I have visited The Bullshead twice in a week and it is OUTSTANDING The menu is a selection of small plates but the portions are big and great value The food is fresh and tastes fantastic we had 2 plates each and the costs were £10 each The staff are very knowledgable and friendly.Highly recommended it and may it continue ,we will definitely be going back

My first visit to the Bulls Head and I had a great experience. The food was Excellent the Staff were friendy and very efficient. For sure I will return even though i dont live in Surrey. Keep up the good work.

We stayed at The Bulls Head after the night out visiting The Surrey Fashion Week at Hurtwood Park Polo Club. The room was very modern, clean and spacious. There is a good sized bar/restaurant and plenty of outside seating to enjoy the Surrey Hills area. The staff are very helpful, friendly and attentive to all of your needs. Highly recommend for a drink and food, it was absolutely delicious home made quality. We cannot wait to return soon! UPDATE: Visited again for a relaxing weekend gateway and again the place is absolutely superb. Food is five star, rooms spacious and clean and the staff ever so nice. Can’t wait to visit again! Had a lovely roast dinner here with my elderly dad. The food was delicious and a good variety of vegetables. The staff were lovely, welcoming and helpful. 100% recommended.

Had a bite to eat here at 1 pm on a Saturday lunchtime, whilst I waited for some European colleagues who had gone out for a country walk in the area. The food was so ridiculously good, that it was hard for me to recall a Pub / Gastropub meal I’d had in the last few years, which bettered it. The Haddock and chips, and a Starter (I used as a side) of Halloumi were so exceptional I was really highly impressed. Trio of ladies handling the bar and restaurant were so remarkably friendly and efficient. Highly impressed by this venue. Really very remarkable indeed.

Lovely 'plates' and friendly service

Stayed here as I was attending a party nearby. I'd happily have stayed at the bar. Lovely place. Friendly welcoming staff. The room was lovely. Very comfy. Everything I needed. Couldn't get a taxi to the party venue so the landlord gave me a lift. Can't get better than that. Lovely location as well.

This place was absolutely amazing. We stayed in the family room, a big comfy bed and two singles in a beautifully decorated room. Really quiet at night. The bar and the breakfast room were lovely places to be. Breakfast was help yourself continental with a whole plethora of options. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again.

Had a fantastic overnight stay here. The room was lovely, fresh & modern with a very comfortable bed. The food was more interesting than the usual pub fare and really well cooked and presented. Breakfast was a buffet and was also extremely good and we appreciated the care out into it especially the cafetieres of coffee. The staff were all amazing too. If I sound very enthusiastic that's because we couldn't fault the whole experience. We booked direct with the pub and got a really good deal too.

After a very warm welcome we enjoyed an excellent birthday lunch. It was all excellent and the staff, particularly Molly, outstanding. Well done everyone at The Bull's Head!

Really excellent food - more interesting than other good local pubs like The Parrot in Forest Green. The menu focus is small plates with a great variety, and each one that I have tried over 2 visits has been excellent, but they also do burgers / fish and chips for anyone who wants a pub classic. Well done! As other recent reviews have said, it’s wonderful to see the new management make a success of it. It was a bit noisy when we visited - but it was a Saturday before Christmas and so lots of celebratory groups were enjoying themselves. The staff proactively tried to find us a quieter table which was thoughtful.

I’ve eaten twice at the Bull’s Head since it came under new management and I must say it is now my favourite pub for food in the area. The small plates are so delicious and varied. They also have fish and chips / burgers for those that want the classics. Bravo!

Our first time back at the Bulls Head since it was taken over. Complete transformation for the better. We all had a Sunday roast which was delicious and the best we’ve tried around here. Service was excellent, great atmosphere and the roaring fire was a nice touch. Oh and a shout out for the Surrey Hills Brewery Ruby bitter which was sublime. 4.5 stars verging on 5. Go try.

We had a meal here with friends last night and the place was buzzing! New tapas style menu meant we all shared the food which was delicious; generous portions and reasonable prices. We’ll be back!

Best family room we've ever stayed in. The website doesn't do this place justice. It provides superb value for money. Can't speak highly enough of it.

Nice place to stay, very comfortable beds. The room we stopped in was a little bit dirty and had water marks on one of the main walls. I think just a little bit of attention to detail in terms of cleaning wouldn't go amiss. Staff were lovely, and the bar was clean and welcoming. Lovely place to stay, and would certainly stay again. 35 mins from Gatwick Airport. 👍

I stayed here for 8 weeks whilst on a contract near Gatwick. I cannot fault this gorgeous place. Lovely rooms. Super comfy bed. Walk in powerful showers. Espresso machine and home made biscuits and bottled water in your room. Air con was a life saver in the hot weather and also was so grateful for the safe and ample parking. The staff are all warm and wonderful and the food in the pub is stunning and all freshly cooked. I wish this place was not 220 miles from my home as I could happily frequent here very often indeed!!! I had a very difficult assignment and coming back here at the end of a long and tough day made the impossible possible. Thank you Bulls Head Inn, your brilliant … I shall miss you!

Great food, great drinks & amazing staff

Pleasant revamp with great Village Pub atmosphere plus experienced trained staff. Menu excellent and well priced, beer well kept. Food superb.

Great customer service as always and a friendly fun family meal experienced … not easy with a group of 12 from 3 to 63 .. obviously we will be back! So very pleased this lovely pub has finally found its feet and a great asset to Ewhurst. Plus of course last but certainly not least, the food is gorgeous. Thank you

Friendly and beautifully run establishment. We enjoyed our stay. One slight grumble is that our room didn't have a safe to store valuables in.

Checked in, due to nothing else available. We were charged 12.5% service charge to eat at the bar. Extortionate bar prices and poor food quality. Room wasn't ready for us, and at check in didn't have a mattress. Wouldn't stay again.

Update: Sunday lunch in Jul24. Even better than the last time. The lamb wellington was incredible. Popped in for Sunday Lunch having driven past it so many times. Service and food were impeccable. Ewhurst residents have a very warm, welcoming pub right on the doorstep. Lucky Ewe!

The gluten free menu gave me so much choice, it was a real treat. My meal was very tasty, well presented and good value. The staff were all friendly and professional and paid us just the right amount of attention. We will definitely be returning.

Newly reopened. Food well above expectations. Only problem no decent garden area but very well decorated.

What a change … whole experience just great .. food fantastic. As locals we have looked forward to this pub getting in its feet and we now look forward to lots of future visits

Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious! A wide variety of vegetables, perfect roast potatoes and plenty of delicious roast beef! I would highly recommend having a meal at the recently reopened Bulls Head!!

We were there at the end of the renovation. The rooms and bathroom are perfect. Nice, modern decor. The kitchen wasn't in use yet, so breakfast was a bit simple and you had to help yourself to the fridge That was the only negative thing

A splendid tasty dinner at the Bulls Head, reopened just a few days ago. Chilli squid with mayonnaise as a starter was excellent - totally outclassed a Rick Stein skimpy offering in Cornwall recently. Lamb rump steak, sliced and pink was perfect served with vegetables and gravy. Even the orange choc chip ice cream (one scoop) was interesting. Pity about rather uninspiring decor and furniture but go for the food and friendly service

This place opened up again after being closed throughout the winter (23/24) and it’s back better than before. Really nice buzz in the place and super service from the team. Had a lovely meal and a great evening.

Stayed here for work for a few days, the rooms are modern, clean and spacious. There is a good sized bar/restaurant area and plenty of outside seating to enjoy the Surrey Hills area. The staff are helpful, friendly and very attentive to all of your needs. Highly recommend for a beer and a bite to eat or for a longer stay in the rooms.

We had a lovely meal here yesterday, there was a nice atmosphere and it was fairly busy for a Wednesday evening, which was nice to see. The food was fantastic! We couldn’t fault anything we had and the service was very friendly and attentive - just right. We’ll definitely be back! A great asset to the village.

We ate there today and having had generally bad experiences under the previous management we were delighted with the whole experience today. From the friendly welcome to the really good and tasty food. Pleasant, friendly, well organised staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. A nice relaxed local pub feel unlike the forced, chaotic feel previously. Well done to all involved! One small point, the garden is such an asset but odd that it is finished in tarmac making it feel a little like eating in a car park. A dressing of resin bonded stone would perhaps make it a bit less municipal without having to dig it all up and some weeding and trimming of the hedges would help. Didn’t massively detract from our overall positive experience though.

Just had lunch at the newly reopened Bulls Head. It was lovely to sit outside in the sun, with the pub feeling busy, but not crowded. We had a brilliant chicken flat bread. I hope in future they will add more flat breads/sandwich options for lunch as it was the perfect summer lunch size. Hope to be back again soon!

Lovely quiet night great mattress

Our stay at the Bulls Head In was thoroughly enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable, clean. The hospitality of the owners was great. They were friendly and polite. I highly recommend the Bulls Head Inn to anyone.

I will start by saying we have been here previously, though quite a few months ago, and it was fine. However… We booked for a family lunch on a Sunday afternoon. When we called to amend the booking two days before to add additional people we were informed that they wouldn’t be serving roasts, but we were fine with that. However things rapidly went downhill when we arrived. The ‘limited’ menu consisted of cheese/ham sandwiches, and maybe 4/5 mains. One was unavailable and another only had one portion left. It took an very long time for the starters to come out. It took even longer for the mains, we’d been there for an hour and a half before they came out, which was an incredibly long wait especially with children. The rice looked and tasted like microwave rice (not what you’d expect for the price). We ordered 3x portions of garlic bread, yet we were served two small slices of a baguette which looked and smelled dirty if I’m honest and it was definitely not edible. One of our mains came out cold. Another meal we added (only a sandwich) took so long we had to have two of the children share one portion and cancelled the second as we had all finished and definitely ready to leave. Whilst we appreciated that staff were in a difficult position, the service was inadequate. The cold meal and garlic bread were both removed from the bill, but it didn’t make up for how disappointing an experience it was. They also don’t have any high chairs so keep this is mind if you do decide to go and you have young children. In future, it would be much better to just close the kitchen if you are short of staff. It’s a shame as it used to be better here, but it was such a bad experience we definitely won’t be going back.

I was cross regarding meal taken. Wasn't a busy period, service not great. We chose bacon cheeseburger, pricey but good quality and well presented. Crayfish salad, tasty but small portion, crayfish in short supply, the bed of baby spinach a number of leaves had deteriorated when it goes to black sludge sandwiched between some ok leaves. We were passing through. I should have sent it back, but we were in a hurry, no cooking involved so why get this so badly wrong, both in presentation and cost, £14.95.
