I’ve just had a lovely second stay at The Bulls Head. Rooms are lovely with nice touches like bottles of water and biscuits. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated with comfy beds. Staff are very friendly and we had a nice breakfast in the adjoining pub. It’s a little gem of a hotel in a lovely area. I look forward to staying again.

Excellent stay & breakfast. My room was lovely - spacious with a big, comfy bed. It was clean & in good condition. The soundproofing was very good, and they had soft-closing doors, so no loud banging. The shower was great & plenty of hot water. Tea, coffee & biscuits, and there were extra refreshments, including fruit in reception which you could help yourself to, which was an extra I don't normally see & I really liked! The breakfast was really good. One of us had bacon, egg & avocado on muffin and the bacon was beautifully cooked with crispy edges and the eggs perfectly poached. I had the French toast with Greek yoghurt which was gorgeous! All the staff were friendly & helpful. Highly recommend!

Stayed for one night while visiting family in the area. I booked this hotel based on all the glowing five-star reviews—and honestly, I don’t get it. I paid £126 for the night, and in all fairness, it wasn’t worth half that amount. My first impression was a surly-looking young man at reception who communicated in little more than grunts, gestured vaguely towards an iPad for me to register my car, and then flung the room key in my direction. When I asked where breakfast was served and at what time, his response was simply, “In the breakfast room,” with no further clarification or directions. The room itself was clean, but the mattress was rock solid. There were no power sockets by the bedside, except for an outdated USB-A port, which no modern device uses. Worse still, the socket had a blindingly bright LED built into it, forcing me to pile up clothes on the bedside table just to block the light. I decided to grab a quick dinner in the pub section of the hotel. If you imagine a slightly upmarket Wetherspoons, you’ll get the idea. The food was fine, and there was a decent selection of drinks. However, service was another story. A gormless young man was serving our table, and most of the tables were reserved for a quiz night. When I asked if there were any available tables, he just stared at us blankly—no exaggeration, for a full 30 seconds—before his brain seemed to reboot and he asked, “Do you have a reservation?” Eventually, we found a place to sit and got our order in. When the food arrived, one of the orders was wrong. The same dazed young waiter stood there, plate in hand, staring at me for another 30 seconds before finally realising he needed to go back to the kitchen to fix it. When he returned, he’d forgotten to bring us any cutlery. I understand that mistakes happen, but this lad was in serious need of a wake-up call—or, dare I say, a bit of pride in his work. Overall, The Bulls Head didn’t live up to the hype. The room was overpriced, the service was lacklustre, and the experience left me wondering how it had racked up so many five-star reviews. Would I stay again? Not a chance.

After we left the other a comment what a nice atmosphere but the food was not good. They also mentioned the grease I won’t be going again and would advise caution if you dare. You will find prices to be from 12 to 15+ for the meal which is why I expect a lot better

I have stayed at the Bulls Head twice and unfortunately the latest experience (in April 2024) didn't meet expectations. I had opted for a cold breakfast as I was running the Manchester Marathon and so needed to be out of the room before hot food was served. Not only was an item missing, but the yoghurts provided were more than a week out of date and there was nobody at the reception to raise it with. I emailed the pub afterwards and never received a reply nor apology. Not hugely happy with the service, which is a real shame as the food is really good (and the pub is dog friendly!) and the rooms are comfy

I booked a family meal in order to spend time with a family member who was visiting from abroad for 24 hours. Due to issues on the motorway, a number of family members were delayed. David, the manager, was absolutely amazing. He was so friendly and helpful throughout our time at the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was first class. We will definitely return to this restaurant. I would highly recommend.

Went for a meal with the hubby last night, was greeted by a lovely man called David… we were escorted to our table where this gentleman was very attentive, asking if we had allergies or intolerances to food, we didn’t but it was good to ask.. we got served and fed in a comfortable time giving us time to chat and enjoy the food and the atmosphere.. Well done to this gentleman he made our night being so attentive.

Lovely venue for a Sunday lazy breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere with nice staff. Offering a good choice of cooked breakfasts and buffet options. Their full English / Welsh breakfast was fantastic value and tasted great! Highly recommended and worth a stop.

Traffic an issue as there are road works in the area. Not an issue with the pub but a problem getting there.

Booked 1 night B&B following recommendation from friends with 14 nights car parking whilst abroad. Manchester Airport car parking has worsened in recent years so we were looking for a suitable alternative. I'd highly recommend this accommodation for the high standard of comfort with gorgeous room decor. Complimentary toiletries in the bathroom were not regular but seemed quite high end. We were late checking in & early checking out but the night clerk took our breakfast order which he delivered promptly to our room. Lovely crockery & cutlery & good selection of food available. Convenient location for quick transfer via taxi to the airport. We were upset we didn't have longer at this gorgeous place & will definitely be visiting again! Highly recommended 👌

Had a car show here earlier for charity and we loved the setup and the way management treated us was superb. Sorry edited this because I had to finish it and sent it incomplete by mistake. My experience was brilliant. Thanks again. 😊

Really disappointed with our recent visit for Sunday lunch. I had booked over a week in advance for a table of 8, for a family get together. Upon arriving, we were not greeted by any member of staff although there seemed to be a lot of servers just milling around talking to each other. After becoming tired of waiting, I then approached a server and they went to seat us, only to take us up upstairs for our table to be given to another family, one of the waiters asked if we could move back downstairs, but this would cause hassle for my elderly grandmother going back down the stairs. We were stood in the dining room aimlessly until one server used their initiative and pushed two smaller tables together… not a great start! Once seated, the server stated that multiple food choices were unavailable due to selling out which is disappointing as it was only just after 5 o’clock on a Sunday afternoon. Once we did order, the portion sizes were less than generous and items were either missed off (onion rings from the burger), or late (sides of chips/calamari). The desert was also less than impressive and looked as if it had just been slopped on the plate. This was also missing ingredients. Not once did a server check in with us to ask how our meal was going or if the food was up to standard. To make it even worse, three out of the seven family members have experienced food poisoning through the night after eating the chicken. Very poor experience. We have loved coming here as a family over the years but sadly, our experience yesterday has left us utterly disappointed.

Popped in for the car show, bar was rammed and nobody knew who was next. Tried to order food, but nobody came after 15 minutes, so walked out.

Great location to go to Britfest. Great pub and restaurant. Only downside was we were told breakfast started at 7 on Sunday. Was we were getting a flight that morning it was quite important but breakfast actually started at 8. We had it the day before and it is a good breakfast.

The food was barely warm & the cheese & onion pie was cold & hard definitely won't be going back, seems like they have kids running it now who are probably paid peanuts.
