Not visited Leon's for a long while, it used to be a favourite cafe of ours. We won't be visiting again. Food was very average. We had scampi chips and peas, poor quality scampi, frozen chips and peas. Expected better quality from Leons. (have had better in wetherspoons at a fraction of the cost). Feel a bit cheated wasting our money!

Our first visit to Leon's cafe whilst in Driffield this morning. Just called for coffee and also had peice of delicious Fruit loaf. Coffee, food, service , ambiance all first rate (lovely staff) + Spotless WC 🤗 Will definitely be in again and have lunch next time. Super menu. A real treat to find such a delightful cafe. 10/10 5* Thankyou all. Andrea and Terry Reeves

We visited cafe Léon for my 40th birthday lunch. The staff were all lovely and really went the extra mile by setting the table up nice and providing a balloon. The staff were very attentive. We had afternoon tea, which was nice. The cakes were delicious. However, the sandwiches were very basic they just didn't match up to the standards of afternoon tea elsewhere but I am sure this is something that can easily be worked on. Overall, we had a lovely afternoon.

I have often visited Cafe Leon over the years, whilst visiting friends locally and it has always been good, however not on this occasion! Firstly shocked at the over inflated pricing, unbelievable for a small town cafe! After much deliberation I settled on a toastie priced at £9.20! This was JUST for the toastie and a side salad. When it arrived the salad was overly dripping in dressing, the very small amount of coleslaw consisted mainly on onion and sultanas for some reason and the toastie itself was on very this cheap bread with illuminous orange cheese and what looked liked home cooked ham, which to be fair was the only highlight. My friend’s scrambled egg on toast with extra bacon didn’t look much better! I eat out all over during the summer and pay a lot less for better produce, a very disappointing and expensive experience!

I was disappointed with my experience. The décor and environment were really nice, it has a light, open feel, but the food was overpriced and average. It was standard café food you can get at other places in Driffield which are more affordable. The food was also disappointing, I just expected more, literally, for what I was paying. The staff seemed nice enough, but I didn't see much of them other than when I ordered and when they brought out the food.

This place is in middle of Driffied shopping centre ,had read a previous review about how good wass scones were decided to go in. Didn't realise it was up two fights of stairs ( we are 86 so struggle ) anyway got sat down he place is nice and light and well appointed. My friend had the brunch and i had the couliflower and broccoli cheese bake . Both dishes were fine ( my bake was huge ) But nothing special, sadly they didn't have scones so we had a caramal shortcake bettween us and am so pleased we shared as it was delicious but very rich. The person in charge kindly gave me two plates when I asked her to cut it in half. The one thing I didn't like was sauce and viniger ect was in sachets which was hard to open, even the salt was.

Great cafe always call in when visiting Driffield it is our must place to go for lunch. It’s clean, bright, the foods good and hot, friendly staff and always a warm welcome, what more can you want. We visited on market day, which is Thursday and it was busy but we found a table and did not have long to wait for food. The cafe does only take cash payments so come prepared. It is situated above the post office, so not very obvious but look out for the “A” board on the street and you won’t be disappointed.

The decor of the cafe was lovely and staff were friendly but the quality of the food we ordered was poor. I chose a cheese & pickle sandwich as there was no egg mayo available and my husband chose the chicken mayo. Both was served on average medium sliced bread-would have expected bloomer considering we were paying over £4…..the cheese was tasteless so I may as well have ordered a pickle sandwich…..should have gone to the bakers opposite!

I visited Cafe Leon recently and thought the Cafe to be nicely furnished and decorated, the lady who served me to be pleasant and the food to be nice. But what I don't find acceptable and rather unhygienic, especially during covid, is to be able to help oneself to cutlery and condiments!

From the outside, there is nothing to suggest the size and style of this cafe as it is upstairs. The chandeliers are grand as are the floor tiles and it's pleasant watching the world (of Driffield) go by from a window seat as it's right in the centre of town. Service is good as was the coffee and toasted currant teacake. Relaxed atmosphere.

We would never have found this wonderful place if we had not been pointed here by a local. The good-sized upstairs cafe is almost invisible from the street as it's frontage is only a doorway which leads to the stairs, so it is very easily missed. But once upstairs it is a true delight. Modern furniture and decor give it a clean and spacious feeling. The menu gives a good variety of choices to satisfy most needs. The vegetarian soup and egg sandwich were described as lovely, the panini good-sized and well-filled and the tortellini from the specials board very generous and all food was steaming hot, and served very quickly. The coffee and cakes were also highly acclaimed by members of our party.Definitely somewhere we will go back to.There was a good-sized group not far away from us - I'm guessing a group from work out for lunch - who gave the impression of the place being noisy, but after they left it became a most relaxing and peaceful atmosphere whilst being very far from 'dead'. Very helpful, friendly and 'chatty' staff.

I used to love this cafe and came regularly, however now after changing it is not as good as it used to be. I’m not sure if I came at a bad time, as it was busy, however the service was not excellent. We queued to order for around 10-15 minutes, which considering that it is a small cafe, is a long time. When it came to ordering they did not have what I wanted and were very apologetic and so I ordered an alternative. When our food arrived it wasn’t how I ordered it but I didn’t bother to complain as it was very busy and our food had already taken a while. However the cafe was clean and the staff were very friendly.

We usually eat here when we shop in Driffield and suspected it had changed hands fairly recently after our last visit but after today we can definitely say it has not changed for the better. The first time we visited I had the Cafe Leon special which was unusual but very nice and plentiful. I had it again today and it was not a patch on the one I had the first time round. Not plentiful, very cold and minimal salad it felt like it had been thrown together with no love or care put into the preparation. My wife had the quiche and I asked for everything but it arrived without the coleslaw. There was a “ regular” next to us and his portion of quiche and salad was far bigger than my wife had and he got the coleslaw ( which we only realised was missing when we saw his meal and had nearly finished). It feels like the portions have got smaller and the quality is not what it was. This is a real shame as thought we had found a little gem to have our lunch at and it is disappointing that we feel like we no longer want to go there to eat.

We called into Cafe Leon when we stopped off in Driffield en route to the East Coast for a holiday. We were looking for somewhere that served lunch such as paninis, baked potato etc. We almost missed Cafe Leon as it sits quietly on the high street in its own unassuming way! It has just a door and a small window showing blackboard specials etc. When you open the door, a staircase takes you upstairs and wow! what a surprise when you get up there! very light and spacious, beautiful decor and a friendly greeting. There is a full range of meals to suit everyone and we decided on a tuna melt panini each. It was huge! Served in a full length baton with two open tuna melts and a side salad. Washed it down with lovely latte coffees. There was quite a lot of it left over for both my husband and I as we have never had tuna melts so large but the waitress happily popped the remainder in a take away carton for us to take home and eat later which we did. We called in again on our way home from holiday and this time had the Welsh rarebit supreme which was also wonderful. Great place, great food and great staff.

We were passing through Driffield on our way home from Whitby and decided to stop for coffee. We were lucky to find Cafe Leon, as being on the first floor, there is only a doorway at ground level. However, having gone upstairs, what a lovely, light and airy room, with plenty of space. We were only there for coffee, but wished we'd not had a big breakfast, as the breakfasts being served looked very good and having seen the prices on the menu, very reasonable. Thoroughly recommended and lovely staff too!

Firstly, the important stuff - The FOOD - which is what I really go for - Great home cooking with the prices kept low that it means it can be cheaper to eat out as a couple than make it at home! And with the current supermarket prices rising, it gives me the excuse to have the treat to eat out. Plus I don't have to wash up - I don't have a dishwasher.

I had salmon salad and was informed it came out of a tin which was ok but the amount was very small and the salad was very sparse too, although you did get bread and butter, it would of been better to make the salad bigger and not give any bread and butter. We eat out on a regular basis and this must of been the smallest salad I have ever seen, and very poor value for money, if I return I will try something else.

Everything was spotlessly clean and well presented, and even though it was after 3pm when we visited, there was none of the "piling chairs on tables because we want to go home" approach which I've seen in less welcoming cafes in town. Have been here on several occasions, usually for a morning coffee and scone. The cherry scones are delicious and almost too big to eat in one sitting. Friendly staff, very clean cafe with superb facilities and a wide range of meals, from snacks to full lunches.

We have been here on 2 occasions and both times the food was delicious and hot and cooked to perfection. The service is quick as well. It is a very popular place and I can see why. There is quite a good menu and also a specials board to chose from as well.

Place has a real buzz, always very busy - at least when I've been. Could possibly rearrange the ordering system in the busy periods. Can see right into the kitchen area, which is good. Excellent selection of food.

Met a friend for lunch at Christmas, and found the Cafe Leon really quaint and everything you could want from a central town cafe. Food was lovely, I had quiche, chips and salad, the coleslaw side was scrummy! We both had tea, and were very tempted by the cakes - all in all the menu and selection was really varied and appetizing. The staff were friendly and accommodating with big smiles and a kind word. Will definitely return in the future.

Went here today and a bit disappointed. I order cheese on toast and my partner a cheese toastie. When the food came it was almost cold and neither meal has any cheese in it.....? The service was a bit slow and the drinks were ok.. never mind....

Joy is an apt name of the owner as her cafe is a joy to visit. Access to it is via stairs which lead to a well lit, continental style area with tables and chairs nicely spaced out and it is always clean and tidy. The menu caters for a wide range of dishes together with a variety of hot and cold snacks. The specials board is regularly changed. The food is prepared on the premises often using local grown produce. The scones are whoppers and deliciously wholesome and the salads are so tasty. Staff are always welcoming and cheerful so visit this little gem in the heart of Driffield.

Another visit to this lovely local café in the centre of Driffield. The café is always full, has a lovely atmosphere and is sunny and light. Best of all, it serves great food at great prices. My husband and I both ordered food. I chose a jacket potato with prawns which was a generous portion, and came with a side salad. My husband chose a salmon and prawn salad, which was accompanied by new potatoes, coleslaw and included grapes, oranges and peppers within the salad. We had a pot of tea to share to wash it all down. The cost was £15 which was truly a bargain as the portion sizes were substantial. Always a pleasure to eat here and will certainly return - possibly to try the speciality Rarebits!

We dined at The Café Leon last week whilst visiting family in the local area. I was very impressed with the whole experience. Very friendly waitresses and great position overlooking the high street. The mirrors, chandeliers and plants make you feel as though you are abroad. I really enjoyed my English breakfast and my boyfriend loved his steak burger with wedges and salad. We also had a gorgeous dime cake and a raspberry milkshake for dessert. Reasonably priced and I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Driffield.

We are regular visitors to the Café Leon, on a weekly basis, and have consistently received the same high level of service and quality of food. The décor and atmosphere are very welcoming and we are treated as old friends. Presentation is always immaculate and the premises are exceptionally clean. We wholeheartedly recommend the Café Leon as probably the best lunch venue in Driffield.

When we are in the area we always make time to have lunch at Leon's. It is consistently excellent - spotlessly clean, lovely service and delicious food. I have sampled many dishes from their menu over the years, all of which were great and good value. My favourite meal is the bacon quiche and my partners is the steak pie. Bravo Cafe Leon!!

Went for lunch for the first time here on Saturday. I left with the impression that it is one of East Yorkshire’s best-kept secrets! The atmosphere was great and décor lovely. The food was fabulous and excellent value. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Definitely the best Café we have been to for a long time. We will definitely be back very soon!!!

Good food served here and a lot of variety. Its location on the main street, but above street level makes it both convenient and quiet. We found the food good quality and the variety quite wide. The staff are helpful and cheerful. It can sometimes get quite busy around lunchtime, so best to arrive early if you want to be sure of a table.

Stuck a pin in a ( google) map to find a breakfast one hour away from leaving holiday accommodation. What a find. Interesting decor showed off the home made cakes and savouries whilst we waited a few minutes for a table. Breakfast avocado with poached eggs on sourdough bread, sun dried tomatoes, chorizo and pea shoots was divine and substantial. Staff were friendly and obviously enjoyed serving and cooking as much as we enjoyed eating. Make a detour. Worth every mile and every penny.

A gem of a cafe, lovely staff, quality food. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, even making up a takeaway salad box and a sandwich to be collected later. Plus the cafe is dog friendly....

We visited over Easter and loved all the little chocolate eggs hidden around the cafe - kept the kids entertained whilst they waited for their food! Lovely cafe with a great menu. We ordered a range of different food but loved the halloumi burger and cheeseburger especially. It’s great that dogs are allowed in this cafe but as we don’t own a dog, even better that there are two areas - one for dogs and one where dogs aren’t allowed. Service was quick and with a smile, reasonably priced too for restaurant quality food. The only improvement needed is the toilet area - could do with a update!

I don’t often go into bakery shops but we were visiting Driffield today and spotted that there was a small seating area inside at the front of the shop and a larger area further in. We were ready for coffee and a snack The shop is obviously very popular as I had to join the queue but it gave me the opportunity to look at what was on offer. Vastly superior quality to what is available in other chain bakery shops and very well priced. I don’t eat bread but the sandwiches were definitely calling to me!😹
