A lovely little pub with garden cabin rooms. There might be rooms inside but mine was in the garden and it was lovely. My only tiny quibble is that there wasn’t a curtain/blind for the small window on the front of the cabin, but a well placed cushion and lamp soon sorted that out! Quiet area, friendly staff, nice food and perfect for my business trip. Will definitely stay again.

We were visiting friends in Suffolk and needed somewhere nearby and this fitted the bill. We stayed here last year and found it great. This year was no different indeed the owners have been busy making improvements. The bars have been tastefully decorated and the rooms very comfortable and clean. Very impressed with the ample breakfast. Staff very friendly. They have just started doing a carvery on a Sunday which is proving popular. Can highly recommend for a visit either to stay, enjoy a lovely meal, or just a casual drink.

I stayed in one of the ‘pods’ beside the car park. It was very quiet, bed is comfortable and I had a good rest. Excellent breakfast, served by friendly a helpful people. The only gripe is how small the shower room is, it’s functional but very small, the sink in particular. But the shower is nice and hot and it all works. It’s easy to visit Aldeburgh and other surrounding places from here and I bet is a lot cheaper than staying in Aldeburgh.

We revisited this pub very recently and were pleased to find that, although now in different hands, the food is as good if not better than before. We chose from the lunchtime menu, yet to try the evening fayre. Our choices have ranged from the basket meals and toasties through to the baked potatoes and they were all excellent and reasonably priced. Drinks available included two real ales and again, reasonably priced.

We were going to Suffolk to see relatives after Christmas and was looking for a pub with accomodation and this fitted the bill as it was close and in a nice village. The room was lovely, very clean and warm. It had tea/coffee making facilities and beautiful bed linen. We had breakfast in the pub before going off to the relations. We came back late in the evening and had another good nights sleep. We went for a light breakfast before leaving for home. I can thoroughly recommend this pub. Very friendly staff and pleasant ambience. We will go back to explore the villages and sights nearby which include Woodbridge and Aldeburgh

Stayed with family members for a Christmas meet up. Great place to stay with a group. The room was clean, modern and well appointed and breakfast was superb with plenty of everything you'd expect. Sausages and bacon were particularly tasty! Everyone was really friendly. I'd certainly recommend the Butcher's Arms.

We really wanted to go for dinner on Friday evening but circumstances changed so we called to see if we could collect dinner if we ordered from the menu. The enthusiastic lady on the phone (Sam?) told us it was no trouble, the full menu was available and I could collect our order in 20/25 minutes. I duly collected food at the agreed time and returned to the cottage. The food was fantastic, it was served on china crockery as in the restaurant and came with all the dressings and condiments. The presentation was amazing despite being a 'take out' a lot of trouble had been taken to ensure our meal looked and tasted exactly as if we'd been in the restaurant. It was so good we repeated the experience 3 days later, the quality of food and service was again excellent. We returned the crockery the following day, the owners who run this pub really go the extra mile - outstanding. If you're in the area I'd highly recommend it.

We tried a couple of pub/restaurants around the area but were not doing evening meals, we knew the Butchers was on our route so popped in to see if they were serving. So pleased we did as they welcomed us and having a Coeliac with us was catered for with no problem. The lovely Sam told us that the chef had made sure the utensils were scrubbed and cleaned before cooking the gluten free order. When it arrived it looked perfect. In fact all four meals we ordered were delicious, so were the deserts I might add. The pub was fairly quiet except for the locals, there was music playing in the background but not so loud that it caused a problem. I can honestly say that it was a pleasure to have eaten there and would highly recommend it.

Nice not over fancy but well cooked meal. We had sea bass so easy to over cook but it was just right, and chicken also good. Lovely chocolate orange sponge with ice cream too.

Visited twice now on a 4 night stay in the village. We will be back tomorrow night. Ian has looked after us so well. The chef produces gorgeous home cooked food. Last night we had salmon and liver. Tonight lamb suet pudding and slow cooked pork loin. Piping hot. Huge portions. With lovely, perfectly cooked vegetables. Served with huge smiles and amazing tasty home cooked food. Superb Guiness (according to my husband) lovely Aspell and very tasty Malbec. Very friendly locals, clean, superb Covid procedures. Felt very safe. Thank you Butchers Arms. See you tomorrow night

The best toasty I have had in years. Cheese and ham good but the bread is homemade and crips up to take the toasty to another level. Thank you very much!

If your looking for a real sandwich with good fillings then this is the shop for you. Having visited on many occasions I have never been disappointed. The staff are all friendly and more than willing to help you choose from the exhaustive menu. You will never be disappointed. Don’t look anywhere else. Victorian Beach Hut Penelope

Brilliant little gem of a rustic themed tea room in the heart of the East Suffolk Coast area of outstanding natural beauty. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. Coffee choices were great and I'd recommend to anyone in the area hiking or visiting to book in. Walk up is available and in the warmer months they have a small garden with seating. Dogs are welcome inside.
