Admittedly I haven't been here for a while, and it is actually quite local to me, I promised a friend of mine a decent pint sitting in front of the beautiful open fire they used to have in the bar but was immensely disappointed to find it not there anymore. It used to be so welcoming and quaint, the comfy rustic furniture has gone too, now its gone it's just a run of the mill boozer like all the rest, i drank my pint and disappointedly left, probably in all likelihood never to return, all the character that made it stand out has gone. Shame.

Visited here today for a Sunday carvery. The staff were very welcoming, the food was lovely except the meal was very cold, which was rather a shame as there were so many vegetables to choose from. We will definitely return, but hopefully the meal will be hotter next time. ,

We stopped on impulse on our way through Burton Fleming on seeing the Sunday Carvery notice and we enjoyed a memorable meal. A choice of four meats along with three different potato types, roast, mash and new and some eight vegetable options. The value was tremendous and with starters and desserts also on offer. A good drink choice was also available. The staff were friendly and obliging with good sense of humour, none more so than Sarah. Definately a very good choice.

visiting family living in burton fleming wanted a trad sunday lunch paid first visit to burton arms what a super quality meal for a very reasonable price was surprised not busier, the portion sizes amazing and all fresh - they need to market themselves perhaps.........our only negative was the back ground music was not really ideal for a sunday lunch period - just a minor detail

We stayed in Burton Fleming for a week and this pub was recommended to us by the local butcher as a good place to eat Sunday Lunch. The meal was absolutely amazing, with lots of choice and all beautifully cooked. The staff were friendly and if they had served food during the week we would have gone back for more. Only wish we lived nearby!

We met here with family and friends for a cold buffet following a funeral. The food was great and endless hot drinks were also included in the very reasonable price. Any requests were met with a friendly face, our hosts could not have done enough for us. We wish you well with the opening of your new restaurant. P.S.The Wold Top beer was excellent!

As previous residents of Burton Fleming who enjoyed many happy hours in the restaurant and bar many years ago, we wish the new Management all the very best in their efforts to 'drag' this Pub/Restaurant back to its former glory, it'll take alot of hard work .............. .......we were visiting friends one weekend in early Spring 2013, and popped into BA early evening, hoping once again to enjoy a few drinks and good food. Dogs were roaming about all over the place, the tap room resembled a kindergarten, much foul language was permeating from the tap room (there is no door between tap room and lounge bar), all the staff were based in the tap room bar and had to be summoned by a bell for service in the lounge bar, the restaurant was closed! What a shock, perhaps our problem was, we should have been wearing 'rose tinted' spectacles like other reviewers obviously had done! Definitely not deserving of a 5/4 rating - we hope all the residents of Burton Fleming will 'get behind' the new owners and they in turn will listen to all their customers needs and be successful in delivering a Pub & Restaurant of a high standard with a welcoming and warm ambience for all who choose to visit which will become once again the focal point of village social life. As far as catering goes, exciting varied menus for those who prefer to eat good Restaurant fayre, along with traditional 'pub grub' served in the bar areas at economical prices.

Yet another visit for Sunday lunch. The chef still works really hard to produce good, wholesome honest food at a great price. As always, the portions are generous and the vegetables are fresh and hot and cooked just right. The rhubarb crumble was excellent and about four times the size of a certain celebrity chef`s version not many miles from here. The Burton Arms deserves to be much more popular than it is. Long may it continue.Do yourself a favour and visit soon.

I first came to the Burton Arms for a family meal on Mothers Day 2012, The Staff were really friendly and welcoming, and very child friendly! My younger siblings are fussy eaters and the Head Chef was accomodating to them and another customer who I overheard saying she had a wheat allergy - not a problem The Chef cooked a special request just for her. Great value for money and plenty of variety, having a 2 for £10 menu which I've tried numerous times. I have to reccommend the Lamb Shanks out of everything, it's mouth wateringly tender and a good sized portion. The beer selection is also quite good, with most lagers and Beers being under £3, but after one of the Chef's sizzling curries it's well worth the money! The Landlord and his team did amazing to keep the Burton open after all the flooding in the area, and their newly refurbished restaurant is something else, for the pub or the restaurant I'd argue this is one of the best Pubs in East Riding and if I don't like a restaurants food I make sure they know!

We visited again today for the fifth time for Sunday lunch. The menu is always changing, apart from the staple roasts. Today we had a pigeon breast starter which was a meal in itself. For the main course, we both chose lamb stuffed with fresh crab meat and a huge pudding to follow. Plenty of hot fresh vegetables, friendly service, huge portions for each course. Brilliant value. It's nice to stagger away from a pub having had a meal that will last you all day. There is a fancy restaurant in Malton that has beautiful food but you come away wanting to find some fish and chips. The Burton Arms provides good imaginative food to file you up at a great price. Please go if you are in the area.

I am very suprised after reading your other reviews I think they must be reviewing somewhere totally different! My experience with a party of ten people children included was AN EXCELLENT EVENING OUT. The menu was varied offering traditional and unusual dishes, all food was cooked to perfection, good service, friendly atmosphere, very children friendly as the children did not just have the usual cheap and unhealthy options but could have a smaller version of anything offerred on the menu. I would totally recommend this place to anyone wanting good food at a reasonable price, we are definitely going again. The only downside was having enough room left for dessert!

Really enjoyed our meal here. Excellent landlord - very switched on to customer needs. It's a traditional Wolds inn which has retained its character though the dining room could do with lightening up a bit. Food traditional and good although, as they were breaking in a new chef, there were no specials. This was no problem as the menu though short contained sufficient choice.Cost was reasonable and service was first class.Worth a visit.
