Thank you for fitting me and my friend in on a busy Saturday. Best falafel I've had, so much food! All very yummy. The servers were all very polite.

A good menu and the food we had was nicely presented and good quality. Couldn't quite finish it all, but that's OK took a box home with leftovers 😂 We will definitely be back!

It was an okay experience. Main gripe is that the portion sizes were not great. We ordered the sharing platter and there was one skewer of each meat, one portion of fries, one pita. Just felt a bit underwhelming. If I went back - more likely for a lunch than an evening out - I'd probably order one of the individual meals, rather than the sharing platter, as it looked like you'd end up with a lot more for your money.

This place is not just about eating; it's a brilliant experience and an adventure that transports you to the streets of Greece. The prices are also reasonable. highly recommended!

Came here on father's day looking forward to a nice lunch but was sadly disappointed. The place was full and service really suffered. Going to the loo I could hear shouting and loud arguments going on in the adjoining kitchen. At one stage we looked around and saw that not a single table was eating - everybody was waiting for food. When that did eventually arrive it was average at best. Two of our drinks orders were forgotten. Before the owner responds with one of his snotty "fake review" replies, let me say that I'm an ordinary punter with no axe to grind or competing establishment to promote. I'm just a disappointed diner who won't be coming back here again.

Food was lovingly prepared, everything we ate tasted as it should or better, the moussaka was appreciated by those who had it and we rated it 10/10. Portions were generous and the cost for the set menu 2 courses under £20 (£17.99 if I remember correctly) three courses just over. (Around £21). Please check menu for current prices. I think the people leaving good reviews have never been to Greece.. Expensive, inexperienced staff, low stock and long waits. Came here on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty quiet but the service was very slow. Took ages for drinks, the server was young and didn’t speak much. There were 4/5 items went to order that they didn’t have. They then proceeded to decide to shut the restaurant because of lack of food and turned the music off mid meal. RUDE. The vibe was bad, the food was bad and burnt. Over priced.

Went to celebrate my brothers birthday, walked in shown table and immediately told you need to order very quickly as we are busy tonight! not the best welcome by the Manager. Service was very good, attentive but not over bearing by the young staff members. The Starters were mediocre, the Greek salad was awful, for £14.95 very disappointing as were the mains, the moussaka was burnt around the edges and completely tasteless, as was the Kleftico, very very dry the top of the meat was so tough where it was obviously over cooked. Having spent several years living in Greece I know & love the food which is usually so very flavoursome, but this was not good food, not only over cooked bet cheap ingredients. Very very disappointed, but didn’t like to complain on the night to ruin my brother’s birthday but I left feeling quite upset as it was my treat. In my opinion it is very overpriced for very poor food, such a shame as we were so looking forward to the night and came away really really disappointed. More than happy to pay for good food, but this was overpriced for the quality of the food.

Mixed reviews from our family group of 4. We were the first customers to arrive at just after 6.30pm on a Wednesday evening. The arrival/seating was silent and awkward. Ordered two pints of Moretti listed on the menu - no draft beer. Ordered two lemonades - no lemonade, only bottled Sprite. The food came quickly and it was tasty, but several different members of staff asked in quick succession if everything was alright and then kept hovering to clear the plates. Time for dessert. We ordered two banoffies, but alas no banoffies despite there only being four choices of dessert on the menu. The decor didn't really work and despite filling up, the atmosphere was quite flat. I think the waiting staff were trying their best to be attentive, but it felt like everything was whipped away as soon we were finished. It was nice enough, but not great.

Really pleased to have a decent Greek place nearby. The food is great, excellent value for money, and the vibe is good. The only minor criticism would be that the FOH staff appear to be very new to the industry, but that definitely won't stop us from coming back.

I came in earlier today to eat for dinner and the food and service was just amazing. I had the most fabulous waiter called Alicia who was very attentive. Will definitely be returning!

Genuinely saddened to leave this review. Saw there was a new Greek restaurant nearby which my friends and I were excited to try. The three of us had booked a table and arrived for 6:30. We ordered our food and drinks fairly promptly at 6:35. At this point there was one other table of people in the restaurant. Our starters took 20 minutes which felt a little on the long side, but we ate them in anticipation for our mains. When our plates were cleared away we ordered some more drinks. Sadly these never came. At 7:55, 1 hour and 20 minutes after placing our order we enquired how much longer we would have to wait and asked where our drinks were. It was clear the order had been forgotten as in this time the restaurant had filled and many other tables had received their starters and mains. About 5 minutes later two plates of food arrived, one of which we did not order. This was sent back to the kitchen and after another 5-10 minutes the correct meals were brought out. We came out to have dinner together, not to watch our friend eat her dinner and then have her watch us eat ours 10 minutes later! Mid way through our dinner the table next to us said they couldn’t wait any longer and would pay for what they had had and leave (starters and drinks). Very quickly appeared the owner who proceeded to have a loud argument with them in the middle of a busy restaurant! I have never seen anything like it! When our bill came, to our disbelief service charge had been added and we had been charged for an additional drink (the one I had to ask for twice). We asked for this to be amended and to have some level of discount for the fact we waited over an hour for our food and when it came it was wrong. Yet again the owner was arguing with us and no sincere apology was given. Although the experience was not good, if a sincere apology was given it may have made me leave happier. Instead we left with a patronising lecture on how in a restaurant you should expect to wait 2.5-3 hours and that this is not McDonalds. Please note: most disgruntled people are immediately much happier from a sincere apology and calm approach.

Good food, attentive staff, good experience! Busy so HIGHLY recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Great service and really good Greek cuisine

Unfortunately i have to agree with the other Greek in the reviews. The service was ok. It was very busy as a sunny Saturday lunch. However, the food was really bland. I struggled to find any trace of garlic in the tzatziki. The pork skewers were almost not seasoned. Same with the chicken skewers and the side salads. The soutzoukakia are meatballs originally from Asia Minor. The least they should have is a little cumin and a balance with the mint. No wonder there was no salt on our table or the one next to ours; the customers must have used it all. I really hope they fix this as a good Greek restaurant is overdue in the area. Hope to try again next year with a different result!

Arrived after booking a table online. Was with my nephew, sister and partner. The restaurant was almost empty. They could not find my booking - I showed my email to which I was told they could not seat us as they were already overbooked. It was a special treat for my sister and very young nephew. We were just left standing in the middle of the restaurant. Fortunately Cafe Picollo found us space even though they were busy. Never going back - they dont understand customer service especially with a child.

A mixed experience. They had over booked the tables and we were lucky to get seated when we did as some people were stood waiting outside. The atmosphere was busy and bustling. The food was fine, my husband had the kleftico which he said was nice but the meet was a little dry and it had feta cheese on it which we found strange. He had calamari to start and the batter wasnt great, it kind of just disintegrated off the squid. I had the falafel and it was a bit underwhelming. Unfortunately the chips were only just cooked through and the presentation let the food down. I would maybe go back to try it on a less busy night. The service was good, our food came quickly and the waitresses were really nice.

I’m really surprised at the good reviews and disappointed I didn’t have the same experience as everyone else. As someone who is Greek themselves I feel even more disappointed that this place isn’t even run by Greeks. I got the Stifado - it was just way too salty and the meat was so so dry. I asked for a cocktail on the menu and they didn’t have any of them. The service was fine, they were attentive and doing their best to compensate for the fact they knew the quality they were delivering wasn’t great. I’ve come away feeling overall disappointed that this is what Farnham will think Greek food is and what it’s all about …

Our taste for Greek good comes from holidays in Crete. Surprisingly (I’m a bit of a fussy eater, not even liking any tomato products) I could eat everything on the menu. Delicious pita wraps, tender souvlaki and, of course, the ubiquitous gyro. Good puddings as well with generous portions. If only it was a bit closer to Basingstoke, where I live, I would be tempted to visit every week.

Amazing moussaka, fresh and delicious Greek salad and rose wine for a perfect lunch. Relax atmosphere and friendly service. I am looking forward to visiting again!

I approached this meal with caution, so often restaurants offering this style of eating try to offer an up-market version of the food and the whole experience is a disaster, with none of the elements of real, local Greek food. I’ve been holidaying in Greece for over 40 years so I know what to expect. The restaurant had only changed to Greek food a couple of weeks ago, so I was even more nervous. This was totally different to what I had feared; I opted for a wrap and my fellow diners chose kebabs. The food arrived quickly and was obviously cooked to order. The taste was divine! Tender and tasty lamb kebab and the bifteki was one of the best I have ever tasted with melted feta oozing out. Chips flavoured with oregano and tzatziki that “momma” would be proud of. Eddie is a great chef and really knows what Greek food should taste like. Dessert brought the option of kadaifi - unusual in UK - it was served with syrup, ice cream, strawberry and a wafer. Fabulous! A generous portion, and a far better presentation than I’ve had before, even in Greece! Overall, one of the best Greek meals I’ve ever had in UK and better than many I’ve had in Greece. Unfortunately there’s hardly anything on the menu that isn’t tempting me, so return visits are definitely on the cards. Thank you Eddie, next time we must share an Ouzo!

This has just transformed into a Greek restaurant. We went in to try it out. Fantastic food, great service and superb atmosphere even as early as 6pm. Highly recommended

Absolutely amazing! Nice and fresh tasting and not too expensive. Some items not on the menu need to be on a specials board including wine and pudding items. And where was my free ouzo at the end lol! I only say that because this restaurant is one of the best Greek restaurants outside of Greece! We will be back soon!

Although I booked a table online, I was called 6 hours before to say they were fully booked. I explained I was one of the bookings...I had a confirmation etc but they wanted to cancel. Instead, I managed to rearrange for an earlier booking. Very strange. The lamb kleftico didn't have any feta or pastry as described on the menu and the pork gyros are not pita wraps as described, it's just the meat on a plate with chips, a few slices of pita and some salad leaves with mustard dressing which isn't listed on the menu as I would of requested no mustard on my food if I had known as I dislike it alot but the pork was nice. The greek salad had cold cooked caugette and peppers in it which was odd. Was a nice salad but a bit strange. You wouldn't know you were in a Greek restaurant, no Greek decor etc, just lots and lots of faux plants. There's definitely room for improvement with the restaurant but the staff were very friendly and attentive.

This is a wonderful restaurant. On arrival the chef came out to introduce the specials with some information about how they were prepared. Selecting one of them my wife expressed it was the best main course she could remember. Loved it and will definitely be back.

Haven't been before and although the website said they did a set lunch menu they have stopped doing it. Both my and my friends burgers were dry and burnt round the edges. A shame as the place looked pleasant. With so much competition in Farnham as far as we were concerned they will have to up their game.

This item was taken off the bill. The ‘crumble’ on top of apple resembled and tasted of uncooked pastry i.e foul. Two prawns in a seafood linguine…. I could go on….

My family (a group of 10, including 4 children) ate at the Downing Street Brasserie this evening for a birthday meal and we could not recommend it more! The service from the moment we entered the restaurant was so warm, friendly and attentive. We ordered a range of dishes, from the Greek menu, the main menu and fresh from the grill- without exception, the food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. You could tell it had been cooked from scratch and the fresh flavours were first class. If you are a fan of Greek food in particular, it's the best we've tasted in the area. Thank you very much for making it such a special birthday dinner. We shall be definitely returning soon!

Arrived to one other table on a Thursday evening. Extremely cold restaurant. Waited over 45 minutes for starter to be delivered and again almost an hour for main course to arrive. Food not cooked to a good quality, lacked seasoning, and poor quality. Partner had limited options as was gluten free. Was using a taste card to be told that this is not included in the menu, even though we announced at the start of the meal we had a taste card. Extremely rude owner who did not put customer satisfaction at top of his list and quickly moved us on from the restaurant and as customers we were extremely disappointed and will not be coming back to the restaurant again.

What a great place! Food was excellent as was the wine list. We had squid and the asparagus to start and then an Einstein steak and tuna steak for main. The truffle and Parmesan fries are delicious! Strongly recommend, can’t wait to go back.

Not amazing sadly. The eggs Benedict were awful, raw poached eggs and a muffin as deep and soft as a hard pancake. The chicken souvlaki my daughter couldn't eat as the chicken was rock solid and bone dry. Greek salad was nice however as was the full English. Won't be back anytime soon as plenty of better alternatives in Farnham. Oh and the transaction on my bank still comes up as The Bear, so I'm guessing they're the same people. Service was friendly though.

I believe under new management (used to be Bears). We had steak and it was really good. The fish on the next table was looking and smelling really good as well... will definitely go back for the fish. Oh and the cheesecake ....

Nice place for a bit of Sunday brunch! Service was great, and food came quickly even though it was quite busy. A vegan sausage might have been nice with the vegan breakfast 😊, otherwise, food was great!

Our first visit for lunch here, as the fish restaurant over the road had just closed. Enjoyed a good two course lunch, served by very friendly waitress, and we may well return next time we visit Farnham. Recommended. The picture on the wall underlines the name of this establishment!
