The Bulls Head Innkeeper's Lodge Meriden Restaurant in Rugby

Had a lovely meal with the wife. Great food - I had the chicken skewer starter and pork and scallops main, would have both again. Relaxed atmosphere which I like so a really enjoyable night.

We checked into the Bulls Head to meet up with family for a weekend. Our welcome. was quick and painless, with no warmth or welcome. They offer a fast checkin email service so all our details, car reg etc has been provided before hand. It had been a long day, we were tired and just wanted to get to our room, shower and relax. The room was just off the courtyard. I can honetly say I have never been in such a dark, cold room. It consisted of one small window in the corner of the room with windows opposite overlooking the bed, so curtains had to be closed for privacy. Lighting was depressingly dark. To cold to shower, was able to switch on a heated tower rail, but it was not enough to warm the room. Outside music was audiable the whole weekend, even though nobody was outside on Sunday evening the music played until after 10:30 and when the music went off the constant droning from a fan upbove the building took over and kept going all night. We requested extra pillows which we received and advised the room was cold and was told the heating was on a timer. Pillows were dumped on the bed in a plastic bag, nice touch would have been to place there on the bed???? We had to get into bed to get warm. Sheets were threadbare in places with holes. No room service the next day to change the towels, make the bed or replenish the coffee. By this time we were starting to feel like the forgotten guest. On a plus we went to the bar for coffee which was nice and hot in a comfy atmosphere. Had a family dinner for 9 which was good but not great, If you don't mind part cooked parsnips and food that really should be served hot. We did have a dirty burger in the evening, not our usual meal but we wanted something hot and quick. It was tasty. One thing you would expect when paying for a room is to be warm and comfortable. We were neither. Couldn't wait to leave. Which we did very early the next morning.

Booked for a late Sunday lunch, everything on the menu was available. We had the scallops & the goats cheese to start, both very nice then we had the roast beef & trio of roasts, which were very generous portions & very tasty, we also had an extra jug of gravy. Delicious. Bradley & Morgan were excellent. Will be returning very soon.

Great venue for a Monday night quiz. Great atmosphere and the food and drinks were amazing. Will definitely be returning on Monday nights

Really really enjoyed visit, we all had Sunday roast, they were fresh, hot and very tasty, enjoyed by all. We all had a different dessert and they were all great. Very good service too.

A revisit this month was fabulous again. Couldn’t fault the food or service we experienced, each time we come we really enjoy our meals and experiences. Consistency is key and the Bulls head always delivers

A fantastic spot for lunch- we had the set menu and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The steak sandwich was wonderful.

Warm, cosy, relaxing & very festive. Lovely real fire creates a warm welcome & a relaxing atmosphere. We opted for the Festive Menu this time & it was very very good. Bradley was amazing & his recomendations fabulous. If you haven't been here before, give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Stopped in to my favourite pub again for a lovely dinner by the fire. Brad was a gracious host, and Jake served up some fantastic cocktails. The festive turkey dinner was divine, thanks to chef Jo. Can't wait to return :)

We came to try their new winter menu and was not disappointed, the new dirty burger with the cheese and extra beef was loved by all. Drinks were pricey, but everywhere is these days

Request seating you want is the biggest tip I can give as we were escorted to an awful position with chairs too low for the table cramped next to the stairs to the hotel. Didn't help we were next to a cackling woman who was so loud... jeez! Meal was fine but the experience was a little naff due to where they sat us.

Food okay, but not worth the hefty price tag. Extremely disappointed with the tall bar lady (brown hair in a bun) who delivered some of the worst service I have ever been subjected to in all of my existence. I have never been made to feel like more of a nuisance in a pub - felt extremely unwelcoming and almost hostile towards us for something as mundane as trying to pay the bill. Will not be returning.

Been here a few times now, as we like it so much & we were greated warmly by the staff. It's really nice when somebody remembers you, it makes you feel valued as a customer. We always start with a cocktail & finish with a cocktail, which are always delicious & the food in between was simply amazing. We were served by Bradley who is knowledgeable, friendly & polite, an absolute credit to The Bull's Head. I'm sure it won't be too long before we come back!

Went to Bulls Head with friends on Friday 2 August. It was not busy we waited for half an hour for our drinks order to be taken my drink was not what I ordered waited another 15 mins for it to be changed. I had the chicken dish, very poor quality, expensive and not worth the money. Staff were very unfriendly. Went to the bar to have service charge taken off our bill, may as well have been invisible, had to get waitress to do it in the end. Our waitress was friendly and polite but the poor girl seemed to be doing all the work. Woukd not recommend this place

We had a great meal here last week. Lucy and her team made us feel so so welcome, our whole family really enjoyed the long afternoon we spent here. The lunch time menu was great value, the steak sandwich was a highlight for me.

Aayush & Charlie very friendly, helpful & looked after us very well. Lovely place, dog friendly, which is a plus, spacious, nice background music. Plenty of outside space/tables. The food was tasty & hot & good choice on menu. Will definately come again.

Amazing dinner, we went off the wine and dine menu and our meals were fantastic. The rimapere sauv blanc was delicious and the desserts on offer were amazing. Hats off to the chefs and waiters who looked after us

It was my brothers birthday and we had been to David Austins Rose Garden for the day . We returned via the Village of Meriden where we called in at the Bulls Head Hotel for Dinner to end a great day, Both Sean and I were very impressed with the service we got and the lovely a la carte dinner we had. We got the the venue at just after 5pm on Friday 5th July and had dinner just after 6pm in the restaurant. The food was first class better that a 5 star hotel we had been to in St Pancreas in London. Sean had the grilled prawns on the specials board and I had the goats cheese starter. We both had the lamb in red wine gravy and then Sean had the cheese board and me the trio of deserts. Both of us did not have alcohol as we were not up for it and I was driving the Non alcoholic drink selection was copious Sean had two pots of tea he loves a cuppa.I have to say the food was exceptional and the staff nothing was too much trouble . Can we please thank the lovely lady who set up our tab and the young man who served us both of them made Sean and I most welcome. I had passed the Hotel from 1985 on the bus from Birminghanm and had always wanted to go in . It was so worth in . It was not stuffy or formal The bose music system was excellent and the background music perfect . Thank you all but particularly the two people I have mentioned we were Tab 9 . As it was spur of the moment too. We loved the time we went as it was quite too. 10/10 on all accounts .

It was an amazing night out with the family, owen was a perfect host and my steak was perfectly cooked. Would highly recommend this place, best in the village.

This is by far my favourite restaurant & we try to come here as often as we can. The atmosphere is always welcoming & relaxing This time we chose the scallops, which were cooked to perfection as was the steak. What a fabulous idea to have a cocktail with your dessert, I haven't seen this on any other menu. We were served by Bradley who is very knowledgeable, helpful & friendly. Went on Friday last, had 2 fish and chips the fish was rank!! Wet and had a funny smell. Left most of mine and we have had upset stomachs ever since. First time I have been able to leave the house today. Monday 12 Will not recommend or go back again

Booked a table for 8 people and I have to say we had a very lovely experience. The food was top notch and the service was fantastic. The restaurant was at full capacity when we arrived and left but this did not affect the fantastic service. Really pleased we booked and we will be booking again soon.

Went out for Mother’s Day, the food was amazing and the service was even better. Ram who served us was just brilliant, couldn’t do enough for us and was great with our little one too which made us feel at ease.

Staying at a hotel nearby whose review will be nowhere near as favourable, I decamped to the Bulls Head which was a five minute walk away. Friendly staff, well kept beers, and the food was very good. I had the chipotle chicken and the steak and Malbec pie, both were very good and my only negative would be the main course, the portion size of the mains was miserly. Shout out to my server for the evening, Joel, who did a great job and just needs a little more work on his banter/people skills, he came across a bit reticent at times bit that comes with experience and coaching.
