The Cactus in Scarborough

We went tonight to the cactus for something to eat. We had a great time. Young Ruby will make anyone feel welcome. The food was outstanding. The atmosphere was VERY chilled. When we come back to Scarborough we will definitely come back to the cactus 🌵

Incredible little bar and restaurant. Food was exceptional with some great cocktails to wash them down. Ruby was an absolute delight and couldn't go out her way enough for us. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

Brilliant atmosphere, super friendly but not over the top staff. Delicious food, we’ve ordered the lamb tzatziki burger and a double stack burger (chicken&beef with mac sauce, can’t remember the name) with chips and two soft drinks. Complimentary water and flavoured nuts to snack on before the meals arrived. The atmosphere was great with good music on, and lots of little attentions to detail like cactus shaped salt and pepper shakers (cute!). An amazing value for money, the food was of excellent quality, only came to around £35 and we were both stuffed. Loved that the drinks in cans arrivals with a glass with ice and a metal straw! One little thing is the food was served on chopping boards - I get it’s a trend (is it still?) but it was a tiny minus point for hygienic reasons, but not bad enough to take a star off. I rarely leave reviews but feel this place deserves to be packed every day!

Friendly, warm welcome excellent service the guys in there are 10 out of 10 as a vegan I was a bit sceptical but the guy’s knowledge and willingness to help absolutely fantastic definitely the best plant best burger I’ve eaten

Excellent, really good food, lovely staff. Would definitely recommend. Very small but made most of the available space and yet didn't feel cramped. Quite popular with locals and tourists alike

8 of us visited the Cactus diner during our stay in Scarborough and all our meals were absolutely delicious! The service is exceptional and prices are great too. We will definitely be returning next time we visit.

Lovely food and service and great prices

This is a hidden gem! My partner and I visited here a few days ago and had such a lovely time! I was torn between which burger to get, and our incredible hostess recommended the Minted Majesty to me - it was so delicious and the homemade tzatziki was so good! I also upgraded to the curly fries, which came with a delicious seasoning which was to die for! My partner went for the Smokin' Barrel and he loved it! Cocktails were amazing and our incredible hostess recommended a cocktail from the Peaky Blinders night (which my partner loved!). If we're ever in Scarborough again, we'll definitely be back here! Can't recommend this place enough!!

Super friendly people inside, cosy lighting and cool cacti on the tables !!!! The milkshakes were gorgeous and the burger was pleasantly really big and well priced , you get a lot for your money and it is super tasty I had the vegetarian Earthy bean burger with cheesy chips and it was awesome, by far the best burger I have ever had in my whole life The staff were really kind, helpful, happy and welcoming. Nice atmosphere however the only thing is that the blender can be a bit loud but that is not a big thing. 10 out of ten , would definitely recommend we will certainly be coming here again, amazing quality 💕💕💕💕❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💕💕💕💕❤️❤️❤️❤️

Tiny little cocktail bar / restaurant. Mushroom burger was amazing, service was good and friendly, and the long island ice tea was 7.50 and very nice. Pretty empty on friday at 6 when we were in, deserves to be full to the rafters.

Incredible food and cocktails. Plus lovely and approachable staff which were able to adapt food and drinks as we wanted making the experience perfect. Always the same incredible food every time we go in the restaurant or takeaway. Would recommend and in my opinion Cactus is the best burger place in Scarborough. Recommended to most of my family! Will be going again for many years to come.

Great little find! My partner and I had burgers with fries (Cactus Special and Mixed Tower) and our friend ordered the Serento pizza. Everything was great. Burgers were really good quality meat and our friend enjoyed the pizza. Fries were very tasty too, fluffy on the inside and crispy outside. Very generous portions. Pina colada cocktail was perfect too. Great service, very polite staff. Definitely will be back!

My husband and I got takeout. I opted for a chilli hot dog and my husband the spicy pizza. Portions sizes were generous, the food was well seasoned and not greasy at all. Lush food!

Food is wonderful only negatives are you need to ask for serving spoons and plates and they don't clear the table until your leaving even though our son had a dessert.

Great food that was both filling and delicious, alongside a friendly atmosphere and exceptional service all with a fair price has left us wanting to return asap!

9 of us visited tonight . From the outset we were made to feel very welcome . All 9 meals were excellent, service was timely. The waiter and the guy making the meals were so friendly: We visit Scarborough regularly and now we’ve found this Gem we will definitely visit each time we do. Prices were very good for the quality of food you can’t go wrong: often pay far more for far less 😊

That's twice we've been, twice turned away at 10pm closing is advertised as 11pm, appalling service, won't bother a third time 😡

Me and my partner ordered 2 burgers and the stuffed jalapeño’s, some of the best burgers in town and the staff were very polite. We even were given some cans of Pepsi for free. Would recommend to anyone!

Hi I’m writing this review on tonight’s takeaway which was delivered in very good time . I had a rizo burger which I will defo eat again . The flavours and quality of the meat are the best in town . The other burger was a lamb minted was nice .

Fantastic place, staff very friendly and lovely ambience. By far the best cocktails I’ve ever had, student days included!! We visited for a round during the week and were only sorry we had already eaten as the menu looked good too. Reasonably priced and good selection, and if the drinks were anything to go by I’m sure the food would’ve been top notch too. Would recommend to anyone staying in Scarborough wanting food and drinks out!

We popped in during a social jaunt with friends, so most of us just had a drink whilst I tried the Cookie Dough dessert. Firstly, the staff were polite and friendly, seating us straight away and taking our order in a timely fashion. The food was prepared fresh, was delicious and really filling. Though only a narrow venue, they gave made good use of the available space by having the cocktail bar up front and table seating in the back. This also meant we were sat away from those who just came in for a drink, which meant we could still enjoy our conversation without too much background noise. Worth a visit if you’re in the area, and we’d certainly like to try more of the menu next time we visit!

The staff were welcoming and friendly, couldn’t do enough for us. The food was sensational, the Cactus Dog was simply unbelievable. 10 inches of German heaven.

A small and cosy restaurant. The service is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The food is excellent. If you want a great burger with a couple of nice cocktails, this is the place to be.

Lovely little versatile takeaway and restaurant. Solid menu that caters for all tastes including vegetarians, and open for dining in until late, unlike most other restaurants. Even allowed us to visit with our well-behaved dog! Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful place with the nicest staff and literally the best burgers in Scarborough. Brought 5 of my mates for a evening meal and we had the time of our lives. Burgers were 10/10, the cocktails were 10/10 and the wines were pretty good too. Shoutout to Ruby and Ru best people ever.

Best food in Scarborough we’ve had. The nicest atmosphere and the best service. The food was incredible and it really outdoes itself for the price. The fact that it’s served by the chefs too is just the cherry on top. Me and my mates had a very loverly time. Thank you :)

Would give 6 stars if we could! We came here a few days ago and the experience was amazing. The food was unreal, the portions were massive, especially for the price. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy with decent decor. The staff and the owner were incredibly friendly and the customer service is top notch. Would definitely recommend. Wish we had found this place sooner in our trip!

We had a lovely meal at The Cactus Diner. We were going to a concert at the Open Air Theatre and wanted to grab a bite to eat beforehand. A quick Google search brought up The Cactus Diner. We all had pizzas, which were delicious. It was all reasonably priced. The overall ambience of the restaurant was chill and relaxing. We will definitely visit again before our next gig at the Open Air Theatre!

Found this little jem by accident. The burgers are amazing, and the cocktails even better.

Great food, great service, great value. Our first time here and it won’t be our last. From walking through the door to a friendly welcome, we knew we were in for a great time. wow wow wow I visited with my boyfriend a few weeks ago and had the best experience ! The food was delicious, (especially the bbq burger and my pizza was very good )and the cocktails were so pretty and tasty .over all an amazing experience The whole environment is so trendy and the bar girl made us feel so welcome and was so polite despite it being really busy .will be 100% coming back for the next date night 💕

Wow!!!! I visited this restaurant on May Bank Holiday after searching for best burger/pizza I Scarborough. Well I wasn't disappointed from the moment we arrived the guys made us feel welcome and although the restaurant is quite small with limited space the atmosphere and music was top draw. The burgers we ordered were amazing, great choice of combinations so everyone could have exactly what they fancied. I must say my burger with 2 sirloin steaks cooked to perfection was the best burger I have ever had. The cook takes pride in his work as does all the other members of staff. Please visit this restaurant if you are going to Scarborough and support this local business.

“Hidden gem of Scarborough” perfectly put!! We were in Scarborough for a couple of nights from Doncaster as we usually do each year and The cactus Diner is always on our to do list amazing food and even better service. Cocktails are amazing.

Second trip to Cactus diner, lovely friendly service, can’t do enough for you. Really nice pizza, light and fluffy base, tasty burgers and a rather yummy milkshake!! Would recommend if you’re in the area and looking for a family friendly restaurant. Will definitely return next time we’re over in Scarborough.

Went here with some friends who live in Scarborough, it is a very cosy comfortable eating area and wasn’t rushed at all to make our choices We had cocktails and were delicious We all ordered burgers of different kinds and can honestly say they are some of the best burgers we have had and the accompanying sides were lovely too The prices are really reasonable and the staff are great very friendly and polite We will definitely be returning next time we are in Scarborough

Really friendly staff Funky new cocktails...

An absolute disgrace of an establishment. Probably the worst meal out of my life. The food is disgusting, greasy, tasteless and the pizza falls apart when you try and eat it. It made me feel so ill and traumatised that I disposed of some of the pizza in the toilet bin. The “cocktails” were embarrassing to place that brands itself as a cocktails bar. I’d rather drank my own urine to be honest. To add insult to injury we had to wait almost 30 minutes to get our drinks and a further hour until our (ready made) pizzas were served. The server was patronising and complaining of how busy she was…there were 4 tables. Overall I wouldn’t take my worst enemy here. A week later and I’m still having nightmares. Avoid.

Well what can I say.. originally a takeaway that is offering the 'dine in' experience, and what an experience. It is small with just a few tables but so worth the effort. Very friendly and accommodating, they could not do enough for us and with a smile. Now on to the food... a takeaway this is not, the food is worthy of awards. I have eaten in alot of different places and The Cactus Diner is at the top with the best of them. They can make a simple corn on the cob be the best I have eaten. Lamb very tender and garlic mushrooms in a creamy sauce served with a toasted bread, we also had the classic dog served with fried onions and tomato sauce. If you are a resident or just visiting this place is highly recommended 👌

Popped in for a few cocktails whilst on hols and had such a great time that we took the whole extended family back the next night for more cocktails and food. There was a great atmosphere and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The cocktails are delicious and taste as good as any I've had anywhere in the world! Amazing food too. The burgers were juicy, the pizzas were full of flavour and the kids loved loved loved the milkshakes. If you are in Scarborough then this is a great place to hang out and eat/drink. We had an amazing time.

We had a lovely time at The Cactus with our son. We all had burgers which were great, especially our whole ribeye steak burgers which was not what we expected (we expected minced steak). The steaks were cooked well and the mushroom sauce was delicious,...

We were really impressed with this eatery! All the food was cooked perfectly on the grill and there were some brilliant flavours. The marinade on the chicken wings was lush. They also do a couple of vegan and vegetarian options. Would Definitly go back.

This is one of our best places in Scarborough. Staff are very nice and friendly. I love when they play afrobeats and specifically Naija bashment whenever we are there!

Our first visit before dinner in a nearby restaurant was so great that we went back after our meal. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Rearranged chairs and tables to accommodate 9 of us. Next time we will definitely try the food which smelled delicious.

The food was lovely however had to wait 90 minutes for it, other diners had the same experience. We were told they were short staffed however they appeared to prioritize take aways; we were offered a drink as compensation, only 1 between the 3 of us! When it came to paying I was given the option on the card machine to leave a tip which I explained that I couldn't justify because of the wait. However, stupidly I didn't check my bill and noted that a 10% service charge had already been applied, which meant if I had elected on payment to add to my bill I would have been charged twice for service; note to self, always check my bills before paying!!!!

I searched up places to eat near me and this one caught my eye I was staying in Scarborough for a night and went here the food was filling and delicious and the staff were nice and friendly and I think this is better than all the fast food restaurants by far and recommend for people who like a lovely family meal

Booked due to locality from accommodation and reviews. Very friendly, tasty cocktails and good, but not amazing, food. Be aware, it is a very small eating in experience, with a few tables at the back of a takeaway. Choice on menu was limited - burger, pizza or kebab. Pizzas may have been better option but we went for burger and chicken kebab... Like I said, very friendly 😉

Great little place with Morretti on tap for £3 a pint. Didn't have a cocktail but the menu looked really good as did the happy hour offer. All the food was fresh and really tasty, big portions, we will definitely return! Perfect grill combo meal for two, gorgeous pizza, chips and the sauces were amazing. Also the two owners are really friendly, good guys 👍
