Popped in with my 7yr old son for a quick drink before going trickle or treating on halloween. My son asked me if he could play pool and immediately the landlady snapped at him,he touched a halloween decorating and she snapped at him.... Then she swore at my son and his friend and told me to control them because I pool chalk was knocked down a pocket. I was told to leave as I confronted her about swearing at my son.. Horrid woman. Unfriendly, miserable and socially awkward landlady, avoid.....

Wow and wow if you have a big appetite for a traditional cooked Sunday lunch this is definitely the place to go,I kid you not this has to be the biggest Sunday roast in Somerset, we arrived early for our 1.30 booking in order to have a drink beforehand, I had a san Miguel which was perfect a really nice pint. Once we arrived there was a small que a gentleman jumped behind the bar instantly and assisted the landlord, we sat down ordered the beef and the pork roast with all the trimmings, it arrived in good time with excellent service, so apart from the fact the dinner is massive how about quality, good portion of meat cooked nice, beef was a bit chewy pork was good not dry,the veg carrots cut too thin and over cooked could do with being thicker or batons, lots of cauliflour cheese however it did lack the cheesiness seemed like straight out of a packet sauce but not too bad, parsnip was nice roast spuds were a bit small, lots of mashed potatoes, gravy was OK could do with a bit more flavour, overall the two lunches were worth a visit and we would definitely go back.

Recomiendo al 100%!! 06/2022 - I should come here more often than I do. The beer is always in prime condition, the staff affable and the food beyond reproach. On this particular Sunday, I stopped for the Sunday roast. The lamb was a trifle more done than I prefer, but I was late in the day. However, the presentation was superb- they do things a 'little differently' at the Butchers Arms. Over the years since living in the area (since 1991) I've only stopped by at this tavern on occasion, noticing as I did so each time, a change of management. Other than by a few local die hards, it didn't seem all that popular. A recent visit specifically to scan the certificate of the Cask Marque Ale Trail. The establishments who qualify for this accreditation, are amongst the top 18,000 of some 50,000 who can guarantee a perfect pint - most, if not every time. Again I noticed another change of management and there's more enterprise in this new team. New outs tables front and back, an outside bar to the rear a bit more spic and span and it's far more patronised now than on any of my other visits The beer is still deserving the Certificate and the menu has extrapolated with a quantum leap and there's quite a few novel dishes. Sunday Roast is a very popular, a reservation affair, if you want to be assured of a table. This tavern, on my way home (the pretty way) has become a regular repeat visit.

Good hard working community pub. Popular with locals; always something on. As a CAMRA groupie, can't say the range of ales sets the world on fire, but the inevitable Butcombe is always well kept. Haven't eaten, but suspect the fare is good. The Butchers is the sort of place we need to support as pubs like this are disappearing fast. Respect.

We were looking for a pub lunch stop off on our country walk. We’d passed this place a few times as we were staying in Timsbury so thought we’d give it a try and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly. We had booked a table inside but decided to sit outside as the sun was shining. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious; my friend said it was one of the best burgers she’d ever had, I had the warm bacon and chicken salad which was delicious and a side of chips which were fab. We really couldnt fault this place and it felt like it had a real personal touch. Whilst we didn’t sit inside it was a cosy country pub type feel. Everywhere very clean too. We would definitely visit again, in fact we have been trying to see if we can squeeze another visit in before we go home!

Over the years since living in the area (since 1971) I've only stopped by at this tavern 'on occasion' - it always seemed a trifle 'cliquey' on these visits, but the big brass divers helmet was a good talking point.I made another visit a month or so ago specifically to scan the certificate of the Cask Marque Ale Trail. Those establishments who qualify for this accreditation, are amongst the top 10,000 out some 50,000 who can guarantee a perfect pint - most, if not every time (the barrel does run out eventually) The absence of a fifth star is only because the two beers served here this day, were Doombar and Bass - neither of which are on my top three score list. However, the Bass was perfect and there will be many another visitation of this nature, because many of my house guests are also 'on The Trail' - and coming from Kent, Shropshire, Hampshire and London, they wont have THIS one scanned yet.All this is but leather and prunella, for my latest visit, occasioned for the need of lunch and the power outage in my neighbourhood requiring I seek it elsewhere, I find myself in the Butchers Arms. And happy I am to be so, Helena whom I've known from other hostelries was in charge of the kitchen (superb sausage, egg and chips - chips to die for) and Mari, head girl behind the bar (now a blond, previously known as a redhead elsewhere) was dispensing the perfect pint. This tavern is definitely on my regular repeat visit list.

I'm a frequent visitor to bristol airport, as my partner travels for work, so I'm often there to wait for his flights to come in. Unfortunately, there are very few options for anywhere to sit while waiting, other than cafe ritazza. Because of this, the cafe area is always busy, and all the regular/normal seating is always taken, so I have to try get my 50+yo arthritic, short arse up one one of their many Eiffel tower height stools, and if that's not hard enough, the darn things also swivel! No wonder all the other seating is always taken, and all these 'make yourself look like an ungainly idiot' seats are always free in huge numbers. Please please please cafe ritazza, rethink your seating options. Not everyone is an 8ft tall gymnasts.

I’m a travelling Australian and got excited about some home-style food but this was so bad. The rice clumped together like it was days old, the kale was discoloured and the serving size was pitiful. Could have made something much better myself for far less than the £15 I paid for this and a mediocre chai. Service wasn’t even friendly. I’m only giving it 2 stars because I had a juice there a few days ago and it was pretty decent - otherwise it would have been a one. And - on the plus side it didn’t taste terrible but the rice was a bit suss.
