The Bulls Head & Lodge in Trafford

I am diabetic I ordered a very weak line and soda. The amount of line cordial made it undrinkable. We offer roast beef Sunday roast. Within 3 minutes of ordering the meal it arrived. To begin with I thought I had ordered soup there was so much busy gravy it was swimming in it. The Yorkshire pudding was dry and stale the parsnips I had one tiny slither two hard roast potatoes and uncooked broccoli. Diners beware. You’d better getting a Birds Eye frozen beef in gravy. £48.00 for dreck.

I was at the pub not accomodation. The staff in this pub are great . Really helpful and polite. The lady who maybe is the manager , is brilliant. Attentive , friendly and efficient . The food is good and restaurant standard.

Only stopped one night, for the airport early next day. Nice place, very accomodating, sort you an early brekkie if you are out early. Will use again.

Very comfortable, clean room with good bathroom (overhead shower in bath was great). Good supply of teas/coffee with fresh milk available in fridge by reception. Very good night's sleep. 1/2 star knocked off as service at breakfast was not ideal...we were just shown to table and asked to place order. Not informed that cereals, juices and yoghurt were available in the room next door! And unfortunately, no marmalade available (or so we were informed!). Will definitely stay here again. No hesitation whatsoever in recommending to our fellow travellers!

Standard pub, standard food but with Hale prices. Upsides... the staff were nice and it's dog friendly.

We arrived at the last minute and David ensured that we were comfortable and everything we needed. The meal was enjoyable as was the service from Evie. We were greeted by a smile and offered excellent service

I held my daughters 21st Birthday party in the upstairs function room. It was absolutely perfect! A great size room for 30 family and close friends. We had a delicious buffet and ice buckets of prosecco, wine and beer in the room. David our duty manager looked after us brilliantly, going above and beyond to check that we had everything we needed and that the whole evening ran smooothly. Would highly recommend and will happily use again.

We held Dad's 90th birthday party on Sunday 29th Sept and it was fabulous. 30 family & friends gathered in "The Snug" to celebrate and eat together. We opted for menu E buffet which was delicious, well prepared and set out. They catered for gluten free and dairy allergies so noone was worried. A very special thanks to Dave who managed the event& was incredibly helpful going above & beyond to make it special. Also big thanks to the other staff for looking after us so well.

I stayed here for 3 nights to be near my training academy. So glad I stayed here. Lovely decor, very clean and friendly staff. Pub next door is great and convenient. Can’t fault it. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay there again .

I had an excellent experience during my visit, largely thanks to our waitress, Sophie. She was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that nothing was too much trouble. Her positive attitude and dedication to providing outstanding service truly stood out. With the example she sets, I believe she deserves a leadership role. Thank you, Sophie, for making our meal so enjoyable!

Excellent hotel and pub in a great location with very friendly staff.

There was no one at reception to check in with, after calling, had to go to the pub to ask someone. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room very nice, only critism was heavy dust on the fake plants. Breakfast was fantastic. Had an issue getting into my room, but maintenance staff quick to arrive and sort it out.

Amazing Service from Evie & Steven, very attentive and helpful.

Called in for a couple after a hard day's graft, we earned it! Very large pub with plenty of outdoor seating at the rear and as with all Robinson's pubs everything was clean and in good order . The staff we had dealings with were chatty and pleasant and the beer ,dizzy blonde up to the mark. May take the missus there one day.

Just returned from a lovely stay at the Bulls Head , friendly efficient check in from IAN , our room was lovely and clean the bedding clean and fresh , everything you need for a comfy stay , tea/coffee with fresh milk , great power shower and lovely toiletries . Breakfast was wonderful and the service from FAHIM & TERRY was excellent , the breakfast chef CRAIG did a super job of my poached eggs & avocado with smokey bacon mmmm. ALL ROUND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED GREAT JOB TO ALL .

Bland roast dinner. No taste . "Supreme" chicken not ..."rich chicken gravy" ..no chance more stock. Roast potatoes need steak knife to cut. Lacked seasoning .

Great looking pub in an affluearea ,down side no sky sports because they don't want a certain crowd but hey ho had a great night before flight next day ,great bar service and had a great meal hosted by Sophie who had a great personality and looked after us very well who went above and beyond, but as a hold all staff were pretty good and we will definitely think of the bulls head for future stays before flights ✈️ 😀 Mr and Mrs power

We did not use the Hotel but had a delightful meal in the Bulls Head, we were waited on by Sophie who was first class and is a credit to the Bulls head. The food was excellent, we will certainly be returning as we had a delightful evening.

The food and the service was amazing I recommend. My server Vicki was so kind and welcoming.

I have stayed at the Bulls Head twice and unfortunately the latest experience (in April 2024) didn't meet expectations. I had opted for a cold breakfast as I was running the Manchester Marathon and so needed to be out of the room before hot food was served. Not only was an item missing, but the yoghurts provided were more than a week out of date and there was nobody at the reception to raise it with. I emailed the pub afterwards and never received a reply nor apology. Not hugely happy with the service, which is a real shame as the food is really good (and the pub is dog friendly!) and the rooms are comfy

Food was amazing and what made it better was Vicky. Vicky was really lovely and was amazing looking after us with drinks and food. Overall, an amazing meal and amazing day out.

I booked a family meal in order to spend time with a family member who was visiting from abroad for 24 hours. Due to issues on the motorway, a number of family members were delayed. David, the manager, was absolutely amazing. He was so friendly and helpful throughout our time at the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was first class. We will definitely return to this restaurant. I would highly recommend.

I called in for dinner yesterday evening to be met by a lovely gentleman David he showed us to our table and made us feel very comfortable our meal was delicious David sorted our drinks quickly then checked if our meal was ok over and above a very nice relaxing evening thank you

Went for a meal with the hubby last night, was greeted by a lovely man called David… we were escorted to our table where this gentleman was very attentive, asking if we had allergies or intolerances to food, we didn’t but it was good to ask.. we got served and fed in a comfortable time giving us time to chat and enjoy the food and the atmosphere.. Well done to this gentleman he made our night being so attentive.

Lovely venue for a Sunday lazy breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere with nice staff. Offering a good choice of cooked breakfasts and buffet options. Their full English / Welsh breakfast was fantastic value and tasted great! Highly recommended and worth a stop.

Booked 1 night B&B following recommendation from friends with 14 nights car parking whilst abroad. Manchester Airport car parking has worsened in recent years so we were looking for a suitable alternative. I'd highly recommend this accommodation for the high standard of comfort with gorgeous room decor. Complimentary toiletries in the bathroom were not regular but seemed quite high end. We were late checking in & early checking out but the night clerk took our breakfast order which he delivered promptly to our room. Lovely crockery & cutlery & good selection of food available. Convenient location for quick transfer via taxi to the airport. We were upset we didn't have longer at this gorgeous place & will definitely be visiting again! Highly recommended 👌

Really disappointed with our recent visit for Sunday lunch. I had booked over a week in advance for a table of 8, for a family get together. Upon arriving, we were not greeted by any member of staff although there seemed to be a lot of servers just milling around talking to each other. After becoming tired of waiting, I then approached a server and they went to seat us, only to take us up upstairs for our table to be given to another family, one of the waiters asked if we could move back downstairs, but this would cause hassle for my elderly grandmother going back down the stairs. We were stood in the dining room aimlessly until one server used their initiative and pushed two smaller tables together… not a great start! Once seated, the server stated that multiple food choices were unavailable due to selling out which is disappointing as it was only just after 5 o’clock on a Sunday afternoon. Once we did order, the portion sizes were less than generous and items were either missed off (onion rings from the burger), or late (sides of chips/calamari). The desert was also less than impressive and looked as if it had just been slopped on the plate. This was also missing ingredients. Not once did a server check in with us to ask how our meal was going or if the food was up to standard. To make it even worse, three out of the seven family members have experienced food poisoning through the night after eating the chicken. Very poor experience. We have loved coming here as a family over the years but sadly, our experience yesterday has left us utterly disappointed.

Popped in for the car show, bar was rammed and nobody knew who was next. Tried to order food, but nobody came after 15 minutes, so walked out.

Great location to go to Britfest. Great pub and restaurant. Only downside was we were told breakfast started at 7 on Sunday. Was we were getting a flight that morning it was quite important but breakfast actually started at 8. We had it the day before and it is a good breakfast.

Bathroom wasn’t clean with a dirty floor and the back of the bathroom door is filthy. Breakfast was a joke really. Got there at 9.45 had to await for a table even though there was only 3 tables with people on . Sat down to a dirty table and the staff member said he would clean it in a minute. After ten minutes wait we was asked if we would like some coffee then only to be served with coffee and had to wait 5 minutes for cups, still sat at a half dirty table when the waiter came for the breakfast order I had to ask them to clean the table again. Breakfast came and was missing items on both of them. My wife ordered smashed avocado with chilli flakes and I had the full breakfast. The avocado came sliced and not really ripe with no chilli flakes and mine breakfast came with no black pudding or toast. Yet again we had to go and look for staff to tell them. And from coming in to getting breakfast it had taken 45 minutes. Not impressed with the visit at all this time 🤦‍♂️

Nice fish and chips kids and main

Just visited the Bulls Head, and can honestly say the service was terrible. We waited over an hour for our meal, and when asked if we could have the child's chips as soon as possible, we were told no. Onion rings stone cold, no coleslaw. Will not be visiting again

Room was lovely and very clean. Only thing that let it down was the grouting between the tiles in the bathroom needs to be looked at as it was black around the bath. There was someone at the desk when we checked but there were a lot of times when it was unmanned. When we were in the pub /restaurant attached to the hotel we witnessed the female manager being rude / impolite to both staff and customers.

Went for a drink with an old friend I hadn’t seen for 40 yrs and 3 weeks got a carpark fine for £100. At no point did any staff ask me if I had parked in the carpark. Typically I don’t scour pub carpark looking for parking signage, particularly on a dark wet evening. I will never ever visit a Robinsons pub ever again, they don’t deserve to be in business, an utter disgrace.

Held a family party here at The Bulls Head. Staff were super helpful, meal choices were correct and delicious. Luckily the sun was shining so we had use of the outside terrace. Rooms were perfect.

Stopped for breakfast on the way to Manchester Airport. Far better breakfast than any airport restaurant offers. Will definitely be back.

Big portions of food and friendly staff!

Faultless!! Steve the server was so kind and courteous what a lovely guy! The food was incredible! We couldn’t help but have 3 courses!! The chilli beef was to die for!! My friend had the steak and ale pie and it looked delicious! Creamy mash what more could you want! It was so hard to choose the menu was so varied and so many delicious options! You have to try the chicken salt fries! The lunch menu looked amazing aswell so will definitely be returning… probably next week! Great atmosphere lovely staff and 10/10 chef! Best dinner after a long day at work!

Myself and a colleague were in the area on business and decided to meet up for dinner. The Bull's head is close to the airport and the motorway and seemed ideal. We had a pleasant evening, the bar was busy and the food was standard pub fayre but pleasant. So far, no complaints. However, 19 days later a received in the post a fine from SMART PARKING for £100 (£60 if I paid straight away) for having the audacity to park on the pub car park while I ate my meal in the pub! At no point did any of the staff ask if I was parked in the car park or ask for my registration details (apparently this is the procedure if you wish to bring your car to the Bull's Head). In another similar comment about the parking scam, the management say the parking procedures are clearly displayed in the car park. It was dark and raining and, frankly, when arriving at a pub for a meal, I tend not to enquire about the parking charges. Maybe I'm old fashioned and out of touch. The management also distance themselves from the fines by saying the car park is operated by SMART PARKING and, by implication, the car park is none of their business. However, there's clearly a commercial relationship between the Bull's Head and the company operating the car park on their premises. I'm sure some of my £60 fine will find it's way into the till along with the receipts for the food and drink. Pubs in the UK are closing at an alarming rate due to high costs, taxation and a general decline in pub attendance and it's understandable that publicans should seek to maximise income. However, rinsing customers with a car park scam does not seem, to me at least, the way to go. I've paid my fine and I won't be returning for seconds.

Came here for food prior to airport departure. I had the burger, just a cheap burger, looked very “came out frozen” rather than a proper patty, £15 was well overpriced. Wife had crispy chilli chicken, not that amazing and not that crispy. Asked about fish and chips and how big fish was, waiter used his hands in the international size of a fish language, great big enough for both kids to share. Came out was 3 frozen fish gujons. For £9…. I asked waiter as said fish and chips “sorry must have changed” No requests if we wanted more drinks, nobody asked if food was ok. Won’t be back….

I felt very welcomed, room was clean and breakfast was lovely. I enjoyed my dinner and had no issues parking. This was a business trip but will be using this hotel for future airport visits

we ordered 3 meals 2 lamb cofta which arrived with red blood on inside - and it took 35 mins to do again then we ordered 3 custard puddings and custard was not warm it was my wifes birthday the lady manager offered 1 free pudding ( £5 -50 ) it total we spent £90 we will never eat at Bulls Head again

We stopped here for a meal on our way back to Swinton from a funeral in Llandudno (29.01.24). First time visiting, but we will definitely be back. As soon as we stepped in the door, the welcome was amazing. The food was delicious and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Thank you.

Popped in for the first time yesterday and was very impressed by the cleanliness, the food and the service. Reasonably priced and the portions were a good size as well. There are also treats for your furry friend in the bar area.

We spent one night at the Bull's Head Lodge . The room was clean, well equipped, warm and comfortable. Excellent service and breakfast at the Bull's Head.

Chose this pub as it is dog friendly, we usually call frequently in the Summer as the pub has a nice beer garden and the food is OK. Big mistake it is the most unfriendly pub I have ever visited. I phoned to see which were the dog friendly part of the pub to be told the bar area and the snug. The same day on arrival was told the snug was closed due to renovations !! We were going to eat but ate at the March Hare Cheadle which was genuinely dog friendly, when we realised we had to sit on a stool with separate tables to eat on. The Duty Manager ( who was really rough round the edges) was so rude in the middle of the pub shouted across the room to keep our dog on the lead. My husband had arrived to the pub after myself and my cavapoo and went to the bar on arrival and the dog slipped her lead and followed him. Needless to say we then left. I have to say the bar staff were lovely, I hate to think how she speaks to them. The most unfriendliest "dog friendly pub" I have ever come across with the most rude manager ever. She was more suited to speaking to the two elderly "gentlemen" who were obviously regulars, that were effing and jeffing throughout and not one word was said to them

Enjoyed our stay at the bullshead, comfortable room nice and warm, we enjoyed our meal in the bar fish chips,steak pie chips very tender meat. Staff very friendly wonderful full english breakfast next morning. 10/10.

Visited this local pub for some authentic British pub grub. Hugely disappointed with the menu and thereafter the availability of items in the dishes. Tremendously over priced just due to its location in this leafy high end Cheshire suburb. For a Sunday early evening meal, I ordered the vegetarian roast, chicken for the wife and Macaroni cheese for my son. Once the order was taken we were told by the staff after 5 minutes - no parsnips so will be replaced by Yorkshire pudding and no Mac n cheese. Was asked to choose something else. Once the food came, the gravy was tepid and chicken dry. Cabbage was soggy and roast potatoes under cooked. Due to this skipped the dessert as didn’t want to get further aggravated. Finally, at the time of the bill got charged for the Yorkshire puddings even though was initially told they were replacements. My six year old sighed at the end and signed off with - “I am never coming here again”!!

We booked to stay at this "hotel" for a family occasion across 2 nights, booking 6 rooms per night. Prior to coming we checked with the hotel who confirmed the bookings. Upon arrival they had unilaterally cancelled some of the rooms meaning that we could not stay the 2nd night and had to vacate our room on the morning of the first day, meaning we had nowhere to go and relax the whole day as a result they succeeded in ruining our family reunion and our weekend Shambolic ! Never again would I stay in a place where they do not honour bookings.....

We were staying locally before an early flight from Manchester Airport and decided to go to this lovely pub rather than eat at the hotel restaurant and we were so pleased we did. The steak pie was large and really tasty. Fish and chips well cooked and Sunday roast really good value. Such a shame we don’t live locally to enjoy this welcoming pub and restaurant more often. Great service, great food.

Absolutely awful. Very poor service. We were left waiting at the bar for a very long time,being totally ignored while the staff was serving other customers,including some who came after us.Unfriendly staff who can even be bothered to talk to you or make eye contact.

Absolutely lovely Sunday roast! We had 3 beef and 1 pork roast and all were delicious. The pub is so cosy with a friendly atmosphere and offers tv screens for watching sport. The service is very good - in particular Chris is so welcoming. Staff like him make the visit to the pub very pleasant and worth revisiting.

What a shame! The pub is beautifully decorated and feels cozy. Then after waiting for a while after ordering, the food arrived… lukewarm plate of food, oldish therefore not that crispy anymore roast potatoes, undercooked vegetables, 2 huge slices of tasteless beef. Only nice thing on that plate was the Yorkshire pudding. Considering the price and quality, it is quite safe to say that we will not go back! Very disappointing as the place has huge potential (I bet a drink in the summer out in that beer garden is a joy but without eating though)

Went for dinner last night - what has happened to this pup it used to be amazing - gone right downhill - food was average at best. Mine was luke warm my friends was stone cold had to go back twice to kitchen and in the end the replaced it - that took 30 minutes. Won’t be paying to eat there again

The Bulls Head is a great venue to host an outdoor summer corporate family fun day. The manager and duty manager were been nothing short of brilliant! Exceptional hospitality, service & food coupled with a perfect venue - a great time was had by all our colleagues.

Very warm welcome from seemingly happy staff. Incredibly dog friendly. Restaurant was very nicely set up with a good menu of well prepared food. Hotel was very clean and comfortable with food facilities

You only get 20 mins car parking free although 24 hour car parking is provided for all registration plates input on the tablet in the entrance way to the restaurant. Friendly and professional staff well trained. The Sunday roast beef and lamb were superb with enough veg and LOTS of gravy. 3 large slices of beef were provided so my wife ended up leaving one slice a just too much meat although well cooked.

Very nice location, 20 mins by car to Man. Both hotel and pub were super cozy, personnel very friendly and we’d totally come back any time here

My partner and I visited for a Sunday roast and it was delicious. I had the roast beef and my partner had the vegan but roast. The beef was nice but the star of the show for me was the Yorkshire pudding! Huge and superbly tasty - so much so I ordered 2. The gravy was rich and I'm glad to say there was plenty of it (as a northern gal I love lashings of it) and all the food was hot and tasty. I also ordered a side of cauliflower cheese which was massive. Great portion sizes indeed. My partner said his nut roast was lovely too. Liv served us and was polite and helpful. I'd recommend visiting here and will be popping back for dinner again.

A warm welcome, smiles from the staff and great food, couldn't ask for more. On a damp Saturday lunchtime, the restaurant was warm and welcoming, as stated above, service was with a smile, and the food was faultless. Great stuff and look forward to returning soon.

Booked here for my dads lunch, specifically because of how accomodating staff have been in the past when when my family (including my 10 year old son who is autistic), have visited before. Could not fault the welcome & service we received. Ordered birthday cake from the list of suppliers on their website which was absolutely stunning. I ordered mashed avocado on toasted ciabatta topped with smoked bacon and poached eggs with chilli flakes. I received sliced avocado on toast. The bacon was overcooked and the eggs tasted of vinegar! My friend ordered the full English of bacon, sausage, black pudding, baked...
