First time visiting and impressed. Generous portion Sunday lunch, high quality ingredients cooked lovely. Chilled atmosphere and friendly service. Look forward to coming back again

We visited the Butchers Arms on the 31st of January 2025 for a family meal and to celebrate my brothers 12th wedding anniversary to his chinese wife, they and there family had travelled from Beijing in china to visit us and as a surprise we booked a table at the butchers Arms. On arrival at the Butchers Arms we were greeted by very friendly staff and shown to our table, the whole atmosphere of the whole pub was amazing from welcoming and friendly staff to a cozy log fire and comfortable music playing in the back the whole seemed so homely. Our food orders were taken by a very friendly and well presented restaurant staff member who actually could not do enough for us during our stay in fact went out of there way to make sure everything ran as smooth as possible , after a short while our food arrived and we began eating our meal, the presentation of the food was absolutely amazing well prepared cooked to perfection and very very tasty indeed !!!!!!! At the end of the meal we had a final couple of drinks and a bit of a sing song. we all left the Butchers Arms very full and extremely happy and so much so we will certainly be returning for more amazing food and good times keep up the good work Butchers arms you have a gold star from us .......

Visited The Butchers Arms in Bramshall with family for lunch. The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly and the food was beautifully cooked and presented. Will definitely visit again.

We have visted last week for their first launched steak night Thursday as a group of 5 friends. Located in a lovely Bramshall village with two nice gardens and big car park. Lovely and clean gastro pub with fireplaces and dog friendly too. From the moment we walked in we were looked after by very friendly staff members. The choice of food on the menu was huge with specials, main menu and steaks menu was given to us too. Fantastic choice of cask ales and other drinks. We have ordered 5 starters, 5 mains and 4 puddings. The quality of our meals was just spot on, everything cooked fresh, very tasty amd well presented. Steaks were to die for, starters also delicuous and pudding filling too. The atmosphere with dimmed lights and the smell of burning logs helped us to relax after a long drive. Superb value for money and we will be returning shortly as it's one of our favourite places now. Thank You for looking after us.

Met up with family today for Sunday lunch, at the Butchers Arms, where we have been several times before. However... the lunch of roast beef was not what we expected, fatty tough beef, including string!, hair in a Yorkshire pud! Waiting staff were all lovely, but the kitchen let them down. Will not be returning.

We both had a lovely steak dinner and the staff were really attentive and welcoming. Given we struggled to pick between the starter options I'm sure we'll be back to try the other options

Visited with family for a late afternoon lunch only to be told they only had a light bite menu which was poor to say the least, dispite a table nearby being served off the full menu . Ordered our drinks the 2pints off Tribute ale was undrinkable and off. When the light bite meals finally arrived after waiting 50 mins, the quality was very poor. What an utter disappointment after visits under the previous landlords. Sorry to say if you are considering this establishment DONT avoid at all costs

Came over from Tamworth to have a catchup with a friend who just moved back to the area recently. Pub was lovely and welcoming as was Jacob, who has a wicked Sense of humour. Food was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon meal. Would highly recommend.

We went for lunch, having not visited before. The pub gives a warm welcome and is nicely laid out and seemed to be newly decorated. It is spotless throughout. A pint of Bass for me is a winner. But they also had Doom Bar and Tribute so a great choice of beer. The lunch time menu was varied and freshly made. Ideal. I thought the prices were very fair. So all good. Give it a try, I think you will be impressed.

I went with a friend today for lunch and the whole team were friendly and welcoming. The food was really lovely, I think the chips were the best I’ve ever had as was the sticky toffee pudding! I will definitely be back.

Lovely, warm welcoming by all staff, I had lamb koftas with chunky chips, best chunky chips I’ve had in a long time and the koftas were very yummy too. My friend and I also shared a sticky toffee pudding which was absolutely delicious, I’ll definitely be back 👍

My friend and I had lunch there and it was delicious! Lovely, tasty food, a warm welcome, with a real fire and a really nice environment… an absolute gem! I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit a true English pub. Thank you to the fabulous team, especially the landlord who was so welcoming and gave us some delicious sticky, toffee pudding! Incredible food!! The new owner has done an amazing job. Food is 10/10, service is amazing and the staff are fantastic. Even the owner makes an appearance which makes a big difference to making you feel welcome. Ill definitely be returning and making this a go to for a sunday roast! If you dont go, your mising out and a truly awesome meal!

Came here for the first time today. Didn’t book (oops). They gave us a table in the bar by the fire (I don’t want to sit anywhere else now. It was perfect!) The food, the service, all of it was amazing. They get their meat locally and it was cooked perfectly. We both had a Trio of Meats and both are extremely happy with what we got! Quality is high! Good value here! I am coming back!!

Our local pub is so improved under its new management. The food and service were excellent. All the Staff so friendly and Jacob (Landlord) came and had a friendly chat to welcome us.

We visited this pub by chance. The outside looked welcoming so we went in for a drink. The lad who served me was excellent, friendly, helpful and a pleasure. There was a gentle pleasant atmosphere throughout the pub. Beer was good and so was the wine. Good clean car park. No complaints whatsoever, I'll be going back.

First visit to the Butchers Arms under its new management and, it was excellent I have to say. I can see this getting really popular

We had been badly let down by another pub in Uttoxeter. Thankfully one of the customers, not only recommended The Butchers Arms, he also helped us by phoning and making sure we had a table booked (thank you Charlie). When we got to the pub, landlady Ange, was very welcoming and friendly, she was so sweet and helpful. Food was OK, not great, but OK, we were a party of 12 and the chef had been asked to stay back to help which was very kind. However, we wanted to say a big thank you to the pub for helping us, welcoming us so kindly and generally being decent people.

We called here on my birthday, the lady who greeted us was lovely, we were there's gonly people in there, my sister chose lasagna, I had sausage chip peas and eggs. I asked

Good place for drinking and parties. Nice sitting space good food, good people. Enough parking to accommodate good crowds. Food is served generally on time. Hygiene is maintained nicely.

Ordered the double chicken stack and the chicken was fresh out of icelands freezer. Chips were boring and quite frankly incredibly disappointed. Took about 45 minutes for the food to come out and for £14 id expect a decent burger and to think they don’t even have lettuce to put on it is diabolical. Can confidently say i wont be returning.

Biker friendly with a nice landlord Biker who offers a nice range of food and drink and Bike 🏍 meets on a Wednesday evening about 6pm. Nice bloke and place, not forgetting friendly locals and child and dog-friendly local pub.

Amazing Sunday dinner here - couldn’t fault the main at all! The dessert wasn’t great but the main more than made up for it. Good selection of ales too

Had four fantastic meals tonight very, very good, try it you will enjoy it, I am sure. A great selection of Beers with the Plum Porter being the stand-out favourite for me. Great Landlady and Lamdlord. New Kebad on the menu try it you will enjoy this with homemade chips!

Unfortunately I had to echo the sentiments of a previous review: very thin, what looked like frying steaks, totally overcooked. Having eaten here a number of times before we have come to expect a lovely standard of pub food, which tonight's meal fell drastically short of. The steak itself looked like off cuts, very thin and totally overcooked. The tomato was pale orange and not grilled at all and the mushroom overcooked and flavourless. It was really just a terribly cooked meal, presented poorly. Whar was even more frustrating for me was the total lack of interest from the staff - "okay thank you" and then charging full price is really not acceptable, when both my husband and I had one bite of each food on the plate before leaving it. No apology or acknowledgement that the food was not up to scratch, despite us knowing that they can do better. Despite this being our local, we wont be back. Fortunately Parilla in Uttoxeter town centre could seat us at the last minute and we had a delicious steak meal there.

So sad to write this but this has to be one of the worst meals we have ever eaten. The restaurant had 4 people in on Wednesday evening, we made it 8. We ordered steak which was inedible - 0.5 cm thick, ordered medium rare came over cooked sent back but returned just the same. The meat was exceptionally poor quality. The pub is supposedly owned by a butcher - hence the name. Pity his customers if that is the quality of his meat. The staff were friendly although the young girl couldnt answer any questions without checking. I cannot think of anything else that is positive about the pub - we wont be back.

Fish sent back, not once but twice. Obviously poor quality fish straight from the freezer, not correctly defrosted. The first one was obviously raw and the second, well , it didn't exactly flake , but just turned to grey mush when the fork touched it. A smiling apology , anyone who really cared would be like the fish... gutted. The menu is basic...,, the food doesn't even reach that standard. Unlike Arnold Schwarzenegger, we won't be back.

Lovely Sunday lunch. Started with Prawn Cocktail, followed by a full Lamb roast with all the trimmings and finished off with an Ice Cream Sundae. Great friendly service in a timely manner. Perfect! And yet another great Sunday dinner. This time Turkey! Friendly staff and good service.

Visited The Butchers Arms over the weekend with my partner. The menus available had choices which were standard from most pubs, aswell as having specials for the day. The waiting staff (which seemed to be two young girls both pleasent and welcoming) were very helpful the young girl even helped me and my partner decide what to order which was helpful and what great recommendations she gave. I had pre-read some of the reviews already on here before coming and non of which matched my overall experience, chips were homemade the service was warm, welcoming and overall great and the selection of wines and beers was huge which is always a bonus. The food arrived promptly and was delicious (i had the gammon, which was cooked perfectly and my partner had the ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce which was also cooked to perfection). This was our first time visiting The Butchers Arms but it certainly won’t be our last! I would say don’t listen to the reviews and try it for yourself.

Booked a table 3 weeks before going. When we turned up the place was almost empty. We were told they weren’t doing food because the chef was in hospital. We got no apology, even though we had booked and left a contact number. Won’t ever be going again!

Lovely friendly staff, nice food

This pub is absolutely awful . What used to be a bustling pub serving beautiful food is now a dirty pub serving inedible food . I saw who I assume the landlady using the toilets as I needed to go too . No hand wash , no toilet paper . Then she served our food . I am absolutely gutted I paid for our meal . I didn’t want to upset my son whose birthday we had gone for so didn’t cause a fuss . Needless to say we all had bad tummys that night . Never ever ever again . This place does not deserve custom from anyone . I make sure to pass this review on so that nobody else makes the same mistake we did . Please please don’t bother and save your money on somewhere that doesn’t use aunt Bessie’s microwave Sunday dinners 🤮and can at least provide hand soap ! I give you another six months before you’re done !!!

I have no idea where to start… i went to this pub when it first re opened when the new owner took it on, it was fabulous, the food was great.. the staff were always friendly and place clean. Fast foward, I visited again after always being happy with my previous visits and I was utterly dissappointed. It was like a whole new ambience, we weren’t greeted the same, staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. The food was inedible, frozen veg, wet fish.. gammon and egg was over cooked. There was no toilet roll in the toilets & they looked like they hadn’t been cleaned. It’s just disappointing to see that a pub we highly reccomended to friends and family has turned out this way.

The food is just awful and we should have known when we walked in on a bank holiday Monday and it was dead ! Please don’t be mugs like us! New owners , you should be ashamed serving such crap!!

Not the best experience, went on a Sunday, food and service left a lot to be desired. No one asked if anyone has food allergies and nothing on the menu advising about allergens, also no vegie options on the menu, we had to ask. We also don't expect frozen veg when we spend £75 on Sunday lunch and who serves gravy with gamon, at least give people the choice and put gravy in a boat on the table. Needs work to bring this up to a decent standard. Roebuck serve lovely food for less.

Went for food which wasn’t anything amazing and a bit over priced. I’m usually not fussy about glasses not being spotless, but the wine glasses looked like they hadn’t been cleaned. I will try again at some point, give them the benefit of the doubt. Revisited 28/7/23 Came for lunch and sat outside as the weather was quite nice. The food was quite nice and we were enjoying our lunch, finding a baby caterpillar next to the salad on my plate was a bit disappointing but not compared to the attitude of the management. The ladies who had served us were very friendly and polite and did what you hope for after we’d let them know what we’d found. I wasn’t expecting an refund for my meal or necessarily a discount but it would have been appreciated to have received an apology from either the chef or the manager, when what were actually got was the response that it was a consequence of sitting outside. I’d be very reluctant to eat here again and although I appreciate that the incident wasn’t the worst, the attitude of the manager was very disappointing.

Well, after visiting here in February for the mother in law's birthday, and really enjoyed it we decided to visit again for a father's day Sunday lunch . A very nice welcome, drinks had a great choice, waiting on staff were nice, pleasant and efficient...... however, the food although edible, I'm sorry to say was boring, bland and tasteless. Majority of it was mass produced, aunt Bessie's Yorkshire puddings, bisto gravy, the bowls of vegetables consisted of, chopped carrots, broccoli,peas and mash potatoes. The broccoli and carrots looked like they had been boiled to death, soft soggy and limp. My beef was actually very nice and tender but it was about the only decent item on my plate. My pudding was sticky toffee pudding and custard, it was one of those puddings you microwave in it's own pot for 1-2 minutes and served with a lukewarm pouring of custard. My wife's chocolate brownie pudding was definitely shop bought and tasted bland and boring ( her words) . So disappointed after our previous visit, it's a pity as it's a really nice looking pub, large car park and beer garden, just a real shame about the standard of food which has dropped off so much.

Popped in on the way home. The prawn cocktail was warm and some reason sweet! Fish and chips were bland. No condiments on the table. Music to loud.

Went for a walk up to the Butcher's Arms for a drink with the Mrs, thought we'd have a snack and were told the kitchen might be closed a little early because they'd been so busy. Barman spoke to the chef and agreed if we got the order in quick they'd get me a dinner sorted. Ordered, the wait time was very low, food came very quickly and was very very good, highly recommend the Sunday dinner, the staff couldn't do enough for you and we're extremely welcoming and friendly. 100% would go back any time!

Phoned up the night before to check if they served real hand cut chips was told definitely yes. When we arrived we asked again are they definitely home made chips not frozen rubbish and was told yes definitely home made. 5 adults 4 childrens meals . Only one meal came with proper chips everyone else had frozen chips we asked why to be told it was the last batch of home made chips so only had enough for one plate . The rest of the food was really nice though such a shame.

Absolute gem of a place, driven past so many times but never been on, glad we did. Food was delicious the gels serving and working on were bubbly, polite and so friendly. Food was to die for as were the ales. Will be making this a regular sip off now when we are out on the bikes. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Recommended this place by the owners of a bnb we were staying at, and it was a great recommendation. The lady greeting us was lovely. She made us aware of the specials straight away which was good, and took drink orders at the same time. Menu was small, but I actually found that better as it was easier to choose from. We shared a white bait starter, and then had a Pie of the Moment off the menu, and two specials (Beef Wellington, and Scampi) for mains. All came with chips, and I was even offered more gravy without having to ask - she knew her crowd! I finished with a stick toffee pudding which was pretty big, and they accommodated my request to change the custard for vanilla ice cream. Price for all of that, plus two and a half pints, was £65. Fantastic value when we considered how good the food and service was. Without a doubt I would come back again if I the area.

Once upon a midnight dreary, my hunger grew quite weary. Ah, but then I happened upon The Butchers Arms, and my weary hunger was put to rest. The food, a masterpiece of culinary craft, was surpassed only by the service, which was truly divine. And on this special day, Mother's Day no less, they looked after us as if we were their own kin. Oh, how I shall evermore remember this night, this feast, this experience. Thank you, Butchers Arms, for a night of gastronomical delight that shall forevermore linger in my memories, like a rare and precious dream.

Great food , staff and atmosphere. Unfortunately only 1 disabled parking, the other had furniture on,which was very difficult as also on slope!

Lovely family meal, food was extremely good. All members of the family enjoyed it. The ale choice wasn't very good, a bit bland, considering the excellent breweries nearby.

First time in visiting the Butchers Arms, seems a very popular place for food it was very bizzy when we called one Saturday night food was excellent 4 empty plates excellent service from the waitresses and there prices are very reasonable. Will be visiting. Excellent.

Have visited this pub for many years,under different owners,and name,and this is the first time we have visited since we believe it changed hands recently. We are made welcome,and although the menu is fairly small,a good thing sometimes,there were choices that should accommodate most people. We went for lunch and we ordered chicken and chorizo pie,with chips,and I had the chiabata with fillet steak,loaded with mushrooms onion and blue cheese,with chips and a lovely salad. I have to say is was lovely,very well presented,hot and fresh,so we will definitely be back. There is plenty of room,and was fairly busy whilst we were there,and advised the food was cooked fresh and given a realistic waiting time,which was perfect.

Great food. We were chatting after we had finished eating, the waitress cleared everything from the table and started switching lights off in the resturant area, felt like we had to leave......it was 9 30 ????

Lovely pub, really friendly cosy nice atmosphere lovely quick bite to eat, super large Sandwich & chips just what we needed. Will be back again soon.
