The Butterfly Room in Solihull

We went here as part of the Jazz Festival and enjoyed our visit. The decor is very nice and they have an upstairs bar and room as well. Most enjoyable drinks as well. Regards Gary Saunders

I went in with my friend and we had a lovely evening, served by Shannon who was a delight, constantly ready to serve and being so polite. Would definitely come back soon.

Well where do I start? Without a doubt, this was the worst brunch I’ve been on. We arrived on time to find our table was not ready, so were told they’d get it ready for us. 15 minutes later & nothing was done, so my friend went up & they realised we we still waiting… our table was then ready in a couple minutes. We sat down at the table & no menus were provided (so we needed to ask for these) & our first drinks order was taken about 15-20 minutes later. They then took our food order about 30 minutes after we sat down, which they had to come back after to check as they’d missed an item off the order. Once our first drinks came (about 45 minutes after sitting down), we were asked what we’d like for our next round of drinks as they realised we’d be waiting so long for our first round. So we waited & waited for these, put the order in again with another waitress & they still didn’t show up. My friend then went up to the bar to check where they were… they lost the order (I guess twice), but no one had the thought to check what we’d like/take the order again. They took the order again & after about another 20 minutes of waiting our friend went up again. A few minutes later, our friend comes back with the drinks whilst a member of the staff just stands by the bar. After being there for 1 hour and 45 minutes, we’d now had 2 drinks. It took another hour for us to get the second despite putting the order in for them multiple times! And the food too! Our food arrived about half an hour after we ordered it, except for the Mac and Cheese which we had to inform them was missing about 5 minutes after everything else was brought out & other tables started to be served. The food was good (although I wouldn’t rate the bao buns - I’ve had much better elsewhere), but my friends did say their pizza was dry. In the end, we did manage to have our 3 drinks included with the brunch (we didn’t choose the bottomless option, just the option with 3 drinks), plus they chucked a free one in too. At this rate, if we went for the bottomless option, we would’ve had 2 drinks in the 2 hours! The manager also came to speak to us at the end & offered us each a £10 refund which we accepted. He explained that the deposit we each payed would be refunded (in roughly 5 days) and surprise surprise, nothing has been received - we were sceptical this might happen at the time after the terrible service we had. My friend has tried contacting them multiple times & has messaged them on social media, but they continue to ignore her. So if you have a similar experience to us and they offer you a refund of your deposit, just be aware that you’ll likely never receive it. And honestly I wouldn’t be leaving this review if they just refunded the deposit, as that was more than fair for the terrible experience we received. On top of that, they also charged me the same price for the mocktail brunch as the standard brunch (and we even checked this with the manager - he said it was the same price) even though the menu clearly states it’s £5 cheaper. Honestly an absolute shambles & I won’t ever be returning. Turtle Bay just down the road had much better service even though it was considerably busier than this place.

Such a lovely place to meet friends. So relaxing and friendly. No pressure, just enjoy yourself. I would thoroughly recommend a visit here.
