The Cafe by Benugo in Cardiff

Went here for coffee and cake and it was very quite. The chocolate cake is very nice. But most of the seats and tables were covered in crumbs.

We popped in for tea and potentially a cake, and were really quite underwhelmed overall. The lady who served us was very nice, and my peppermint tea was good, but my husband's millionaire's shortbread was decidedly average.

Sin embargo, mientras estábamos allí poco después de abrir un sábado por la mañana 10. 00 no tenían baguettes para la opción de tocino. No había ensalada de frutas que era una opción en el menú publicado en la pared cuando entramos. Esto nos dejó con opciones limitadas. Aunque tengo que decir que el tocino en pan integral fue excelente al final. Mi compañero tomó un croissant, que era adecuado.

Entré en John Lewis mientras estaba en mi hora de la comida solo para mirar alrededor, terminé comiendo aquí pidiendo un sándwich, capuchino y un bollo.El personal fue muy rápido y muy educado, y un chico servicial despejó la mesa en la que quería sentarme con una sincronización casi perfecta. Volveré a visitar pronto, solo la caída fue scone fue un poco difícil en el medio. El café era genial.

Evito comer en este café como norma, ya que la calidad de los productos y las bebidas calientes que se sirven son de baja calidad y demasiado caras. Hace poco llamé a mi hija para tomar una bebida fría y casi me caí de shock cuando me cobraron 3. 50 por una botella pequeña de Fentimans Dandelion and Burdock ¡qué estafa total! Los cafés independientes en la localidad no cobran cerca de este precio. En el futuro apoyaré el café independiente.

Visité este restaurante en el piso de una calle y me sorprendió descubrir que se trata de una franquicia que no es propiedad de JL.Traté de pagar con algunos vales de JL y me dijeron que no los tomaron, buen trabajo que tenía otros medios para pagar.La comida era bastante insípida y sin ningún condimento.No regresaremos

I have just had the worst Americano coffee served by a completely unhelpful assistant In the coffee shop on the first floor Never again !!! Third floor coffee stop next time . 2.45 pounds for undrinkable expensive drink .

Este establecimiento se encuentra en los grandes almacenes John Lewis y ofrece refrigerios ligeros y aperitivos para la clientela de este establecimiento. Es posible que haya encontrado este equipo de catering en los principales museos de Londres. El menú es limitado pero de buena calidad, de acuerdo con los objetivos generales de la tienda principal. El personal es muy útil para los clientes que necesitan ayuda. Los clientes eran una amplia gama de madres con bebés, mujeres maduras, jóvenes y parejas. Precios en línea con los asociados con la tienda de host. Bueno para un café rápido o para descansar sus pies cansados.

Nos detuvimos aquí para tomar un café rápido y un pastel, sin embargo, tengo que decir que estábamos tan insatisfechos con los pasteles, especialmente teniendo en cuenta el precio que pagamos. Normalmente no revisaría un café en una tienda por departamentos, pero me temo que nuestra experiencia aquí fue tan pobre que me siento obligado a hacerlo.Café muy fuerte, demasiado fuerte para nuestro gusto y un sándwich espantoso con queso barato y pan insípido.El personal estaba bien aunque un poco sombrío, y el lugar estaba ordenado, pero estaba casi vacío y era la hora del almuerzo.Lo siento, pero mi consejo sería evitar e ir a la cafetería del tercer piso, que es muy superior en todos los sentidos. Eso es lo que hicimos.

Why did John Lewis move it's coffee shop to the 3rd floor and contract out it's 1st floor coffee shop? Not a good move. Staff unfriendly and slow to clear tables, despite the coffee shop being virtually empty. Scones and coffee not as good as in the 3rd floor establishment. I felt very unwelcome.

The place exudes quality. The staff are attentive and are well mannered. The food and coffee was also very good quality although not cheap

Why John Lewis contracted out the 1st floor cafe to these people escapes me. Although coffee is ok the place is dirty and tables remain uncleaned. Will not return.

Regular visitor to John Lewis in The Hayes. Normally use JL place on 3rd floor. Tried Benugo on 1st. Coffee was OK but fruit scones were dreadful. Hardly any fruit in them and so full of Bicarbonate that they were inedible. AVOID.

A lovely calm space to sit and enjoy a welcome cup of tea while shopping,Huge pot of tea for two,in a clean bright cafe with friendly and efficient staff.Cakes and baguettes looked good.

The cafe stays open until just before the shop closes at 8pm. We caught it in time for coffees after a day out sightseeing. There were friendly staff, who left us to wander around taking photos (the shape of the space, the decor and the views down into the streets below are photogenic) and were happy to let us just relax and unwind.

Why did John Lewis contract out this 1st floor cafe? Visited 3 times but could not find them to review on Tripadvisor.1st time - dire with tables uncleared, dirty and a feeling of chaos.2nd time - marginally better but still dirty, uncleared tables.3rd time (today) - better with a young person slowly clearing the tables.To be fair the coffees have been good but totally spoiled by poor service and dirty tables.John Lewis and Benugo should be ashamed to spoil this great city centre location within a great John Lewis store.

I had lunch here. The food was actually very nice, well prepared and reasonably priced. It feels a bit like eating in a canteen with its modern sterile surroundings and tables and chairs although there are some comfortable arm chairs also.The staff need a bit of extra customer care training. They all looked incapable of raising a smile and looked like they did not want to be there. It gave me an uncomfortable feeling.

Visited for brunch. The restaurant is very big with lots of seating. I cannot recall which floor it is on- probably 4th or 5th. There is a wide variety of food to choose from. I enjoyed my food but as usual - I could not eat it all! Beautiful fish and chips!!

We came into the cafe for a coffee and some cake before heading into town for some shopping.. the cafe was really quiet when we arrived and we're server straight away.There was confusion from the outset when ordering a cream team, a coffee and a croissant. After placing the order I was told that there was an offer on a cream tea if I wanted to order tea.. having already placed the order for a cream tea I thought this a little odd.Anyway we paid for the items using my card and had to ask for the receipt, I was given the card slip and not the receipt. Finally when sitting down we noticed that there were a number of tables with dirty dishes on and another couple had to clear a table before taking their seats in the window.For a quiet well staffed cafe this was a huge dissapointed and we will not be returning.

Miserable staff with no evidence of customer service training at even a basic level, extremely limited food choice, dirty counters and seating....I can't believe John Lewis would allow this poor quality offering in their store! Ill fitting uniforms mean you see more than you'd like of the staff....what a terrible downgrade!

This recently renovated coffee shop in John Lewis is a huge disappointment. The food choices are dismal compared to the previous offerings, the staff are miserable (I guess you pay extra for smiles and pleasantries), and the new furniture is grubby. Avoid glancing down the sides of the wing back chairs if you like clean facilities. The staff would benefit from better fitting uniforms as the muffin tops on display were as unpleasant a sight as the disappointing real cake selection. Why on earth are John Lewis allowing this on their premises??? What happened to standards? I was not impressed....
