reasonably priced for soup, salad and sandwiches. The staff were very friendly. If you don't want a huge sit down lunch, but are after a quick bite to eat, give this place a go!

A wee gem, worth the visit, just located a 5 min walk from George street, so nice situation for relaxing after a hard day shopping or site seeing. Service and food always excellent and what is even more likeable is that they support Autism Initiatives, so helping a worthy charity whilst enjoying their generous portions of freshly prepared sandwiches, paninis etc.

Wandering back to Princes Street from Charlotte Square, we decided to walk Rose Street's reflection, Young/Hill/Thistle Street. Much quieter than Rose Street, being mainly offices rather than shops, but still worth the walk. Especially when you find little hidden gems on your walk, such as this cafe.

This cozy little coffee shop is tucked out of the way, and serves great sandwiches and coffee. I had the New Yorker bagel for lunch and it was very good. The staff was friendly and it was a great value as well. I also like the fact that it supports Autism Ventures.

Went to meet friends and arrived late, sandwiches mostly finished and as veggie they made me up a delicious sandwich with sun-dried toms and goats cheese and mountains of salad and crisps and charged me half price. They also made some lovely gf brownies which I took home for kids. Am often at No. 6 next door for training so shall pop in again!

Wow. Lots of restaurants on Frederick and George visited but this little cafe was the only one who got gf consistently. Great value for dollar. Not huge servings but that is a plus. Too many buffets and restaurants do huge portions.

Social Bite has been taking a lot of acclaim for being a cafe with charitable social aims and so it should. But you've possibly missed Cafe On The Corner on Hill St, just off Castle Street and behind George Street, which like Social Bite has its own social aims and is ran by Autism Initiative, giving support and skills to people on the autism spectrum. So your pennies are going to a good cause other than a corporate chain with dubious business practices.

Cafe on the Corner is hidden away on a narrow street that few shoppers or tourists ever see, but only yards from the busy shops and restaurants of George Street. The menu consists of hot and cold snacks rather than full meals -sandwiches, panninis etc. The staff are always cheerful and helpful. The background music is kept where it belongs - in the background. They're open from 7.30 a.m., handy if you need an early breakfast, but they close mid afternoon. Best of all, they're a Community Enterprise and all their profits go to support people living with Autism. Definitely worth looking for.

This is a lovely place. Nice filled rolls, panninis and baking etc. The coffee`s good too. What I liked was that its a good central location and facility for informal meetings. We could huddle round a table with our notes etc and its well laid out so we didnt feel that people were earwigging! I suppose its fine for just grabbling a snack too, it seems to open quite early- maybe to catch the office crowd or early local breakfasters.
