We visited 15th November 2023 for a (admittedly) late lunch, with a 4 month old baby in tow. We ordered a soft drink each, plus the Brie, Bacon & Cranberry panini each, listed to come with Coleslaw, Crisps and side salad. The food was excellent. I could tell the Coleslaw was home made. The side salad was a green leaf side salad but it was super fresh (no brown bits anywhere at all) and the panini was lovely, hot, crisp with ample filling and nicely cooked bacon (hate undercooked bacon). Staff were lovely and friendly, and took the time to ask about our baby and have some banter with us. I think I identify, from previous reviews on here, the lady in question who is referred to being rude / upright (I quote). However, she was absolutely fine with us as we ask things, take an interest, make conversation and I told her the Coleslaw was home made without even knowing it was at the time, which I think she appreciated. All in all, good experience and we would return. Quaint, tidy, clean little place too with gorgeous arrangements of dried flowers and gifts you can purchase.

Visited with my husband on a sunny day. Lovely cakes and sandwiches on offer. Coffee was lovely. Small cafe but very clean and tidy. I'm a keen foodie and love to visit quaint coffee shops being in the trade myself. The girls were very friendly, the only wee small gripe I have is the lady seemed a little uptight 🤔!

I was on a journey with very little time to stop but very hungry. I asked in the shop opposite if they did takeaway sanwiches. They very nicely said they didn't, but the cafe across the road, ie the Pembridge Cafe, did. So I went to this cafe and asked at the counter and, fair play, the woman was flustered, but in a very sharp, angry, tone she said 'I'm far too busy to do takeaways!' What was wrong with pausing, counting to 5 and saying calmly with a smile 'I'm very sorry but we can't do you a taeaway today.' I won't go back again. I hate rudeness and being snapped at.

Excellent cakes that appear to be homemade (some gluten free). Earl Grey tea brewed to a peak of freshness without a hint of being in anyway stewed. Service was prompt, polite and efficient and the ambiance of the room, entirely in keeping with the cafe theme and the restrained nature of the village.

Called by as we were out for a ride in the sunshine. Nice that dogs are welcome inside and outside on the couple of tables on the pavement. Good selection of beverages and a large assortment of cakes, cruffins, croissants and gluten free baked goods, which is an asset to those with family members who are always left out because they cannot tolerate gluten in their diet. I had no idea that hot foods such as bacon rolls were available until I overheard a staff member ask a customer if they would like condiments with theirs. I saw quiche and salad on offer on the board. Friendly staff and a pleasant location for this sweet little cafe.

Went in to have a light snack and had good coffee and a reasonable cornish pasty - no garnish to enhance the presentation. Service was friendly and efficient. Quality of furnishing pretty basic and stark, not much ambience. I then made the mistake of buying two cakes to take away- a piece of carrot cake and coffee and walnut square. Both were way overpriced for such small portions and the coffee and walnut was tasteless, stale and dry - ended up giving it to our chickens! Over £16 for 2 coffees 2 cornish pasties and 2 tiny portions of take away cake, one being inedible. So a rip off with the take away side of this underwhelming experience.

It was a cold wet day and the other local tea-room was shut so the cafe was very busy, I imagine that could account for the disappointing food and service. We ordered leek and potato soup and after quite a long wait were told that there was only 1 portion left. I had the soup which was very watery and under-seasoned.My husband had over-cooked scrambled egg on toast (which we think must have been microwaved) it was more like chopped up omelette than scrambled eggs. The place looks very inviting and probably usually is, but not today. It took ages to be served by one rather surly waitress (probably surly as she had lots to do on her own), I wiped our table down as it was dirty, other tables not cleared away quickly at all. Cream tea had no, cream and my husband had to asked if there was a refund for no cream. Yes! 50p! The scone was small and definitely the last of the day and the tea cake a little dry. I'm sure that usually this place is good as it was busy. Maybe employing two waitresses for busier periods would be an idea. The owner, I'm assuming, was in the kitchen working on her own. Not good for a business to keep customers waiting. Some of the old people were also wondering whether they would ever get served.

Called in here as it seemed to be the only place serving food after 2p.m on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy with only two staff and the owner. The owner prepared the food and the rwo others served and took orders and payment. One had no idea how to work the till and the other was quite rude. There were 5 of us, and 4 had finished their meals before the fifth had received theirs. Some of the drinks also came out after our meals had been eaten. When we asked about the missing meal, we were told firstly that she had a lot to do and that it was on it's way, then after another 15 minute wait, we asked again, and was told it was not on the original order even though we had ordered and paid for everything together! The food itself was ok, with everything fresh and nicely prepared. Had the attitude of this certain member of staff been better, then the wait for the missing meal would have been more forgiving.

This place looked perfect for our group which ranged in age from four to 79 and had it been more welcoming we would probably have returned more than once and spent quite a bit of money. I would like to include in my review what the food was like, but unfortunately I didn't have any. This was due to the fact one scoop of ice cream in a cone was £3, while there are many places that sell ice cream for less than half the price! The other reason was the woman who served us. I went with a party of 11, and our intention was that half of us were going to have ice cream, and the rest were going to stay for a cup of tea. The woman was incredibly rude and seemed in a rush to get us out of there (you'd think she would be happy 11 people were in her cafe!) because we were apparently "taking up space", despite the fact there were only a couple other customers in sight! In the end, her blunt attitude led to most of us leaving without buying anything! I would definitely not recommend this cafe!

The second time I had welsh rarebit, and when it arrived it was two slices of toast, but only one had the "rarebit" topping on. The other just had butter. When I'm paying upwards of £5 for cheese on toast, I at least expect to get cheese on both slices! You'd do much better to go across the road, which is one of the nicest cafes around and consistently excellent.

We stopped by for tea, Cokes and sandwiches. The latter were made on superb bread, sourced from near Hereford - where the owner (?) lives near to - and the fillings of egg mayonnaise and roast beef were the best we've had for a very long time. The beef medium rare, thickly sliced and a generous quantity. The egg with a hint of mustard was very tasty and again, generously filled.Pleasant and friendly atmosphere. A recommended visit.

Stopped here after a bike ride and it was absolutely delightful! We had the quiche and the ploughmans off the specials board and both were lovely! We couldn't leave without trying the cake and it was well worth the additional calories! The staff and the food are lovely and there's plenty of local treats to buy in the shop too! It's well worth calling in!

Pembridge is lucky to have a few great eating establishments for a small village. Today we enjoyed lunch at the Cafe & Tearooms on Bridge Street. Lovely, simple menu of freshly made / cooked items and cakes. A great selection of teas. We enjoyed between us sandwiches, Welsh Rarebit and homemade scones. Everything was fresh and tasty with good service. Happy to recommend and will definitely go back again.

We found this gem 3 years ago on our first journey from Milton Keynes to Aberystwyth when out daughter first started at university there. Beautiful food and a lovely tranquil atmosphere, just what is needed after 3 hours plus on the road. We loved the cooked breakfast so much that we would set the alarm for the crack of dawn so as not to miss it, to stop half way through our journey is unthinkable.

We arrived after cycling with my 12 y.o. son from Presteigne. We asked about our bikes (we forgot a lock) and were welcomed in and our bikes went to a yard round the back. The soup was homemade and excellent (broccoli) with huge chunks of fresh bread and local butter. My son had sandwiches which were also freshly prepared. Cakes for pudding were superb, and my son had ice cream. However, the reason I would go back again was the coffee. It is first rate. Thanks for refuelling us for the ride home!

It is easy to find a quaint tearoom in this part of the country, but a rarer thing is a modern café with good coffee. I had a really great cup of coffee. The service was really friendly, there was a good selection of home made cakes, papers to read and nice clean modern tables to sit at. I would definitely make a detour to visit again.

We popped in for lunch during a stop off in Pembridge. We had a sandwich each which was freshly prepared and well presented with crisps and dressed salad. I also had a slice of cake which was delicious. There was a very good selection of cakes and it was difficult to chose which one to have. The coffee was very good too. We received very good service and the owner was very friendly and welcoming I will certainly be back on my next trip to Pembridge.

This unassuming café is on the black and white villages cycle route and we always plan our trip so that we stop here for lunch. The problem is there are too many nice things to choose. The owner is a very experienced and skilled cook - so as well as enjoying well prepared food and cakes you can get a lesson on how to improve your own.The owner takes great pride in choosing specialist tea and coffee to go with the food.Things we have really enjoyed here - the beef and ham in sandwiches or salads, the soups, the scones and cakes. The place over the road is probably fine - but this is where we will be parking our bikes

My Wife and I visited this cafe on 6th November after delivering to the Old Chappel Gallery opposite. Having driven nearly three hours we were in need of refreshment and were delighted to discover this delightful establishment. Veronica Richardson who runs the cafe single-handed, proved a very friendly and welcoming host and it turns out she does most of the cooking and bakes the wonderful selection of cakes. The homemade soup was delicious and coffee better than most of the chains. Bright and fresh, well decorated and spotlessly clean we will certainly visit again when in the area.

Visited the tearooms on 10 August for morning coffee. What a delightful place, very friendly and welcoming. There was a beautiful assortment of home made cakes and we had scones which must be the nicest and freshest we have had in a tea room. We only wished it had been lunchtime as the menu was very appetising and everything is obviously prepared from fresh local produce. We visited the tea shop two years ago when on holiday and it had only been open for a few weeks and it was excellent then. The owner certainly deserves to do well in this venture and we would thoroughly recommend a stop there if you are in the area. We could not rate the food, cleanliness and welcome high enough.

We visit Pembridge regularly and this Café on the corner of Bridge Street is definitely our favourite because we are always made so welcome, the place is clean, light & comfortable; the food is top quality, delicious and served with every attention to detail. Even a cup of tea is an experience and the ice-cream is to die for. There is strong competition in the village but this is always our first choice, except on Tuesdays, when the Café is closed.

We stopped here for tea shortly before they closed for the day, but were warmly welcomed into the pretty tearoom. This is a place which is clearly loved and cherished and much thought has gone into the decor and presentation as well as the food and drink served. The cake was delicious and the tea was real leaf tea, served in pretty china cups. MIL was delighted. Very relaxing and extremely friendly owners and staff. A very special place. Thank you!
