We're in the visitors centre and went in for a coffee/tea. Not much room, particularly when a queue formed. Good range of drinks but one size only. The main seating area was out in the Craft centre but there were seats in the café itself. 2 staff on but probably could have done with more.

My mother politely asked the young girl serving for 1 bacon and 1 sausage cob and various drinks. When the food arrived there was 1 sausage and 1 egg cob to which we told the staff that this was incorrect. This was changed for us. We then realised, when looking at the receipt, that we had been undercharged so upon leaving my mother went to give the amount of money that we owed for the bacon cob. The girl very rudely jumped down my mother’s throat stating that she should have checked the receipt and it was her fault that she got the order wrong. My mother asked to speak to someone else which another member of staff listened and told her to keep the amount of money owed due to it being their mistake. The young girl serving needs to learn some respect and also remember she is representing a company. Really poor service and not impressed at all. Cobs were not buttered and tasted average.

Well what can I say about this hidden little treasure…. I have been to the cafe on several occasions and have received excellent customer service each time, the staff despite some of them being “teenagers” have always been polite. I was disappointed to see a recent review that were slating these young ladies who are working there as teenagers now days don’t won’t work even if it is only minimum wage! Everyone has to start somewhere. Overall the staff, the service and the food is of good quality, would definitely return.

This place used to be a perfect place to stop for refreshments while visiting the Arts and Crafts Centre but since Covid has suffered with unfriendly and inefficient staff who take ages to serve the customers and then range from completely apathetic to downright rude. No concept of customer service but then I suppose that's what you get for hiring teenagers on presumably minimum wage. We will not be returning and there are far better businesses nearby.

The food is ok but sadly the coffee was not great. The atmosphere has declined over the years as some small businesses around the cafe vacate their premises, I understand this is out of the cafes control but it is a contributing factor to the atmosphere.

It was ok. The cake was tiny (normally a cake would be cut into 10-12 slices, there's are more like 14-16), a bit dry and crumbly. The staff weren't very friendly either. Not worth it imo, go to the visitor centre instead.

Tucked away in the charming arts and crafts center, this little cafe is a nice spot to take a break. With seating options inside the center and outside in the peaceful backyard, it's a relaxing place to enjoy a coffee and pastry. The kind service staff aim to please, though they struggle to keep up with the demands of customers at their small operation. The coffees are nicely brewed and the cake slices are fresh from the bakery. With some extra hands on deck during the busier times, the service could be sped up to better match the calming ambiance. But the cozy location and tasty treats make this a cafe I'll return to when I want to get away from the hustle and bustle.

We were staying at Sherwood Pines campsite so a pleasant walk up to the cafe and we had lunch from the takeaway 5 minute wait for 2 panninis and they were very good nice and hot with crisps and a small portion of mixed salad leaves with a balsamic dressing. As they do breakfast from 0900 we walked up for Sunday breakfast and had the large breakfast with a portion of scrambled egg for our dog (yes we took his bowl he didn't eat off the plate) and black coffee for himself and mocha for me everything lovely and hot. We had lunch there twice more and all I can say is the food is good and the cakes are to die for husband loves scones and had these twice. All the staff were great friendly and helpful even put the cakes in a box so we could take some home with us but a special thanks to Lauren (hope I got that right) who provided menus for us to take back to the campsite.

We waited for a considerable amount of time to place our order, even though the queue was very short. The options were all served with chips, when we asked if we could purchase an item without the chips, for our one year old, we were told this would not be possible and the only option would be to purchase a full meal served in the same box. When I questioned this again they went into the kitchen and came back repeating that all food had to be served as a meal, all in the same container, with chips! We subsequently ordered the full meal before waiting nearly 30 minutes for it to arrive. We asked the person serving us to pass on our feedback, regarding suitable food for children, to which they replied that they agree with us but that there was nothing that could be done. If we had been able to purchase a single food item for our child, then we would have purchased an additional meal but instead I settled with the chips that we had to have as part of his meal, that he would not be eating. Usually we would have also purchase extras on a trip out like this, cake, a coffee etc, but we were so miffed with the service that we only purchased enough to sustain us until we headed home. Clearly the management decisions are very poor and too bureaucratic to allow staff to make the smallest decisions, not enabling them to provide a good standard of customer service. We are regular visitors to the area but will be finding somewhere else to eat in future.

We visited here for lunch during half term. It was very busy and we had to queue for about 10 minutes, not a problem and all at a social distance. We only had to wait about 15 minutes for our food which was great. We had panninis, cheesy chips and a jacket potato. It was reasonably priced for quality and location. Staff were great and again it was all very safe and socially distanced. As we had a dog we sat outside which was fine and there was a dog bowl for her.

Really disappointed. I love this village, and the craft centre. However in most categories, this cafe failed to meet satisfactory. Customer service = less than friendly (the lady who served us). Food = good price but expensive for the lack of taste and poor quality (is it real cheese?). Packaging = TERRIBLE. The cafe is based beside Sherwood Forest. And yet, they have styrofoam packaging, plastic cutlery, plastic bags? Really? An eyesore to see overflowing the top of the outside bin, never mind on benches around the forest! Is it really that difficult to wash the cutlery and plates like you would normally? And if you do offer takeaways, there are SO MANY alternatives to plastic and styrofoam. And why not brown paper bags? Not only better for the environment but more in-line with the other facilities at the centre (Simpley Natural - very eco-friendly). I know there is a pandemic against humanity. But have you thought about the fight against climate change? Get with the times. Will not be returning.

Went with our young daughter and asked before joining the considerable queue for the children’s options. We told they don’t have a kids menu but they could do a small portion of anything on their menu. My husband then queued to be told when he eventually got to order that they were unable to make a tuna toasty with one slice of bread instead of two. He queried why he was told we could order half portions at which point the kitchen was consulted and another member of staff (presumably the manager) came out to inform him that this was, in fact, impossible. They seemed completely oblivious to the unreasonable, ridiculous and contradictory nature of their stance and we had no choice to buy an adult size portion at full cost. The ‘helpful’ advice we were given was that we could save half until later which completely missed the point of the lack of customer care and really quite rude and unhelpful manner of the staff. When you support small business, they need to do better. This would have been somewhere we came regularly however, we will not be coming again!
