Always fantastic food had one meal wrong tonight rang them chef bought the right meal out within 15 minutes fantastic service fantastic food fantastic.

Food in here is nice (apart from the fried rice is disgusting) but they need to clean the place and decorate it As soon as I walked in I could see cobwebs dangling from the ceiling Instantly put me off Place is very much run down looking Not very hygienic when it’s a food place

Ordered take away in the shop. Got back to a near by bnb 5 minutes drive down the road they had missed rice from our order, food was only luke warm so didn't want to go back just for rice. Staff seamed stressed and we witnessed staff being rude to a customer who had phoned in a order and they had no record of this. Lucky I don't live here as I wouldn't go back

This was our first time at Ruby's and sadly we cannot provide a review that is 100% beaming with goodness. Service was really good and people running it was really nice and accommodating. The food was ordered as a walk in and was cooked within 10-15 minutes. Although really speedy i think this is where the problem lies. Food was not hot when we got it home (we live about 5 minutes away by car) and all the food was bland, there was no real taste to anything besides sweet and sour sauce. Ribs in the appetiser were tiny and about an inch long.. The Singapore noodles had no taste and no heat (spice) as I would have expected. I will say however good size of potions ie chicken, beef and prawns in the mixed curry and the Szechuan Chicken was acutally very nice and the only hot (temp) part of the meal. We spent £50-£60, I dont think we would return due to the expense and the meal was not 100% satisfactory. I am only sorry we could not leave a more positive review but do feel this is balanced and reflected our experience

One of the best Salt and Pepper chicken's I've had. Hot and Sour soup superb too. Plus you walk in and get greeted by massive smiles, which is always a plus. Great little establishment

Always fast and friendly service at Ruby’s. The food is always hot, fresh and delicious and what makes it even more impressive is the speed at which the chefs work to prepare it. We often order 5-6 meals in the restaurant and we usually never end up waiting longer than 10 minutes, despite the fact that the phone never stops ringing. Personally, I think that’s incredible service, and would just like to thank all the hardworking and professional staff that work at Ruby’s for all the delicious Chinese meals they’ve served us over many happy returns. I took some pictures of our last meal from there because there aren’t many on Google Reviews and I think that’s a shame, because Ruby’s really does make some of the best Chinese food I’ve experienced. We are very lucky to have such a fine establishment in Uttoxeter.

Ordered a large takeaway for a group of us tonight- placed order at 19:35, by 19:50 was at my door. All the food I’d ordered was piping hot and tasting amazing. Usually use MR Woo but found recently it hasn’t been as good. Definitely be using again

“One spring roll, one special curry and egg fried rice” I think that’s a real simple order! It’s now the second time I’m sat here with a chicken and mushroom curry and boiled rice! I live 8 miles away so not going back now.. or ever again!

Delivery over an hour late. Called at 5.10pm to place order which we were told would be with us between 6.45 and 7.15. Called at 7.20 and was told was out with the driver. Called again at 7.50 and was again told was out with the driver. Asked if they could check with driver and call back. No call back but driver called to say he couldn't find us after offering when ordering what three words location and them laughing at this idea. Asked if maybe a £3 discount could be offered after total order was £43 was told by the driver he couldn't do that but could take the food back. Absolute disgrace and when we called the Ruby was told they got busy and weren't bothered at all. Great customer service......not. won't bother again UPDATE; received call from the manager today who was very apologetic. Very appreciative that she took the time to speak to us, thank you Ruby

Dropped in there yesterday evening for an order and pick up food was good staff were great priced reasonably good as well

The one main meal we ordered was wrong nd made my partner retch and the chowmein tasted very recooked. I didn't go at a busy time, we were the only customer. Will never bother with them again, it was foul. £20 wasted 👌

takeaway after a long days drive - we were visiting the area for a day at Alton Towers. 4 family members chose Chinese the other Fish n chips. satay was overcooked, dry and was binned. pork dumplings had an "interesting" taste - one of my sons was sick that night - can prove it was this takeaway, but everything points to it. one vegetable dish was apparently tasty, but overall very disappointed.

Always amazing food, I live nearby so order regularly and it never disappoints. The only thing that can be frustrating is that there is no option to order online and as it is always so busy it can take a while to get through on the phone but I suppose this shows how popular it is!

Great family run business serving wonderful food, friendly helpful staff.

Very pleasant staff, good menu, meal was soon done as I had opted to collect I didn't have to wait long. I normally have it delivered and that is a good service. I would have given 5 star's, but on this occasion I was given fried onions instead of fried mushrooms. Fortunately I love onions and they were delicious.

Do not order chicken balls from here unless you want a portion of undercooked batter with hardly no chicken in and then get told you are basically lying when you phone to complain, they could even have them back as they are sat here uneaten apart from the couple we tried. I certainly won’t be using here again

I am vegan. The options are amazing, but what is outstanding is the knowledge of the chef. They will call back to advise if I have ordered incorrectly. Really, really appreciate that and feel safe in my vegan choices. Will never go anywhere else.

The webpage does show a correct picture of the takeaway in Uttoxeter BUT the Order online button takes you to an ordering menu for a takeaway with the same name in Burton-on-Trent! This needs amending before someone else finds that the food they have ordered has been prepared and is awaiting collection twenty miles away! Thankfully I was able to obtain a refund from Just Eat after three weeks of efforts via Resolver. Both resaurants say they are aware of the problem but have not been able to alter the web page.

Always used to have our Chinese takeaways from Ruby tried it today after 2 to 3 year break never again. Food was terrible not worth eating. Told it would be 1.5 hrs to deliver it took 2 hours. Utter rubbish save your money,

Had a delivery tonight how rude the driver was put food on floor outside knocked the door and left so rude when you struggle to bend

Just had a sweetcorn & Chicken soup, which was lovely. Yuk sung, lettuce was in pieces, meat very salty. Two noodle dishes, both tasted singed and burnt. Chicken balls were too thick in batter. Very disappointed, paid £32.60 included delivery of £1.80.

Love the place. Can't say a bad word about it. Lovely staff, lovely food. Although sometimes I am hungry at five o clock but don't order till after six o'clock when that bollard goes down as I have to park right down he road. This is awful during winter evenings, trying to keep your food hot and is not fair on the customer or the restaurant. The bollard should come down at five o clock as that would be more fair.

I've never had a bad meal with ruby always satisfied with what I order. I've tried other Chinese takeaways in uttoxeter and none compare to the ruby. The staff are always pleasant, order with ease and food is good value for money for a takeaway. Only been disappointed once when told there was an hour and a half wait for food, but it was a Saturday and Chinese new year

Delivery was on time (asked for a timed delivery) driver really nice and the foods really hot and tasty highly recommended

Best Chinese takeaway I've ever had

we have been quite a few times for a Friday night takeaway! order is taken swiftly and correctly. food is good and we really like the house chow me in and chilli beef. Special mention to the little girls who work on the counter....friendly and accurate in dealing with orders despite ignorant people pushing in the queue or thinking a pre order means you get served first! I wouldn't like to think my wn daughter's have to deal with rude customers and they do it all with a smile! one of the best takeaways .

Ordered meal from counter at 5.30 for collection at 6.00, arrived back to collect meal at 5.50 to see second girl behind the counter saying who's is this order, to be told by the girl which I ordered with, don't know, its been there 10 minutes but it doesn't matter because its paid for. I picked up the meal, complained about the meal being cold to no avail as the girls on the counter did not care, the meal was disappointing and I will definitely not be returning!!!

The food was really tasty and good value for money. The pancake roll was delicious as was the deep fried beef and the hot and sour soup

The food is lovely even if a little more expensive than previous takeaways we've used. Always friendly service and delivery to properties miles out which is a godsend.

Past two takeaways have been horrible. The spring roll looks like the batter has been put on with a trowel and deep fried 5 times. Sweet and sour chicken no better, chicken wasn’t good at all. Also, change the water in your fish tank ... it’s filthy. Won’t be back.

Quite sad. Collected an order of about £28 tonight. First of all I accepted that they had forgotten the sweet and sour sauce for my chicken balls. But then when i tried to eat my chicken balls it seems they had forgot to put chicken in a few of them and instead I had a lump of chicken fat, stringy little bits of chicken. My starter was cold and I ended up putting my whole meal in the microwave. We won't be coming back.

Stopped here second day of our holidays and was most impressed one of the best chow meins ever had so impressed went back again staff were pleasant which always helps when you are in a strange place and trying to decide what u want

last 2 timews have been very ackward and poor.last time i went they sent my order with someone else so had to wait whilst the other person bought it back and to be honest felt uncomfortable eating it as anything could have happened but felt i had to.time before that sat for 10 minutes whilst they argued with a customer over free prawn crackers, FFS it is just petty actions really, reward your regulars.the quality of the food is definitely hit and miss, sometimes cold, sometime funny tasting like it is off. So after nearly 10 years voting with my money and going elsewhere. Seem obsessed with making profits over quality and service

We regularly purchase from here either via delivery or collection. The food is always hot, delicious and delivered fast. No card payments but there's a cash machine down the road.

Again a superb meal! We always try to order something different from the menu and everything was delicious. Our favourite Chinese in town. The smoked chicken is a particular favourite or ours and the Singapore rice noodles 👍🏻

Takeaway was delivered to the house nicely packaged and hot. Polite and efficient service from start to finish. Food was delicious as always. Tender lamb with spring onion and ginger, love the fried noodles. Some lovely Thai curries to choose from too.

Have normally used this Chinese Restaurant as it was just about better than the other Uttoxeter Chinese takeaways. In the last 3 to 4 months there has been a huge improvement in the quality and tastiness of the meals, really is one of the best Chinese take aways we have experienced. Whereas they typically used standard sauces and then added warmed up cold slices of meat, the meat is now properly cooked and browned, the sauces are spot on, very enjoyable.

After many visits to the Ruby I found our last takeaway from here below par. It was a shame as all previoús were full of flavour and very filling. This visit was very tasteless all round. We will go back but if it is not improved we will be looking elsewhere. Come on back to normal please.

Probably the most popular Chinese in Uttoxeter, but not brilliant, they mainly reheat cold sliced meat in their meals, I personally only enjoy the curry. I don't why they cant wok fry the meats.

Since my last review of this restaurant, in which I had been charged an additional fee when I came to collect my vegetarian meals for substituting meat for tofu and veg, the management has responded with an apology and has promised to stop extra charges for substitutions such as those I regularly make as a vegetarian.This brings it in line with all other restaurants that are willing to make adaptions to cater for dietary requirements, but is a good sign of a business that values and is willing to listen to their customers (even if they refused to at the time when I was showing my dissatisfaction at the counter) and accept when their practices are not ideal and to then adjust them to improve.Ruby's has been a regular little treat for my family and we do all enjoy the food and the generally reasonable prices. They have never got an order wrong so far, but I cannot comment on delivery as we always collect.The published veggie options are alright, could do with a real alternative to meat (pulses, beans, chickpeas, etc.) instead of just mixed veg as otherwise we miss out of a lot of protein, but you get that problem anywhere really, and they seem to do veggie versions of the all/most of the main dishes, which is good.As far as Chinese food in Uttoxeter goes, ruby's are good, consistent and relatively well priced... Worth trying if you haven't before.

After placeing an order to have it delivered when it turned up an hour later it was the wrong order. Phoned up and they refused to send another one out.
