Barbecued Spare ribs, House special Curry, Fried Rice and Chips Had chips from lots of Chinese takeaways round the country hmm not that nice at all. Ribs were lovely, just not really many there imo. Curry, not my taste. Fried Rice meh. Been twice now but after tonight won’t be going back.

Nice little Chinese restaurant, fairly decent value for money.

Closed whilst we were still there, and when we tried to go back they chucked us out in the middle of dinner. I’m not pleased and I would like my money back.

The best Chinese in uttoxeter. I have something new every time, and I haven't been disappointed yet. Easy to order on the phone and always prepared really quickly.

distinctly average food, poor atmosphere, ambivalent staff. My choice tasted like supermarket chicken nuggets in HP sauce. No vegetables included with the main, just jelly-like chicken with crispy coating and three deep fried onion rings! I'm not sure how this place has the audacity to call itself a restaurant, it's little more than a very mediocre takeaway! None of the other choices were any better, I think they could do with some food presentation coaching!

Good Food with lots of choice including vegetarian and vegan. Dietary preferences acknowledge such as no MSG. It gets very busy at the weekend so phone for your order early.

We went to Mr Woo's Chinese restaurant on a recent trip to Alton towers, the restaurant was easy to find and we didn't need to book in advance. Service was friendly and we didn't wait too long for the food to come out. We had soup to start, Won ton and chicken noodle, delicious and refreshing, followed by honey roast pork and pork sweet and sour, great tasty food. We will definitely go back if we are in the area.

Mr woo is a legend always keeping prices to the same standard. Delivery within about 15 minutes of Uttoxeter is free & food is always spot on! Keep it up me woo don’t change

It was New Year’s Eve and the racing had been abandoned so we were struggling for somewhere to eat, managed to get an early table in here, really nice staff, fabulous food, soft shell crab, scallops etc, would recommend.

We went there for a meal on New Year's. It was amazing service and food quality, and because the restaurant was full, the atmosphere was great.

The last few takeaways we’ve had have been awful , & to top it all had bad tummy upsets afterwards. The chips are always horrible & the chicken seems like it’s not cooked enough, such a shame as the first time we had one when we moved here was lovely, but to be honest not had a good one since & sadly we won’t be getting another

Outstanding, we ordered a family chinese. It really was the best chinese meal we have ever eaten. It was fresh, tasty, delicious and I wanted more.

Had a very bland meal, beige with no veg on the main dishes so had to order a vegetable dish. At the end of the meal I told the owner that I didn’t really enjoy the meal this time; he basically ignored my comments, picking up the plates and left. I then went to desk to pay, told another member of staff that I didn’t enjoy the meal as I paid, again I was ignored. This is probably the worst customer service I have had in any restaurant so won’t be going back.

Placed an order over the phone, like I do every week. Picked it up on time, got all the way home and parts of my order were missing. I know mistakes happen, but when I called to say I’ll come back, the owner himself called me a liar several times. Even laughed down the phone. Usually, it wouldn’t be a problem as this has happened before with them and I’m completely understanding. But to be called a liar is completely unprofessional. Will never go back which is a shame as the staff are usually really lovely as I go weekly!

Used this takeaway service many times and until recently would've highly rated it. Last two times using them has been substandard. Prior to this, our delivery was over an hour late, on top of the 1.5hr waiting time. The 1.5hr waiting time is fairly standard and we were fine with that, but the hour on top with no reason or apology was not acceptable. Tonight's order came incomplete and it took them over an hour to come and refund my money. They offered me a replacement meal which I would have had to wait an hour and a half for regardless. Unfortunately the food is brilliant but the service is terrible. Will not be using again

We had a lovely evening here with friends. I booked a table as it was a Friday and the restaurant was reasonably busy. The staff were friendly and accomodating. We shared a starter for four which is at the top of the starters menu and chose four other main courses with rice and noodles. The food was outstanding and probably the best chinese I've had for years. What a great find. They also had a "lazy susan" on all the tables. ( the spinning table within a table) which was an added bonus! I would highly recommend.

Re fried and re fried again , egg fried rice was plain boiled with a hint of egg . Prawn toast was again re fried , we took a bite each and spat it out .

Fairly priced for a Chinese takeaway given their good quality food. Not oily, sauces taste like real ingredients were used e.g. lemon sauce. Fresh vegetables used in the dishes. Can recommend the crispy chicken dishes. 30min wait on a Friday night was pretty good, but it can be longer.

To be honest the food was quite nice. We used to go to Mr Woo's on a regular basis it was cheap and you could eat as much as you like cooked fresh off the menu. The owners then changed and now it al la cart only and not cheap but the quality of the meat and prawns is good. Whilst I couldn't go every week its nice for a change. I must admit I have lived in Asia and eat dim sum more regularly than the Anglo Chinese you get it most restaurants.

The only ball game in town for a sit down chinese. Good food and service, great menu. You can also get a takeaway and a pint while you wait. Good parking as well.

The Sizzling King Prawns Malaysian style was one of the best meals I've had in my entire life. Would give 6 stars if possible. :)

We went for a meal after work and the food was okay ... Good but without being anything to remember . The place is a dull as dish water with zero atmosphere the staff were as miserable as sin ... Awful place that i would not go to again !

Visited from the states, and enjoyed some really good food, but also loved the Chinese food from Mr. Woo. It came highly recommended and did not disappoint.

The best Chinese restaurant in the area and has maintained this standard for many years. The sizzling beef Malaysia style is brilliant.

Food was great, but the service was a bit haphazard. The dishes came out one at a time, and so some were waiting to start eating. The starters were expensive too. We were a large group of 15 people, which may have been a problem for them.

We were looking forward to a nice Chinese takeaway for our Saturday night treat. Called at 18.30 advised it would be between and hour and an hour an a half, I said not a problem. At 20.15 we called to ask where our food was and were told it was just leaving and would be with us in 5 minutes well 15 minutes later I called again to be told hasn’t it arrived hmmm so I cancelled it. Thanks Mr Woo for ruining my Saturday night

We ordered at 18.30 told up to 90 mins. 105 mins later called to be told will be with you in 5 mins left it 15 mins rang again told oh isn’t it with you. So cancelled wasted 2 hours of our Saturday evening no dinner joke don’t ever want to deal with this restaurant no call to apologise

Terrible service, we have had so many issue with Mr Woos and everytime we say we won't order from them again but we have. Today was no exception; preordered on the phone and told it would be 20mins, on arrival it was then 50mins late (they often serve other customers before you esp regulars or more expensive orders), they forgot the curry sauce despite charging for it and the chicken was completely tasteless. Neither of us enjoy the meal at all, complete waste of money.

Despite booking a table 24 hours in advance, there was a bit of confusion that required moving tables. Theservice was slow, 35 minutes between starters and the main course . Unfortunately, the temperature in the restaurant was very chilly to the point where several customers had their coats on . The food was OK but the overall experience was spoiled by the long wait and cold temperature of the restaurant.

I have given this Chinese a go a few times now, and tried different varieties each time.. and time and time again they have let me down.. I find the food quality poor and as an example order a house special fried rice and basically got a tub of veg very little meat with rice sprinkled over.. and chicken balls were basically a very slim piece of chicken with 3x more donunty batter around them.. chow main consists of more bean sprouts then noodles.. this may be to people taste but unfortunately its not mine won't be returning again..

We popped in off spec on a Sunday afternoon. We have not been for over 2 years and it did not disappoint. Food quality is really good, choice great. Good choices of wine. Staff really friendly and helpful. Great value for money also.

Not up to the usual standard. Chicken chow mein was tasteless, Prawn toast did not taste right and the chicken balls had a very strange texture. The delivery person stunk of stale cigarettes which was very off putting.

Love Mr Woo’s but a small takeaway for 2 is now over £30 which is just too expensive. No offers on weekday evening meals either so eat in with a drink is over £50….. takeaway treat will now be a chippy !!

Absolutely delicious would highly recommend! We had the set menu and it was incredible value for money. The restaurant for dining in is also really nice.

My son rang up just a few hours before we wanted to go for a meal and we were offered 2 suitable times. The service was excellent. Menus were brought to us straight away as our table was ready for us. We ordered drinks and food which came quickly and piping hot. The food was delicious and although we could finish all we ordered we were offered take home boxes. Couldn't ask for anything more. Great place.

Had a beef chow mein but was 90% bean sprout. Wouldn't call it a chow mein at all very disappointed

Our first visit, first of all the food was very nice no complaints there. But in my opinion the service was poor. SeveraI communications with the waitress were taken with a nod of the head and then ignored. The bill came to the table when we were still waiting for a desert.

Great restaurant and very reasonable price. Values for money. We visit alton towers park with kids and find this highly rated Chinese restaurant on Google. We find it offers very good tasted dishes, and would recommend sizzling beef and monk fish. House special chow mein is great too. Our younger kid loves the pineapple fried rice. Several staffs we interacted with are very friendly and professional. We lived three hours drive away otherwise would be a regular. If we visited Alton towers again and will definitely come back.

We visited here after a day at Alton Towers and so glad we did. The food was excellent and really fresh. Would highly recommend.

Lived in Ashbourne for over 10 years and was looking for a decent Chinese takeaway delivered. Process was super easy... find number, ring, order, delivered. In fact it was better than that. The lady on the phone was super efficient and helpful, the order was delivered within the hour and the food was the best chinese food tasted in over 10 years. You deserve 5 stars... Thankyou

I heard from work and people from Ashbourne that Mr Woos is the best Chinese in the area. The food is always hot, right portions and value for money. I’ve been twice for takeaways and they haven’t disappointed us.

I'm not really a fan of Chinese food, but I was convinced to try a takeaway and don't regret it one bit. Food was tasty and plentiful. Only bad point was an extra 20 minute wait past the agreed collection time.

Deep fried squid was extremely dry and chicken chow mein was very salty. Pad Thai was nice

Before the lady handed me a bag of food items and repeated my order, I drove back to the resort, only to find out that the order that was read to me didn't match the items that I had originally ordered. When I phoned the restaurant and explained that I had been given the wrong order, the lady told me that I agreed that the order was mine upon collection. I explained that the order that she had rad out to me wasn't the same as what I had taken. I agreed to drive all the way back to exchange the order! Upon getting back to the resort again, my family and I were hugely disappointed. Every curry dish lacked curry but tasted of oily gravy! It was absolutely disgusting and had to be thrown in the bin straight away. Rats would've turned their nose up at it!! I don't know if this was sabotage because of my complaint about being given the wrong order in the 1st place but there was no need for that! Never again would I come here during future visits to the area! I took no photos as the food deserved to go straight into the bin and not waste my hard drive space on my phone!!

Looking for a Chinese takeaway so I googled this place and Google gave it first place in Uttoxeter From the ordering which was dealt with efficiency from the lovely woman who took my order she told me she would bring it out to me as I waited in my car and not long to wait On arrival at home the food was piping hot and the taste and presentation was excellent the cuisine was made with love using fresh vegetables and my personal taste of the duck was cooked to perfection 👍 Thanking you all for that , and I will definitely use you again ♥️

Staying at a local caravan site so tried Mr Woo's for a take away on the way back from bowling. Absolutely lovely food and we have had our fair share of mediocre Chinese and Cantonese meals. Definitely up there with the best. Satay chicken skewers were definitely on the hot side for my husband. Love the Yung chow fried rice and lemon chicken.

Had to cancel my table @ 7.30 for my Birthday dinner due to my very poorly Dog Walked up to Mr Woos and asked if I could do a take out as an alternative as it was my birthday When i got home I was Not disappointed Absolutely Delicious food , not had food like that since I visited "Wonki" in China town in London The food from Mr Woos was Amazing and I can recommend the food to anyone Absolutely Fabulous 100% flavour and taste I'll deffo be going back end of this month 👍🙂🙂🙂

In Uttoxeter, a small British town, you can never imagine that you can eat delicious Chinese food. The boss, his wife and even the staff, although relatively reticent, are actually good people.

Mr Woos is always soooooo busy but I would rather wait 24 hours for this chinese than go anywhere else. Delicious and 20% for take away!! We love to see it!!

First time ordering tonight. Huge hair stuck in chicken and another in the chips, prawn crackers all broken and in bits. Food was cold. Never again.

We had a takeaway delivered which we were looking forward to as the last one we had from there was quite good. However, when we tried the 2 person appetiser we had ordered it was as though someone had just tipped a whole container of salt in. It was completely inedible. 90% of it went in the bin. The mains was a little better although surprisingly after the starter it was really bland. Needless to say we will not be trying this takeaway again.
