Visited at the weekend. We had the large cooked breakfast and from the specials board the ceaser salad wrap and chips. The breakfast was great, good quality produce, tasty, plenty of food well presented and more than enough for my husband. My wrap was lovely and was accompanied by coleslaw (which I think was homemade, certainly far nicer than what you by at a supermarket) and chips. I visit here regularly and the food is always lovely but the chips deserve a special mention as they are always perfect, and well seasoned, a great treat if I am having them instead of the breakfast which is a hard decision to make. Highly recommended again and a beautiful setting to relax in.

Visited today for the first time and it’s a great setting and lovely to watch the swimming and fishing. Went in for breakfast and was very surprised at the high prices but wanted to give it a try. It wasn’t massively busy but there was a slight wait, that is fine but when the food arrives and my full English breakfast is cold and the only warm item was the beans I was disappointed. I had my children with me and they both had scrambled egg on toast. We added a hash brown charged at £2 for one making it £8 for a single slice of toast and a small amount of scrambled egg. We requested a well done egg on the breakfast batch and that also arrived runny. We didn’t want to ask for a replacement as we didn’t want to wait again. Overall lovely location and worth a visit but the prices are too high for what you get there’s no reason to charge £2.50 for a can of pop.

When you approach this establishment you drive through what appears to be an unkept unused and unacceptably disorganised farm yard, full of ancient, neglected farm machinery, some the correct way up, some on its side. We wondered what we were driving into, the approach must be about the worst entrance to a cafe I have ever come across. Reaching the cafe we sat outside and ordered coffees, when they came I was totally disappointed as there was at least 1 inch of froth, when I scooped the froth away the coffee tasted very weak, too much milk and not enough coffee. Anyway, each to their own, so if you like a coffee with an abundance of froth, and you don’t mind driving through very unkept farm yard look no further you have found your paradise

Guessing here hasn't been open long as the length of time for just two coffees (20mins) is far too long. Otherwise enjoyed the visit.

Beautiful place, very relaxing and clean. Food was overpriced for what it was. The service was polite and friendly but took a very long time. Saw some waiting 20 minutes for a cake, we waited a lot longer for ours. Whilst I appreciate its cooked fresh, it was much longer then anticipated.

First time and the surroundings are beautiful, a hidden gem with many lakes. As we approached the cafe we were greeted by 3 goats snoozing, one of them on one of the outside tables looking out to a lake. OK if you don't mind that sort of thing. Order 2 breakfast, absolutely lovely, 10/10

We ordered two jacket potatoes. Neither came with the correct fillings. One came with an extra filling, which was ok, the other was completely wrong and had to go back. The result of this was that we got our meals at two completely different times. Staff bring each meal out and ask who ordered it, there is no system of table numbers. It all seemed very amateurish. Food was nice (once it arrived). Food is a bit overpriced in my view. Setting is great, had a nice short walk round the lakes in the sun.

Lovely cafe in a tranquil spot, we sat outside overlooking one of the lakes, as long as you don't mind goats and ducks it is nice, inside there are more tables and chairs and toilets. The food was excellent. I think the fishery is closing which is a shame instead there is open water swimming. A bit off the beaten track but would recommend

I’ve been here twice now and I’m not too impressed with it. The menu is very overpriced, and the food is below average. Nothing special. You also have to ask permission to go on a walk around which I find really bizarre. The scenery is nice but there’s literally nothing to do other than walk…which you can’t even do without permission…

Called in for a bit of lunch with my wife, ordered bacon, cheese, and mushroom toastie, wife had a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich plus two teas. Well it took an hour to receive the food only to find that my toastie had no bacon in it , so back it went to be replaced, 30 minutes later it arrived the bacon inside was comprising just the dry burnt ends of the grill no slice of bacon. After a second complaint we were offered a slice of cake each, not a good idea for two diabetics. And who serves a toasted sandwich with half a plate of crisps . the experience was very poor indeed.

This cafe is like no other , the surroundings are stunning and the food is great quality. The setting you can't buy , I personally recommend my favorite the hand made beautiful cup cake and homemade quiche 😋 Being a very big coffee critic the quality of coffee bean is one of the best I had an oat milk latte. This is a must visit if like me you enjoy an escape from the rat race of life. Can't wait to get back there again.

We were really disappointed . We had Prawn Cocktail starter but no Rose Marie. Dinner was served it was barely warm having just carrots as fresh veg rest was tinned or frozen. Yorkshire Puds were frozen . Saw everybody else's Yorkshire's looked amazing but ours were like cardboard frozen! Gravy was warm. Pork was belly pork cheapest cut of pork of all. I ask for horseradish and apple sauce there was not enough for one person let alone two people. Cauliflower Cheese was half empty costing £8 for 2. We complained and it was deducted from bill. Far too expensive for what it was. Supposed to be Dog Friendly, no water offered but told to take my dogs outside for drinks in case floor gets wet!!! No doggie treats offered !!!!! I don't call this dog friendly !!!!!

The food was very nice, when it eventually came. We waited 1.15 hour for it. Also, we had booked a table, luckily there was one table left when we arrived but no sign of a reservation, just lucky it was free. They said there were staff shortages that day, but others have said service is very slow. I think there was just one person in the kitchen, preparing everything. I don't think I would return, however it is dog friendly which is a plus for me. I think it would be OK if you just wanted drinks.

We'd heard good things about this relatively new cafe at the fishery. We ordered two breakfasts, a jacket potato and a sandwich. The breakfasts were both very good, quality ingredients cooked just right. For £10 it was good value. The jacket potato was large, perfectly baked with a large amount of filling and fresh salad. The sandwich had fresh bread and plenty of filling. We also had some carrot cake and caramel shortbread. Both were good but not exceptional. Overall, it was very good in a nice location. On a better day, weather wise, there are plenty of walks around the fishing ponds.

Food was awesome very tasty and quantity was good too I had a steak and Stilton pie was so tasty and had some big chunks of Beef in it, plenty of homemade food to choose from. Steak was cooked perfect another family member had. Any advice I would say order something the chef has to make homemade because he's good. I wanted to try about 7 things but I'm glad I went with the pie because it was so homely and delicious. Can't recommend enough

Wednesday 2/4/2024 7pm. The beef looked great but it lacked taste and was very chewy. The Turkey was acceptable I guess but very ordinary. The Yorkshire pudding had obviously sat under the hot plate for too long and was brick- like and inedible. The rest of the vegetables were more or less ok but the cauliflower was under-cooked. The service was also ok but we were let down by the food on this occasion.

A gem of a pub that has a great selection of ales and beers. Staff were happy and nothing seems too much trouble. The new menu is just what the pub needed and the Sunday Lunches are even better than they were.
