Stopped in here for a few drinks and a meal with the mrs while we were staying down the road. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. We both had the salmon which was lovely. Recommended A*. Thanks Zoe & Joe

Visiting from down South, we quickly googled somewhere to eat after a lovely morning in a nearby country park. We chose to check out The Ollerton House, and are so pleased we did. From the moment we stepped into the pub, the barmaid was very friendly and welcoming all the way until we left. Thank you! The food was cooked fresh, presented well, and was delicious, enjoyed all round!

We are local so can't review rooms, but didn't see that they had b&b ? We popped over for food after reading it was family run . We found the staff very friendly and accommodating and food reasonably priced and lovely.

Impromptu call in while driving past. Carvery sandwich with beef gravy and roast potatoes. Service was brilliant, very helpful, and polite. Lovely pint of Guinness. Price was well worth it. Carvery looked gorgeous and £9.50 in the week and £10.50 on Sunday. Great price. 👍 definitely a thumbs up.

A fabulous Sunday carvery today. Visited with my parents and 2 children (1 has special needs). Staff were so friendly and kind. All the meats were tender and tasty, lots of choice of freshly cooked vegetables. Only wish my son would have let us stay for pudding to try one of their homemade deserts, I bet they are delicious. Definately recommend if you are in the area.

Lunch with friends yesterday (Thursday) Staff very friendly and service was good despite there being a busy funeral party that was being catered for. Menu prices very reasonable too and choices are varied. My scampi and chips was delicious. My 2 friends had fish and chips. All portions were a very good size although I don't think the fish was cod or haddock but they were a large size portions and the batter was lovely. Good choice of desserts on a separate chalk board £4 each which I thought was a good price. Mid week carvery available Wed &Fri (I believe). I would visit again

I had read reviews and it was on the way for a trip. Although the staff were really friendly and attentive the ambience and food were not up to spec. The decor was falling off the walls and our table was peeling its lacquer. We had the carvery. The beef was tough but the turkey and pork was fine. The stuffing balls were lovely and the yorkshire pudding fine, as were the roast potatoes and parsnips. The other veg was over cooked to the point of much, the brussels frozen with an after taste. The carrots and cabbage on offer were dire. The gravy was nice. Unfortunately after this experience I will not be visiting there again.

Had a wake here following my mums funeral. Alison the landlady couldn't have been more helpful. Lovely buffet and teas and coffees supplied.

We popped in here on our way out of Center Parcs and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the food. We all had something off the carvery menu which was great value. Friendly service too.

Having visited "Ollerton House", for a funeral, I can honestly say that they did the family proud. There standards were as always perfect. Thank you for being so considerate and helpful with this families event.

Friendly pub with good ales. I didn't try the food but will next time. Ideally located close to Sherwood Pines for a beer after a run on the trails.

Really good and consistently so . Lots of diff veg, fantastic gravy, lots of condiments. Very good value and always well worth our visit.

Although there was a wait, the food was worth it. The daytime session had ended but the friendly staff brought the hunter's chicken and mushroom stroganoff with a lovely smile. I would definitely recommend.

Went for a carvery here a couple of weeks ago for the first time. Was met at the door by the landlady and given a table number, a waitress soon came over and took our drinks and food order and told us when we could go up to the carvery, this is a good idea as they do it a table at a time so no pushing and shoving and getting close to other people. There were 4 meat options and the lady carving the meat certainly didnt skimp on portion sizes. Loads of potatoes and veg choices (only disappointment for me personally was no cauli cheese) Our party of 4 really enjoyed our meals and will certainly be back again and all for under £10

Been here a few times over years with footie clubs after game finished for a drink and food snacks that they supplied for the clubs.. Was always good. Recently though been there without footie for food menu t0here.. The food is nice and tasty. The carvery meat was so tender and moist and you helped yourself to the veggies etc.. The other friends I was with who didnt have carvery but something off the menu and specials board said it was very delicious and it did look very nice on the plates. Good price and very warm welcome with good service and friendly staff.

We visit Ollerton House on a regular basis and love the warm welcome, friendly staff and delicious food. Landlord Des and Landlady Alison always go out of their way to make us feel welcome and a real plus for us is the fact that they cater for coeliacs (requiring gluten free) with GF lager and food choices. Our Sunday lunch on Mother's Day was perfectly cooked with a huge choice of vegetables. We would highly recommend this pub.

We have lived in Ollerton for four years now and have driven past the Ollerton House pub hundreds of times, always reluctant to visit though as it looks a bit like a ‘local pub for local people’. However my wife and I finally ventured in recently during the odd afternoon, it’s been fine but quiet, pretty dead in fact. Let’s start with the good: the service from the afternoon staff was genuinely very friendly, no complaints there at all. In fact it was largely thanks to them that we returned for several afternoon visits over the following few weeks and they were the only reason we would give this place any stars at all. Then the bad… The place is decorated ok, if you live in 1980 and have a penchant for bland, dingy out-dated furniture and decor. The mens toilet smells like it hasn’t seen any bleach since 1980 too. Pungent and grubby. During an afternoon visit we noticed a large sign in the lounge room advertising a quiz night ‘every Thursday at 9pm’. Despite our reservations, my wife and I decided nevertheless to give it a go. Oh dear. We arrived at 8:30 and the room was dead again. Just two OAP couples were sat in there. Then one of the couples left, leaving just the remaining elderly couple and us (and in fact not another soul walked in for the rest of the night). Not to worry, we thought. Clearly not enough punters for a quiz night, we’ll just have a few drinks at least. …until it came to 9:35pm when the OAP couple had left and a man who we presume was the landlord abruptly told us we had to drink up and leave because it wasn’t worth his gas and electric for us to remain! Feeling really awkward, we quickly finished our drinks and left. Sir, if you are reading this, then congratulations; you saved yourself about 50p on your gas and electric bill. However, in being so rude and making us feel so unwelcome you also lost yourself some potential regulars. Stellar business plan. Go you. This could be turned into a decent pub, however it would require a complete re-haul of both decor and ownership. (Plus a good deep-clean in the toilets). Poor.

Used this for the first time & we were quite impressed with carvery, there is a good selection of vegetables & the meat portion is generous. They did run out of pork which wasn't so good for one person in our party. We will return when in the area.

We always thoroughly enjoy our Sunday lunches here, but today was super, super special. New additions absolutely gorgeous. Where else can you get a lovely warm welcome from a super landlady and landlord, and great staff, a choice of 4 different roast meats, Yorkshire pud, stuffing and sauces combined with fresh veg including 3 different styles of potato, cabbage, sprouts, broccoli, peas, sweetcorn, parsnips, carrots and the most delicious gravy imaginable for the perfect Sunday lunch at £9.50 for the full size plate. Smaller servings are available at lower rate.

Lovely, considerate staff. Accommodated our party of 3 dads and 6 kids no problems (they sectioned off part of pub for us and clearly ready when we arrived). Would heartily recommend surf and turf.

My son called in to see if he could book a table and was told due to COVID the closed the kitchen early but there was no problem if we could get there early enough,so we went as a family of seven five adults and two children and were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming landlady and staff we were seated and given menus and told just to order at the bar ,we were told the food would be awhile as everything was cooked fresh .The food was fantastic well worth the wait as it was so good we Returned the next night and once again had fantastic meal and great service if you are in the area call in you won’t be disappointed

Went here twice, the staff were very accommodating to our family of five, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was excellent, homemade, freshly cooked and very tasty, well worth a visit. A very pleasant experience, if we are in the area again we will definitely dine here.

Could not wait to return to Ollerton House for a a truly perfect meal. Perfect roast turkey with stuffing, creamed and roast potatoes, peas, carrots, and gorgeous savoy cabbage, topped off with yorkshire pudding and gravy. A classic lager and beer, plus a lemon and strawberry cheesecake handmade by Maddie with fresh fruit, and chocolate fudge cake both with fresh cream, neither dessert any good for the diet, BUT WHO CARES WE DESERVED TO BE DECADENT AND ENJOY LUXURY and Alison and Des certainly provided it. Been coming here every Sunday for lunch for nearly 5 years, pandemics permitting, could not wait until Sunday so today was extra special. Thank you both for perfection.

We have been having our Sunday Lunch here every Sunday for the past 4 or 5 years, as well as some midweek evening meals. Sunday is a lovely day here with the superb carvery. Obviously things have had to change to fit in with Covid rules but the carvery is just done differently and still offers 3 first class meats to choose from. Yorkshire's, mash, roasties, cabbage, peas, parsnips, carrots and fabulous gravy. Stuffing and relevant sauces too. Then if you have room, a super choice of desserts. The lovely people who run this establishment have done everything possible to ensure everyone's safety in the midst of these dreadful times. It is always advisable to book.

Once again Sunday Carvery for us..you simply cannot fault any bit of this meal..theres plenty and its tasty... Puddings followed today which too were very nice... Highly recommended prices fair too

We visited here on New Year’s Day for a Carvery. Very impressed with the food and the staff. Lovely lady behind the bar. Explained how it worked. We were seating quickly and served quickly too. A choice of meats and fresh veg. Nice and not too. We will definitely be back!

A big thank you to Alison, Des and the Team for a wonderful meal last night. We pre-ordered our food so that it would be served as soon as we arrived. We were not disappointed!!! All meals were served within five minutes of arrival. The food was hot, beautifully cooked and tasted delicious. A member of our party is a coeliac but this wasn't a problem as a gluten free option was available. Once again a big, big thank you to Alison, Des and the Team for making this a special evening for us all. The staff were courteous and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back in two weeks for another family celebration.

Just had a really nice meal at the Ollerton House. 11 of us, every meal was lovely, and the service excellent as usual.

We often have a meal at this wonderful hotel/restaurant/bar. We take part in the quiz every Thursday evening and love any excuse to have a meal. Tonight was no exception. The cottage pie is gorgeous, four of us chose this. All of the meals were hot, delicious and delivered together. The waitresses/waiters are lovely and friendly and always make us feel welcome. We highly recommend this place. Alison, Des and the rest of the staff are fab. Give it a try.

Another beautiful meal out with friends, never had a bad one yet and reading the reviews below as I leave this, I’m sure some people make a living out of leaving unfounded comments in the hope of discount. The staff are always friendly and the meals are clearly quality. Definitely be back again...

Thank you so much for our wonderful evening meals tonight. There were eleven of us and everything came out together. Meals were homemade and fresh. The service was excellent and the staff worked tirelessly making sure everything was perfect in every way!

The worst meal we’ve ever had. The time it took for them to cook it was ridiculous! When the meals finally arrived it was nothing special, the steak was over cooked, the salad wasn’t fresh and the burgers was burnt and greasy. Then it came to paying and the price was extortionate for what we actually received. Very disappointed and sadly won’t be returning.

Attended a family funeral here having not been to Ollerton for nearly 50 years. The pub was as I remembered it and seems to remain popular with the locals. Buffet was very good.

Called in here for an evening meal, bar staff friendly and helpful. Not a bad choice of menu. Waited a good half an hour for our food. Ordered chicken sizzler with rice no chips and 8oz rump with chips, peas, mushrooms and stilton sauce as an extra.

Called here again today. It was very busy
