Everything feshly made to order, very busy at lunchtime with a queue but this speaks for itself. They load the sandwiches and baquettes as much as possible, so good portions

Tried this place last week - avoid at all costs. The staff insert the salad items into baguettes using their bare hands (ever heard of gloves ???) whilst handling money and doing other jobs. The chap in the main picture should find another job as his customer service skills are non existent. Unfortunately he served me - I asked for a Honey Chicken salad baguette - on inserting the salad (with his bare hands) I then asked if I could have a little bit of Mayo. He looked at me in disgust, huffed then told me quite frankly that it was easier for him to have done that after buttering the baguette. Unbelievable! Will never go back to this place and would advise you avoid at all costs.

I have had two disgusting experiences. 1) I had toast the taller of the two served me and he had excess butter on his finger, he then wiped this on the inside of the bin and then continue to handle my toast! 2) we had a lamb and mint baguette , the topping fell of the spoon and onto the counter the server (again the taller one) scooped it back up with his finger and a spoon and put it in my baguette. I am not one to raise a complaint but this place should of been shut down. handling coins then picking up baguettes - Terrible

Had a tasty baguette from here on my lunch, queue was quite long but was worth the wait - not too expensive either!

Average food complimented by miserable staff. The 2 guys that work there are the most miserable people i have ever met. They are rude as well. Me and a colleague walked through their doors at 15.10 and instead of a 'hello' we got 'Oh we should have locked the doors'. On a seperate visit my friend asked for a BLT and instead of being told that they have run out of bacon and asking what else they would like he got told 'No Bacon' and then the guy just walked off. Honestly the place is a goldmine they serve a lot of people and the way they talk to people is a joke. The meal deal was a good deal. Baguette, crisps and a drink for £3.80. This was until they put a minium charge of £4 when paying by card meaning you can no longer just have a good deal. Noticed they have been getting very tight with food portions and quality has gone down hill. been going there 3 times a week for lunch but have stopped now. shame really.

I work nearby so visit JJS quite often, can't complain about food, and coffee is always nice and hot. breakfast rolls are very nice but you can get a bacon roll and coffee across the road for £2.00, half the price of JJS and always pleasant staff. A smile would not go a miss from members of staff/management of JJS occassionally

Been a regular customer at JJ'S for a long time and always the food has been tasty & fresh. Lots of choice & the meal deal is a bargain. The pulled pork is very nice and jacket potatoes with real butter, lovely. Highly recommend you pay a visit and good to support an independent.

The sandwich was poor with cheap tasting, processed ingredients and tasteless bread. There was no fresh salad on offer to go in the sandwich and also hygiene standards appeared to be poor. The server used their hands to put the filling in the sandiwch and did not wear gloves or appear to wash their hands. I would rather have a prepacked sandwich from the supermarket than go back here, sorry.

I visited Cardiff 4 days a week for a month for work. I went to JJs everyday for my dinner (ham and cheese baguette) meal deal and a portion of pulled pork. Everything was excellent, nice and work baguettes and gorgeous pulled pork. Staff friendly and gorgeous food. I don't understand other people's views on this establishment! Keep going!! :-)

The service was good, and our baguettes were tasty. You get what you pay for here - and it was good value for money.

I don't know why this place has not been reviewed more. Consistently busy in the time I was in there. Very fresh baguette with delicious egg mayonnaise. Plenty of options for a healthy lunch. Much better than a big pub meal or a hit and miss restaurant. I will come here again when I return to Cardiff.

There are many great independent sandwich shops in Cardiff, this unfortunately falls short of the mark (in regards to quality). It is very Cheap with the special only being around £2.20. The food is bland apart from the pulled pork which is above average. great if your own a budget.

Well went on recommendation and was highly disappointed. Severe lack of meat. Served the customer behind before me. No attention paid by the person serving who sprinkled a tiny bit of salad on and looked out the window while using the pepper mill in the same spot. All in all a poor experience and the food wasn't really that good anyway. Needless to say I will not be going back.

It's quite close to the railway and bus stations so if you're in the area and looking for fast food that's a bit healthier than your burger or fried chicken then you could do a lot worse than try Jj's. I found it by chance and went for the baguette of the day which happened to be chicken caesar. The rolls they use are really fresh and good quality. The filling is quite generous, especially if you have the optional peppers and red onions which they offer you (included in the price). I had it to go and it's neatly wrapped so you can eat it without getting in a mess. There are tables there so you can eat in if you want. At £1.99 I was so impressed I went back the next day. Chicken Mexicana this time. Equally tasty. The full priced menu is still good value, and the pulled pork looked very tempting. If I;m in Cardiff again, that;s where I;ll be headed.

This is what "fresh to order" looks like. If you can't cook chips, or send them in an edible fashion, perhaps a chip shop isn't for you? These chips were as dry as a rotting floorboard. The owner will no doubt play the denial game and wash off any responsibility, but the truth of the matter is that elephants have great memories - and so do your customers.

NB: This restaurant is now called Dubai Nights. I do not know whether it is the same ownership/management/staff as Sultan, the previous business's name, but at least the business now has a very good council hygiene rating.

This seems to be shut , what a shame was really looking forward to eating here. Other catering at St Fagans not the same and is like catering anywhere

It took a little while to be seated, but the gazebo area we were sat in was cute and after figuring out how to use the app we managed to order our food and drinks. The trip was supposed to be a nice breakfast/brunch, with time left in the morning before having to work in the afternoon, but as time ticked on without even receiving our drinks we were wondering if we had just been forgotten about. Other customers appeared to be having a similar delay in their food but none of the staff had told us why it was taking so long. Eventually our two drinks came out after half an hour of waiting (usually the standard time for a simple meal on a normal day?), and these were not complicated drinks, just sparkling soft drinks from a bottle. We were told the food would be soon, so we thought the food might follow not long after. We were wrong. Other customers were served food and drinks before us even though they arrived and ordered after we did, so we called over the staff to ask when to expect our food. The answer was it was coming out next, which didn't give a timescale and there was no explanation given as to why it was so late, but the waitress was friendly and apologised. I was extremely unimpressed with others being served before us when we had ordered before them, this is not good practice. When the food arrived (a cooked breakfast and avocado on toast) we quickly realised the vegan meal that was the avocado and grilled vegetables was actually the non-vegan meal and had meat on. We called over one of the kitchen staff who was nearby and asked if this was meat, and he said it was meat and took it back into the kitchen for the chef to prepare another. I know mistakes can happen, but this was very disappointing after such a long wait for food, it had been an hour and a half by the time we were eating and there were only three other tables seated in the gazebo at this time of the morning, not exactly heaving. We were brought another plate and we were apologised to, but again no explanation as to why we waited an hour and a half for a breakfast, no offer of a refund, and when we were asked if we wanted more drinks it wasn't clear if they would be on the house or if we would be waiting another 20 minutes for them so we said no. The food itself was good. But in all honesty nobody goes to a restaurant for such a limited experience.
