Hilltop Garden Centre in Rugby

Disappointed is an understatement! No wreaths, no real trees, nothing like it use to be when you walk in usually 100s of different coloured baubles but not now, there is still some lovely things in there but just didn't have that wow factor like before.

Many products and prices are affordable.

Porciones de tamaño infantil, tenían pollo frito del sur con papas fritas. El pollo era del tamaño que pusiste en una hamburguesa y unas 12 patatas fritas, ¿el precio? 99 , absolutamente asqueroso, sin sabor y las patatas fritas eran horribles . Evitar como la peste, también £ 5. 00 por una olla de té para 2 de la que sacaste 1 taza con esas horribles leches de cartón. Las mesas eran pegajosas y no estaban correctamente limpias también.

Excellent breakfast (breakfast batch superb value) to set us up for some garden bits. Lovely Christmas shop was also visited.

An excellent garden centre and more! We bought some beautiful good quality plants,had a fab lunch and bought some handy bits and pieces. We will be back....especially for the Christmas goodies that were just being put on display. Still good to visit...fab egg custards-they're huge!

Nice garden centre which includes a lovely cafe with a good menu and the food was lovely

I really like this place. It's not part of a chain so a bit different to the usual. That said, obviously there are quite a few items you will find at all garden centres. It's not as big as a Blue Diamond or BGC and you won't find clothing, or much of a selection of food and homeware. Outside, the choice of mature trees was possibly the best we have seen and looked very good value. It's not lacking in garden plants but there's not as many as some centres. Again the prices were very good. Good offers at the moment on water features, there's also hard landscaping and good quality timber products. There's a very good play area for younger children, picnic tables etc. Good for us was a large area of maintained grass for the dog to stretch his legs, and he can also go into the under cover area of the restaurant. We ate here and enjoyed our shared meal, prices are quite reasonable compared other garden centres. The locals will know all this but we made a trip from Dudley hoping for the best and we weren't disappointed.

Excellent garden centre with a good variety of gardening items at reasonable prices. Had lunch in the café, which was very good and also very fairly priced. Clean and airy centre with friendly staff. Will definitely be calling here again. Well worth a visit.

This Garden Centre has a good parking area, trolleys available and lots of lovely items to buy: from household goods and gifts to a great variety of good quality plants, and many other gardening supplies. I could have spent a fortune! 👍🏻

Great selection of horticultural hardware and plants. Staff were helpful and polite. Small children’s play centre and picnic area situated outside. Didn’t use the coffee shop. But will update when I return.

If you want it, then I am 99% sure you will find it here! Amazing range of furniture, flowers, pots and everything you need for your garden and home. Wide range of compost, gravel, and supplements for helping your garden bloom! Some of the most beautiful hanging baskets we have seen in a garden centre and the attention to detail is amazing, no dead plants, everywhere clean, shelves well stocked and helpful staff. Huge car park and if you’re lucky you will see a gorilla and a panda in the beautiful garden area. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Went today to buy summer baskets and plants for tubs. Ended up just buying compost. Not impressed by the poor selection of bedding plants available. Must say this is unusual as I have always been more than happy on previous visits. Ended up going to Planters. Maybe slightly more expensive but so much more choice.

Cara triste 😔. Hilltop ha sido nuestro destino durante muchos muchos años. Lo he visto crecer en el negocio que es hoy. Pero cuando pedí ayuda, para encontrar algunas plantas amantes de la arcilla. Me lo dijeron los primeros caballeros. ¿Él preguntaría? Y así lo seguí. Que te digan. No tenemos nada para ti???????????!!! Ummmm. Así que dejé este segundo caballero más maduro. Oh sí £ 170 más tarde nos fuimos a casa, con nuestras plantas amantes de la arcilla. Oh para añadir insulto a las lesiones. Los jóvenes caballeros nos sirvieron. Y ahora que el marido sea su MATE. LO QUE PASÓ CON LA CORTESÍA (BIEN VISTO LOS HERMANOS NO ESTABAN EN TIRO DE OREJA.

El desayuno fue muy decepcionante. El tocino era graso y generalmente caro. No he estado por un tiempo y con llevar amigos conmigo. No creo que vuelva a desayunar allí. Ahora la ensalada de jamón es increíble, de nuevo, ¿por qué han aumentado tanto los precios.

Always place to go for all garden needs.Cafe is just amazing with fresh baked cakes & pastrys daily. We always go to the cafe on ours visits. Sometimes we come away with nothing lol but full bellies. 🫶

Perfectly layed out plants and centre a little on the expensive side but that's of unusual things to purchase.

Very well stocked with plug plants. Lovely cafe. It's the change of the seasons so some of the area's were being filled as expected. A wonderful selection of all types of plants. It beats some of the larger garden centres by miles. Spring is coming, so are the plug plants. Lovely selection of hanging baskets.

About 5 pounds per plant cheaper than dobbies.

Good selection of plants reasonably priced helpful staff

Lovely garden centre, plants are laid out in sections which is great for a novice gardener. They looked healthy and a good range and variety, a little expensive but what isn't these days! Low mark due to the cafe. The staff were friendly but the quality of the drink and food was poor, maybe a place to try for just cake and a soft drink. The coffee was weak and watery with little taste the bacon roll was something I'd expect to buy from a roadside food van. Greasy, cheap bread and fried. I'd definitely visit the garden centre again but not the cafe. Updated went yesterday, as before plants /look/staff are very nice, great selection of plants and shrubs and they look healthy, from previous purchases they last well. The cafe is shocking, no improvement and the quality of the drink was still poor. Although I didn't purchased food, there looked to be no change in quality there either, still looks like a roadside burger van quality, but boy one change is the extortionate pricing!! I'd rather pay those prices at a retail chain not an independent with poor quality product. It's the one element that let's the place down.

Just been to Hilltop garden centre, this revue is for the cafe only, Absolutely shocking £7.99 for a bowl of soup, £9.99 for a bloody Baked Spud,who on earth with a brain would pay for that, Totally a Rip off

Lovely place , a massive variety of plants , solar lights, garden furniture, and garden maintenance. There is a cafe that is very popular . I visit Hilltop throughout the year . Chritmas is extra special.

Been coming here since i was little, it’s a Gem, full to bursting with wonderful things for inside and outside the home. Christmas time is always lovely. I’ve got some of my most prized Christmas decorations from here.

Garden centre is very nice and well stocked. Much better value than some. Cafe may be nice but you have to be there at the right time, woe betide you if you try to order food when the staff are on their break.

Hilltop is a lovely garden centre. Great selection of plants and landscaping materials. There is also a nice choice of "home" stuff inside. Water features to photo frames. The cafe is also good with excellent cakes! Definitely recommend.

Interesting to walk around, but it is an expensive shop. For example, a 2.7m garden umbrella, of modest quality, is £30 more expensive than a 3m, better quality one I found online, which also has LED lights, and fee delivery. Prices seemed steep for almost everything I looked at.

I visited today 11.02.24 to buy a plant for my mums 60th birthday. I hadn't a clue about plants so it was hard for me to make the right choice. I was served by a fantastic and very knowledgeable member of staff named Grant. He took his time with me choosing the correct plant and explained everything that I needed to know. I was only intending to spend around £50, after speaking to Grant I spent £65 but the choice we made together looked absolutely stunning. I'm sure my mum will be overjoyed when she sees my purchase! Thank you Grant...

Loads of plants, cheap pots aswell which is a bonus as well as cheap seeds which since wilkos demise is a rarity. Toilets are always clean. the only thing is that during Christmas time (starting In about September), the indoors area is mostly Christmas items lasting through to mid January. There is a cafe but we have not visited it.

Lots to see. On the expensive side but that's garden centres . Car park very busy (always busy as the cafe is frequented by a lot of the more mature people in the locale, ) always make a visit at Christmas as they have a lite of Christmassy stuff to buy.

Price of food in cafe little pricey, Hence Breakfast batch/ roll 2 items cost £4.50,, then after breakfast finished they call it a Brunch batch/ roll 2 item's cost £5.99,, both same ,,Don't know if mistake or profit making ....

So when you arrive, you go to the cafe to order the food. Now before you order, stand back and wait for a few mins. Watch the staff clear the tables, empty the unfinished food into a bin, some use their fingers to assist the stuck food! Next, watch those same people unload the dishwasher and put the clean plates and cutlery away. Then those same people with their dirty fingers who have handled your clean cutlery, start to serve the food to your table!! Not once did I witness anyone wash their hands, not even using some handy hand gel!! If any of the staff on the Saturday I visited have a Basic food hygiene certificate, I’d be amazed! Go on, stand back and watch the display of bad food hygiene at your leisure! But eat at your peril. I witnessed all this after my son had eaten his fish and chips, I had a drink and a rather tough and chewy custard slice. Ps The chips tasted cheap and horrible. We won’t be going back again….EVER.

Took our small dog to hilltop garden centre like many more people and ask where the dog area was in the cafe and got told to sit in the field we thought it was disgusting and every one who was there with dogs thought the same ,9 out of 10 people have dogs now and would like to go round garden centre with them and stop for coffee hilltop is the only garden centre where thay don't want or let dogs in there cafes disgusting will not be returning

Went for coffee,as always clean pleasant surroundings. Staff polite. They are ready for Christmas. Seems like a good selection of Christmas things.

Made 40 milles to go there after work, got there half hour before closing time after 15min the staff start to turn the lights out, so we couldn't even see properly what we went there to buy. End up spenting 12£ when what we want is around 90 to 100£. I think it's extremely disrespectfull when a customer is looking into something and the lights are turned off. And then they complaint they don't sell... thumbs down to the staff or to the managment if that's the company policy 👎👎👎

It's worth a visit it's expensive, the food is OK nothing special the ingredients to my family seem to be basic ,we went on sat and the front glass on the cakes was all steamed up it didn't look nice ,staff on the counter were nice and pleasant, ps notice some plants that needed looking at .

Hair in panini. Staff didn’t apologise. When we got a new panini it was tasteless and the hot chocolate was warm water.

What a fabulous place. We have been to many garden centres lately but this probably takes the prize. Incredible Christmas displays. And a vast array of gardening paraphernalia, plants and shrubs. The food was fabulous in the café. Loos clean. Plenty of parking. Don't miss it.

They are very colorful, it makes your home a place of celebration. Christmas is all about the receiving the joy &hope what God has given to us through Jesus and His unconditional love. How can anyone charge £4.50 for a peice of average slice of cake, absolutely a rip off, a beautiful garden centre especially in the summer, but the cafe is very expensive, be warned
